hy im dynamic force 14 year having micromax a60 its rooted i downloade jet2.1(renamed it to update.zip) rom now when i switch off my phone then press power+home key and when android logo apperas i press call key reboot option apears i select intall sd card update.zip it showsE:signature verification failed ...........i hv read many posts but got nothing ...plss easyly tell me wht to do

I am a 14 yrs old too!!!!!
Well hello dynamic force,
I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE IF ANYTHING HAPPENS TO YOUR PHONE OR YOU BRICK IT!!!
I guess that the stock recovery in your phone only supports "apply update from sd" and does not support"install zip from sd".
And in your post you also mentioned that u renamed the rom file to update.zip(In some phones renaming dosent work, so undo the rename and keep the original file name).
For ur understanding-----Reboot option is actuall called Recovery or Bootloader
If you want to install the jet2.1 custom rom then all you have to do is get a different Recovery.
If you dont know what im talking about see this-(Definitions-StockRom-The original rom made by google itself, Custom rom-When the Stock rom from google is modified then a custom rom is made(Jet 2.1 is a custom rom), Stock Recovery-The Original recovery made from google itself, Custom recovery-A recovery that provides better and advanced options than a stock recovery)
So if u want to install this rom(jet 2.1) u need a custom recovery.
the best custom recovery i think is clockworkmod recovery(CWM)
so to get CWM you need to install an app called ROM MANAGER. After you install it open it a press flash clockworkmod recovery, then select your device model and then its done.
You can also make a backup of your current rom by pressing Backup current rom in ROM MANAGER in case anything goes wrong in the rom flashing process.
After CWM is flashed copy the rom with its original filename to the root of ur sd card. Then open rom manager and press install rom from sd card. Then select the Rom file and its done.
If this dosent work and the error "E:signature verification failed" comes again that means that the rom is not SIGNED(Google is ur friend)

Rooting and Flashing a custom ROM

I flashed the leaked froyo firmware I897UCJI6 on my samsung captivate using odin 1-click method. I have a working 2.2 now. My phone is not rooted. I am planning to flash a custom ROM and try other custom ROMs out there in the market. I've gone through a three part video series by mobiletechvideos on how to root and flash a custom ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=884364). But, i still have a few questions.
1. For rooting, do i need to flash the phone back to the stock JF6?
2. In the xda link given above, i am fine until step #4. Step #5 is a little bit confusing to me. After i copy the root file to the root directory in the internal sd card on my phone, i rename it to update.zip. Also, i copy the clockworkrecovery to the root directory in the internal sd card in the phone and rename it to update.zip. Now, after i am doing with rooting and clockworkrecovery, i have to proceed further to flash the custom ROM. Now, the steps mentioned in the xda forum does not say anything about moving the custom ROM file to the root directory in the internal sd card on the phone. My question is: Do i need to copy the custom ROM zip file into the root directory of the phone? Do i need to rename the custome ROM file to update.zip as well?
Someone please help.
Yes rom goes on sd, no do not rename
If you are on ji6 you will not be able to install clockwork because of 3e recovery. Two option, flash back to stock using
http://www.fileserve.com/file/emnCn2j
One click odin, provided you are at&t and build number is 1009 and lower located under battery
2 look for modded 3e recovery in. development for captivate posted by exist

Thanks for the reply. What is 3e recovery by the way? I am able to flash back to stock (jf6) using odin 1-click by following the volume up + down method to download. My build number is not in that 1000 series. Are you referring to s/n number found under the battery? In many threads I have seen ppl saying if u r under 1009 build # then you need to use 3 key combo method. You are saying the opposite. I am confused now. Sorry sir but I think I need.more explanation. I thank you for your time

Are you on at&t
If you can get into dl mode issuing volume and usb then you have three button combo. Later builds can not use jf6 stock 1010 and up. Your build had to be there, and I do not think it its possible it is not in the 1000s if you have a captivate

Pls clarify if s/n # found under battery is actually the build number. Also, according to many posts in this forum, three buttom combo is
1. Vol up
+
2. Vol down
+
3. Press Power button
Since when USB slot became a button? I am sorry but I dont understand.

WOW! I clicked on the xda link from my phone and the update.zip got downloaded into the download folder in my internal sd (i deleted it). I see the point now. I need to root only to back up all apps and system data such as contacts, sms, media etc. Otherwise, no need to root. Please conform the steps one last time if you don't mind:
1. Copy the update.zip into the root directory of my phone (how to get to the root directory, by the way! Sorry it is a dumb question). Also, copy the custom ROM zip file to the same root directory.
2. Using 3 button combo, follow the remaining steps.
Now, after I successfully flash the custom ROM, can I use the android market and install all the apps I use.

