Transfer texts from one phone to another? - General Questions and Answers

So is there anyway to transfer texts from one phone to another in real time? The thing is I need to receive the texts on one phone and then send it to another. And from that other phone I need to respond to them looking like it came from the phone they first texted. LMK If this is possible.

Try using SMS Backup & Restore . It should help you on what you want to do . Simply just backup your SMS conversation and transfer that backup and the app of the SMS Backup & Restore to that another phone and restore it on that phone . I don't think that there's such a app for you to transfer message from one phone to another without sending SMS.

Wish I would have known about this when I went from GB to ICE could have saved my txt's.

SMS Forwarding
What you want is called SMS forwarding BUT it does only half of what you want.
There are regular (SMS Forwarding) and stealth apps (SMS Replicator).
I can not post outside links yet.
I have not yet found an app that would allow you to repply from device #2 "as if" you were using your device number #1 but I will keep on looking.
Also, if there is not out there yet, (Not inmediate solution) you can request this from the developers of the app, specially if it is a paid one....

... is better by making mistakes. Being that said, whenever in doubth, check the market for " back-up", " restore", "save", etc. Something will come up that will show you of something that you did not know before.
And, just in case you don't know yet, there are apps to back-up: call-logs, Apps, and the firmware / OS (ROM).
You are not alone

Intercepting Text Messages

I get alot of text messages from some people and my partner would like to be able to intercept those messages so he can have a copy of them on his Wizard. How would he go about doing that?
You want all you SMS messages forwarded to another phone?
think he want to set rules for which ones are forwarded
Your "partner" can't intercept them.. But you can do one of two things..
Either create a program intercepting all incoming SMS'es, always forwarding them to him. You could append the sender phonenumber in the body of the sms or something so he'll know who it is from..
The other thing you could do .. is write a client/server app, so when you get an sms, it's intercepted and posted to a homepage/server you have.. Your partner could have a clientversion which regurarly synchronizes the data from the server and adds them to the cemail.vol file.. making it seem that he ha got the sms aswell..
Another thing again .. you could just make another app which sends the incoming sms as an email to your partner.. Many ways to do this.. but he can not intercept them.. you have to forward them either as an SMS, Email or pure data via a server solution you code/develop...
"Either create a program intercepting all incoming SMS'es, always forwarding them to him. You could append the sender phonenumber in the body of the sms or something so he'll know who it is from.."
he can also make a program which only intercept sms's from a list of phone numbers or where surden texts or char's are present
but the program would need to run all the time and periodicly check for new sms's
i would like a program to reject sms messages or mms messages by phone number like i was able to do with my old phone.

I think I'll just go with the first suggestion. Thanks!
MOD EDIT:
this is obviously illegal.
lets move this discussion to the Q&A section

Hey all. Nearly 2 years have gone by since the last post in this thread and I know technology changes over time. I've done some reading about intercepting SMS/text messages but I was wondering if there are now any other ways to do this.
I want to be able to intercept text messages sent and received from one particular CDMA mobile phone number, or to have them forwarded to me without the person's knowledge. I don't have physical access to this person's phone, but if it helps I do have their ESN/MEID for their device.
I'm not so worried about intercepting phone calls or anything. I can get close enough to the user's phone though to be on the same cell tower as them if needed in order to intercept or have the SMS messages forwarded to me.
Are their any options for making this possible without direct access to this particular device? I understand the idea behind copying the identity of the target phone using a SIM card, but again, I don't have physical access to the phone in order to do that. Thanks!

Guys,
Isn't this illegal? You're literally asking to be the NSA or the government, snooping information without the person's information or consent?
Spying on a significant other?
Cheers.
good point. didn't read the last post.

Hmmm, sounds to me like he wants to spam people rather than sending standard messages - can't think of another reason why you would want to have Excel List prepeared messages. If it wouldn't be meant to send out large amount of SMS, a SMS template would do!
I hate people doing that - here in the US you have to pay even for incoming messages, regardless if it was wanted or not!
Could be he wants to do a blanket "Happy New Year" message to all his friends.
Actually scrub that, you could just do one SMS to already existing contacts very easily so why the need to prepare an Excel sheet.
For remote control etc i use Jeyo Mobile Companion.

Hey !
I am not spamming anything, I want to send personalized SMS to my friends, relatives. etc.
I have to send around 250 SMS on this New Year and has made an excel containing the phone number and the personalized SMS.
Generally in India, people send standard SMS to everybody on such days but I just want to add my personal touch to it !!!
Spamming means to send standard SMS/emails to many recipients, but after reading your reply, it seems that your definition of spamming is very much different !!!
I do have Jeyo mobile, but copy and pasting each number and SMS will be bit difficult.
Hmmm,
I just wonder why you copied / wrote all the messages into an Excel sheet in first place?
As far as I remember, Outlook 2007 somehow supports sending out short messages - it has to be configured once but then it should work just fine.

