Hey guys, is there anyone around that have heard of Ting? It's a cools mobile provider that works off of the sprint network. I was wondering if there is anyone who has worked with their phones, changing the meid, and all that.
My father has a transform ultra and wants to use that as a doner phone, but I have heard that 3g and 4G don't work. Again, just wondering if anyone has dabbled in this

I am moving to the UK in a few weeks. I am currently with T Mobile USA and was wondering if anyone knew how will my devices work over there. I know i will need to get them unlocked but i have a few 4g phones and dont know if they use the same service there. I have the following devices, MyTouch 4g, Samsung Vibrant and Samsung Vibrant 4g, galaxt tablet.
Thanks in advance.
I believe you can call t mobile and let them know youre moving and they will let you know what to do.. If I'm not mistaken the gsm band is different in uk so they csm tell you if your phone if compatible..

Hey there, just about to buy a Galaxy S 4G online. I know the T Mobile Galaxy S works on Wind Mobile. Can anyone tell me if the GS 4G will work on Wind Mobile with 3G. I understand I won't be getting 4G speeds as Wind currently doesn't have 4G. Thanks.
i have a simple question, is it possible for a infuse to run on both networks (att & verizon) or if you wanna get more techy about it is the infuse campatible through some sort of unlocking to acces gsm and cdma networks?, i know the answer is most likely no but i just wanted to see if anyone on this amazing forum would say otherwise
Not possible....Verizon is a cdma(evdo)network and att is hspa ...you can run att on T-Mobile and reverse...but not verizon

So I am currently with verizon (CDMA) and I was interested in checking out what the GSM Galaxy Nexus offered vs the CDMA version and to see if it had fewer problems.
That got me to thinking. Are phone makers and rom devs leaning toward GSM network phones? I know they can be used on att, tmobile and sprint but I don't really know if it is any better or worse.
I also figured out that the way cdma phones treat their software is a little different from gsm.
I know GSM iPhone is faster than CDMA iPhone

The thing that got me thinking about it all was like I said, google released an unlocked gsm version. I know it doesn't quite work the same with cdma networks but if google is willing to throw one out there, maybe they want to start something with all this.
Everything seems to be gsm, idk what's happening to cdma

I was wondering if you guys could help me understand something as I don't know much about cellular carriers. I currently own a Lumia 920 on att and was looking to trade it for a galaxy s3. I found someone who will trade with me, but he is on Verizon and the phone is with Verizon. I applied on att for an unlock code so that he would be able to use it, but I'm not sure how the whole GSM vs cdma works. What would I have to do to make this swap work if that's even possible?
thanks in advance.
It is cdma vs gsm networks. The gs3 on Verizon can work on gsm networks but was not designed to be utilized solely on a gsm network. I would stick with s phone from your current provider
