I have seen multiple sites who copy and paste my work to their site! If I do not approve of it, then do not do it! it will discourage me from adding updates since it is being used for their own benefits!

I am going to fix it and up and add more updates to it. You CAN place requests and I will try to fulfill it!
If this helped you out, Please press the thanks button and if you want, you can always donate!

I can add in some tweaks. I just had to see where the files flash in recovery. I can't guarantee it'll work either since I don't have the phone. If you guys want to test it out, then I don't mind adding it in.

thanks for that

is this only for the international version? i plan one getting the tmobile usa variant, just want to make sure this will work with it.

As of now, yes. The only thing that may not be the same is the kernel, but I doubt that. It should be 100% compatible. If not, I'll update it of course.

Everything should be fine then. I don't see why the recoveries wouldn't work. Everything is fine though.

Is it possible to flash splash screens without S-OFF?
I hate the blindingly white HTC screen when powering up in darkness... If thats possible it might be a worthy addition to the tool, but I fear the splash stuff resides on the radio.

Depending on what I can upgrade to will affect where I'm going. I personally test all my builds. Typically I could use testers, but I run everything off my phone. That doesn't mean my work is bad, just can't get internet right now.

When i try to flash a recovery it says device not found and nothing happens?
Edit: Found the problem. After unlocking the bootloader it wiped everything and turned off usb debugging, that was why it couldn't see my phone
But now i have a new problem. i cannot enter the recovery after flashing it?
Edit2: Never mind figured it out

fix your connection then, install the correct usb drivers.
how is it supposed to flash a recovery to a device that is not properly connected?

I have been doing my stuff the manual way since I hit the android universe a bit over two years ago, and I'm generally skeptic to tools that attempt to do everything.
Just thought I'd try this one to flash recovery, just for the heck of it. I had already rooted a week ago, but held off on the recovery as the official CWM wasn't ready. One week without a decent recovery was enough. I used this tool to flash pauls interim recovery, and I have to say it was really simple and easy. (Alright, I read only first post, and didn't watch the video. I'm a guy after all, and user manuals are generally tossed aside )
Wondered why the download was so big tho... but a quick look through the folders revealed a good set of recoveries, a kernel and the HTC driver package.
Thanks to the author for a decent tool. It will no doubt help the n00b along just fine on his/her way to root and custom ROMs

Just a suggestion..... The flashtool for sony ericsson phones is really handy because it lets you put your kernels and recoveries and things in a folder, then when you select flash kernel/recovery in the programme it gives a list of all the files in the folder so you can choose which one to flash check it out and see what you think http://androxyde.github.com/Flashtool/ Maybe you can get some other ideas Thanks for this though it works awaesome

I didn't mean any particular boot animations or sounds, but an option so people can browse through their libraries and select it. Then it will flash it or put it in the correct folder. It seems to wary a little depending on which ROM you are on. If it's not to much hassle tho.

If you are able to find animations/sounds, pass it over my way and I will try to see how I can incorporate it. I am trying to expand my toolkit to other devices so I want the Toolkit to be device-specific rather than universal.

Thats a really good idea m8 well done . Wish I had thought of that. But to be honest I dont thik its as easy asa that to do as you would need all the RRU files ?.
Then again what do I know lol .

What is needed to bring it to stock? Just run an RUU and it will flash it back to stock? I can probably do that BUT RUU files are usually 300+ MB. So it will be a huge file.
If you just want to flash ROMs / Recoveries and not Radios, I would recommend using the HTC Dev method rather than S-Off. I warrantied my phone in to T-Mobile over 6 times using the HTC Dev method since we (HTC Amaze owners) do not have S-Off.

[Recovery] TWRP Recovery 2.7.0.x (recommended for 4.2.2)

Hi there, i'm starting here a discussion thread about Team Win Recovery Project 2.x for our HTC One SV.
Team Win Recovery Project 2.x, or twrp2 for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. We started from the ground up by taking AOSP recovery and loading it with the standard recovery options, then added a lot of our own features. It’s a fully touch driven user interface – no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.