I had not written all the SMS, just changed the standard SMS according to the person, like his/her name, saluation, etc. Basic text of all the SMS is same.
Excel provides tools like concanate, etc to create SMS with variable fields and that why I used it.
However I can convert that excel file onto .txt file also but the basic requirement remains the same, I want to send particular SMS to particular number only.

I opened this new thread as I know one software which can be used with CDMA handset to send SMS from excel and that software is free.
I used it and it works like a charm.

The Mobile Secretary

Hello,
I am currently using the Mobile Secretary as my program to auto-respond to missed calls. As viewed here:
http://blogs.msdn.com/windowsmobile/...secretary.aspx
As you can tell it is quite outdated and need something a few more features. (excluding international texts being the primary concern)
Can anyone recommend any applications?
Also I think it's worth mentioning I have a Samsung Ace i325 with windows mobile 6 standard.
OK, the source is available, so you're on. Be specific about what you'd like to have changed.

The most important feature I need is the ability to:
-exclude international callers. (and SMS if that feature is added)
-ability to automatically reply to SMS/text as well.
Some features that would be a bonus: (in order of importance)
-Ability to have 6 saved messages I can switch between
-Number of rings before the phone auto hangs up
-Max number of SMS that can be sent to one person
-Log of amount of SMS sent per session
-Log of phone numbers that SMS were sent
If I can get a program like this working on my current phone I will definitely pay for it.
When you say "exclude international callers", you mean don't automatically send back the SMS when you miss a call from an international caller? Why don't you just leave international callers out of the group?
As for automatically replying to SMS, how would you like the reply to be handled? Would you put a message in for each group, and SMS from people in that group would get that group's reply?
When you say "exclude international callers", you mean don't automatically send back the SMS when you miss a call from an international caller? Yes.
Why don't you just leave international callers out of the group?
I only really need the "Default" and "Unknown Caller" groups with both sending the same message. I don't plan on using the groups to send specific messages to certain people. I want to send the same SMS to all missed calls. Unless I am missing something but I don't see how to filter out all Int Calls?
As for automatically replying to SMS, how would you like the reply to be handled? Would you put a message in for each group, and SMS from people in that group would get that group's reply?
That would be a nice feature, but all since I am only using two groups with the same message, it probably isn't necessary. I just need it to auto-reply one SMS to all received SMS.
If all you're looking for is a quick little app to auto-SMS any missed calls (excluding international calls) with the same message, that'd be really quick to whip up.

As long as it doesn't attempt to send SMS to numbers that come up as "Blocked ID" (could cause errors) ...then even what your suggesting would be improvement.
That plus auto-SMS to all texts would be great.
I would also need a manual filter for a few numbers that I know don't want any SMS sent. (paycard numbers in particular)
(I currently use a "third group" on mobile secretary to "filter" out those auto-SMS, forgot to mention that earlier)
I definitely don't need an intricate program =)

Are there any good unthreaded/inbox style SMS apps anywhere?

I used EasySMS (previously Pansi SMS) until Kitkat, when MMS didn't work on my S4 Active anymore. Since then I have used Go SMS Pro, which is less easy (takes a few steps to get to the inbox style folder window), but still works. And now, with version 6 those "%¤"!&%!¤&%# morons (read like a very mad Donald Duck!) have messed up that and mate it into an SMS app for idiots who only wants a fancy theme. No folder view anymore. Are there any other apps worth trying? I really, really, really hate "conversation mode", I don't have conversations in SMS! I get an SMS, answer and delete. Showing what I said before (since I have deleted the received ones) is just annoying, and I want all SMS collected in one view. With my mail warnings I get 40-50 SMS every day, so I just need a very neat and clean interface, and the ability to send SMS and MMS. No fancy theme or bull**** like that. Does anybody have a god tip on an app for that?
New messenger from Google is great, better than stock SMS app and hangouts.
Thanks! Is it possible to do that as a pure "received SMS list", old school? And is it possible to use it without any other Google stuff than a Gmail account (which is only used for Android purchases)? I am hysterically unsocial (no Facebook, no Twitter, no Instagram, no nothing except for forums and mail), so if it requires Google +, use of Hangouts or any other stuff like that I'm out.
Nah man,you just install it and you're good to go,i think it doesn't even require gmail. I too don't have anything like that,im just browsing g+ and XDA. And i don't understand what you mean by "recieved SMS list" ,but in general,it's the most simple and clear SMS app i have ever tried. Just search google for it.
I may be dense, but I can't find it. I found Hangouts, but that's very far from what I'm looking for. It has one window, and there it shows all conversations, also my sent messages (because the received messages are deleted). What I'm looking for is one that has a traditional folder structure, with an inbox that only shows messages in, and nothing else. And preferably no threaded messages either, when I answer. So when I answer one, I only see the one I'm answering, not the message history of that contact. Do you understand what I mean?
Yes,ill paste the link

