I've tried different proxies but it won't work later on my phone or on music.google.com. Can't even download the music manager. I live in Sweden and I want to be able to upload my music on Google Play Music..

Check out tunnel bear. The free version is fine. You only need to use it the first time you log into google music. Clear your cookies first to be on the safe side.

I used Orbit last night (free on the market). There is a guide on here somewhere to set it up to have a US exit node (a thread about using Pandora if I remember correctly?).
Then I used this guide to setup on my PC (as that's where all my musc is stored):
engadget.com/2011/11/19/how-to-use-google-music-from-anywhere-yes-outside-of-the-unit/
Works fine, and looks good, although you have to upload all of your music as opposed to icloud which just recognises your songs and plays it's own version...
tunnel bear won't work for me! damn! i've try a lot of tricks but no one work!
Try what I suggested... I couldn't get tunnelbear to work but orbot worked fine!
It's a shame Tunnel Bear didn't work for you guys. It made it super simple for me. I'm pretty sure TB isn't using anonymous proxies or anything like that, so I guess that would make it trivial for Google to detect people coming from the IP addresses at exit end of TB's VPN and block them, if they wanted to. Perhaps that's what's happening - it was quite some time ago when I used it to activate my Google Music account from Australia.

This could be very useful on a number of levels. Most notably, NBA League Pass so you can watch games that are blacked out in your area.
Here's how they hacked the League Pass app on the iPhone.
http://www.coderetard.com/2010/01/19/how-to-remove-nba-league-pass-restrictions-on-iphone/
I would be down for a similar hack of the app, or a different app that would fake your GPS location. I have the League Pass APK for those interested.
Certainly possible, android has support for "mock locations". You can find it in the development settings under settings->applications
There is some info here: http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/location/index.html
I looked on a rooted G1 and the "geo" program isn't included. Might be as easy as copying it from an emulator to a rooted phone, i'm not sure.
An actual android app might also be able to do it using the permissions
ACCESS_LOCATION_EXTRA_COMMANDS and ACCESS_MOCK_LOCATION.
It is possible to get the name of the location provider when requesting a provider, however, so the app might have taken this trick into account and only allow it to use the true network location provider.
I'm also really interested in this
This would be great, I was about to try to access through the terminal on the phone and try the android.location method, still a little confusing but it just kills the use of the mobile app.
The whole point of the mobile NBA app is so you can view your local team because you are not by a t.v.. Especially my Lakers.
I would also be interested in something like this for the NBA league pass too...
GO CAVS! hahh...
This would be awesome for the android. I can never watch the games because there always blackout in cleveland. GO CAVS!1
Coded this in a few minutes, let me know if it works (I tried to open Maps and it said I was in L.A. )
You have to enable mock locations in Settings -> Development.
It seems to work, thank you very much!!
If you have a Paypal account, I'll happily donate so you can have a couple of beers
Now, does anybody if is there a NBA League Pass application I can buy to watch the playoff games?
Thanks a lot! I have a donation button on my Android apps website

Done, thank you again.
I guess I'll be also able to use this for TV.com app and several others
By the way, would it be possible to keep a list of locations stored? You know, Alaska to avoid NBA blackouts, London to get some English content...
Thank you in advance.
Is this working? I'm trying to watch the Laker game right now. I put in the coordinates and set the location. It seems to be spoofing Maps but League pass is telling me to make sure my location service is on and turn off airplane mode.
Damn, i was hopeful. But pandora still knows I'm not in the US.
Here I am
First of all, I published the app on the Market, so if you want to stay updated download it here.
@reycat: Good idea, I'm gonna add a list of the last locations used.
@CaliLove310: I'm not from the US, could you enlighten me on the blackout rules for playoff games? I read somewhere that they are broadcasted on national TV, so they aren't available on League Pass in any part of the States.
@liam.lah: I installed Pandora, it seems to know your location even if you disable both wireless networks and GPS. I suppose it uses the IP address for geolocation, so you'll need a US proxy to make it work...
Thank you very much, ajejee.
Just updated to the market version, I really like choosing the location in the map, much easier than remembering latitudes and longitudes
By the way, we cannot try NBA League Pass now because of the playoffs, but... can anybody give TV.com app a try? It force closes in my Nexus One every time, but maybe somebody else can try it and check if he/she can watch US TV shows
"Last locations" option added, there should be an update on the Market
Ajejee. Thanks for this app .
Im wondering if there is a reason gps spoofing works but why wifi wont load the videos on nhl and nba apps? The videos load good with 3g connection though.
Stock droid x unrooted.
Thanks for your response.

