HI.
There is a new widget on Google play called "BlingBoard".
BlingBoard lets you monitor your emails, Facebook/Twitter feeds and your text messages (also missed calls) all from one little box on your homescreen.
So if you are looking for that kind of widget you should give it a try.
there are good reviews on "TNW" and on "Androidcommunity"
Enjoy.
Mod Edit: Here's the link - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jappka.blingboard
Downloaded it and would like to say...... Please make the widget have the ability to be transparent.
sweet! i'm gunna try it out right now!
+1 for transparency
there is an update (v1.20) that includes transparent theme.

Themes are not sticking when changed for me.
I'm getting a error when I try to download it.
Method1911 3D
Not compatible to HTC Flyer running Android 3.2.1 (Honeycomb).
This is a great idear! Here are some suggestions from me:
more widget sizes: I would like to see more content
set another App as standard Facbook/Twitter app (Friendcaster f.e.)
possibility to set if the different channels are split in tabs or sort in a timeline (from top to bottom)
also see old Mails (I can only see the new ones)
So, thank you very much for this great app and your hard work! This are only suggestions and you can ignore it. Just my thoughts...
Not compatible with Galaxy Tab 10.1
But awesome looking widget, great colors and graphics.
Galaxy S2 ICS (LPQ)
Widget installed fine and all feeds state active in settings but widget shows no feed information.
any ideas??
AWESOME
Just some feature requests:
1) Make it resizable (as requested previously)
2) Make the tabs SCROLLABLE (like Tabr)
3) Make it able to link to native apps (as also requested previously)
4) Need more themes. Perhaps you can support a freemium model via themes
Very nice, thank you, I finally uninstalled facebook and twitter application. Widget needs more settings. I would also like more tabs, like another email and rss. Furthermore, having calendar and weather tab would make this widget the ultimate one
is SMS tab only for stock SMS app ? .. i use gosms and new sms are not being recognized .. but overall .. an awesome app.
Just let me link it to any app that i prefer then this would be gold. This and fast facebook go well together, if it can be linked.
CLICK HERE for a quick IQ test
This will go well with my ICS / Xperia UI

I am having no luck getting this to work. Gmail says it connects fine but I do not see any data. Facebook just hangs and Twitter also bombs out on both my tablet and phone.
It also seems to really hate Landscape mode and is dying when I use my keyboard on the phone.
Think I will stick with Pure Messenger Widget for now. No tabs but it does get me the info I want on one widget.
Epic!
Downloaded it and its top class, nice one!
really?
tried this out and quickly deleted it after realizing:
1. you cannot re-size the widget
2. the widget is super small and only shows 1 update at a time
3. not a super big deal but no g+
4. you can't make new posts
It does look nice but looks only get you so far
Very Cool!
Whatsapp and stock mail support would be a dream... as well more widget sizes would be a fine thing!

Hey do anyone know of a good news widget to use other than the HTC news widget and the genie widget?
Sent from my Sprint Evo
Try BuzzBox
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Looking for the same..I tried Buzzbox and it sucked..Couldn't find the feeds I searched for and wouldn't show news items but from one feed.
I use gReader. It takes all the feeds you have set up through Google Newsreader and syncs it on your device. The adding a new subscription directly from the application is a bit weird, but it works.
Pretty fast too although I don't think it caches graphics until you open the item.

Well I can just use the HTC News app for that, it works great. I got used to the widget though using Sense the first week or two after I got the phone. So looking for an alternative widget.
I personally think the HTC News widget is too bloated. I prefer the Genie Widget -- not only does it give accurate weather notices, it's also got a great news aggravator.

Where do I find it, I know I found it somewhere before but didn't see it in the market.
I'm also trying to find Genie in the market, but can't seem to locate it...has it been removed?

any other scrollable news widgets? or any way to trick the sense news widget to work with launcher?
No scrollable news reader widgets I know of and I can assure you I have looked everywhere and likely tried out nearly everything out there. I would like nothing more than to dump Sense but personally, I think they really hit the mark on some of their widgets and their seems to be no equivalent in the market. The guy behind LauncherPro has been doing a great job rolling out similarly functional widgets but no ETA yet on the NewsReader.
Lot's of folks seem to really like the Genie widget which comes on the Nexus One but with no way to choose the specific feeds you want, it doesn't work for me.
Buzzbox has potential and is the only non-Sense news reader with a full screen widget. That said, it still leaves a lot to be desired and was deleted without prejudice. It's buggy, articles were OLD (16+ hours), and it was missing a lot of feeds. I sent an email to the developer and in his response implied that the servers at Buzzbox pre-scan the sources to only send you the "best stuff." WTF? Isn't that the job of the editors at the respective sources...?
gReader syncs feeds from your GoogleReader account and is definitely one you should try if pulling from Google Reader is what you are looking for. However, if you are looking for a bit more customization I would recommend trying out Feedr, NewsRoom, and Greed2. They all have "widgets" but that is using the term loosely in comparison to the Sense one. Personally, when I am running a non-Sense ROM I use NewsRoom. Again, it has widgets but they are really just shortcuts. However, in my opinion (and of course, this entire post has been all my opinion) I think you'll find it has the nicest layout of what is available now plus customizable feeds.
This was taken from the leaked engineering rom of the HTC Vision (G2). I confirm that it's working on my Evo.

