Purchased this the day I got my phone but not really played it since the sound lags and crackles. PITA!!
I've tried a couple of optimization configs off here and it's not helped.
Same for me. Only, and not really good, solution is to mute it. Could it be a problem with ICS?
same with me. didn't got it fix so far
Same for me. Also have this issue using Navigon 4.1; impossible to use.
Skype as well.
Also Plants Vs Zombies crashes :*(

I don't know what it is. I installed some games and rebooted. When I play the games the sound is delayed, but the game runs perfectly fine. It also happens with games on gameboid and snesoid. Also, my biggest issue is that when I'm talking to someone on the phone their voice sounds kind of muffled and it's pretty hard to hear and understand what they're saying. I have the volume on max so it can't go any louder. Anyone else experiencing this?? Should I exchange my phone or do a factory reset?? Thanks in advance!
I have a black wallpaper, I'm using launcher pro, I don't have any running widgets so I don't think I'm using that much memory for it to affect the sound.

It's pretty annoying...makes me wonder if our phones have a problem! Is your voice quality really good?? Before this I had the iphone 4, the games didn't lag and I had about 24 games and the voice quality seemed much louder and clearer, but I really don't want to go back to an iphone...
Hey guys,
I've just got droid charge last week and I like everything about it (only after rooting and installing Gummycharged), but there is one huge problem for me. Well, it might be 2, but one of them is slightly better with Gummycharged and voodoo lagfix.
Here's the issue - I love listening to music in my car through bluetooth and until recently I've been using my Ipod touch 4g and it has been working flawlessly and music quality was great. Now, once I got the Droid Charge, I've noticed 2 things - every minute or 2 the songs would skip (interrupt), and the sound quality was pretty terrible (mainly with the high end - sounded like tweeters were being overloaded).
Rooting the phone helped with skipping - it now happens once in 10 minutes or so, so that's acceptable, however the sound quality is still pretty horrible. I've looked around on these forums and people had similar issues with quality with their stock phones and most people suggest CyanogenMod. I'm not all that familiar with what different ROMs are available for Charge, but as far as I can tell this one isn't. Does anyone know if there is way to fix/configure the quality of bluetooth transmission on this phone? Is there any mod I can install? Anyone having similar issues?
Any help is much appreciated!

Have you looked at this thread? It's more about disconnections, but the fix they list might help you, too.

Thanks, but the problem is more fundamental, I suppose. Looks like HTC and Samsung use some custom bluetooth code in their ROMs. Apparently it limits the bitpool value at 32, which makes the audio quality terrible over bluetooth. Surprisingly, everyone knows what the problem is but so far the only reported solution is the cyanogenmod.
Here's more about it:

Wow, nasty and long standing! Glad I didn't buy one of those headsets like I was going to. *sigh*
Hey guys,
I'm running GummyCharged 1.85 w/ the voodoo kernel (pbj) and also getting skips over bluetooth to my car stereo. It's seriously distracting and annoying. My Droid 2 worked flawlessly in this respect, but it seems like any time the Charge does any "thinking" it makes the BT audio skip.
Any hope of a fix for this?
My Charge is stock and I haven't had a chance to try the bluetooth audio streaming yet, but when I plug my phone into my car to listen to music through the aux jack it does the same thing, about once every song it skips. Seems odd. I'll try bluetooth today on my way to school and see what happens. You'd think with Bluetooth 3.0 on board the signal would be strong enough to stream decent quality music...
I can confirm this issue is there and in your face a lot. I tried it on the way to school (about a 40 minute ride), it skipped once or twice every few minutes, no big deal. The quality was acceptable for wireless transfer, nothing to write home about. Not a lot of low end, and just a hint of static and slightly over-boosted highs. However I tried it again on the way home once I realized I had forgotten my aux cable, and it skipped so often I just switched to FM. It was so annoying. I can confirm your suspicions that it seems to happen when the phone is trying to do something. Switching towers, background apps, turning on data and checking traffic with Google Maps really freaked it out, but it was fine once I was done. Kinda sucks for those who wish to use the feature regularly.
Update?
I have a droid charge, and the bluetooth streaming quality really sucks, like the OP pointed out, highs are really bad.
Tried with my friends iphone and it worked flawlessly.
CyanogenMod is still unavailable for the droid charge as far as I can tell.
Is there any other fix that anyone has found that will fix the bluetooth sound quality when streaming music?
Any help or places to look is appreciated.
Has anyone had issues with Cut The Rope? I love this game, I've played it on my G-Tab and on my G2X so I know how it's supposed to run.
When I'm playing the game everything moves VERY slow. Has anyone else had this issue?
I rebooted and tried it right away and it still is slooooowww.
TIA
No issues with the game on my i9023.
Running Oxygen with [email protected],2ghz... but I doubt there would be any problems with stock, either.
Is this problem exclusive to cut the rope?
Seems odd. It's only that app, and as far as I can tell it's only during the levels themselves.
It's the exact same apk I used on my tab and G2X.
I'm running GTA 3 v1.3 on my Note and I'm noticing some stutter. Not stutter as in low framerate, but some micro-hangs when driving around. Framerate is very good, but this stutter is not normal. My Galaxy S, while running at a much lower framerate and no audio doesn't exhibit this. It's like read speeds from the internal SD aren't high enough to stream data to the RAM, and this leads to lag. Anyone else having this?
I'm running stock LA4, stock CPU,very few apps installed. Could this be ROM related? I didn't notice this in videos of GTA3 on the Note on YouTube.
Any ideas?
Galaxy S: 800x480
Galaxy Note: 1280x800
The Note has to push A LOT more pixels than the S. GTA doesn't stutter here, but i'm running custom kernel, Franco #7 on LB1 deodexed w/ few stock apps ++.
I'm not talking about framerates. Framerates are high. This is the kind of stutter like there isn't enough RAM.
The only explanation I can give is that SD-card read rates are not high enough.
Hasn't anyone else experienced this on stock ROMs?
Please, can anyone check this on their Note? I'm running LB1 with franco-7 kernel and this is still present. Framerate is even higher now (with frame limiter off, ofcourse) due to the 400 Mhz GPU clock, but it still stutters. This didn't happen on GTA 3 v1.0 when I first tried it when it came out. It could be GTA's fault and not the phone's.
It does this no matter the graphics settings. Even on lowest resolution and view distance and everything else off...
Thanks for the help.
I haven't been playing all that much, but I definitely have had some hangups too, about 0.3-0.5 seconds long.
I assume this is GTA related problems, some caching might be done in the main thread only when certain models/textures are needed, causing the lags. I played several HD games, and others seem to be better at smooth performance.
I had the same problem initially. It would pause for a split second every once in awhile.
Inadvertently because I had just got my phone and was just testing - I had to reinstall and it seemed to run perfectly. I don't know if it's a different version/update (how do you tell?) but I believe it was GTA Anniversary Edition 1.03
Yeah mines the same hangs for a split second maybe once every half hour or something. Not a major issue, its never really bothered me with it not happening very often.

you need to uncheck something from graphic setting mate. if i remember well was lowering viewing distance or something like that... it worked for me after.give it a shot.
I have a problem where it vibrates randomly... Any ideas
No one encountered this?
Yeah, vibrates randomly for me too.
I don't know about the stutter. Don't think this is the phone. It used to run nice and now, despite the good framerate it stutters like mad. Really annoying. Or maybe the borked something in the latest update (v1.3).

Try turning vibration feedback off. Its in options>audio>vibration feedback.
I made it much smoother by unselecting the Max frame rate option I believe, I also installed chainfires 3d app so that may have also contributed.

Any particular settings for Chainfire 3D?
Hello everyone,
I have had my HTC One S since december 2013 and it's really an upgrade to my old Galaxy S Advance, though there is one thing that's bothering me. The lag. Yes. I really don't know why, but my HTC One S lags in the simplest games. When in Flappy Bird, the event where Flappy heads down again creates a slight stuttering resulting in me hitting pipes. My HTC outstands my S Advance in all aspects, though on my Samsung, this lag is not happening.
In Monkey Flight, also a very simple 2D game, lag is occurring as well. I recently installed "Bouncing Slime", which also suffers from the same kind of "falling lag" (when you jump and you start falling down again). I have absolutely no clue why this is happening, because my HTC handles games like Injustice or Riptide GP2 just fine.
I suspected some time the lag was created by the ads in a game when the game is loaded, though it occurs also when my phone is offline. I really don't have a clue. Also, my Beats audio is turned off as I never play with headphones (I read somewhere Beats Audio causes lag).
Technical information:
HTC One S: 4.1.2 | European radio
Everything is as closed as it can be. Not rooted and no bootloader stuff. I'm fully stock.
If anyone knows what's wrong, please let me know. This truly affects my experience with this phone.
(I am fine with rooting the phone btw, as long as I don't touch my bootloader)
Thanks in advance,
Anthe
I case of Flappy Bird everbody on every device have a lag. Even on Galaxy S4 there is a lag. It's not you device it's your system. I'm on cm11 and it work's great. Even with high end game.