When you open my files app you are looking at the root of your sd. You will see your download folder, go to it long press either file select move phone will direct you to root if sd, select paste.
You are correct you need root to run programs like titanium backup to backup your apps, but when you flash stock they will all be gone either way. So unless you are rooted now you can not back up your apps. You can dl them again do not restore any system data just user apps. Backup contacts by exporting to ext sd, or sim
I am checking out so I won't be responding again for the night. Good luck
The simplest way there is to root/ flash a rom is to use a one click root program.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=739304
If you use this, it roots your phone for you. After you root with the program in the link above( there are videos on how to use the program if you get confused ) Download Rom Manager from the market. open up rom manager and select flash clockwork mod recovery. After that in the program rom manager click reboot into recovery( easier than holding volume buttons) the stock recovery will pop up when the phone reboots. Click reinstall packages. It will bring you back to the stock recovery, click reinstall packages for a second time and you will have cwm (clock work mod ) recovery. In clockwork mod recovery there is an option to back up your phone. do this before you flash a rom. after you back up turn your phone on. Make sure it is in usb debugging. connect to your computer and on your phone select mount sd. drag the downloaded rom .zip file into the sd. the root of you phone is just what ever drive your phone shows up as. unplug your phone reboot into recovery and in cwm recovery there is an option to factory wipe, do this and after it is done, click the option install zip. then choose zip from sd. highlight the rom . zip file you are flashing and select it. it will take a minute or too and when it is done just reboot the phone. First boot will take a while but once it boots your all set. any questions you can pm me and good luck.

Thank you. I have your toolbox program installed in my computer running 64 bit windows 7 home.premium edition. I have a few questions. My phone is running the leaked JI6 2.2 rightnow. What should I choose first from the toolbox? If I choose, flash to stock then do I need to select thw JF6 firmware file from somewhere or the tool itself will do the job? Sameway, if I click root, then do I need to select a root / clockwork files to finish rooting or again the tool itself will do the job? I understand for flashing the custom ROM I need to choose the the ROM .zip file. I watched the video about your program on mobiletechvideos on youtube. I think I need to watch it again or if you don't mind then can you give me the steps to use your toolbox (given what firmware I have currently running). Thank you

Try the the one from softonic...the windows app will install drivers so you can continue....(then connect device in bootloader to computer, go to the device manager, manually install driver for "android device", select android bootloader interface.)
:mmm:
Are they the 'Android Device 1.0' drivers??
If so... my pc (win7 x64) auto. installed them when connecting in bootloader mode while installing 'UltraJackRecovery'.
So... how do I go about flashing 'ClockWordMod'??
Is it a similar process to UJR??

I installed Rom Manager 3.0.1.7 from Market and then installed/flashed cwm recovery from the Rom Manager. Rom Manager now shows Current ClockworkMod Recovery 3.0.2.4
Problem is it wont complete any tasks. eg. Boot into Recovery, Install ROM from sd card, Backup Current Rom. All these tasks hang on the IDEOS screen after they reboot and buttons remain lit. I have to pull battery to reboot.
How can I proceed?

Yes thats the way I did it. Installed Rom Manager from market and it installed the ClockworkMod Recovery latest version for Ideos. I also downloaded the FusionIdeos zip file straight to my phone. But everything I select results in a reboot to the white screen with IDEOS across it and both buttons lit. All the actions below have this result:
In Rom Manager, press Reboot to Recovery
In Rom Manager, press Flash new ROM
Power on phone with buttons for bootloader
Power on phone with buttons for Recovery
Reset using settings>privacy>Factory Data Reset
I can only restart by pulling out the battery then turn on phone and it loads normally and runs the same as ever.
I really don't know what to do next.

Do you have a custom recovery installed? If you do simply boot into recovery. (Turn the phone on while holding the volume up and call keys.) Once your phone reboots into recovery select backup and restore and backup.
If you don't have a custom recovery, first make sure you're using the latest rom manager. Open rom manager and select flash clockworkmod recovery and select huawei u8150 from the list. Once it flashes select reboot into recovery. Once your phone reboots into recovery select backup and restore.

