This is a new feature that allows you home screen to rotate to landscape, is it possible to disable this so only home screen does not rotate? (instead of completely turning off auto-rotate throughout the entire system?)
ROM: InsertCoin RC5
Use ordroid ROM it is basicly the same thing and you can choose not to have rotating Rosie in the set up

Is there any way to install a normal lock screen in a ROM where the HD Mini Lock screen has been cooked in?
You could always just install cookies home tab, and then change the lockscreen to the one you prefer
I have HTC Legend and I am using the default home screen.
I've tried to find a Home application in the list but I couldn't find
it. There is one HTC Sense, and I've configured that as application
context.
Next I have configured a gesture for the rotate stuff.
Gesture works ok, as when I do it, the Camera app starts up.
But it seams the application context is not working, because whenever
I do the gesture in other apps it loads the Camera app. What I am
doing wrong? How can I setup the correct Home screen detection?
Everysince I upgraded to CM 7.1(awsome rom by the way), it resets the screen orientation to vertical. Alot of times I wish it to stay horizontal(like when it is on my desk). How can it be made where the home button won't reset the screen orientation?
i know in adw ex you can set shortcuts to various functions, such as take you to the wireless settings, etc. does anyone know which function triggers the screen off?
i know there are a plethora of widgets that do this, but they are apps that take up space, have special permissions, etc. i figure setting a simple shortcut would be best.
i'm running cm7 #254. i believe the notification power widget has an option to do this, but the power widget does not.
I'm using Fancy Widgets & I have it so that when I touch the minutes on my clock, the screen turns off. I'm using a Sense ROM though.

What about just tapping the power button? That should turn off the screen.
Mounted on dash in landscape. Hard to feel around for it. Quick tap of icon for simplicity. Slide screen for quick unlock. Its why I also prefer the home screen to rotate with the keyboard open. Its not a big deal, just helpful.

Ok, here's what I've got that kinda works...
I have my terminal emulator run the following command on it's startup:
su -c "echo -n mem > /sys/power/state"
Just like that. The display turns off, but the other buttons are active. Not sure if this is what you want, but it might work.
On the power notification widget, the "go to sleep" button makes it go off. You are correct in saying it doesn't have that button/option on the regular power widget.
Hi,
is there a screen-off animation (like the effect when an old Tv shuts down) on CM10.1 ?

There is a free app on the Play Store called Screen Off And Lock
It will give you a variety of screen off animations to choose from, including the TV off animation.
The only catch is that it doesn't work with the power button. You can put an icon on the home screen that will trigger the app to shut the screen off and run the animation, or if you are using a luancher like Apex that will let you assign different tasks to the home key, you can have the home key trigger the screen off function.
Its in dev options. Changing the animator duration time controls the screen off animation.
