BT on Sense 4.0 builds - HTC Sensation

Rather than annoy devs on each Sense 4.0 post I thought I'd ask this simple question here as the BT problem is the same on each build.
BT was never working until Mdeejay fixed it (from memory). However, all the builds seem to only have a partially working fix as I cannot get my car to fully connect anymore (fine on Sense 3.6 etc).
My question is...is it a known issue that its a partial fix or do Sense 4.0 BT just not work with all devices. I need my phone to connect to my car and am happy to wait but perhaps I'm waiting for something that'll never happen!
Thanks for any heads-up

Hi,
BT stack is notoriously poor on the Sensation.
I have seen some people using the latest FAUX 005b1 KERNEL on their Sense 4.0 ROMS .
He has had a degree of success in improving the BT stack.
Might be worth a try.

Thanks. Rather embarrassingly I have never swapped the kernel that's already included in the Rom so that might be a challenge. I'll read around and see if I can do it as I like the idea of this kernel having an improved BT stack.

Hi,
Not difficult at all.
MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP.
Wipe cache and dalvik,
Flash kernel like a ROM.
Et voila.

Just worked that out (minus the wiping bit so not sure what I've got now )

Ahh, I see. The faux kernel made no difference and now I know why. Couldnt find that changelog but at least I know a part 2 is likely!

Has any of the dev's been able to slove the bluetooth issues as yet on sense 4. roms or near to solving the issues.

BT Fix?
Same here, like most Sense 4.0 Roms that I have tried out have been almost near perfection right up until you get to the bluetooth part, like it really bugs me cause i'm normally on my BT majority of the time. Does anyone have any idea of an ETA on the fix? Cause I really would like to go back to Sense 4.0 instead having to use Sense 3.6 still

One rule of CyanogenMod which probably applies here is don't ask for ETA it is done when its done

Eta = when it's ready/fixed.
That goes for ANY project on xda/rootzwiki/etc.
It's not like these guys are getting paid to do this, nor is it their job title of "developer".

Anybody know of a 3.6 rom that has working bluetooth voice dialing?

I agree. And for clarification, I didnt ask
I know I could just check the change logs on the each Rom but is there anywhere I can go to see progress or updates on this issue? Something about rootwiki but no idea where to look!
Thanks.

Changing the bluetooth stack in Android?

How easy/difficult is it to achieve this feat, and is it a kernel dependency? Main reason I ask is that Sense UI is almost perfect, but it's BT stack is the only flaw, and for some a glaring one. How would one going about replacing HTC's deficient version with, say, Koush's Cyanogen Mod version which seems to work flawlessly? Thanks in advance for any answers or insight!

Simple answer is no. You can try a CM based rom that gives you those options but the stacks cant be swapped due to driver problems. It is a give an take. The Default has better strength and range but is missing a few unneeded option (PO), while CM uses Bluz stack which gives you the option but you lose some BT signal strength and range.

CM9 nightly builds?

Does anyone know what device name they will be built under, if they get built at all? Currently pyramid isn't listed in the mirror network, though I figured our device would've been supported now. Builds have started, so I'm wondering if ours is just under a different name. I would love to have an aosp ics rom.
I would recommend http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1408351 if you do not want to have Sense.
I´m Cm9 come soon!!!
Ive been running V2.0.1 since its release and its almost flawless, the only mino bug is when u receive a call while the phone is locked, there is nothing displayed on the lock screen. If you can get round that then its a perfectly good daily use ROM.
I've been using virtuous, and yeah, i love it, the reason I asked was because it'd still be nice to have pure aosp, but this will definitely hold me through. This is the best senseless rom I've used.

