[Q] CM9 high battery drain overnight - HTC Desire S

Hello!
I've installed CM9 update from 09.04 and I'm getting HUGE battery drain on it.
Like, this huge:

9h 47m from battery, 36% screen but it's on for only 37m.
Wifi is on for like 100% of the time, but it was fine on previous version of CM9.
I tried calibrating it, did a cache/dalvik cache wipe prior to updating ROM, even did a full wipe. Didn't work.
I'm going to try BetterBatteryStats this night, any other ideas what may be causing this?

Looking at the first screen shot you posted, Wi-Fi isn't your only problem. Yhe drain you got was;-
36% Screen - should be zero overnight unless you leave you phone screen on doing something
21% Wi-Fi
16% Mobile Data
15% Something to do with the power (not sure as I don't run ICS)
Ny first suggestion would be that if the previous version was working better, go back to it. ICS is very much a beta software and each version will fix some things and may break others.
If that's not an option then try to work out what application is running in the background doing this. To me this looks like you might be in a weak Wi-Fi point, so the phone keeps dropping it and switching to mobile data - but to have the screen on as well surely means there is an application running, trying to access the Internet, which keeps on waking up the phone.

It's not Mobile Data (if you mean 3g internet connection), it's mobile network connection. Mobile Data is turned off.

I'll try BetterBatteryStats this night. I think it shows background apps that eat battery.

I was like "hey it's an update from previous version, nothing can go wrong", so i've got no backup.
Thanks for the help though.

I'va installed new build, here's what I got:
I think that it's my phone spends too much time in "Awake". Some app is blocking sleep mode, but I saw nothing it in BetterBatteryStats.
And this is the data from System Panel app:
I have deleted all apps like weather widget and IM+ which may cause it, but no luck. Any idea what can I try? A full wipe maybe?

Me too
I always update to latest nightly and am running 20120423 which has massive drain. Its very annoying and even tried different roms as it was bugging me so much but ended up coming back to CM9 as its my favourite but I have noticed the last several nightlies my battery wont even last 8hrs and that's with light use. There seems to be something draining the battery but don't know what ? Hopefully they will fix it. Until then I am willing to carry a spare batt (

Had the same issue with CM9 Alpha - April 14 build - ( posted about it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1613151 ) and the last nightly nk111 posted. The nightly actually eked out a couple of hours more for me.
After being a little stumped by what betterbatterystats was trying to tell me, I basically wiped and reinstalled with no apps on, only gmail on sync, screen down to 1/4 brightness and wifi always on, cpu gov at conservative. Still lost 10% during the nite and down to 43% after 3 calls (total 30 mins), snd/rcv 4 emails, 20 mins browsing on stock browser and an hour's worth of messaging via sms.
Love the rom, its so clean and ICS was a major reason for me to make the effort of rooting etc. I'll let the devs work on it for now. Back to Reaper for me, but going to try blindice tonight, let's see if that shows a difference.

After trying out blindice ICS I can say the results were much better. Made real world use of it and took the phone to work (yea I mix work n play lol).
Settings: CPU gov set to Interactive, brightness at 40%, wifi always on, auto/push sync only for hotmail app, whatsapp, calendar and gmail.
Usage: Made 11 calls - 41 mins talk time,
recvd 39 emails sent 26, mostly via hotmail app
72 texts via stock sms and whatsapp snd/rcv,
gps fix for getting some directions on gmaps,
several manual updates of twitter and fb apps,
downloaded various apps from the store,
synced a few notes via Evernote and photos with dropbox,
saw a youtube vid on its app,
saw an mkv ep of Simpsons on MX player,
listened to several flac songs,
took a few photos incl a panorama,
browsed the verge, xda and some other sites via chrome,
used skype for a 5 min video call,
played a game for 10 mins,
and generally played around with the phone and launcher settings as one normally does when they have something new
Have 7% batt left after almost 21hrs of use.
Going to stick with this for now as the rom itself has been speedy and smooth and the batt life is pretty good so far amongst all the ICS rom's I've tried (for me atleast). Haven't had any F.Close issues or crashes and it seems pretty stable. I just saw blindndumb uploaded a new build with a network patch so the only possible issue seems to have been resolved! Will revisit CM9 after a while I suppose.