Any new features?
If you'll click the link:
"...The new Voice app isn't really any different except that it includes two nice widgets! One is an inbox preview widget, and the other is a controls widget that allows you to go to your inbox, compose a text, access settings, and turn on do-not-disturb right from the widget."
Thanks for the heads up. I won't really use the widgets, but it'll be nice to have the updated version.
No more voicemail error on setup with the evo. Sweet.
Widgets are working great on my Evo with LauncherPro. Thanks for sharing!
it works but its very sluggish for me whne showing new messages or showing new sent ones. anyone else experiencing this? i didnt install it however, i added it to a custom gapps and then flashed it after a fresh wipe.
Apparently the dialer button on the widget doesn't work with Sense ROMs.
The best news about this widget is that this means widgets can now access the Google Voice warehouse on Android which means someone can actually code up an "new notifications" widget or add it straight away to LauncherPro.
Great news, indeed.
Many thanks for this. Running great with stock.

Unless I'm missing something, the official Reader widget is not resizable or scrollable (which seems crazy since the Gmail widget is!).
Any recommendations on a scrollable RSS widget for HC similar to the Gmail widget (preferably free )? I see there are a few in the Market, but I thought I'd see what other TF owners find works best.
+1
would like to hear others suggestions as well!

I'm the developer of Scrollable News Widget and received my transformer a few days ago. I found this thread while exhaustively browsing the theme and apps forum. I regret to tell you that SNW doesn't work at all with HC However i don't intend to port it because there are already a few very good similar widgets, namely Wizz and News360, the later i tend to prefer.
I use Wizz widgets. (used to be called colorize). Superb widgets and resizable too.
Market link
I highly recommend Reader HD. It's built specifically for Honeycomb and the widget is scrollable. It looks and acts just like the YouTube and Market widget, but only gives you headlines with their attached images. However you'll forget all about the widget when you get inside the app and see how beautiful it is. Full Google Reader API integration and it behaves just like the Gmail application with your article titles on the left and full article on the right. Theres even swipe controls to get to your next article, and turning things portrait makes it full screen with swiping getting you to your next article. It was everything and more that I was looking for in a Reader app. It is 1.99 Canadian but worth every penny in my opinion. I wouldnt be surprised if Google snatched up the developer or straight up copied their work for a Reader Honeycomb update of their own.

Hi guys, I have searched around, but I have not found any conclusive answers, so I would appreciate your suggestions.
I am simply looking for a calendar widget that would essentially rest on Google Calendar BUT display things better or "more properly" that Google Calendar's own homescreen widgets...
So far I have found "Simple Calendar Widget" as an option but do people have any other recommendations? And just to re-iterate, I want something that is light does not take ram/use a lot of battery, is stable...and clean/not overly complicated to display my events from google calendar,
thank you and cheers.
I use Pure grid calendar. It can be complicated to set up but simple and theme able once set up.
Though I think its paid.,
Please dont ask questions in general
The one I use is simply called Calendar Widget. It's nice because it combines both a monthly view and an agenda view, and I really like the way it looks on my home screen.

+1 for Pure Grid Calendar, I have been using this widget for years and never had a problem! There's also many skins to choose from so you can get the look you want
My vote is for Jorte

It costs a few bucks, but is well worth it. Updated regularly and very customizable once you learn the ropes.
I use this agenda widget for all my jobs booked in - very useful for me

Personally never had a problem with Jorte, maybe I'm just lucky.
Synced FB birthdays, F1 race calendar and Arsenal fixtures all to my Google calendar, everything displays just fine. massive range or widgets (I prefer an entire homescreen to display a month calendar)
On the rare occasion I setup a manual calendar appointment, sync and reminders work ok too.
(For anybody who may have followed the play store link, just noticed the childish screenshots they use. Hope that doesn't put people off! The built in theme engine is extremely versatile, perfectly capable of looking professional as well...)
Try UpNext, used it for some days now and I like it very much.