I am eagerly awaiting CM9 stable. I expect it to be a while.
Is the bluetooth fixed in Virtuous yet?
I hate to admit it, but I'm now addicted to my bluetooth devices. I'd love to go to Virtuous, but I really need that to work. Until then, I'm stuck on Gingerbread ROMS.
(Yes, I realize this is an ICS bug and not a Virtuous bug - I'm not hating on Virtuous)

[Q] Bluetooth vs Sense 4

For a couple of weeks now the RUU for the HTC one S is out but i still can't find a ROM with bluetooth working. How is it that this still doesnt work and any other feature (hardware) was fixed within 4/5 days.
besides that, why are like 5 and more roms which all contains the RUU of the S, and futher only a downloadable kernel. I dont see the difference in a those roms, except for the developers own opinion of spamware. I believe there is a rom which uses install menu, so why not do the follow:
- make one basic rom
- fix what gotta be fixed
- and make a install menu where you can choice all app's to be installed. where only maps, telephone, message, play and browser is basic (maps since is not downloadable)
no offense but for me (as a noob, i can't deny that) it looks like where wasting time just because people are donate- & thanks- horny, where the mean goal should still be offering the user costumized or fully ported roms
well, when the fix comes out, every chef will put that on his rom...so, if you can't find a rom with BT working, is means that there is no fix out...
for your "ideal rom" I agree, there are too many customised roms, i like the stock feel (and I use arhd), if you want something like that I think that ordroid is the best stock like rom...is not working just bluetooth...
I still use arhd until an official relase of sense 4 will be relased...
I am also anxious to use sense 4, but the source has got bugs in it, and the chefs are helpless on this.

Mainly coz the user's don't post logcats?
If someone gave me a logcat of Bluetooth turning on/off in settings it can help pin down the file causing it then reference what has changed in Sense 4 to sense 3.6 then hopefully get it working.
As it is it will be difficult because the Bluetooth for sense 4 is Bluetooth 4.0 whereas sensation us only capable of Bluetooth 3.0 so there is probably a huge variation in the files

didn't it worked at the RUU of the one X, which also had bluetooth 4.0?

[Q] ROMs with Zero Issues?

So I haven't really been following the MyTouch4g Slide Rom scene that much and after going through some of the threads, my question is: are there any roms et with no issues/bugs?
I was thinking about finally rooting but I'm not sure if there's really any reason to yet as I'm not gonna install a ROM that still has issues...
Thanks
Right now Bulletproof is a go for a ROM where everything works. Cyanogenmod 9 is SOON to follow along with others. Take a look and read around tho. Major breakthroughs have been made and things are really looking up for us!

thanks. i actually recently switched to at&t and a htc one x, but i'm still within my return window and might return it all and switch back to t-mobile and wait it out for a while... the htc one x has some stupid multitasking issues and if they're not cleared up (either officially or by some xda geniuses) soon, i'm jumping back. maybe i'll give bulletproof a try.

Try the new Miktouch 0.7 ROM. It is based on the latest OTA (1.63.531.2) and IMO is the most functional ROM available. And it is very smooth and quick, great battery life. The improvements that HTC made to the ROM, as well as the tweaking and cleaning up that the devs did, make it my daily driver. I want everything to work, no "gotchas".

Hello,
I can recommend Virtuous Inquisition to you. Its an ICS 4.0.3 ROM that I am running on my HTC Doubleshot since round 2 weeks and its really good! Till now I did not have any issues with anything but some minor things (once in a while you lose WiFi connection which you can enable again just by switching WiFi off and then on again. This happens only if you do not use WiFi and the phone falls sleep mode - the screen turns black).
The configurations are limitless. It comes with NOVA launcher. I bought the premium version and am very happy with the capabilities and possibilities it gave me!
In case you want HTC Sense, you can check out Virtuous Primadona. I did not try this one but read quite many reviews and its also stable and seem to be running nicely on Doubleshot.
The good thing on Inquisitin is, the WiFi calling is integrated. As I am from Switzerland it took me a while to finlly remove it ^^
Cheers

I have been using Bulletproof for months now, and have seen no issues what so ever. Everything works, including Wifi Calling! I have tried alot of the roms here, but I need my rom to be perfect, that is why I keep coming back to bulletproof. I am hoping CM9 will soon become perfect enough for me so I can upgrade to ICS, but it still isn't perfect enough for me. Go with bulletproof.