As long as i know it will work for k2_u and k2_ul (LTE), cause both have the same partition layout.
This recovery don't work for boost mobile users!
Notice:
This is not my work, i'm not the developer of it!!! I only start the thread here about it because the dev is a russian guy (and i don't know, if he is here at xda and if he speaks english language).
Please be sure what you are doing, when you flash it, bricks can happen and i am not responsible for damaged devices. Do at your own risk!

This patch allows the ability to take screenshots while in the recovery. It has not been merged over to the TWRP source yet so only unofficial builds at this moment will be seen with this feature.
To take screenshots while in recovery just press both the power key and volume down key. The screen will flash. It will naturally store the screenshot in your pictures folder of your sdcard if mounted in either your internal or external.
TWRP Changelogs:
Code:
[U]2.7.1.0
[/U]Built with custom kernel.
- [B]Removed custom theme and reverted back to stock theme.[/B]
- Add GUI option to change or repair file systems on individual partitions. The change is destructive so backup your data including internal sdcard first. This option should make it a little easier to migrate a device from ext4 -> f2fs, for instance. You will find this option under Wipe -> Advanced Wipe, then select only one partition and then press the Repair or Change File System button.
- Various bugfixes to backup and restore
- Improvements to USB storage handling
- Added a class to search for files to make finding the correct brightness file automatic in most cases
- Various other bugfixes and tweaks
[U]2.7.0.2d[/U]
Built with custom kernel.
- Added full SELinux support
- Completely removed HTC write protection.
[U]2.7.0.2c[/U]
Fixed init.rc to allow communication with binaries in /sbin.
TWRP 2.7.0.2c is built ready for SELinux, but the kernel is stock. Until they release the source I can't modify the kernel to support SELinux. This is really only needed for having 4.3+ roms but I want to include it in case the day comes and we see CM, AOSP, or possibly other sources.
[U]2.7.0.2b[/U]
Minor theme adjustment
Upgraded screenshot functionality throughout entire recovery
Note - version 2.7.0.2a screenshots are limited to only the main page
TWRP 2.7.0.2b is built ready for SELinux, but the kernel is stock. Until they release the source I can't modify the kernel to support SELinux. This is really only needed for having 4.3+ roms but I want to include it in case the day comes and we see CM, AOSP, or possibly other sources.
[U]2.7.0.2a[/U]
Built from CM11 and Omni 4.4 sources.
Extended backup options.
1. System
2. Boot
3. Cache
4. Data
5. Recovery
6. Misc
7. Firmware_radio
8. Firmware_q6
9. android secure
*** I think I listed them all ;)
Built in AromaFM.
Implemented screenshot functionality.
Added offmode charging.
Completely updated to fit with 4.2.2.
Includes Holofied Black Theme.
TWRP 2.7.0.2a is built ready for SELinux, but the kernel is stock. Until they release the source I can't modify the kernel to support SELinux. This is really only needed for having 4.3+ roms but I want to include it in case the day comes and we see CM, AOSP, or possibly other sources.
HTC Dumlock Instructions:
HTC Dumlock Instructions specifically for S-On users but S-Off users can use it as well if they choose to:
1. Install the build of TWRP using your method of choice, but you must actually flash TWRP to recovery.* No fastboot booting it.* We need it in recovery so that this build of TWRP will be flashed to your boot.* This new build of TWRP has features in it to easily restore your original boot.
2. Reboot into recovery.
3. Make a backup of your phone.
4. Tap Advanced.
5. Tap HTC Dumlock. (If you don't see HTC Dumlock then you need to remove any custom TWRP theme that you might be using.)
6. Tap Install HTC Dumlock.* This will install the app and binaries needed to make everything work nicely.
7. Reboot your device.
8. Find and open the HTC Dumlock app.
9. If/when prompted, give the app root (SuperUser) permissions.
10. Tap the Execute HTC Dumlock button.
11. Wait patiently for a couple of minutes.* It takes a little while.
If your device doesn't reboot automatically, reboot it manually.* Reboot it normally.* DO NOT reboot it to recovery.
You should now be in your recovery, but your recovery is flashed into boot.
12. Tap Advanced.
13. Tap HTC Dumlock.
14. Tap Restore Original Boot.
Use your recovery like normal.* Flash a new kernel.* Restore a backup with a different kernel.* Do whatever you please!