[Q] Whatsapp message delay problem

Nearly on every custom rom I have used, whatsapp is not working perfectly. My sent messages and messages I received are delivered very late sometimes. I do not use wifi sleep setting when screen is off, wifi is always on. And if there is no wifi, mobile data is on. When I reply a message, then the conversation is ok and occurs real-time. But if I don't touch the phone for a long time, incoming messages are not received instantly. And if I start a conversation my sent messages are not delivered for a long time (again sometimes).
Has anyone had this issue? And if it is common, can you propose a solution?
Don't have any issues on my phone.
Are messages still delayed when you use a different wifi connection? Is background data enabled? Have you tried clearing data and reinstalling?

Generally I suffer this issue on my home wifi. But sometimes it occurs outside with mobile data on. What settings should I check in my home wifi settings?
I flash a new rom with a clean install once in every two days. So I install whatsapp again when I flash a rom. I also tried to clear data, uninstalling and reinstalling. But it is no use. I have this issue for 5-6 months.
So the issue is with your home network? Is your wifi set to always stay on during sleep?
If there is such an option in your router, try increasing the bandwidth prioritization of your device. Also change your security to WPA if you're using WPA2 since it uses more advanced encryption algorithms and may be causing network problems with your device.
Bear in mind that the issue may also be with your ISP.

Wifi is always on during sleep.
I also checked the modem security, it uses WPA.
It is so annoying but I guess it is not fixable easily. Even whatsapp shows a warning when installing that says `on custom ROMs you can experience problems.` So I do not have a big hope but someone can come with a solution, so I will wait till then.
Whatsapp works perfectly fine on all of the custom roms that I've tried. Maybe your ISP is throttling Whatsapp traffic for some reason, perhaps you should call them and enquire.
Honestly though I still think there are too many variables. Does browsing on your phone work fast? Have you tried connecting another device with Whatsapp to your wifi?
I took part in an identical thread to this in the General forum a while back. I'm not even sure if the OP actually resolved his issue, but we became fairly confident that it was either his ISP or his network hardware causing the delay.

I know there are too many variables and I do not have a clue. I do not think it is related with custom roms. I specified it because I didn't use the stock rom too much and there is a warning when installing whatsapp with custom roms. But now I don't think that's the source of the problem. It is because of the wifi network or because of my ISP. My friends with Android devices also have this issue when they are connected to my home wifi.
Browsing on my phone is OK.

This is exactly the same problem I have. Thank you for the thread. I think it is a rare occasion and related with wifi settings or ISP. I will try to check router settings if there is any unusual setting and will report if any.

It's not supposed to be. I couldn't care less how many 'thanks' I get, but I am getting more and more pi$$ed-off by seeing noobs here who seem to be incapable of pressing the 'Thanks' button, but insist on typing 'Thanks' in a thread instead. Maybe the settings for XDA should be changed, so that until a new user has created 50 useful posts and thanked at least 10 times they have their 'noob' status removed?

Your in idiot. If i write thanks or hit the thanks button then you have been thanked. Stop forcing people to do things.
You dont deserve respect if you ask for it. Earn it, if you dont get tough luck.

The 'THANKS' button is there to stop people filling up threads with useless posts and to stop you getting modified of a new post in a thread unnecessarily.
Unfortunately newbies don't seem to realise its existence and a subtle reminder often helps. Given your stats you haven't taken much part in the XDA community, but how many times have you been notified of a new post in an interesting development thread and when you went to read it you found it was just someone who had posted 'Thank You' instead of pressing the button?
If you've got a problem with me, next time bring it to me on PM where it should be :banghead:
P.S.
'You're' not 'Your'
'an idiot'
'I' not 'i'
'don't' not 'dont' - twice
i think the problems here is the 'deep sleep', when the phone is in the deep sleep, most of the application not running(just guessing)

[Q] Is my GPS broken?

Got an S3 a week ago, coming from a Nexus. Took it home and rooted and rom'ed it with AOKP M1.
Used the nav for the first time yesterday, and I literally had to have the phone in my left hand within an inch of the window or it would lose GPS.
Tried all the tricks
FasterFix, Faster GPS, GPS Toolbox
Tried this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1880810
I can get a lock if I am outside usually, driving is very challenging to get a lock. Had the same type of issue with my Fascinate and ended up exchanging it before it finally worked.
Will I need to do the same here?
I have not tried it stock, stock sucks.
I have not tried either of these yet, but wondering if it's worth even trying to polish a turd or move on.

I remember when I first flashed aokp or aosp I had same problem. I had to go back to stock TW and get gps lock and then flash aokp/aosp. Same thing for nfc. Not sure if that is still the case. Haven't been on aosp for a while now.

