The Motoblur UI has taken a lot of flak for being slow, cumbersome and “downright useless” as a friend of mine succinctly put to me some time ago. It seems that things have changed for the better, at least with the Android 4.0 version of the overlay from Moto, and if you want proof of that claim, you can try now to know for yourself.
Pulled from a Droid RAZR, the launcher is now ready to be installed on any non-Motorola device, with a caveat that you should be running ICS. It has already been said to work on the HTC Sensation and other devices and there is also a choice of two launchers with different homescreen styles, so take your pick.
Head to the http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1577123 thread to grab the APKs and to get some specific instructions on how to get the UI on to your Android device.

New weather effects?

Can we do this on our HTC Heros? If so, what ROM can do this?

Also interested in this but you can get Beautiful Widgets from the Market. Does the exact same thing.
Beautiful Widgets doesn't quite do it like this though. That has a dedicated screen where you have to click on the weather first, this looks like it is always snowing or raining on the homescreen.
This would be awesome. Beautiful Widgets only affects the actual widget itself.
thats most likely gonna come with 2.1 it was gonna come with the stock hero but they took it off becuase they thought it was gonna make the phone a little laggier?idk but it was on a early release of HTC Sense that never made it when the phone released
It is part of 2.1 the files are called weather wallpapers I found whist digging for all the stuff needed for friendstream

[Theme] Zoinks Mashup (teaser)

There's tons of stuff to work out, I should have the entire theme done tomorrow.
End of the day, it should look like my other theme: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=850372
Here are some teasers (only about 20% compete):

Sent from my SGH-T849 using XDA App

In theory, and if I put the changes in a Metamorph package, it should be usable by most ROM's and across carriers.
That said, I'm working from a Sprint version and will only be able to test on it.
My goal is to make all items in the taskbar white (possibly Gingerbread green as well). I will be themeing basically everything, so you will need a deodexed ROM. I'm uploading one for Sprint now. This will allow us to change Apps as well as the general user interface.

[REQ] Galaxy S clock app

I'm wanting to change the stock clock app that the nexus 1 uses. I remember seeing the clock from the galaxy s phones.

To this
Any halp is appreciated.
That app is the Samsung Home Dock, what sadly, does not run on any devices not containing the TW framework. I've already tried it porting, no luck yet.
The App Is Called "Desk Home"
Even If It's Ported It's kinda useless...
Cannot Launch and/or Set Alarms, Launch News and finally cannot set and/or get any Weather Info at all...
As you understand many of It's features are (Hard)Linked with SGS Framework and It's accompanying Apps and Plugins
Anyways If you want only the Looks, Grab within this Post
Installs 100% and Can Be executed 100%
Tested on Vanilla/Stock Froyo N1, CM 6x, CM 6x Nightly build #2xx and #3xx

CyanogenMod-7.1.0-HeroC Android 2.3.7

I am looking to find out more information about this ROM.
It's been quite awhile since I've been part of any android development because once I got my hands on an iPhone I never looked back at my HTC Hero! Lol!
Anyways,
I am wanting to just ask about the basics before I jump into anything else as of the moment.
How would I go about getting new widgets for this?
-Clock
-Weather
etc...
I am also curious about boot screens that will work specifically with this ROM?
That's all I can think of right now. This ROM works really very smoothly and a lot better then this phone has ever worked before!

Since it's been sooooooo long for me, any kind of useful information to get me all up to date on anything would be great so I can dive back into my development stages with android again.
Thanks for any kind of advice and take care!

[APP CONCEPT] Rom manager redesign.

so i was keeping this to myself as it was going into real development as a new application but before it really took off its development has died so i thought id show you all what i was working on.
basically i wanted an app that would bring roms, kernels and their developers to the forefront; at the same time providing a way to manage your currently installed configs, in a similar fashion to rom manger.
seeing as development has died i've decided to share this as an idea on how 'I' would like to see a rom manager application look. the app was heavily inspired by the google card UI and the android play store. hope you like it and if anyone would like to use the concept be my guest.
i think the images below is pretty self explanatory so enjoy.
EDIT: sorry about the huge image size.