i'm using the one from the market. it works great with 3g but not with wifi. I get the message "this video cannot be played"
I set the time to spoof for like 5 mins and then load the app when the game starts. Set the spoofed for like Australia or something. Mine works on both wifi and 3g.

Can someone please post the new Google music app.
I live in canada so it is not available to me. Also this is for everyone else who is not in the us.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Probably need to be going through a US IP address though too
Just use market access and you'll be able to download it. I'm in Malaysia and it worked for me
Another way is that enable airplane mode then use a U.S. VPN via wifi connection.
Now you have access to full market.
And sometimes you need to clear data of market app.
No root requirement.

Cool! Been looking for it, although not sure if it will work outside US.
I have a PC in the US and a netflix account, currently I'm on (a long) vacation in a different country where netflix doesn't work.
I want to install some VPN solution on my PC there and watch netflix on my transformer, is there an app that can connect to such vpn and direct all/some traffic through there?
What should I install on my PC? OpenVPN? I don't suppose hamachi can work? I already use that...
Thanks
You can probably use MyCloud (SplashTop), I've tried it before and it work OK.
Follow this tutorial and I got it set up on the first try.

thanks, I saw some old threads about this, but a networking solution feels better than a remote desktop.
Try strongvpn account. Set it up on your eepad and watch netflix without need for PC. Youll need to install netflix app on your eeepad of course.
Root then use the modded system file to watch it directly from your phone

I use playon
It works great. A little expensive but you get hulu, netflix, cbs.com, and many others.

I use hideipvpn (see below), currently on iPad but as soon as next gen of Android tablets will see the daylight I am moving on to one of them (preferably Transformer 2 - anything but Tegra 2 ;-) ).
Plus I would like to use netflix app like on iPad - without the need for any hocus - pocus.
Proxpn is great. If you subscribe to premium you can use their pptp servers without any extra software. You just add a VPN in honeycombed settings. $10 gets you a bunch of US servers, UK and maybe more.

hideipvpn works great for me too!
Google has started limiting Music device deauthorizations to four per year. This is a major issue as you will show up as a new device if you flash a new ROM or even just wipe data and reload, even on the same device. Those of us who flash frequently and use Google Music will be running into this limit very soon. More info is in this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1656038
A petition is available as well. I signed the petition and rather than asking for a removal of the limit, I merely asked them to fix their device detection, as this seems to be a valid middle ground that is more likely to yield positive results.

signed. i dont care about google music, i use poweramp. but i could see this being a huge and very annoying problem for many Android users so whatever i can do to help i guess.
as a work around, I downloaded all of the music I got from Google Music via their PC desktop app, and then use Winamp to create my playlists....
Signed, but when I looked at my authorized devices there weren't any... and I use play music so idk what's wrong there...
Signed as well, I actually use sensor music player not google, but want to help those xda members who do use google music

It only authorizes the first time you play something from the cloud. If everything is local, it won't authorize the device.

Although I don't use Google Music, I can see how this could be a serious problem. Signing.

Just saw that too. I'm sure they'll implement something like what they have with the Market, where it uses some time of fingerprint to recognize the device, even across wipes and reloads. I'm fine with the deauthorization limit if they do something like that.