Its had lock on the stock image, just never really used it to nav.
having the exact same issue as you, tried most of the fixes/apps from the play store. almost wondering if there is a hardware issue. does anyone know if swapping in a gps.conf from say stock ICS would improve performance in the jellybean vrlblk3 leak?
Back to stock now, and it's not any better.
Stupid thing has to be almost touching the glass or outside of the car to not drop GPS. I am going to call VZ and get a replacement sent out.
a vz rep told me to power down the phone, pull the sim for 30 seconds and try to get a lock again. it worked for my wifes phone but not mine. vz is overnighting my replacement, but try that sim card method though
What I did was take off my case. It is a basic rubber case which I'd love to have, hut it really lags my locking. So once I did...I get like an instant lock now.

I was having GPS problems. I was finding satellites but not locking on and stuck in the "searching for GPS..." mode. I tried everything -- clearing data, the AGPS patch, flashing modems and new ROMS.
SOLVED: Odin stock.vzw_root66.tar. Then, do a full factory reset by typing *2767*3855# into the dialer. This will completely wipe the internal storage, not just /data like in recovery.
From there, your SGS3 is basically as good as new, and you should be able to set the GPS up normally.
Edit: I think the problem has to do with the VRBLK3 bootchain. Keep that in mind when reflashing.

Completely agree... I did the same about 5 days ago. Have not had a problem yet. I have been testing it multiple times a day. Locking is very good after root 66. I also used triangle away before Odin to reset flash counter.I am afraid to install a custom recovery now. I really agree that it has something to do with the bootchain and custom recovery.

i may try this soon to help confirm it works. i already have a replacement being sent to my house since i had already tried "everything else".
both my wife's and my phones lost GPS about the same time before the JB update. no ROM flashing or and crazy apps were being used. just stopped locking.
For you guys on CM10.1 and I would guess any AOSP based build, this commit http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/29531/ should clear up this issue of GPS working for some and not others. Looks like if you flashed a rom and had GPS turned off at the time, your GPS could get locked in a way that made it not function properly anymore.
Looks like this commit will be in the next nightly, but I made an unofficial CM10.1 build yesterday with it, if you want to give it a try and see what happens.
http://d-h.st/4zP
Got my replacement and locked on right away from inside my building.
Are you saying that if I flash again its going to screw up again?
This thing is so laggy compared to AOKP's 4.1
I got my replacement and flashed a pre rooted Rom, installed recovery with Rom manager, unlocked the bootloader with ez unlock then flashed beans build 8. No GPS problems whatsoever. I get a lock down to 3 meters within 10 seconds

Turn on wifi first before using gps. You'll get a lock on in seconds.

The new phone with Beans 8 is locking instantly, this ROM is amazing so far. Thanks for pointing it out.
Simple mechanical GPS fix involving tightening the back frame of the phone
Hi,
I have a simple GPS fix that worked for me. I'd like to mention that the solution may not work for all but it did work for me after I tried just about every fix possible. For example I flashed back to stock, performed numerous battery pulls, used many of the AGPS patches, made numerous edits to the gps.conf file, reprovisioned my phone, checked different ROMs, uninstalled/reinstalled Google Maps, cleared data for Google Maps and Google Service Framework, and so on.
I tried all of the above methods because my GPS would take forever to get a fix both indoors and outdoors (I know it usually takes longer to get a fix indoors), wouldn't hold the fix while navigating and my GPS apps kept stating "Searching for GPS", would see 20+ satellites but would never lock on to them...man it was really frustrating. I just about gave up.
However, as I was trying to follow another procedure to fix my GPS which required me to pull my battery I noticed that when I removed my back cover that the back frame that has all the screws was slightly loose on the left side. Once I tightened them all up my GPS worked immediately! I've tested for a day and I consistently got a lock on the satellites in about 2-15 seconds depending on my location. My navigation also worked and wouldn't cut in and out.
Like I said it may not work for everyone but I would recommend that if you have a GS3 definitely check the back frame of your phone and make sure everything is secure. I've tried my GPS on the stock and CM 10 stable ROMs and I have achieved GPS locks consistently.
I hope this helps. Maybe this has already been shared but I figured I would post in case some of you haven't seen it yet.
Cheers.