But if the Wi-Fi continuously disconnects when the screen goes off and must be reawakened to work, that really defeats much of the function of Wi-Fi Calling. How can you receive calls if your wi-fi is disconnected?

I agree that is why I stopped using inquisition...... I am happily using cm9 but if you want three zero problem roms then stock I suggest mik mik v.7, for a beast gingerbread the rubix ics splashed, or if you want ics with minimal issues then cm9 untill the soft keyboard issue is fixed on aokp then I would switch to that.... I am going to do the same once the issue is solved

Which Pyro? 1.1.3 and 1.1.1 work pretty good except for a few annoyances....but those annoyances have work-arounds.
Personally, I am on Inquisition until CM9 gets as stable or better than Inquisition.

Hi sorry for the late answer, I am on my finals right now and it's getting harder to find time...
Virtuous seem to have some issues with wifi, though I was talking with tbalden and he said he's working on kernel 3 atm which shows no issues with wifi or 3G / 4G... So let's wait for the next upgrade
For me wifi works good, sometimes it bugs a bit though... Don't forget here they are stil in ROM development so some minor things are not perfect.
You can still try Virtuous Primadonna, got an update a few days ago. For me Cm9 did not work so good, force closing many apps, changed back to inquisition. I suppose we'll have to wait for another month or so to get a rc rom (Cm9, pyro, virtuous or another..)

BulletProof is a great ROM. Along that same design idea is DoubleShot Lite by Ceede. Another you might be interested in is Miui v0.3 and those are just the Gingerbread ROMs I've found to be rocksolid and near flawless. Then you have some really nice ICS ROMs that are coming along NICELY! Believe me, you won't be dissappointed with any of them unless you just happen to be looking for a little issue hidden somewhere.
So tbalden released kernel 3 vinq (ICS 4.0.3) for doubleshot: virtuous.prp2.com/doubleshot/inquisition/virtuous_inquisition-v4.0.2-doubleshot-kernel3_v2.zip
Very recommendable, everything working, very stable, oc to 1.7ghz like Cm9...
As wifi is working also w/o any issues now (at least for me), I assume you can use wifi-calling with vinq... It's integrated btw.
Hope I could help you

[Q] A question about ICS roms

So I recently got Cyanogenmod 9 for my Sensation and I love it so much! However, I do in fact have one concern. Is there any way to fix the audio routing issue? Are there certain ICS Roms out there that don't have this issue? I flashed over from ARHD because of Bluetooth stack issues, that was good enough reason as it is. Now I have a whole-nother problem.
Every time I use an apparently that uses a microphone, the audio gets VERY quiet! Almost inaudible! I know that the Nightly CM builds currently have this issue, but are there any other stable ICS Tom's out there that don't have this issue? I love ICS a lot and don't want to abandon it. If I end up leaving CM until a stable build is released? Fine. But for now, I'd really appreciate some input to see if there is a way around all of this.
Thanks.
I use Ordroid with sense4 and I can confirm that the Mic works fine. Speaker is loud on speaker options. I don't have that issue. It's a Ics rom with sense4. It's a excellent rom however tethering does not work. Other than that It's fast and stable . Lots of customization options , aroma installer, and tweaks. I personally love it. You might want to try it if you can't find a fix.

Does Bluetooth work? How about wifi hotspots? I use Sixaxis controller ALOT and want to make sure I can keep it that way. So Ordroid goes back to the original Sense look?
Bluetooth works on Ordroid, so i suppose six axis should work pretty well without an issue. as for WiFi hotspot, yes it does work, although wired tether doesn't.
the look of sense on it is sense 4, latest sense by hTC...that can be found on the One series.