One of the nicest looking I've seen so far....
Event Flow Calendar Widget
Thank you everyone, I will try these and let you guys know which one I personally like best. Again I am looking for something that is not so much a full fledged calendar, like Jorte is, but a widget like app that links to giggle calendar itself. And I also did read about Jorte having problems.
I really wish that PureGrid had a free trial as well. And from reviews it seems that simple calendar widget had some bugs, at least in nexus 5, but I will try all these and post results. Thanks everyone.

Thank you everyone for their input, I just wanted to say that I chose "Event Flow Widget", because it is the most beauitful I think in general and goes well the most with the Nexus 5/Kitkat theme. Of course there is a catch to their app: If you want to customize it more you have to pay $.99.
As for PureGrid Calendar - I never got to try it because it is not free, nor is there a free demo one, so it must be great given the positive feedback it has, but I can't say anything about as I was unable to try it.
Calender Widget: Month+Agenda, was very good, and the good thing is that it displays your agenda and calendar in one widget, something I do not necessarily need, but for those who do it is an excellent choice. However, I Believe that this app is also not free and I am not sure how much it costs after its 7-day trial.
Jorte: I tried Jorte and have no major complaints other than that they can update it a bit to match with the times, it should have resizable widgets. In any case I did not need a full-fledged calendar, I just needed a calendar widget, so Jorte was not really for my needs.
Calendar Widget by Milan Sillik was also impressive and nice, again, I chose Event Flow because it just looks more slick, but I believe Calendar Widget may have more options packed in both for calendar purposes and widget customization, so its a must-try. However, again, if you want to unlock all its options such as transparency settings you have to buy the Pro.
Simple Calendar Widget was ok...but I did not like it as much as the Event Flow Widget or the Calendar Widget by Milan Sillik.
UpNext Alpha: I did not try it due to a malware comment on the reviews....so...got nothing to say on this.
So yes overall winner for me is Event Flow Widget, and I also really liked Calendar Widget by Milan Sillik.
Thank you everyone
persianrisk: thanks for compliment of my app
My favorite calendar widget is of course mine - Calendar Agenda Widget - it's free, simple, beautiful and has plenty of customization options (some of them are paid). On of it's most useful features is custom reminder functionality - you can set alarm on any event, and it will ring like phone call or alarm clock at morning I think it's pretty unique on whole market.
Another good widget is my competitor Event flow CW I must admit that it looks good - maybe it's because it looks quite similar to mine widget, (looks like author was inspired by mine app - however this is my personal opinion which can be far away from true).
"Time to Rebel"
With the recent changes Facebook has made to make us use the Facebook Messenger app, ive taken a next step to start building a Java based Chromeview built specifically for Facebook allowing you to message users the way its always been. In a nutshell, Fellow is a WebApp based on Facebook Mobile.
Here it is
Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.NxIndustries.myfacebookfree
With the recent update, I focused on Media uploading and Java scripting and for the majority of Kitkat devices, it works but for some, you arnt so lucky...
Facebook Lockscreen
I actually found this activity on accident while developing my Launcher for the HTC M8 and figured i'd make a small app out of it.
Set Facebook Lock is a small application that allows a backdoor to use the Facebook Home's lockscreen without the need of the actual Home application and allows any device to use it bypassing Facebook's device detection. (I do not actually know if it works for all devices but worth a shot)

Awesome app mate, love it so much that bought ad free version...
2 suggestions though:
- Make arrows on top bar smaller and plain should blend better with material ui... It seems a bit off to my eyes.
- Make refresh button movable and excludable (is that even a word?) like Facebook chat heads, because it gets in the way,and going to menu and enabling/disabling it is a bit troublesome, therefore moving it somewhere else as needed seems easier... You could even make it hide like halo from paranoid

Il take this into consideration! This is what i like to here.
I agree on icons as basically their place holders for now, need to make it more material like. Need to make a material style for kitkat users. Floating Action Button was an experimental thing. I didnt know how people would react to it at first but its one of the things that make this webapp unique.

Cool! I quite like the floating refresh button, if you make it movable, it would be perfect!
Maybe add a full screen option?
That's very good work mate! I also use your launcher
This app is amazing, I'm really hate the official Facebook app and Fellow is perfect for me.
Just a few kilobytes, and a million times better than the official app, great work!
The only thing that bothers me is the loading bar (Image at attachments), If you can place it a little higher it will be awesome.
That was bothering me as well over few days after using it lol. Il surely look into it.
Great, hope you will fix it soon.
I left a review at the Play Store (Free version), look into it
Gonna be working on an update soon and taking everyone's feedback into consideration. I will be adding a more material feel to this as well as transparency options for kitkat+ users.