[HOW TO] Fix GPS Lock issue with Jelly Bean 4.1.2 Update for Motorola Atrix 2

Hello Guys,
I know many people here are wondering that how to fix the GPS issue after upgrading to Jelly Bean 4.1.2 I have been searching for a long time now and last week I found a proper fix for this problem at last
The GPS problems people are facing after upgrading to 4.1.2 JB are :
1. GPS taking a long long time to show my location
2. Maximum time it shows that unable to find my location
3. Even if I use Gps Fix or GPS Fix Delux application, I have to do the fix everytime I turn on my GPS, reboot my phone, if I'm not using GPS more that 1.5 - 2 hours
It's Really Annoying . . . Thats Why I came up with a brilliant solution of this which whill need fix for 1 time only. You will never have to fix your GPS again.
The Steps for One Time fixing the GPS issue:
1. Download this Application from play store : GPS Status - Test & Fix
2. Go under open sky
3. Open the application.
4. If you see that your Latitude and Longitude are not Showing, then your GPS is not working.
5. For that case, 1st tap on the "Reset GPS"
6. Then Tap on the "Get Xtra Data"
7. This will take 5-10 mins of time to completing the fix. But make sure you are under open sky and You are Connected to Internet. To get the Xtra Data, the application will need Internet connection.
8. After a while when you will see that the application is showing your Latitude and Longitude, you will understand that your GPS has been fixed. You will never have to run this app ever again. From now on your GPS will get auto locked to your position.
Enjoy

This 'Xtra data' thing is in "GPS Aids' as well. But it does not stick forever. Are you saying now after using the tool you mentioned, anytime you are outdoors just opening say for example Navigation or Maps you get a direct gps lock within a minute or so without making use of additional gpsfix apps ever?
Can you post your gpsconf file here after you have used this app?

Yes brother it worked for me even if I do reboot my phone or turn on my gps after long time keeping it in off state, it just auto lock my position. Yes sometime tough it takes a little time, but I never have to do gps fix again. Also as you requested I'm attaching my gps.conf file here.
You can get it from here: https://www.sugarsync.com/pf/D1732447_087_30755727
P.S.: It took almost 1 minute and 29 seconds to lock my position.

Ok I used this tool today and I tested it randomly through the day before I came to commenting and I second your post that indeed this thing has been the best so far of all tools I used for the gps fix. The reason I had asked for your gpsconf file was to see values this tool wrote & yours is the global ntp pool, I have mine manually edited as the India ntp server. On second use it did refuse to lock but thereon the results have been nearly instantaneous :good:

Really happy to know that it worked for you brother, sometimes it take 2 minutes to lock the gps. Don't worry just wait it will be automatically locked

Worked perfectly, bro. Thanks for the solution. I must say JB 4.1.2 absolutely rocks!
Thank you worked for me too! I recently purchased GT-H9500 (S4 clone) I'm pretty sure I checked the gps when I got it a week ago and it worked. I rooted a few days ago and it did not work.
The app took about 15-20 minutes. it was interesting watching it, first it was 0/0 then 0/1 then 0/2 etc, finaly the screen populated with similar data above.
the magnetic field is "not available" for some reason

Hi,
I have tried "GPS Status - Test & Fix" in my LG Optimus L5 II Dual E455 phone and it didnt fix the issue. I got the phone 2 weeks back and only first time the navigation worked. I think i did an update software for LG the first time and I think it stopped working after that. I had tried the "GPS Status - Test & Fix" several times, also restarted and reset the phone couple of times. it hasnt fixed yet.
Any other suggestions would really help.
Thanks in advance.
An Update:
Now my GPS is working. What i had tried is i went to LG Customer Support and they swaped my Sim 1 and Sim 2 as my Sim 1 was earlier in roaming. Then they enabled my Data Connectivity instead of wifi and were able to get the position in the google maps. But my GPS application "navfree" and "GPS Status-Test & Fix" were still not able to fix the Satellites.
So, i came out disappointed. Then i travelled with my Data Connectivity enabled and used "Google Apps" for navigation for one whole day. Then i tried the "GPS Status - Test & Fix" and few other GPS fix apps and they all started getting the satellite fixed. Now, i disabled and tried the GPS app "navfree" for past few days without Data Connectivity and its working.
So in Summary to have it work :
1. Swapped the Sim's
2. Enabled Data Connectivity in the non-roaming SIM
3. Use Google Navigation for a day with it
4. Run "GPS Status -Test & Fix" in open sky and reset old data and get new GPS Data.
5. GPS satellite got fixed
6. Turned off Data Connectivity
7. Tried NavFree app.
8. working for past few days without issue and without data connectivity.
Hope that helps for other users. Also, thanks to "isaumya" for providing the initial solution.

