Im not sure whether this has been mentioned before, but i found that the long press delay for the commonly used characters like "?" and numbers take too long of a press to get it to pop out..
is there any mod to reduce the dely to like 0.5sec?
nobody?
213 views and still nobody
I can't beleve that there are only 2 people interested in shortening the delay

I have been experiencing this on my 5Days old Sensation XE.
When I scroll on the conversations list on Go SMS, it stutters. Same with some lists ex. Adding widgets at homescreen. What should I do? I don't want to get disappointed.
What screen do you have? Is it auo? Its a known issue for auo panel, they call ghosting issue. But for my xe, i like it. Its like special effect

I have noticed on my Sensation while scrolling sms it does lag for the first time.. and the rest it gets alright by scrolling up and down...
Does anyone know the fix?
That's what I'm experiencing also. The rock.
I need some help please.
It's partly sense 3.0. Root and upgrade to 3.5 and it will be smoother but I doubt you will ever get rid of some occasional micro lags.
I already upgraded to a Sense 3.5 ROM, still lags on Go Sms.
I'm really disappointed, as my XE is just 6 days old.
CyanogenMod~
Still, some lags on lists, like when scrolling on when adding shortcuts on Go Launcher.
Anyone know how to fix this problem?
How to fix 2D scorlling? Please?
There is no fix. You need to wait for ICS with full hardware acceleration, until then there always be some microlags..
Sensation has powerfull hardware with really unoptimized software..htc gpu drivers are just top of the iceberg..

Is it guaranteed that there would be no scrolling lag on ICS?
I was wondering what kind of tricks and tips you could tell to keep the sensation as fast as it was before installing any apps ?
i know its not possible unless i wipe it off but i'm a heavy user and want to know what kind of tricks out there to make it as fast as possible.
i'm sick of HTC green logo white screen "Loading..." everytime i hit Home button or return to any of the homescreens from any app which takes 5-10 seconds to finish
in the same time i dont think it worth going to sensation XE to benefit from the 0.3Ghz CPU power
u could try launcherpro and keep homescreen in memory. This should help make ur homescreen snappier.
There is a fix for that add this line to the bottom if build prop
ro.HOME_APP_ADJ=1
Had same issue this sorts the issue

I can root and do all fancy stuff if that speed things up, been playing with my HTC hero in the past and loaded all kind of stuff with it.
after rooting which ROM do you recommend? read another thread talking about sense 3.5 would it be better? I'm a huge SenseUI fan, actually can't live with it
Sense 3.5 has its perks one thing let's it down is the video sound its horrible
Sense 3.0 is old but its solid n video sound is great if u turn stero sound off
But its all down to personal preferences

I've got a question where i can't find the answer to when i use the search-option on this site.
I have a HTC Sensation XE, all recent updates done.
When i'm browsing the web and i push the home button i allways get "loading" on my screen. (For about 10seconds). How come the phone seems to be slow when i do that? Is it a problem with HTC Sense? Will it run faster on Go Launcher or is there an other solution for my problem? I like the apperiance of HTC Sense so would prefer to keep using it . If anyone has a solution i'll be happy to read it.
Thanks in advance
Best solution would be to flash a custom ROM or root it at least and change a line in your build prop to prevent from doing what you describe.

I think that happens when Android automatically kills HTC Sense as it needs more memory.
Using Golauncher might solve it. Or you could set the built in task killer to be more aggressive.

Depends what ROM you are using, I think on Gingerbread you could use the Spare Parts app but not sure.

To do so i must "root" the phone right ? Thanks for your reply.
No, you don't need root for the spare parts app. There should be other apps on the Market that do similar things too if Spare Parts doesn't work.

Most of the time my phone is very fast indeed
It's just when something is loading in the browser or when you're playing a game (Angry birds in this case) and i push the "home" button, than i have to wait a few seconds until the home-screen is loaded. You can also see that the clock settings (24hrs) reload at that time. (clock is displayed first in AM-PM-mode)
Greetz and thanks

Spare Parts didn't solve my problem. The white screen with HTC logo appears sometimes followed bij "loading" on the home screen.... Of anyone had an idea to solve this.... I'll be welcome to hear...
I removed antivirus app and now its seems solved

There is actually a thread on this because I was able to explain to the person why your phone in fact does this..
A lot of the time you will unwittingly have a few browser windows open, each page you have open roughly uses about 10-40MB of RAM depending on the rendering, flash etc.
When you hit the 'Home' button, your phone doesn't actually close the web browser. It just puts it as a background application. The chances are that your phone doesn't actually have enough RAM to switch from the Browser to Sense and so it kills sense and reloads it.
Custom ROM's do not have this problem as they have RAM optimizations, however I'm sure if I opened 5 windows and opened YouTube in every window then hit the home button, that I'd have the same problem.

For now it seems fine. Removing lookout anti-virus made everything faster I tried to make it happen again but phone stayed smooth and fast. I hope it stays this way now.

It just happend again. To much apps open and it happens. I will try moving apps to internal memory as it would help Android closing them to free RAM....
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio Z715e using xda premium
With too many apps open it happens again. Must be a memory and closing sense-problem. Is there no possibility to select programs like Sense and 3g-watchdog to remain allways open? Movings apps back to internal memory seems not possible with the software I've got....
It doesn't matter where the apps are, it's just the stupid RAM.

I'm afraid do.... Would replacing Sense with another app solve this problem ?

After installing a sense 4 port I noticed that the messages in the stock app were very large and there wasn't anything in message settings to change it.
However, I found out by accident that you can pinch and zoom to resize. This also works in 3.6 Roms.
Hope others find this useful.

Really? Thanks man. I'll try it when I change back to sense roms. This is one of the reasons why I didn't like sense roms. that one is off my list then.
Thanks

I used a rom from this site that had everything i was used to set.
Now i installed other ones and want to get it back to how it was.
It was a basic rom, no see through objects just basic stock version type rom
It had sense 3.6
extended power options (had screenshot options here)
extended quick settings
The boot video was android riding on bikes
I also remember it used rosie tweaks and had sliding buttons to disable and reenable wifi..etc
I have installed a few versions of roms today including sense 4.0 which i do not like at all and want to get back to my old one which i cannot seem to find.
I have installed 3.6 if anyone has the above or a pack to install them all at once and a tutorial that would be great.
You are talking about baadnewz' ROM. Last I knew, he left the sensation for galaxy s 3. He is not cooking for sensation no more.
