Best app/game reviews sites? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

I've done my fair share of Google searching and still haven't found anything great. Figured I'd ask my fellow SR owners.
Since my switch from the i4 the one thing I miss is using the Site toucharcade.com for reviews on games. I still use it daily for my ipad and have been looking for a site similar for our android phones. Haven't found one that's easy to find decent reviews on apps or games. Just top list all over Google.
What sites do you guys use?
Here are few sites I frequent daily, hopefully some of you guys may like.
Lifehacker.com
Redmondpie.com
Toucharcade.com (ipad games)
And just one of my favorite blogs to use:
Theawesomer.com
They get their info from a collective of the major and minor blogs sites so it comes a little later then most. But man its a rad Site to waste some time!
So what do y'all use?

What do YOU primarily use your G Tablet for?

Just wanted to know what everyone uses theirs for/plans to use theirs for, so maybe we could share ideas and whatnot.
Personally, I use mine for a few reasons.
The first being is that I'm into photography, and while it's nice to have a physical portfolio to walk around with, I like having a digital one to carry around as well. I also use photoshop mobile sometimes to quickly edit photos on the fly to show to people as I'm taking them.
Another reason is for baseball uses of which I have a few. I can keep score on it using iScore, which is a REALLY nice analysis program. I also plan on using it for MLB At Bat where I can watch games live with my MLB.tv account.
I also use it for the widgets. I have it set up as a digital photo frame at work, but my boss thinks it's a great idea to allow me to have the widgets open which show me the scores of my favorite teams, what people are doing on facebook, the news, etc. That way, I'm not wasting time browsing the web while at work, and I can glance over and find out what I want to know. It's also nice to use as a digital photo frame.
And, of course, I use it as a portable media player.
What do you guys use yours for?
My gtab is my primary device for internet browsing when I'm at home. I let my family use the desktop when all I want to do is go on the internet. I stream a lot of video with my gtab. I also use it for casual gaming and emulators like n64, snes and gba. My gtab is great for long road trips too. It keeps the kids at ease and off my nerves. its a portable entertainment device which pretty much replaced my indash dvd player and headrest monitors. I mean I still have them installed in my car but my kids hardly use it anymore because they rather watch the movies I have on my thumbdrive or play snes, psx,gba with a wiimote.
Browsing forums, news sites and looking up IMDB and Wikipedia while watching telly.
Also for keeping up with work email and Gmail when away from my PC. And occasionally reading twitter.
One day I'll get around to trying out video

Just a suggestion for the new members of the gtablet forum, before you start a new thread, please try the search feature and you would probably discover two things
1) how bad the search is - sorry to say it, it is true that it is hard to find the right info..
2) how much other info you can find.
Good luck and welcome to the club!

Jan 4th was the last post!?!??! that was deep in the bowels of the threads huh? I'm sure we have room on the forums to have another "what do you use your "insert device here"" thread lol
10 people probably had the gtab 3 months ago. Now we have 10,000+ new ones coming lol
I doubt all 10,000 units sold will turn into 10,000 new board members. I'd guess a third of that can be arsed to join, fewer still will have the courage to try the new ROMs.
Personally, I intend to do a lot of reading before I post a bunch of n00b threads about Y CANT I PLAY ASTEROIDZ?? or whatever.

What's the board culture concerning the resurrecting of zombie threads? I know some boards frown on it, some boards have an "age limit" (few months, usually) and some boards don't care.
My tablet I strictly a casual device!!!!fun and surf!!!!
web browsing around the house..email..some gaming...movies in the car on the road. beyond that they are somewhat limited. I really can't understand the rush to spend $800 on a newer model that basically does the same thing.
At least its driving down the price on g tablets so i will probably grab a second soon!

I am not saying you cannot start a new thread, I am saying that there are many good info you can find from the old threads. In some cases, you may find something interesting.. We are getting more people now, and in last weeks, I am seeing a lot of new threads/questions. Good info/discussion/threads are quickly buried deep unless they are sticky. Roebeet or other senior members of the forum are trying hard to info the new members..

Thanks for asking, as a business tool, a digital dashboard. The quickest way to access my c-panel, website, surf the web and respond to communications.
I use mine to carry invoices, data and software for my computer repair business when I'm on the road. I also use it as a car audio Bluetooth stream device directly to my amps. As well a the obvious to keep up on forums, Facebook and surf. And of course to just root and ROM...

I carry mine to work and use it as a Pandora player and weather/news updater so I don't have to use any of my work displays for these things. Also have several remote admin tools to check on servers, etc.
At home, this is hands-down the best bathroom computer in history. All the e-magazines and forums ... and now - streaming movies from Amazon too.
I am also absolutely queer for Wordsmith Free (if you ever play against me, be very afraid!)

Haha this is currently the job of my Evo, but for that morning poo, when I don't have my contacts in, the bigger screen will be a godsend.
Picked this G-tab up on Woot the other day so I could have some kind of device to use while on dialysis. More than likely I'll use it for heavy web surfing, moderate game play, weather, sports, streaming movies to it, portable media player, etc, etc. I'm really looking forward to getting this device. Not so enthused on having to pick between CyanogenMod, Zpad clean, TnT Lite, or VEGAn tab. Going to be tough.
General lightweight use
My workstation is a desktop. So, I use my Gtab mostly around the office for taking notes in meetings, checking email and a lightweight web browsing platform.
For personal use, I like to play 3D games on it and use it as my main kindle reading device.
I do most of my web surfing on mine.
Bought the dock a while back and started using it as a media center as well.
Plus, got a Gametel so I also use it to play all my old favorite 8 and 16 bit games.
Oh, and I let my nephews and nieces play games on it to keep them off my gaming rig.
Since I bought the G Tablet I rarely mess with my pc anymore outside of Borderlands 2 and Skyrim.
I primarily use mine as a very large very cool alarm clock. But also for browsing the web & email.

