[Q] MIUI - No LOVE - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

Why is there no love for the Skyrocket in ROM-MIUI land?

Becauae we don't have the source code for many drivers.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2

as u are a new user to the skyrocket section, first, welcome. Second, the search feature and Google are your friends.
No miui for skyrocket yet, as no source code is available yet. The ics we have isn't even an release candidate, is more like a late beta

Eugene is working on miui. But with out source. Close to impossible

Check my threads.
There's an almost working version that I posted.

I did the requisite search for miui on the skyrocket threads/sections to know success, hence my query.

yea, eugene has been working on miui alongside cyanogen. there is a thread about it in t989 general section.

[Q] What ROMs are currently available for the Mesmerize?

What ROMs are currently available for the Mesmerize?
So far, I know about the USCC's official 2.1, the leaked USCC's 2.2 and the USCC's official 2.2.
Are there any custom 2.2/2.3 ROMs floating around?
Just posted my new rom for the ec10 update though it has to be flashed through CWM Recovery

I did but the topics are a little messy!
The ROMs say [ROM] at the beginning of the thread title. Pretty tricky.
Lol....no there are no 2.3 based roms out for the mesmerize at this moment but I'm sure we wont have that long of a wait
This really isn't a Development thread type of post. Posts like this should really be kept in the General area. We are getting too many general questions and posts that aren't related to development in here. This is one of the main reasons that it's getting more difficult to find posts that are actually useful.

Gingerbread kernels

Just wondering if any gingerbread kernels are still in development. I just flashed the latest cm7 nightly on my ns4g and noticed the kernel is a really old version. Did a search with the app here but couldn't find anything useful so sorry if its a dumb question.
And if there are... links please

Highly unlikely. A lot, if not all of the guys have moved onto ICS kernel development.

Porting the ig9300 to the i535

Is this possible?
I really want the latest Miui
miui[dot]com/a-203.html
I dont have any knowledge of porting or anything like that just flashing a few roms. Im using an old version right now.
I have been using a version from the forums here and I am trying to get a new version of Miui because there seems to be alot missing.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2028368
Not the latest miui but it is extremely stable and updated. Follow his Google + page. He postes the link in the op and he said it again on the last few pages
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
I am using that version of the rom right now it seems to be missing alot of features. I used to use miui on the nexus and it had so much more than the Gs3
The problem is MIUI is closed source and also the smali edits required are redonkulous. I'd honestly be greatful for what we got. If u were around the d2vzw scene in the beginning the MIUI we had was crap with minimal support

Its called ChameleonOS, its essentially CM with a bunch of MIUI features like their theme engine, plus some new ones. Its still highly beta so watch out for issues. I believe blind is maintaining evita.
Its pretty cool Best part is that its open source unlike MIUI

Since I am the dev for MIUI and 0xD34D was a lead dev for MIUI, anyone that is affiliated with MIUI as a dev, gets first dibs on compiling. However, I have many other projects going all at the same time.. so if anyone wants to compile it for evita, have fun.

Re: new rom not in our dev section?
I tried chaos last night the 3/23 build. I was disappointed I couldn't get the latest jellybam 7.0 to boot up. It was exactly as rohan described it. Once they polish it up a little it should be a very interesting rom.

I'm not sure where you got that information but just because someone did work on a MIUI ROM does not mean they get dibs on compiling first. Evita is already officially supported by us so we'll be compiling nightlies and official builds. You can compile it if you like but I already have someone lined up to take the lead as the maintainer for evita.
I just wanted to add that although we reverse engineered the MIUI theme engine, everything else was developed from the ground up. If you've worked with AOSP or CyanogenMod then this will be easy to work with. Much better than the crap one has to deal with when porting MIUI without any source code. Trust me I did my fair share of porting MIUI and hacking smali and because of the frustration I had over how MIUI obfuscated everything I decided to come up with an alternative.
updated op. old builds in 0xD34D goo seem to have been removed, fresh builds are now in ChameleonOS goo.

Will there be any thread for this Rom in the development section?
Seems evita is officially supported and it looks interesting, sure more people would try it if posted in there.

If the miui thread is in a development forum, this user hasn't enough posts to post there. If the thread is somewhere else, it's not an official thread

The leaked Miui rom is strictly beta and is not available nor fully functional for public consumption yet. This is why its in beta form to stop people from using it and having issues and also to stop the cluttering of forums with posts and threads about things not working. If I was you I would use something more stabler until miui becomes more stable for daily use.

Hi mate, the leaked beta it's much more stable than many half baked roms that i see in the developement forum. The MIUI thread in the General forum is a "friendly" thread and this is a rare thing nowdays here on XDA.Maybe once MIUI will release the official beta we will have a nice thread in the developement forum.

THX,i was keeping an eye on that thread since it was created . Sadly i was to late to apply for beta tester back in the days and i don't think they accept/need new ones.I hope they will release the official one soon.
BTW,the fact that i'm supporting a leaked rom doesn't mean i that i encourage the people who actually released the leak,it's unprofessional and unfair to the people who trusted you and accepted to be part of their team, but this is our world with all the good and bad.

Personally I respect the devs of the "half baked" miui ROMs that made something out of nothing. With a huge demand from the n5 community as well.
We should be grateful for their efforts.

I think you missunderstood my previous post, when i said "half baked" i was speaking about their functionality and wasn't aim to miui based roms, but even aosp, aokp,cm,etc roms that are not even tagged as beta.So basically i was just pointing that for being a beta it's quite stable, that's all.

I can see your point clearer now.
I assumed miui...my bad. Cause it was n7 port or nothing. I'd never expect it to be perfect. Lol
Apologies for the misunderstanding.