[q] need original rom spice-mi700 build 5012_3_16p

Hi
I wonder if anyone here can help me out, I just damage the original rom of my Spice Mi700 build 5012_3_16P (Indonesian Version) I cant make a phone call, browse internet, etc. Now I need the original ROM of it to flash it back to my device. I couldn't go to the store to get it fix cause i'm too far away from the store (needs 2 flights to get there).
So if anyone here got the device and can dump the clean ROM for me or if anyone had the original ROM would you please share it to me??
BIG THANKS,
ps: mods, if this is the wrong place to ask please move it to the right place, tq.
Did u tried to flash a custom ROM or damaged it while using?
Before flashing try factory reset ur device.Follow the steps below.
---->IF U CAN BOOT INTO RECOVERY VIA KEY THEN SKIP THE 1) N 2) 3) STEP.
IF NOT THEN FOLLOW ALL THE 4 STEPS.
1)Turn on ur pc n search for quick boot app on the internet.
2)Install it run it.
3)Select the recovery boot.(This will boot ur device with inbuilt recovery mode present in ur device.)
4)Then select the wipe date or factory reset something like that.
Wait until it is finished. Then reboot ur device n check weather the prob is solved or not.
Here's the quick boot app:
I am not allowed to post link but here's the path for it:
Google for quickboot.apk u will see the mediafire link download it.
Thanks for the reply,
I have done repairing the device, I search all over the net finnally I have solution flash back using custom ROM.
Here's what happen that make my OS broken, at the time my phone was temporary rooted, then I do a Factory Reset (while it still rooted). After the reset there's when a lot of my device features can't be use. I can't make a phone call, lost my browser, can't install apps, my builtin file browser was not installed. So I'm almost can not do anything. I even tried to install the apps using ADB and still failed. So in my confusion status i search here the any possibilities to fix it, what i found is a custom ROM but its for 5012_3_16I (mine is 16P). I'm afraid it will not work for my device. But anyway what's the worst it can be, so i do this way :
1. Install clokwordrecovery.img
2. Reboot to the recovery (using adb commands)
3. Backup the last state of my device
4. Then install the custom ROM from this XDA (i cannot post a link too, just search it with a thread title "[REQ] Developers Interest NEEDED: Samsung Tab Alternative - Spice Mi700 DroidPad")
5. Aaannnndddd it works, my phone got all the function back.
6. Oooo, I also overclock the Proc to 864mhz (using a solution from the neighbours forum)
7. I found out about yaffs2expert in the market.
8. Using yaffs tool I extract the system img from my backup files earlier
9. I remove the folder system and boot.img in the custom ROM that i got before and change it with my extracted folder from the extracted img and the backup boot.img too (the original backup boot.img was not extracted).
10. I compressed it using zip
11. Using recovery mod install the ROM that i have just build before.
12. And again it now back to its original (like new from the store) state of the device.
13. The proc is still OC to 864mhz.
Do what I have just done is a bad idea (customizing a moded ROM with my original ROM)????
Ok now I have a new problem, everytime I turn the wifi on the device is restarted, is there any solution??
Thanks,

[xxxrom][14-08-2013] micromax canvas 4 - a210-stock based custom rom (jb)

Hallo,
I was trying to find custom ROMS for the Canvas 4 -A210 Micromax mobile in this forum and my search yielded one custom Rom which I experimented and met with the difficulties.
I thought I can try some other custom ROM of the same type or equivalent type mobiles. Luckily I came across the "Thread By: bgcngm" which normally read regularly.
I picked up the V3.0MOD Rom and edited and and experimented with the A210 canvas4. Luckily it gave me a good performance except that of the "Video call" facility did not show up. My IMEI was also vanished. This happended to me on previous experiments also.
Hence who ever is going to use this Custom Rom has to back up there IMEI and restore it using Mobileuncle Tool or what ever they feel easier.
I submit and reiterate here all the credit for this ROM to "bgcngm" and also request him further help us to some more modification to ease the application. I am only a learner and new entrant. Based on my use below I provided the details: You should have a Rooted Phone..
1. Find here the CWM recovery that was obtained using the MTKDroid Tool 2.4.8.
2. Use SPFT above 119. I have used 139.
3. Download the stock ROM and click on the Scatter file. This will load up all the files required for the stock rom. Un-**** all the items. Now click preloader and take your curser to the recovery. Click it and point it to the extracted CWM recovery you have downloaded from this.
4. This will install the CWM recovery 5.5.0.4 to your mobile. Also you can try with Mobileuncle tool to install the cwm recovery.
5.Download and copy the Custom Rom to your external or internal sdcard. The url is here:
MMX-XXX-JB_210_ROM => https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B6mi3aQy8tz9TVlJWWJ5SnJMRDA/edit?usp=sharing
6. Before installing please back up every thing using the CWM recovery.
7. Using CWM recovery you select the custom ROM form the location you have copied and install from the AROMA installer.
8. Please back up your IMEI, some time it may be required if you loose yours, this can be restored using Mobileuncle Tool.
9. It is advisable to use custom installation and select what ever application you like.
10. Install and enjoy.
If you like my efforts, please hit thanks.
with best wishes
Please wait Camera is not seen/ working I am recasting it. I am trying. An port it tonight. Please wait

