i need to know how install cwm because i rooted but missing that

CWM (if I recall correctly) is in the initramfs. You'll have to install a ROM/kernel that has it. There are quite a few in the Development section but if you're new to this forum, phone, or flashing in general, look for Lumin30's guides. They are really good.

Use oneclick gremlin remover, it has built in 2.3.6, root, and cwm

Or you could use the kg4 starter pack
Sent from my galaxy s 4g using XDA app

or you could use the SGS kernel flasher. Lumin has pretty good directions his guide.

I keep seeing you post this. A noob is not going to be able to find a kg4 starter pack. It is the GB Ext4 Starter Pack. And post a link if you really want to be helpful. And lastly, have you tried the KJ6 Heimdall One-Click bhunven made for us or Thomas' Gremlin Remover ODIN One-Click. One-Clicks seem like a better idea for noobs.

also, you don't need to install cwm, you want it.
Your phone functions with the proposed features on KD1.
It is your choice what you want to run.
So please don't go around demanding help. You don't need anything. Learn it yourself, do it yourself, or if you can't like me, then follow the many helpful guides posted by people like lumin, if you can't follow those, then you probably can't handle root.

I guess you missed the point. Suggest it all you want - just refer to it by the thread's correct name so noobs can find it. It is not called kg4 Starter Pack as I previously said. If a noob looks for kg4 Starter Pack they won't find one.

Wanting to rom my sgs4g

I'm a newbie on the board here, but anyway, I hear a lot of good things about changing the rom on your phone, but my question is what rom do I use? Can I use any custom samsung galaxy rom? Is there a difference?

Use roms only in the SGS4G Dev Section. Any others will brick.

Only things on the S 4G dev section can be used. Vibrant Roms will brick your phone.
Use Krylons CWM not Rom managers
Before you do anything.... if you brick your phone (e.g - bootloop, brick screen, etc.), DO NOT freak out. You will most likely be able to fix it. Just search for Odin and use that to get your phone back to normal.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1117554
Check out the Bible. I recommend you check out the Odin flashing guide, then pick out an Odin ROM from the Bible.
Once you have root, you can install CWM and then you can start trying out some of the CWM ROMs. Fun fun. Don't worry, if anything goes wrong you can always just post back. Don't forget to make a backup of anything you don't wanna lose (right now that'd be pretty much just your SD Card)
Thanks for the great info. One more question, is the i9000 the same as the galaxy s 4g?

careful, KF roms had jacked bootloaders that can cause problems. You want to start with a later rom build, like a KG or KH rom. Follow the guide HolyGhostBoy posted above with FB's Ext4 starter pack, and you'll be good to go.
Yeah FB GB starter pack if your coming from either kf build. Good luck with download mode though, you will probably need adb to get there.

Hi Jules,
In order to use voodoo lagfix, you'll need to install one of the kernels that have that ability. I personally suggest using bhndven's
[KERNEL][UVKJ6][BETA3] Subtly Modified Stock with CWM5 + Voodoo Lagfix [12/19/2011]. Just follow the install instructions on his page. It's a great kernel, has the latest CWM (which fixes an issue with GB ROMs not being able to mount/unmount the /system partiton), root, and voodoo lagfix in it.
Once you've installed it, reboot into CWM recovery (either use an app like quick boot, or you have to power down the phone, hold down the volume up, volume down, & power keys, then release the power key after the "Galaxy S" screen gets a bit brighter), go to the voodoo menu, and ensure "voodoo lagfix" is enabled and "/system lagfix" is enabled.
As for the debloater (check my signature for the link), literally, go read FB's page about it. It takes you to a site, you select what you want to remove, it creates a .zip file you download, put it on your sdcard, then flash it from within CWM.
Tnx dude.

The link for bhundven's kernel installs CWM as part of the kernel. If you follow the instructions on his page you'll be fine. He writes good stuff
The only other way I know to install it on Gingerbread is to install one of drhonk's kernels in the dev section. Using the one I mentioned is easier & is the current version of CWM.

