The screen on my skyrocket is not displaying picture, but I can still use the touchscreen, for example when I unlock the phone I still hear the unlock sound. The capacitive buttons light up as well, the only problem is that the screen is not displaying anything. Does anyone know a solution to this problem?
Thanks to anyone who answers in advanced.

I believe I am running superlite-5.0. I have been running this ROM for about 2 weeks I believe? That's an approximation, but I have never had a problem like this before

I would odin the stock tar and start over and see what happens. I meant the screen density, if you dont know what it is you probably didnt change it
Is formatting the phone an option?
Hello.
I recommend you get back to Stock or to the ICS leak to try to solve the problem.
You don't need the screen to do it. Just remove the battery, and follow the instructions for Stock Recovery or for the ODIN one click ICS leak.
If you need to salvage pictures or that kind of stuff, probably you can connect the phone and run kies or if the USB mount don't work out of the box, wait 10 seconds after connecting via USB and touch the screen in the lower part of it, probably at 3/4 down from the top side.
You will see the new disk drives in your computer.
After that, do the battery out and try to re-stock.
If nothing works, probably your LCD got damaged.

Sounds like it man. If you odin'd the stock tar. Now flash the reset the counter in cwm and then odin the stock 3e recovery if you want to be safe and send in for warranty. They obviously cant see the screen either, but if they fix the screen and you don't do this they will see it was rooted and the counter may have been tripped

Here's the flash count reset to flash in CWM if you can see the screen to do it.

If you can't I guess there's no point to odin the 3e recovery either, but if you need it I have it. Can't seem to find it right now on the site

Okay, I'm really worried. I was playing around with the root app Anim Mod, and installed custom animations. I had to reboot for them to take effect, although on reboot, I get the vibrate, pause, triple vibrate pattern over and over and a black screen after the sidekick and samsung boot screens. Is there any way I can restore the phone completely? I'm less worried about loosing things and more worried about the phone being completely screwed in this case. Any ideas?

Hey guys,
So I have the Galaxy S2 Skyrocket with AT&T and I have it rooted etc. Today I tried flashing the MIUI rom, but was unsuccessful due to a message saying "Installation aborted". So I did as I read to do and wiped cache, Delvik or w/e, and then I reformatted the SDcard to redownload the ROM, however when I rebooted the next time it did not boot back up. Now I have the phone completely dead it would seem, I have tried the button combinations, etc to no avail.
What happened and is there anything I can do?
How can my phone be bricked if I never got to install a new ROM? I can't be without it for too long so any answers would be appreciated
Thanks,
Smernst

Sometimes download mode can work even if the screen isn't turning on. You should follow the instructions for download mode and see if Odin recognizes the phone.

Brick → When used in reference to consumer electronics, "brick" describes a device that cannot function in any capacity (such as a device with damaged firmware). This usage derives from the fact that some electronic devices (and their detachable power supplies) are vaguely brick-shaped, and so those which do not function are useful only as actual bricks. The term can also be used as a verb. For example, "I bricked my phone when I tried to modify its firmware.
Hard Brick → When your phone does not turn on at all. When you can’t get in to CWR/CWM Or Stock recovery. You are basically screwed. If its hard brick Here is thread that will help you!!!

That is a hard brick not a soft brick. A soft brick is a bootloop. A hard brick is no power. There is currently not any way to fix this. There are a few people looking into JTAG services or devices, or getting a warranty exchange, or getting another phone altogether.
We have been warning people for days now about this issue. I am sorry that you got a hard brick from the ICS leak and then attempting an fxz back, I feel bad, but you know the risks with doing these kind of things, I would hope.

Try and see if you can find someone that does JTAG services on the web. and see if you can send it in to them, and hopefully get it un-bricked. Just a thought here.
It might not be cheap, maybe the equivalent of 100 US dollars.
I consider the hard brick is unable to open the power supply, this phone is to turn the power on, only the startup screen circulation

Oh, you are in a bootloop... does your friend have a backup? Do you or he know how to get into CWM using the BP tools menu? You might be able to restore a backup of ICS to get it working again. Is it a US AT&T version of the phone? If so you might be able to get someone to post a backup, but check to see if you can at least get into BP tools and go to recovery from there, that should get you to CWM.