To sign in there is really painful if you don't speak the language, but as far as i know it does not work as long you are on google translation. The captcha i could only pass with a guy from another board who speaks russian.
The recovery shows 2.5.0.0 but the filename from download page was Recovery_TWRP_2.5.0.1_HTC_ONE_SV.img so i think it is the same.
Kernel can be found here.

And the last question , can i flash the kernel without installing the whole rom?? i mean , flash it in the rom that i update some weeks ago via OTA or have i to flash the ro that you have in your signature? My SV is K2_U , can i flash this despite be for K2_UL devices??
thanks
You can flash the kernel only and also for k2u (i have too).
If you are not S-off, you need to flash the zip in recovery and the boot.img inside with fastboot.
once i have flashed the kernel , what i have to do to delete some system app??
thanks again
Use a root explorer and go to system/apps/ and delete the one you don't need anymore (or rename it first to see if it causes problems).
But be carefull with what you delete and make a nand backup before!!!!!

In the recovery mount SYSTEM. And the button ADVANCED-> File manager can work fine.

No, in JB OS files not be deleted.
Instead, use the file manager in the TWRP recovery.

my phone doesnt boot anymore after installing twrp recovery? do i have to reinstall kernel and system backup after flashing recovery? the problem is that i only have cwm backup available?
As long as i know, you can't restore cwm backup with TWRP. So you need to flash cwm and restore your backup with that.

[rom][05/01/14] Slimkat 4.4.2 beta 2 [UNOFFICIAL][KITKAT]

Frequent Q&A (maybe?)

Q: WHY FAQ FIRST?
A: Because, I have seen some of you guys are so lazy to scroll down a bit to read this as this is essential post I think. And further more, I don't want you to brick your phone because of your lack of reading skill .
Q: Am I advised to do anything?
A: READ THIS CAREFULLY everyone. Since I changed the partition layout for more convenient to work on kitkat or future Android so I advise you to do a oneclick heimdall back to BML first, do a full wipe except for the sdcard and then flash the kitkat zip. Once u r in TWRP, full wipe and flash the build again (with or without gapps) . I might change the partition table several times until I have the good space calculation for rom and gapps tho, so this procedure is advised/required - just took u 30s to do that tho.
I will also mark the zip/update that have another different table that required this procedure then, otherwise, you can update via dirty flash.
Link to heimdall package: AntonX's Basic with a twist kernel [BML]
And here is the recommended procedure:
1. Make backup or whatever u need then copy the ROM into ur sdcard.
2. Reboot into Recovery and full wipe except sdcard.
3. Reboot into Download mode and Heimdall oneclick BML ROM/kernel
4. Flash the Slimkat build from CWM 5.x
5. After booted into TWRP, full wipe and flash the Slimkat ROM again - use the button combo to get into TWRP if it doesn't do it automatically.
6. Reboot and enjoy!
Q: Is this Rooted?
A: Yes it is. To have the Root privileges, Go to settings>about phone>then tap build number 7 times to enable the developer settings, once enabled, under root access, choose apps and adb. That's all. (Thanks to @foxxx5oh)
Q: Why doesn't this have Focal?
A: Because Focal is not available on Slimkat.
Q: Where is 'fix permission' option in CWM?
A: I believe koush decided to throw away the fix permissions button in CWM because he said it was largely placebo effect and had no real purpose anymore. (Thanks to @cpkelley94)
Q: Dahell, I can't use Google Now.
A: I found that all you have to do to fix Google now is get root explorer, titanium backup or SD maid, remove system app Google search and reinstall from play store... (Thanks to @turtlepa)
Q: My battery drains so fast and I found out that WiFi kept awake and running in background even I disabled it. Why?
A: Due to new Android version permission, Google set up a new option to allow Gapps to scan for nearby networks even when WiFi is off. To disable that, go to settings>WiFi>advance>untick the scanning always available option n u r cool again .
Q: Is this really KITKAT? And can I eat it?
A: Yes, yes it is. And u r advised to cook it before eating tho. Enjoy your meal then .
More that has been answered here.