Thanks, but I'm afraid that isn't what I'm looking for. It seems like it shows sent messages as well in the main list, and I want something that only shows received messages in a list, nothing else.

[Q] viber on two different phones

Hi guys
It's probably been asked before, but I'll do it anyway
I have two android phones using my main SIM number, I alternate according to my mood or battery draining
I have viber installed on both, and every time I change phone, and start viber, the app asks my number to insert the new code blá-blá, and all my messages and call log vanish
Is there any trick to overcome this issue?
I have two different cell numbers from different carriers
My phones are Samsung S3 mini and Sony Xperia E
Cheers
Antonio
Hey Antonio,
Your Viber ID is your phone number - just as you can only have one phone number per device, you can only have on Viber ID per mobile device.
As a security feature, when Viber is activated on a new device, your account is deactivated on your old device. This ensures that if your phone is lost or stolen, the person that gets your old phone won't be able to access your account. This is why you lose your call and message history. We recommend that you keep Viber installed on one device, but if you must switch please read here: http://bit.ly/1dapLXE for info on how to back up your message history before deactivation.

You're telling me that you disallow two mobile phones logging into the same account, which is technically possible, because you think I might lose my phone and would want to sign out the other account.
Perhaps then, you could create a button in the interface to log out all other devices.
But no, you assumed what your customer would want.

Yes it work.
Oh is that genuine viber team replying? I do not but the theory of security. I have same account viber on my ph, small tablet, big tablet, 2 laptop and a desktop. Now recently got another phone and decided to use both alternately, viber cannot extend to second ph with sim. If i can fool viber that it is tablet, my problem would have solved.
I just lost all contacts and chat history when i try to install Viber on new phone (with same number). Viber on new phone was also without chat history and contacts. This "security feature" was completly unknown to me, and it is incredibly counter-intuitive and stupid. Facebok Messinger of course worked perfectly normal on both phones., when it was installed on new phone.
Same crap...this is quite not user friendly from Viber... I lost all my chats, and I can only use on 1 device. Shame on Viber.
Same to me. I logged in on the new phone prior to changing SIMs (beacuse I wanted the new phone to be ready when I do so), and every and all messages was deleted without notification. Also, my laptop wanted me to revalidate it with QR. Why doesn't it only warn me there is no fresh backup?
have you tried this? https://www.androidinfotech.com/2016/04/use-same-viber-account-in-two-different.html
I have installed Viber on my laptop, using Phoenix OS, and I lose all the things in my smartphone.
Really bad, just thought it's like in the Windows 10
As soon as I have bought new tablet with android 7.0 installed, I can't have any more viber on my blackberry Q5 and the new tablet at the same time.
I can't post the link because I don't have 10 posts on the forum.
support dot viber dot com slash costumer slash en slash portal slash articles slash 1593168
"Before you start
Download the latest version of Viber on your phone before you add Viber to your tablet. If you don't have the latest version, Viber will not sync between your phone and your tablet."
I need to use viber version 5.6.5.1885 on Q5, because only this version work on BB10 OS, and on android 7.0 tablet I can have the latest version. And when I activate viber on the phone, I am immediately logged out from tablet. And vice versa. While I was using viber on my older tablet with android 4.2.2. installed, I didn't have this problem.
So I need to use viber only on one device.
I don't know, but viber is definitely forcing us with such manners to have only the latest viber, if we want to have synchronized chats, and also in such manners we have to use only newest mobile devices.
Went to install Viber on my old phone while I work on the current phone. Didn't realize phones counted as 'primary devices', and that you can have only one. So as soon as I activated Viber on my old phone, I lost everything on the other phone. Some sort of warning would have been nice... @Viber Team
Viber support is anything but supportive... They cant even understand basic issues like why is there a possibility to use viber primary on phone and secondary on tablet and why cant this be done...
We have to find a new app that can do that
Just want to say that telegram sorted it out in a best way possible. You can have as many devices as u like and never will lose chat history. And viber has much bigger user base then telegram! Shame on you viber! If it isn't that a lot of people in my country use viber I would never install it! Telegram is much better in all things!