I use my Gtab for web browsing, e-reading, and email. I'm just starting with app development and it's also a great bargain tablet test platform for me.
I'm currently using mine to collect dust on my desk. It won't power up any longer. No idea why.

Nice mention!

Did you guys see that on the g Tablet site under favorites, they mention xda as a site you should visit?
http://www.viewsonic.com/gtablet/favorite.htm
If that does not instill confidence in our devs I don't know what will!
That was a pretty cool day. Realistically it saved them tons of money sending people rather than Fielding questions and bug reports on their stock II.

Pretty amazing. It seams like this industry spends most if it time trying to stop people from using resources like XDA. Its really refreshing that they are backing the hobbyists even if its indirectly.
VS site has referred users here pretty much from day one.
They added that around the same time they released 3389, in December.
3389 was the first release with the "classic" interface, and I firmly believe that the complaints from users (XDA or otherwise) probably pushed them into that direction.
Notion Ink (makers of the Adam tablet) also added a nod to their blog, after we ported their UI and apps over to the GTAB.

New gTablet Review - Shares many of my feelings

I stumbled on this review while looking for info on new ROM's. It paints a decent picture of my ugly but hardy tablet. If I ever sell it, this article would be a good link to help bump up the price . It's a half decent read and at least half-way accurate. Check it out: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/8017833/viewssonic_g_tablet_the_best_android.html?cat=15

Ugly? I wouldn't say the thing is ugly.
The article's author is Chris Matier. The OP is 'matguard'. Coincidence? Perhaps. Still, good article.
Hmmmm, who is this really?
Anyways, very good review. It kind of explains why I still kept and use it after going out and buying an Ipad 2, and I am still running it stock.
The Ipad was necessary for the very good business apps I needed and really like and use. But other than being an owner of Ipods I have never been a user of Apple. Right off the bat, the closed society and structure grates me more than I thought it would. I could never go with their desktops or laptops.
By the way, I had used two credit cards on the Itunes store and both had the numbers lifted with attempted big purchases from the thief. Now only use Itunes gift cards but WTF? So much for Apple's security. They just go into denial mode when anyone complains or points out defects.
This review pretty much states my reasons for having the tab and loving it also. I jumped on it during a woot sale. Tried to go unrooted for a bit, but the rooting was easy, the roms are fun. I enjoy my tablet greatly.
This review is spot on. Explains all reasons I like and dislike my tablet. XDA is a necessity for this tablet to shine.

[Q] Where do you go for all of your Android news/reviews/etc?

For all of you current Android users, besides xda, what sites do you go to to read up on Android? Where do you get your news, reviews, & all of that stuff?
I go to pocketnow & engadget but I've noticed there are quite a few sites out there that are dedicated to just Android. I'd like to know some of the more popular ones so I can maybe add it to my list of frequented sites.
Thanks
I really don't call engadget a reliable site they do things with android phones that a normal person wouldn't do. Like play music while recording a video in 1080p and says the sound is horrible. Usually phonedog, smartphone envy sometimes and tech buffalo. Usually have good reviews of the phone.

Android Central is good. Check it out
I check Phandroid because they're local to me, Droid-Life because they'll sometimes do an article on an app that's cool, Pocketnow, Engadget and sometimes Android Centeral or Android Police depending on who the source is for articles I care about. Also, T-Mo News when I want to see what's up with the Sensation
The usual engadget, cnet, phone arena, ars technica. Androidcentral is my favorite dedicated android site. Androidguys and androidandme seem to have dropped when it comes to quality the past few months.

engadget, phandroid, android and me, planet android..... a have quite a few in my google reader.
The bad thing when you subscribe multiple websites is, you can be reading the same news 10 times a day.....
Wrong section
I also check out phandroid. Great place to ask questions and get some feedback.
My favorite place for specs and reviews is gsmarena.com but they are not without their occasional errors. Still, my fav place.
Coolsmartphone techradar and pocketnow

I always liked XDA's Nexus 7 "Unboxing." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iNWRto0Vf0M
Hello!
I loved all articles in 2012 and I was reading them while having fun, so it was very good. For videos, I particularly liked the XDA Unboxings, and the unboxing of the SGS3 was hilarious when Jordan "fainted" when he saw his device was taken apart.
So yeah, a great year at XDA, wish you another like this!!!!!!
I'm a big fan of Azrienoch's This Is Why We Root video. It really sheds some light on the possibilities after rooting your device, as well as providing information as to why someone would want to. I'm an advocate of being able to have total control over a phone that you've paid good money for, and now I have a resource to direct my friends to whenever I hear the question "What's so good about rooting your phone?".
The story of the HD2 getting a WP8 port
cracking the gsIII bootloader on verizon
I like XDA unboxing videos.
My favorite is Verizon's Samsung Galaxy S3 unboxing
azrienoch's video on Why XDA-Developers.com Roots Android(http://www.xda-developers.com/android/this-is-why-xda-developers-com-roots-android-xda-developer-tv/)
is my favorite
After lurking for a number of months this is the first subject that has compelled my procrastinating fingers to register.
Best video all categories - Azrienoch "This Is Why XDA-Developers.com Roots Android"
The others are difficult to choose from as they're all great and I feel it is almost a betrayal to say that I've preferred one more than another thus I'm just going to give a special mention for TK who has improved exponentially with every video made.
Big thanks to all for your efforts.