[Q] Complete NOOB needs help

I'm a complete noob and I need help.
Like many other I had the bug to do stuff with my phone, I kept hearing about Odin, Flashing... Hey Root your phone. So what do I do? I head to YouTube, watch some videos and be a master of my phone by days end.
I ruined my phone!
I played with Odin, i probably installed the worn stuff. I rooted with superone click, and installed a bunch of junk and it didn't do crap for my phone. As a matter of fact its running the same Froyo and its giving me a bunch of error messages.
Please someone help me, I want to restore to stock, and start from scratch. Odin is not recognizing the phone, I have tried to wipe all data, unroot and it will not unroot.
I don't know what to do.
Thanks!
JorJay
Sorry you're having issues. If you want to get back to stock Froyo, you can use FBis251's:
kd1-stock-sgh-t959v-one-click.jar
If you want to get on stock Gingerbread, you can use bhundven's:
T959VUVKJ6 Stock UVKJ6
Both are based on Heimdall. If you read through the Gingerbread one-click post it will give you directions on how to use either of these to get you where you want to be.
Let me know how it goes.

What? Is that what you would do if you are on Froyo? You need to flash back to Froyo with the KD1 One-Click Stephen linked in his post and follow your own advice. Good luck with that.
And why would you flash a "GB kernel" after Gremlim Remover? You need to read more and bring yourself up to speed.
Stephen actually knows what he is talking about and answered the guy.
Gb is stock now and getting him a gb rom was his original goal anyway. I gave the best answer to achieve his goals ether way. Otherwise in order to get to GB he will have to use kies ( or wait for the TMobile update,) then go from there by rooting.

I'll be nice this time. Gremlin Remover does not flash GB bootloaders for you. Gremlin Remover has a GB kernel and there is no need to flash a different GB kernel to flash a GB rom after using Gremlin Remover. Stephen knows what he is talking about pointing the OP to the One-Click which would allow him to flash GB bootloaders if he chose to change to GB.
Your original post and subsequent posts are nice in the idea of helping others but wrong in the fact the OP would have problems after following your inaccurate advice.
Learn more before helping others. How would you like somebody to give you crap instructions and cause you more problems, especially after a knowledgeable person - Stephen - already answered the guy.
Fare enough

I'll be nice to everyone this time...lol
Gremlink Remover INCLUDES the bootloaders. I also has a pre-rooted kernel. So all someone needs to do to come from foyo is flash gremlin remover 1 click. Then said someone can flash whatever custom ROM they want.
The only thing bot24 is wrong with is flashing another kernel...
My bad, I must have this thing about the Galaxy S kernel Flasher. Probably cause I love switching up the kernels. Probably because it's something I've never done with actual Linux.

I am not aware of a CWM flashable back-to-stock zip. You need to use a computer and either Odin or Heimdall it back. Qkster said to look at his thread and I recommend following that advice. His Heimdall package works pretty well.

dman's uclb3 CWM flashable
I have never used it, but dman's uclb3 is CWM flashable. You might want to read the thread carefully as always.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22775901
When I asked recently about the confusing (to me) comments about video near the beginning of that thread, it was clarified that video depends on the kernel, and those comments do not apply if you have the latest GB kernels from Entropy or Zen ( which have no video problems)
Others are welcome to chime in if I have missed something important.
Man, I've been through about every post there is about the infuse on every site you can imagine. You know you're at the right place when every other site either quotes somebody from here or just straight up links you back to xda. If you can't find what you're looking for with a simple search on here then you shouldn't be doing what you're trying to do or you have a truly unique problem which is rare.
To get to the point, I don't think you can flash back to stock from cwm but if you succeed in doing so, please post your results and how you did it. If you're trying to fix a bad flash or getting the phone ready to sell or for any other reason, there is no replacing odin in my opinion. I know that flashing a ROM from cwm is super easy, but odin is just a hair less easy. Even if you have to borrow a computer, it should take no more than 10 minutes including download time. Thats my two cents. Take it or leave it. Best of luck to you.

Jelly bean ROMs use a different system partition that cwm can't change. If you flash the stock ROM you will get stuck at the Samsung screen.
If you are in jelly bean you need to Odin or heimdall back to stock.

No worries, I wasn’t taking offense to your comments. I was fishing for information about possible limitations of dman's uclb3 CWM flashable GB package (That info did come later in csandman1977’s post where he identified that package won’t work when coming from Jelly Bean.). Please don't hesitate to share your experience and thoughts here.

I think you’re talking about dman's uclb3 CWM flashable.
As identified by csandman above, it won’t work coming from Jelly Bean. I’m not sure about ICS.
I’m pretty sure it would work fine coming from any Froyo or GB Rom.