It appears Google has once again started limiting the number of devices All Access users can deauthorize on an annual basis. This is definitely a problem for us Flashaholics. I searched to see if there was an announcement. I see nothing listed, but I was personally denied removing any devices. Google states I've deauthorized too many devices. I'd hate to go searching for a new music service, but it looks like I have no choice. Your thoughts?
have you
tried using titanium backup pro to revert android ID?
I thought this had been announced a while ago and the limit was 4 times a year or something like that? I remember reading about this before though. Although my understand was that was the limit of deactivating ALL devices and not the individual devices which I thought that was still unlimited. Might have to look around again for that so I can make sure
Edit: I had misread. Here's an article I found from android central http://m.androidcentral.com/google-play-music-now-limits-you-4-mobile-device-deauthorizations-year
I remember the announcement back in August. Shortly after, it was reported Google decided not to implement this policy. Now it appears they decided to enforce their earlier decision.

I used to use Google Play Music just cause I was able to upload my own mp3's, had the same problem of not being able to delete devices...
That's why Spotify is my poison of choice and haven't looked back ever since.. they have about every song I like and more.

I don't have local music stored on my phone.. the downloaded music I have is a few playlists off of spotify for when I'm on a plane and since you can't have your cellphone radios on and even if you could there's no signal..
So I don't know, but I doubt it works as a music player for your local music files..
there's really no need to (unless you have limited data or listening to music on a plane)

I almost jumped to Spotify, until I read that only one mobile device can be connected at the same time. If one device is connected, and another starts using Spotify, the first device will pause. I can see my 2 teenage daughters getting frustrated trying to figure out why the service keeps pausing. Lol.
Google allows all trusted devices to play at the same time. I'm set for now. Google reset the account for me. This gives me time to research some options.
i had a very screwy incident when i tried to deactivate two devices - i ended up getting two notices that i cancelled my service. i did get to reactivate at the 7.99 price though and got it confirmed that deactivation are not per calendar year, but each deactivation is freed up after 12 months.
i've got my m8 listed twice - once for the GPE rom and the other for the sense ROM. anyone know if there are any problems restoring an ID across different OS versions?
Spotify will sync across all devices on the same account. So it's not useful for a family on one account. It's great for an individual person though. I've had music playing on my PC, opened the app on my phone and changed the song from a different room entirely. Same thing works with my tablet. I was streaming a playlist during a BBQ had a friend complain he didn't like the song but didn't want to get out of the chair to change it. I grabbed my phone and handled it.... like a boss.
But yeah, family plan is not possible with Spotify.
@mjs2011 You can use your local music as well. The only stipulation to that is that you have to have a paid account. You can all your own music plus Spotify music to a playlist on the PC, open the app on your phone and set it to be available offline and Spotify will download all the music from them and your own PC to your phone.
Could just be me, but as long as I removed the devices from inside the mobile app it lets me remove as many as I want. If I try through chrome on my desktop or laptop it tells me I have run out of deactivations. Really strange, but I'll take it.

one of my deactivations was via the web for a phantom tablet (listed twice for rom flashing), the other was via the device that i decided i won't use play music for any more. i got two notifications of cancellation of service and verified on phone that i only had 1 cancellation left until oct this year. maybe there was just a bug on that day.
my m8 is listed twice and my gn10.1 twice.
I am cannot listen to my music anymore... Turns out I have already reached the limit for 4 devices every year. Feels like Google is screwing me. Does anybody have any suggestions? I have already tried this tip Cnet (unable to post link since I am kind of new too XDA), but in my country there are only tech support via email (the other one was with phone call) which I have yet to recieve a response). Any suggestions?
it's sad that google passed the blame on to the music providers for having to implement this, but it's their fault for implementing it so ****ty. even amazon's deactivation is better than this crap.

Check out this thread. I started using this app recently. This app will backup & restore your device ID. I've flashed many roms since I came across this app. It works as advertised, and doesn't add to my device count in GPMAA.
Here's what I do. Make sure you backup your current rom first. It's just good practice.
1. Download and install app.
2. Run app and backup your device ID.
3. Copy the folder to your SD card. This is so you'll have a copy should you format your internal storage.
4. After flashing your rom and downloading all your apps. Copy the folder to your internal storage. Do not open GPMAA.
5. Run app and restore your previous ID.
6. Profit.
Like I said, I flashed several rom and haven't had any devices added to my list. Worst case you can call Google and nicely ask them to reset your device list.

IIRC it uses the same ID for your phone no matter what rom you are on