Remember to follow the OPs tho, especially the first one about FAQ. You have to carefully follow the procedure to flash this ROM: Heimdall oneclick back to BML and then flash it. Remember to do a full wipe!
One more: for stability, OC and UV are not recommended. I might revert those 2 features in the next build.

Hmm weird, lets me check the build again, or I might upload my previous build insted (w/o ota support). Interesting that the only change in this build compare to previous one running on mine is OTA suport and it was cleaner build (on mine was dirty one).
Oh wait, did u flash the build again via TWRP? If not, I am sorry that I forgot telling ya that once u r in TWRP, u have to flash it again (u know how to use TWRP rite?)
Anw, u can still heimdall again n flash slimbean tho so dunt worry

Use the Combo volume + volume - and power button to boot into Recovery tho. If u wiped b4 heimdall then after flashing slimkat, it should bring u into TWRP. that was weird unless u hadn't wiped :/.
now again:
- installed fresh 2.3.6.
- installed AntonX-Basic_with_a_twist-v1.1.0-OC_UV
- wait 5~ minute on boot logo !!
- boot on cwm and install your rom
- auto reboot into TWRP
- install rom again
- wipe
- Reboot
- Phone boot into KitKat
Thank You !!!

I added the right procedure onto OP anyway so everyone else should follow it easier. And FYI, u should have OTA updater works from now on for updating the ROM in future. U should receive a notification automatically everytime I upload a new build then. One more thing I have to do is finding a way to include Changelog and mayb look over GPS then .

Bug:-
- lack of some useful cm Features (everyone know that)
- reboot after wallpaper set (once)
- lack of native advance overvlock/underclock options.
- phone connected on USB debugging even after disable from devs options

I'm gonna exclude the OC and UV from the next update anw. It causes more trouble to the stability than it helps on the battery tho. Plus, it's good to let the phone rest for a while, 15 to 30 seconds after every boot finishes to ensure that u won't have freeze/reboot afterwards. and ye. Slimkat just hit the Beta phrase yet, features are slowly merged tho so stay tuned for OTA gift .
Thank you so much for is dao!
OTA works great. Is ART functioning? My SELinux status says Enforcing. Is that a problem?

Fantastic! Downloading..
Ok DEV i may need a spoon-full. Fired up the tool and scanned, it worked perfect, tab information showed-up and all buttons lit-up. Didn't try any recovery options cause i'm already rooted but i had been meaning to install galatab3. Clicking on "Get GT3 Kernel" didn't do anything and neither did clicking on "Gala Tab 3" (tools section) took me to the discussion thread but nothing else. Neither option downloaded the file, so is it something I'm doing wrong?
Downloading odin worked like a charm, i didn't try TWRP or CWM since I'm already rooted.
Reboot recovery and reboot system work. i haven't had a need to try any other functions (yet). Oh, one thing i found inconvenient is the tool is always-on-top.
I do believe if you intend for it to a tool for noobs, you do a separate tool for rooting and recovery only, sort of like a one or two click rooting with only one or buttons to click. As it is right now, there are too many options. And also you can really get in that noob mode and it would dawn on you to put in the instruction how to make the developer options show up in the first place LOL Just IMO DEV.
Thank you for all of your feedback @treetop777
When you click "Get GT3 Kernel," it should download the GalaTab3 Kernel right into the same directory as the program itself.
Once it downloads, if you then click the "Copy GT3," it will then copy the Kernel over to /sdcard/ path of the device. From there, you can reboot into recovery and install the zip file of GalaTab3 from the sdcard.
Please try that and let me know how it works for you. I will try to categorize everything better and lay it out easier with your feedback. Thank you

NP DEV. Will you put out an update? Cause for sure the version i have DO NOT download the Kernel and also, i don't see the "Copy GT3" you mentioned.
You know, now that i think of it, when i hover over the "Get GT3 Kernel" i get a message about the SD card. Maybe you meant that button to read "COPY GT3 Kernel" ?? If that's the case, then it would have to be moved to the tools section.
But first DEV, it has to download the Kernel which it's not doing right now. Unless I'm doing something wrong.
I'm sorry about the issue that you're having.. I am going to look into it in just a few minutes. I will release an update tonight for you.

