[Q] install a ROM-Samsung Galaxy S GT-i9003 - General Questions and Answers

Hello,
My question is if someone could help me install a rom for my samsung i9003 galaxy s gt since I have wanted to remove the original, then watching different videos on youtube I see roms very interesting but not if they will be compatible with my phone. Specifically I have the following model: SAMSUNG GALAXY S with model number: GT-I9003, with A BAND BASE: I9003XXKPR, a kernel version: 2.6.35.7-CL765780root @ # 1 i dell83 COMPLACION NUMBER: GINGERBREAD.BGKP7.
Let me advise the roms out there for the model and as I do. This afternoon I put a (ICECREAM SANDWICH) to my sister to your Samsung ACE by ClockworkMod + recovery and it worked to perfection but I followed a tutorial on youtube. The truth is I liked the ROM and it works great. I've been looking for my mobile specific tutorials and have not found anything!
Some help?
Thank you!
SUEDE

Good job in searching up this thread :thumbup:
I'm pretty sure if you wander over to your device's sub-forum, you'll find the tutorials you're looking for...
Do note, that the roms available will not be official ones, and you void your warranty if you proceed to install them...

you can do so by waiting til it becomes available, like the rest of us. reading is your friend
If you are new here don't let the curtness of the previous replies scare you away from this forum. These guys have been very helpful to me and countless others. As brad stated read, read and read some more. Also you can use the search function; which has been very helpful to me. Welcome to the wonderful, and sometimes wacky, world of Infuse. It is a great phone.

You are just the guy that #infuse4G needs for doing some tests with the
phone. Come and join the IRC #infuse4G channel on freenode.net
There are a lot of people there who can help you with the custom
gingerbread roms there too.
Tell em that I sent you!

Reset Binary Counter (Warranty Reasons)

*I am not taking credit for this but please thank braway on the Galaxy Note Forums for posting this reset counter zip.
For anyone who flashed any custom downloads through odin,you might notice that the "Custom Binary Download" label (when you are in Download mode) has a number next to it. This is Samsung's way of tracking the custom downloads we place of our phones. If there is a "number" or "yes" next to your Custom Binary Download, you will not be able to send in your phone for a replacement or a repair service (warranty void). BUT, braway on the Galaxy Note forums made a zip file where you can reset the counter and make it look as if your phone was never flashed through odin. Here is the link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1569206
Note that this zip was made for the Galaxy Note but cdshepherd on the Galaxy SII Skyrocket forums tested it out and was the one who figured out that this also worked for our Skyrocket. Also Thank you for zaptor99 for introducing this idea of flashing the zip on our phones.
Wonderful .. here we go AGAIN ..
PLEASE .. BEFORE POSTING, SEARCH .. THIS IS ALREADY IN HERE !!!!

If anyone here is interested there is a functional cwmr on androidforums. Not too many people seem to have this device which is kinda a shame because it's a decent little phone.

Svettius told me if we want an official forum, we need more people to start threads about the device and for more people to get interested in working on it. Spread the word. There is a forum on AndroidForums, but not here...
looking forward for custom roms, I love this device since its capable on cdma and GSM

It's a good job it's a Sunday and I'm in a relatively good mood. You have NOT searched. I used Google for the term "XWLPY" and found more hits than I can ever want.
However, I'll throw you a bone just to be kind. The rest is up to you.

[Q] Youtube weird Problem

Hi guys , I am posting here to see if someone can help me with this little problem :good:
I've recently updated my Galaxy S3 from Android 4.0.1 to Android 4.2.2 and everything went ok except for something that I going to explain now
This is my system info right now :
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
It's in Spanish but I think that is easy to read
Now my problem is this :
It mean that "video format not supported" . It's the oficial app from google , so it's kinda weird in my opinion . I tried clearing cache
Reinstalling...and the result are the same .
Now , In order to check if the problem was flash or things like that , I tried Dolphing Browser and Google Chrome , and in both devices videos runs smoth , so what I think is that the problem is the app or anything that I am missing (plan is not to use the browser..it's an extreme alternative :silly
That's all I know , in my opinion is really weird so I dont have idea how to fix this , so thanks for any kind of help (I would like not to reset for this stupid thing..but if needed...I have no choise)
Well, it appears that you are using the international version of the S3 (GT-i9300). You may have better luck finding an answer that could be related to your device at the section dedicated to your device.
Let me point you to that section: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1563
For the record, this is the device section for the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 (SCH-i535), which is a U.S. variant of the phone; it is much different than the version you may have.
I know this probably isn't the ideal answer you were looking for, but you will definitely be able to have your issue looked at by people who have the same exact phone as you, as this problem isn't too common in the Verizon S3 section.
Edit: I tried to make things easier, and found the thread from where you may have downloaded your rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2248892 . Asking in there may yield better responses.