Interesting I find this post today as I am in roughly the same boat, except I have owned the phone for a couple of months now and was beginning to think it was related to a software update. I may try restoring an earlier version and seeing if that fixes it.

Can only speak for Motorola Atrix 2 & the one & only final fix for the damned gps lock issue is by a user called 'ghittone', that is the only one that works & nothing else, period!!
thanks
Thanks dude.. I works...!!
Hey, the "Get Xtra Data" for me works really fast, not even close to 5-10min you said. How do I know it's working?

Hi,
I did what you said. after sometime it shows the screen you have shared, however whenever I start that app again or even try to navigate using google map problem remains as it is

[APP][4+] SkipLock Beta - Skip the lock screen (Formerly Unlock With WiFi) 4/17

The app is now live on Google Play.
Thanks to all my beta testers for helping me iron out the wrinkles. I will still post beta versions here when I have new features that need testing.

Tired of entering your password all the time? SkipLock lets you skip past the lock screen when you're connected to a designated wifi or bluetooth device. When you're at home or in your car, your phone is safe and you don't need to be typing in that damn password all the time. When you're connected to your wifi network, or any bluetooth device, you can go straight to the home screen when you press the power button. You can even have it keep the phone unlocked while you're connected to a bluetooth keychain or headset. As soon as the phone gets out of range, it locks.
This is a public beta. SkipLock is a complete rewrite of Unlock With WiFi. Why rewrite it? This blog post explains the reasoning behind it.
Here are the new features in SkipLock:
Pattern and face unlock supported on rooted devices
Completely redesigned Android 4+ user interface
No background service = less memory usage and more reliable
No status bar icon required (but it’s still an option). Tray-only notifications also an option.
If you have notifications enabled, you can now tap the notification to instantly lock the device
Even more cool stuff coming later
Many of the existing features from Unlock With WiFi will also be in the new app. Some of them are:
Automatically turn off wifi when leaving home
Automatically turn on/off bluetooth
Automatically turn on/off sync
WidgetLocker integration
Lock delay has been removed because Android 4+ supports it natively now
If you have a bug to report, press Bug Report in the app's menu. This will send me some diagnostic information that will help me figure out what's wrong. This is the quickest way to get a response. You may post more general questions in this thread, and I will try to answer them, but bug reports sent directly to me take precedence.
SkipLock requires Android 4.0 or above. Root is required for patterns and face unlock. Only PINs and passwords are supported without root.
SkipLock FAQ
The FAQ is now being maintained on my website.

sorry about that! it is the first release of the beta, so please bear with me. can you email me the log file? it's at /sdcard/SkipLock.log. send it to support at benhirashima dot you know what.
Crashes
This seems like a really great and useful app. However I can't seem to access it. Every time I click on the app it just crashes.

Seems to work fine on my Nexus 5.
Only tested the WiFi setting though, not bluetooth.
Are there any plans to unlock with NFC too? I should be getting an NFC ring soon and I'd love for it to work with that, so when I grab my phone there's no PIN/password but when others get hold of it it requires a PIN/password.

i would love to do that too, but unfortunately, the NFC reader is not active unless the phone is already awake and unlocked. that goes for most phones anyway. obviously, there are some exceptions, like the moto x.

True, but there are plenty of custom ROMs and even xposed modules which allow you to enable NFC with the screen off or with the screen on and the phone locked.
Still, if it's not something you're willing to add, there's nothing I can do to change that. The app works great as it is.

hmm, that's interesting. maybe i'll look into it when i get a chance.
Installs now.
Will give it a whack when i get home
It works!
My phone was locked and by adding my WiFi network as an exception, the phone was automatically unlocked.
I'll test it out tomorrow when I leave my house and when I get back to see if it re-locks when i leave my wifi network/unlocks itself upon reaching my wifi network.

great! thanks for the feedback. try to test it with bluetooth too, if you can.
Also work on my SGS3 Omega v51 4.3

Is this time limited?
I don't know how you did it, but this works on stock rooted HTC One with pattern lock! Your previous app and some other apps do not, but this one works perfectly! When does this beta expire?
Take my money!
Side note: does not work on nexus7 with CM 10.2 (4.3) pattern always shows even when skiplock notification says its unlocked. Going to submit report from app
Thanks for this! I have missed this function since using HTC One. And will use this on my Nexus 5 when it arrives too

Yes, the S3 supports nfc from the lockscreen on some ROMs
My Feedback
Thank you for this great little software. You can also achieve this with software like lama or tasker. But I dont need such big toolkits. So your app fits perfectly on my device.
Here are my thoughts:
* starting an app when a network is in reach - great for car-users to start their favorite mp3-player etc.
* simple geofencing to re enable wifi/bluetooth
* turning on/off different system profiles (so you dont have to take care of all settings...it´s all build into the os)
Keep on coding!
working great on note 2 4.3 keep it up bro!
thanks for the feedback, guys. good to hear it's working! for those who asked, yes it's time limited. the current version will expire at the end of november, but if i feel that more testing is necessary, i will update the app and extend the time limit.