I have uploaded version 1.0 now, and have fixed the bug in the Kernel download method that I was using.
Please try the new version, and let me know if that fixes your problem(s)!
Once you click "Get GT3 Kernel," it will download the kernel zip, and place it into the current directory of the GalaxyTab3_Toolkit, then the button will rename itself to "Copy Kernel." Click that, and it will ask you if you'd like to transfer the kernel zip over to /sdcard/ on the tablet. Click yes, then once it finishes, click Reboot Recovery, and you will be able to install the kernel zip file from there.
Worked EXACTLY as expected! Downloaded GT3 then pushed it to the internal storage then rebooted into TWRP. After flashing GT3, rebooted into system and the tab is running smooth. No glitches, no problems. What more can i say - flawless!
It's nice to have all these procedures all in one place.
Thanks!

Looks awesome going to give it a shot, lets see if this meets my needs.
Using it now but why no philz recovery?
Update....
Worked great thanks.
One small issue was having to put the device into download mode manually. I was getting an exception error about no root when I chose the reboot download button.
Once philz was installed, I used his root option and then installed supersu and Staricson busybox using smart install. Device is now rooted and I can start modding.
Thanks !
Small recomendation.. allow for the app to use or not use system proxy. Also, app should have an option to not always be on top.

Well, I haven't had the chance to test Philz recovery out just yet, I only included the tools that I have personally tested.
I am going to add an option for all of the updated recoveries that support CM10-CM11! Also, I will add an option to allow it to not always be on-top, too!
I will look into the root-required Download Mode reboot, but it would always fail to reboot into Download Mode for me if I didn't run it as SU.. I'll see what I can do to fix it, because I know that it doesn't require root through a regular shell.
Thank you for your feedback!!

I don't have a T311 to test with, but once I get everything implemented that I want for the T310, I will try to add functions for the T311 for you!
Any love for the t315 4g version?
I've updated to version 1.1 guys, please check the changelog in the original post for more information!
@gx3k - no, I'm sorry, no support for T311 or T315 yet! I think everything is now good with the T310, so I will start working on the other two now!
@Phil3759 & @gr8nole - I added your recoveries to my project, and have hosted them on my server as well for a direct-download method. If this is a problem at all, please let me know and I will remove them asap! Thank you guys for all of your work
Superb!
Echoing what others have said, nice to see everything in one place, had my Tab rooted within ten minutes, thanks for the tool!

Fcking suuuper excited to make this garbage phone just a little less stinky. Thanks for putting this all together!
lol I just noticed I am considered a new member... after 11 years on the site. Must be cause I lurk.
I am interested in an orange fox recovery. But at this point any will do. So, how does one get past the fastboot issue this phone has?
Striking gold once again I see, much thanks and kudos to you, can't wait for release
Thanks alot
I ****ed up and forgot to make a backup of data first. Anyone have the Assurance Wireless APK for activation backed up?

Unless you're still on a Sprint sim,it shouldn't be needed. I'm on the new T-Mobile tower sim and did initial activation on a GSI just fine

sweet, yeah, i think i am on t-mobile, pretty stoked with it so far. unlimited tether data, and now that its rooted, my vpn works. thinking about cancelling my xfinity.
There a step by step guide?
OK got it worked out what rom you recommend for this device there along on the page lol
I'd like a step-by-step guide too. It would save people a lot of trouble if they don't know this particular method of unlocking. Also, is there a way to unlock the assurance sim card for use on other devices?

