Go with instructions and have fun. And don't brick it.

don't do dual boot as you must place the android in SD card. the performance will go lower than android nand-based.

[Q] Switch between OS on HD2 / uninstalling froyo 2.2 from hd2

Hi,
I am new to this forum. sorry if i repeat the question but I tried looking all over and I could not find any answer for my question, which is as follows...
1. If I experiment froyo 2.2 on my HTC HD2, how do i swith to and forth between Android (froyo 2.2) OS and Windows Mobile OS. Is it easy to do so?
2. If I don't like froyo running on my HTC HD2 because of technical difficulty, how do I switch back to original HD2 operating system, like I never tried Froyo installation (in other words - how do i completely uninstall froyo from the device)?
Sorry if I repeated the questions, but, again as I said, I could not found it on the forum.
Thanks
It actually just runs from the memory card so basically you just have to restart the phone, let it load windows mobile then delete the android mobile on the sd card. Below is the section for android roms basically just download and unzip to your sd card in an "Android" folder there might be more to it, but there is a thread with instructions too.

I had the same question and searching for the answer has led me to your post. I understand that the Froyo system files reside on the SD card but I'd imagine some sort of startup file on the phone itself has to be modified to point the boot sequence to the SD card. Is that correct and if so, what file(s) is modified on the phone? More specifically, I'm researching the Froyo install and want to do it without any custom ROMs, just stock, but I'd like to make sure I can remove all traces should I need to send it in for warranty purposes.
abc12121, did you get any more information on this that you could share? Can anybody else explain what, if anything, is modified on the phone to point to the Froyo install on the SD card? Or how the boot process works?
Thanks!
Superram Froyo not loading
I recently installed Superram Froyo from Darkstone on my HD2. It worked absolutely great for a day. Then all of a sudden, it stopped loading. I tried to repeat the process of booting but all it does is shows the green HTC logo and then the screen goes dark...and stay that way. Any advice or help is appreciated since I was begining to really enjoy it.

First things first
S-off and Root required.
At the moment, Aroma scripted Roms are not yet compatible on slot 2, unless restoring from a Nand backup, which is pre configured
IF YOU WANT FULL DUAL BOOTING ENSURE SECOND ROM IS "GAPPS INSTALLED" AND WITH WORKING INTERNET {DATA/WIFI}
1. ensure your happy with the current state of your main/daily rom
2. NAND - back it up
3. download, install and configure either the free https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.drx2.bootmanager.lite&feature=search_result boot manager lite app
or https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.drx2.bootmanager&feature=search_result the pro version
4. NAND - back it up (not necessary, but advised)
5. download your secondary rom zip
6. open your downloaded bootloader app and slide accross to slot 1
7. install your chosen rom (do not wipe anything on first install)
DO NOT BOOT SECONDARY ROM
8. NAND - back it up, again (if your low on sd space, delete your earliest nand, and then next etc etc)
9. open boot manager when booted, and slide to slot 1, and boot rom
10. "Ta da". your now dual booting,
If you find that your phone can't create boot.IMG , navigate to the root of your sd, find the boot.IMG file, delete it, then restart bootmanager , and it should create it without problems
if you ever run into problems, pull the battery, boot to hboot, select recovery, and flash the update.zip inside the phoneRom directory. It writes your backed up boot image. thanks too $MyName for making this common knowledge
PLEASE READ, ALL INFO HERE
http://init2winitapps.com/stories/BMManual.html
IF YOU FIND YOU CANT SWITCH BETWEEN ROMS, ITS BECAUSE YOUR NOT SIGNED INTO GOOGLE , AND OR YOU DONT HAVE A DATA/WIFI CONNECTION,
BUT DONT WORRY, WE MADE BACK UPS, IF YOU WANT TO GO TO YOUR FIRST ROM AGAIN, JUST RESTORE YOUR NAND
Thanks to Pauly_k , for bringing the app to my attention
Just a Fair Warning!
if yu do this u should understand the risks this brings even as small as they may be. im saying cuz I've dual booted nd got the 5 vibs of death i got it fixed nd up again bt scared the life outta me. buyer beware "hope for the best but always expect the worst"
Thanks for the info. I was wondering how this is possible, seeing as how there is very little space left after flashing just one ROM. However, according the website, it installs the ROMs on your sdcard and runs them straight from there. It will be slower than if you run from internal memory, but it's nice that the option is available.

[Q] How to hard reset along with SD Card for a Custom Rom? [HTC Sensation]

Hi!
I've read the given below pages (1st three links) for installing a Custom Rom on my Android, but don't know where or how to start?
I have backed up all my data... And only now need to do a factory reset, before I ::: backup the whole phone along with OS/ROM (2nd link below):::... then I need to install a Custom Rom on it. This would require rooting, and since HTC has only 1 year warranty, I guess rooting won't void any warranty (which has already gone past the 1 year limit)
So I need to ask step-by-step:
1.: How do I factory reset completely along with SD Card and Phone Memory? I need to completely remove the APPS/photos/music/videos/etc etc on both phone memory and the sd card. So that it seems like a new phone after the factory reset.
2.: How can I root the phone? I don't understand what flashing means, and don't know of any method to root HTC Sensation phone.
3.: Which Custom Rom should I select for my phone? The default stock ROM of HTC has features like "vibrate on key press" and "zoom into focus on touch camera" etc etc... are such features available on the CyanogenMod ROM? I found ::: this page (4th link below)::: which has 4 updated roms, but also the official CyanogenMOD page has a 2012 rom named "Pyramid" for HTC sensation.
That's mostly I need to ask.
Thanks for any help.

Don't follow any of those links. Just don't.
1. SD Card doesn't have to be wiped! You will wipe your phone later on when following guides in here. (However if you still want, you can wipe SD card later on)
2. Once you've succesfully flashed a ROM, your phone is rooted. Don't worry about this.
I read that flashing is over-writing your phones internal memory. It's kinda like 'updating.'
3.There are lots of custom ROMs, and you should select one from here;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1112
Browse around, and see what ROM has the best features for you, and try the ROMs.
Besides, follow this guide, if it fits for you! (Check your HBOOT & Firmware versions to make sure!)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1631861
It is step-by-step guide, and very simple.
I hope this cleared a few things.