Viber battery drain after A13 upgrade

Hi there,
I need some help or advice. I have upgrade to A13 some days ago and apart from the crazy battery drain with "Phone Idle" and "Mobile Networks" I am facing a weird Viber drain which never occured before :
Shows and 20-30% battery consumation with 15-25 hours "alive" and only 2-3 minutes in background.
Ofcourse this is nonsense the real usage is the 2-3 minutes and not the 15-25 hours
I have wiped cache , and done a uninstall re-install but nothing happens.
Viber is the no.1 battery consumer in the app list.
Any advice,guys?
I am already very disappointed with the A13 drain with "Phone Idle" and now this Viber issue comes up Heeeeelp !
Why are you reporting a viber bug here?

He's reporting it here because its a13 problem on our device not vibers.i have p6p and i have the same bug. does anybody have a solution?
This does not have anything to do with the P6.
It is an app issue and needs to be reported to the developer of the app.
Exactly. It's a well known problem with the latest version of Viber across many devices. So stop spamming irrelevant stuff to Pixel 6, or else.

How come it only showed up after A13 uprade? On A12 Viber was normal, with A13 its a mess with massive drain
You cant be serious this is not A13 related.....

Because Viber app is maybe not updated to support A13.
Several apps need an update to work under A13.
In my case, DJI Mimo needed an update to v1.7.26, after that it started correctly.

I see this is a bummer. However I feel that this is more like a Google issue not Viber's fault but we will see. My battery life
is tragic, worst ever in my 10+ years smart phone usage...
Looks like your feeling is not shared with the moderators, it was moved to general.
Beside that, maybe check Google whether others reported the same problem and maybe offer workarounds.

I tried to check but could not find any workaround so far and this is very annoying that it is the main consumer. (APP)
Top drainer it is, next to "Phone Idle" I have been trying to find a workaround but none so far or I have been bad with searching...

Look into this topic, the section "RECOMMENDED AFTER UPDATE". The first 3 items could help, but you should be familiar with "platform-sdk-tools" and ADB commands (also how to open a command prompt in Windows).

I did some of the settings and no, I am not familar with "platform-sdk-tools" and ADB commands.
I am a regular user not a tweaker. Unfortunately nothing has changed. Phone ide is 35% in 8 hours in flight mode
and Viber is still top consumer APP Insane ! I am really fed up with this A13. Battery cant even last 24 hours
using flight mode for the night. : (

The recommended "DISABLE" bits and parts. Did not really help. Still heavy battery drain and Viber is no.1 consumer APP-wise otherwise its "Phone Idle" 30-35%
No, I specifically said the 3 commands written in "RECOMMENDED AFTER UPDATE". The others may help, but not for ur problem.
One command specifically deals wit re-compiling all the apps which could help with overheating and battery drain.
The other one deals with battery drain.
"Disable" bit and parts could cripple your phone if you don't know what they exactly do.
And don't focus on how much 30-35% for Phone idle writes.
If your phone used for example 10% battery, the 30% of these 10% were drained, but not 30% of the battery.
Cheers

Alright. Can you tell me what to do and how to do with these 3 commands? I will perform but I would need some step-by-step help if possible
Enable USB debugging on your mobile. Download the platform-sdk-tools and unzip to a directory.
Connect your mobile to a PC, and open a command prompt.
Type adb devices, authorize the connection on the mobile and then type the commands.
All this can be easily found, here on XDA and internet.
Cheers

Great. Many thanks, man. I will wait for the september patch if nothing happens I will do these steps.
Viber is still no.1. consumer staying on top with 25% consumation with bogus data
Phone Idle is 35% with 18-20hours standby which is insane. This A13 update was a catastrophe in terms of battery life
Google won't fix Viber. That's a Viber problem.
So far Viber is developed up to API 30, Android 13 is API 33.