Assurance locks the SIM to the IMEI network side,so short of commiting felonies no you can't. Good news is the UMX is sim unlocked out of the box,so you can go to any T-Mobile,AT&T or Sprint MNVO(May need to call ASW and tell them to cancel your service for Sprint ). SafeLink is a good choice for lifeline
An AIO ToolKit is about to be released for this device, I wrote it to handle everything from fresh untouched device to fixing a soft-bricked device. The initial release will be removed shortly and this new ToolKit is for Linux...
Thanks for all your work, assurance sent my grandfather a wiko phone, He received a call and from the phone call. the phone was bricked aswell as some chinese ransomware looking malware. Called assurance and their sending this malware infested UMX again, thanks to you though I can get off that malware infested os and onto stock android! Keep up the great work!
tx for this toolbox coming out!
i got this phone via assurance, and indeed, it not only installs many apps/websites with zero user control, but also apps with all chinese characters, and that was right out of the box. a month later i called assurance to stop my service with them, though i've kept this phone. they asked why i was stopping their service, and i just told her it was enough that i had daily apps/games/sites installed without my permission or control, but that some of them were in a chinese character set; this from a phone given to u.s. citizens applying for federal help during covid.
i now use safelink instead, which just gave me a sim for my pixel 3a, much simpler/safer than assurance.
This is an awesome feat. I thank you so much! BUT I do need to explain a couple points from my experience doing this, just in the event that it maybe helps someone out.
I followed the guide step by step but as I have attempted other root options in the past, I think it caused my phone to soft-brick due to those past attempts that I tried with only my own limited knowledge.
So this is my personal experience, only posting for others in the event that someone else has a similar or identical issue. The issue(s) I had were almost certainly not at the fault of the person who wrote this guide, just FYI. For many, their process has proved successful first-try, as you'll see within the comments.
Again, MY experience:
FIrstly, I had to do things differently. So I DID NOT flash anything to the boot partition. I SKIPPED THAT STEP. (Of course this is after my first try when I followed the post's instructions. After my first attempt I found myself in a soft-brick situation. Luckily, I have two of these devices so I was able to rescue the device using the working device's firmware and I only flashed recovery to begin with, and then booted into TWRP, pushed Magisk and installed it...error. Sideloaded Magisk, SUCCESS!
(Always use software from the creator's site/forum, even when you know you can get it here...just to ensure you're getting a safe and up to date version). Once you've got you some Magisk, you can choose to flash any of the recoveries...(I used OrangeFox and TWRP. OrangeFox is prettty cool, but I don't see backup/restore options like in TWRP. PitchBlack wouldn't show my files AT ALL so options were very limited with that recovery.
And other than that, this guide is awesome! I'm now rooted, and I've got LSposed and even changed my font with a magisk module, as well as the boot up screen haha.
Thank you so much to @PizzaG , for not only putting this together but for taking the time to share and help others.
(TAKEN FROM ORIGINAL POST-UNCHANGED): We really appreciate your effort and your sharing with us!!! You ARE AWESOME!

FIrstly, DO NOT flash anything to the boot partition. SKIP THAT STEP. I did this and it bricked my phone. Luckily, I have two of these devices so I'm currently trying to use the other to pull the firmware off, partition by partition, in hopes I can restore the first one with it, without copying over device info....we'll see lol. But yeah, all you need to do if you want this awesome guide, created by these wonderful devs, to work, is just flash the recovery image...reboot into recovery. (You can hold power and volume up until you see the screen flicker/flash, then let go of power or both power and vol up (I don't think it matters) and wala! You've got into TWRP.
Now, either install Magisk off a microSD card OR just sideload it using adb sideload (path to magisk). I used the latest Magisk from their website. (Always use software from the creator's site/forum, even when you know you can get it here...just to ensure you're getting a safe and up to date version). Once you've sideloaded Magisk, you can choose to flash any of the recoveries...(I used OrangeFox and TWRP. OrangeFox is prettty cool, but I don't see backup/restore options like in TWRP. I'm sure it's there somewhere I probably just didn't look well enough.
And other than that, this guide is awesome! I'm now rooted, unlimited data (xposed framework modules) and completely dark-mode across the device (again, xposed modules). I even changed my font with a magisk module and the boot up screen haha.
Thank you so much to the guys/girls/team that put this together. We really appreciate your effort and your sharing with us!!! You ARE AWESOME!

you are false in giving people that "advice" if you were in the test Telegram group for this device, you would surely know that 3+ people have been testing the ToolKit without issue. I post the Telegram link for a reason. So if people have an issue with something, instead of badmouthing an option or feature, you come get live help to fix the real issue at hand, which is not flashing the boot image.
So I pushed root for this device and installed a batick recovery and bootloops, trying the unbrick restore.