Hold vol up+down and turn the phone on. Select BP Tools at the bottom of the menu. If you didn't have bootstrap installed before it won't work. It may still not work. If you can't get the menu your hardbricked.

Hello All!
Greetings from snowy freaking Detroit. Meh.
I really need some help. Long time around here just don't post much and can't really find what I'm looking for.
I have Odin back to stock with multiple .tars and it passes fine, but when turned on it goes to this Samsung custom pre-boot logo then will run through the verizon animation. After that it just gets stuck. Am I missing something? I also can't seem to boot with up + power + home to get into recovery it just doesn't load. Is it maybe missing?
Hoping to get this fixed. I need to send it back to "someone" so maybe I can just leave it how it is and risk it, but any help is appreciated.
Let me know if you have questions.

Yeah this isn't working. I tried to get into recovery it just won't go. Samsung custom comes up it sits black and stays black even if I still hold it and none of that little blue in the corner comes up. Then if I let go it just boots again shows samsung custom and then goes through regular boot and gets stuck at verizon logo. Any other way to force rocovery? Or even Odin just bootloader / recovery maybe? IDK what to do it's not "broke" I just gotta figure this out. And I'm correct in assuming that the stock flash file does the recovery each time right? Yes you're correct, it should install a recovery with the flash .
Are you on a 4.1 base or a 4.3 base? Try to Odin again until you get a working recovery, or the phone is able to boot through. There's no reason I can think of why you aren't able to boot into recovery other than possibly a bad download.

So I have recently tried to recover an old Infuse 4g that I had laying around. I've downloaded and successfully (I think..) used Odin3 v 1.70 to get the phone working.
I'm not sure if I did something wrong, or maybe there was something I didn't do. Either way the phone now turns on, I get to the lock screen and can't do anything from there because the screen blacks out, also the button lights are still on after about 10 minutes.
Can someone point me in the right direction? I haven't found a helpful thread on the forums yet but I am still looking.
As long as the device works as a phone, making calls, sending texts, I don't really care what methods are used to get it functioning.
Thanks in advance for any help
EDIT::
I might be making progress... I can get it to unlock for a brief moment and it shows the quick start guide from the stock ROM (I think that's the right term, still new at this) but before I can do anything it does a little buzz, reloads the lock screen, and repeat process. Still unable to do anything on the phone
Battery just died so I'll just let it charge for a bit before I try again.
Alright.. I've installed gingerbread 2.3.6 from the link provided in option C of this thread: xda-developers and I can now open the device from the lock screen. It gives me an error code for literally every app quitting unexpectedly, and will continually re start the lock screen.
Screen goes dark > Lock screen comes up as if I have just turned on the phone > Repeat
Can anyone help me out here? I'm glad to be making progress but I'm sure there's an easier/better way for me to be doing this...

Can anyone help me out here? I'm glad to be making progress but I'm sure there's an easier/better way for me to be doing this...

Sounds like your are flashing for the wrong kernel. Do you have an i997 or and i997R? Can find out behind the battery.
If it's i997,you should be good to go with the UCLB3 ROM (AT&T), but if you have i997R you will need UXKG3 (Rogers) kernel.

Try going back to Froyo. This thread has links for both AT&T (UCKD5) and Rogers (UXKG3) stock ROMs. Good Luck!

i997, but I was not aware of the difference so that's good info too. Thanks.
Glad somebody saw this thread, I was starting to think there was no one here for the infuse anymore

Alright, Froyo works. I used the rooted version in that link you provided. But I might go to the regular version, because my messaging app continues to fail when I try to open it, and I can't sign in to any of my google or facebook accounts. Is that a problem with the way it was flashed, or something else?

Not sure what's causing your current problems but GTG's Ultimate Unbrick always works for me. Link in my sig.

Ok.. a word of the wise.. NEVER use the privacy menu to factory reset the phone. It can be very temperamental and can soft brick your phone and is just so much more trouble than it is worth if it decides to boot loop.