MMX-XXX-JB_210_ROM => https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B6mi3aQy8tz9TVlJWWJ5SnJMRDA/edit?usp=sharing

Many time i used the the recovery obtained through Mtk Droid tool and it is working fine. I used the patched recovery provided by MTK Droid Tool.
This worked fine. But the recovery saved inside the mobile in the clockworkbackup created some problem.
Patched recovery provided in the recovery file in the MTK DROID Tool is functioning good and I am using that currently. Whether it is perfect or not I do not know. In what contact you are asking i could not guess.
It suffice the need and operation is normal and good like many other which I have used in the past.
If you meet with any difficulties. You write in this forum. I or any one
will reply.

Gentle man,
Please find the screen shots for installing the CWM recovery on Canvas 4
1. Download keep ready the SP_Flash_Tool_exe_v3.1312.0.139.zip extract it to a separate folder on your desk top.
2. Double click the blue coloured .exe file as shown below
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2201502&stc=1&d=1376999658
3.Immediately the Smart Phone Flash Tool will pop up. You click on the scatter loading row by taking the courser there, AS SHOWN IN THE SCREEN SHOT BELOW.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2201517&stc=1&d=1377000012
4. Once you clkick the scatter file your window will ask for the location of the scatter file from the ROM. Hence you should have the SPFT flashable rom file reaqdy in hand. Hope you will be having one or you google it in this from search and down load and keep ready.
5. Take your curser to the MT6589-Android_scatter_emmc.txt file as shown in the picture below and click it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2201539&stc=1&d=1377000609
6. Immediately after clicking, the tool will download all the required files from the folder and a tick mark will be seen against the files name as seen here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2201546&stc=1&d=1377000844
7. Now un-tick all the boxes except the preloader file. Then go to Recovery file and tick it. Now do a sigle click of the recovery file. A window eill pop up and ask for the location of the file in your stock Rom folder. Now take your courser to the location where you have saved your CWM recovery file and click/ open or do a double click. The stock recvery file will be replaced by the CWM Recovery file as seen in the shot below.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2201559&stc=1&d=1377001277
8. Similarly if you want you can upload the patched Boot.img file also. It has been recommended by the senior developer of the MTK Tools to flash the patched boot.img also for a better shell performance of the phone. It can be done on a trial and error basis. I have upload this .img also into my phone during the flash. You can do a separate flash or single flash of both the files together. No other files are required.
9. After ticking stay awake and usb debugging in your phone your put off your phone. Remove the batter. Connect the phone to your PC/ Lap top using the USB cable provided along with the phone. After connecting your phone now put your batter into the phone again. For some PC or Lap top you may have to put after clicking the download button. It depends on how you have installed the drivers or framwork of driver loading. Normally I connect the batter before clicking download section.
9.After downloading the required file, just look above the 5 white rows of the SPFT tool you can notice, four different components, vice ----Format----, firmware upgrade-----, download------- and DA DL all with check sum. Just click on the Download section there as shown in the pictures below
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2201573&stc=1&d=1377001862
a window will pop up asking you yes or now withe warning as seen in the above shot. Ignore the warning and click yes.
10. Depending up on the RAM and other features of your PC/Laptop first yellow flash across the bottom most row will glowing through as shown in the shot below and followed by a Purple/indigo micture glowing flash and finally a yellow beam that ends with a green circle as you seen in the shots below.
Though the CWM and Boot.img file file has already been uploaded by me in this portal for making it holistic I am up loading the files here.
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B6mi3aQy8tz9XzhyZmFmQUtqWVk/edit?usp=sharing .... Patched boot.img file.

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B6mi3aQy8tz9bHdXUWtYMUZPZTQ/edit?usp=sharing ---- SPFT 139 file

The is 547 MB and why nothing inside.
AROMA installer problems is also felt by me. But using volume up and down key and power on switch we have to install the Rom Colour scheme in the touch is not working for volume up and down buttons.
Since I was busy with local works I could not improve it. Developers who are free can attempt it.. For another one week I have busy schedule and afterwards I will try to improve it.
Thanks for your attempts
