(Q) Camera firmware? - Samsung Infuse 4G

My Camera is not connecting and it fails. Tried lightly tapping to correct autofocus, flashing roms, return to stock, other apps and now finally updating camera app through custom shortcuts and activities but it stops at 99%. Is there anyway to flash firmware or some other solution to fix issue?

(s) I found a solution..I disabled my location in settings. Then I reapplied the Camera firmware update by adding a custom shortcut to camera activities using adw ex launcher. Everything is works fine now. Just Disabling location works too. I just pushed the update for added security.

Camera bug with ICS?

I and a coworker who also has a transformer have experienced an issue with the camera. When changing from normal camera mode to panorama mode the camera fails to initiate and doesn't turn on. It's just a black screen.
Anyone else run into this same issue ? It happens vice versa also, from panorama to camera or to video.

Hmm. Well glad me and my buddy aren't the only ones.
So how do we report this bug officially to Asus is the next question.....

Did you update using CWM? I don't have this bug and I updated from OTA.
Same here
Completely stock, B90, SBK2, OTA update. Panorama closes camera app.

Clearing the camera app's cache allowed me to actually use the camera again.
hope Asus (or devs) fix this, would really like to be able to use panorama mode
For the record, I flashed the rooted zip posted here.
It's fine for me. I used the Full CWM file along with a Format...not a wipe
Same issue here, stock unrooted, OTA update B50.

If the rest of the stuff works it's absolutely not worth it trying to fix it. The picture quality it makes is just crappy. Maybe it's the lighting or I am turning it too fast. This is how it looks like.
Same bug here.
B6O
CWM rooted ics.. wiped all
I never use the camera so happy to wait for fix from Asus..
think we need more detailed info to pin this down because i'm not having this issue with my tf. weird that several of you are.
Workaround Fix for Panorama Bug
The panorama camera bug is related to security>screen lock feature in ICS.
I did a full wipe to get the camera working and then I realized it only stopped working after I had set a pin on it.
Apparently if you set it as a pattern, pin, or password it will cause the panorama feature to lock up.
The only way to get it working is by setting your security>screen lock to "none" or "slide".

Wow, good diagnosis. I'll have to try that see if I can also replicate this fix. Unfortunately I need to use a pattern or some sort of lock code. Prying eyes lol. Oh well. I don't really use my tablet as a camera anyways. I just wanted to show off panorama to someone

confirmed.
I put a pattern and when switching to panorama the camera went black then crashed as I switched to normal.

I can confirm panorama worked after removing the PIN feature. I chose the security locksreeen option of None without issue. When I turned PIN back on, it was the same black screen. According to logcat, I didn't see much other than the camera activity being destroyed an activity pause timeout for the PanoramaActivity.
Such an odd thing to cause camera activity to cease. Why in the world is a lockscreen causing issues with switching camera modes? Oh well. Like I said. I can live with it, hopefully a fix is found and pushed to our devices

Camera app crashing

Hi,
Since roughly a week, my Camera app is crashing after a few seconds of use or after I've taken a few pictures.
At first, other apps using the camera (barcode, goggles, camera360) were still usable, but now even those Crash.
I've tried resetting the app by deleting its data, but the only thing that seems to help is a restart of the Phone, leading me to the conclusion that its not a Hardware failure but a driver one.
Has anybody here experienced the same behaviour or has a solution apart from a hard reset?
EDIT: turns out other apps using the camera are working just fine as long as I don't use the sense camera app, which seems to crash the driver so I have to reboot.
Still shouldn't be the case that the sense camera keeps crashing if your rooted try reinstalling or get another rom onboard. Its not okay in a way to keep using third party..some are better granted but personally it'd annoy the crap out of me that the original camera app isn't working. They do crash but not often...

Same is happening to me now.
Was working fine until a few days ago...
Have even updated to 1.78 OTA, but not dice.

Problem with Camera in AOKP Milestone 6 ROM an d BlindICE v12 ROM

The camera in both of these ROMs stop working after a while. With AOKP, the front camera was inverted and the camcorder didn't work (as shown in the bugs list) while in BlindICE v12 everything was working fine for a while until suddenly the camera stopped working. It won't boot and just says "Unfortunately, Camera has stopped." Please post a fix for the app in these ROMs as I use the camera in my phone quite often.-
Does a reboot fix the issue?

No a reboot doesn't fix the issue.
In milestone 6 from tectas I have tried the camera once and it worked... but today I wanted to launch it but I got an FC.
In the buglist that is noted, so it's not a big surprise.
Fair enough, have you tried a third party app, like Camera ZOOM FX?
Sent from my HTC Desire S using xda app-developers app
I'm running BlindICE v12 right now and I used Google Goggles to check if the camera worked through that; it came in a two-window view with distortions and everything so I closed the app. I tried the camera twice and it started working. The front camera's inversion seems to be acting differently than the one faced with AOKP and the photos appear upside-down while the viewfinder shows them as straight. Very weird trouble, hope it gets fixed soon.

I haven't tried a camera app, but DroidShooting was working without any problems this morning after the download... After playing I was launching the camera app and it worked perfectly, except the camcorder. It didn't start taping.
So the camera is working, just not all the time. For me that's not a big deal, because normally I'm not using the camera anyway
Sent from my HTC Desire S using xda app-developers app
Edit: I was opening the camera app a few times and it always worked, also after a reboot it was working immediately. So it looks like using a third party app once is solving the camera problem, but not the camcorder. The camcorder is still not taping.

Problems with updated Google Maps

Hi! fellow p6200 users. Has anyone noticed a direction problem when using an update Maps application?
I am using the stock honeycomb OS.
Using the maps application that came preinstalled, the directions are normal. it follows where i am facing regardless of portrait or landscape.
problem is, I have observed several maps updates already, and even the latest one would have the error of having the wrong direction faced when in the google maps app.
I would often be 90 to 180 degrees off, so it sometime shows me facing a completely opposite direction!
when I uninstall the updates and go back to the stock Google Maps, everything is ok. the directions were correct. Is there anyone having the same problem? Was this fixed in ICS?

Unlock animation after camera use

Hi all...
I have recently noticed that if i open the camera from the lock screen when i unlock the device, after that, the unlock animation is ultrafast, and not smooth as usual.
I have to reboot to get it back to normal.
Can anyone duplicate this behavior to see if it is "normal" ?
Tx...

Maybe the recent camera bug that Google has reported and is working on for the next update has something to do with what i have reported here...
