Oh dear God, I think you may have answered something I have been wrestling with for a while. If I use the recovery flash method rather than pushing the files with adb, will the theme also include the new custom lock screens?
I just tried to flash my downloaded UOT .zip and now i've got a bootloop.
Do i just make it the same way as i would if i was pushing the -res and UI .APKs to the phone?

You have the recovery? You don't open the zip file and extract it, but put the archive.zip in the directory of the sd and flash it as a zip.
What's recovery? Where can I found it? Sorry, total noob on this..
I got yours workung fine but when i flased mine from uot kitchen i get bootloop. They both contain the same folders. Maybe bad dowbload.

And i thought you were a PRO in here
To do this you need the Bootloader Unlocked, and R00T!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1130639
download the package , "BOOT" the package!
but before you do BOOT the package put the Theme in ZIP state anyware to your SDCard.Once you BOOT the package and click Install from SD,find it and CLICK YES !!!! you'll have your theme
Do a nAndroid before doing it (backup)
To enter recovery again,Reboot, when you see the FIRST logo,Hold the Power button and TAP BACK BUTTON like a DONKEY!!!
I think i might be a professional idiot. I know what i was doing wrong.
When i was making my theme with uot kitchen i used the framework-res.apk and systemUI.Apk that were on my computer but these have been there for ages and aren't from the newest firmware that i am on now

Please switch to edify scripting(updater-script and update-binary) to create working update zip packages. Installation aborted."
I've already asked raver but he's busy so I don't want to bother him any longer. So is anyone willing to instruct me or help me to make the ES zips flash-able so that the MIUI control extended settings apk can work?
Raver's miui settings extended zip down below but it doesn't really change the fact that the ES zip wont flash. So I'm wondering if I should take the update script and Binary from his and place it in the ES zips. Help me out please.

Unsigned zip files are fine for CWM. It's unsigned APKs that might not work.
EDIT
You're using older CWM zips. Are you sure you want to do this? They're using amend scripting which to me suggests that they're REALLY old. Where'd you get them from?

+1. You can just download the zip and push the files yourself. Make sure you set execute permissions on the files you replace though.
I'm really not getting what you guys are saying.. I'm really slow at these things So do I extract the EScenter.zip and take out the system and META-INF files and push it via file explorer?

Oh, I'll try it and let you know. THANKS I know I sounded stupid but my brain seems to function slowly on stuff like this.
I made this CWM zip that I haven't tested yet.
Tell me if it works for you, but like I said the files are old and you might wind up bootlooping.
Pushing the files didn't do anything nor did your zip. :/ The miui control panel doesn't change anything ( If were to change the clock to center it stays in place ) Nothing changes like its supposed to for example, clock centering, carrier changing, or battery hiding. Sigh .______.

http://speedy.sh/x2X6p/2.3.9-MODs.zip
Hey guys
Arabic support on gingerbread and previous versions of android is really a pain in the ass .. at last there is a patch to work on any ROM
Its simple and effective
1. You need a rooted phone.
2. You need the ROM's source (zip file).
3. A ClockworkMod Recovery to flash the created zip file.
Disclaimer: I am not responsible if u bricked your phone.
How to do it:
1. Download the tool from
For All Roms - here.
For MIUI - here.
2. Extract the tool to a folder.
3. Search for a folder called input folder and open it.
3. Open your ROM source with any zip software or extract it.
4. Search for 3 files
A. framework.jar - Found in: /system/framework
B. libwebcore.so - Found in: /system/lib
C. libandroid_runtime.so - Found in: /system/lib (HTC Sense and AOSP ROMs ONLY)
5. Copy these 3 files in the input folder we have previously opened.
6. Run commands.exe
7. Follow on screen instructions till it finishes making your flashable Arabic - Persian fix
8. You will find your fix in the output folder, copy it to your SD card and flash it through the recovery (Make a nandroid backup before flashing it)
At last your ROM can read the Arabic - Persian letters correctly. Enjoy
P.S i am not the developer of this tool i just tested the tool and it works like a charm. All the thanks goes to the devs of this tool.
P.S Your rom must be deodexed, take care of this.

I flashed the output zip file through recovery, the process was aborted so the flashing failed. The ROM is fine, nothing damaged.
My question is:
Is it safe if I replaced the output files inside the ROM's zip file and then install the ROM again?
Yes

Yes it's perfectly safe. I always did that with MIUI roms, by putting the arabic in the zip file then flash it. To be 100% safe just do a nandroid backup before flashing the new rom with the arabic files. Hope that helps, try it and get back to me.

Did u replace the right files as mentioned in the tutorial, just make sure that everything is going exactly as mentioned above or in the tool itself. I tried this tool with more than 10 roms and it worked perfectly with every rom coz it injects the arabic to the framework itself. Please try again and make sure everything is done in the right way and get back to me.

sorry .. your kitchen mod
im going now to build and untouched rom .. just to see if the problem is from my changes .. but i didnt changed anything special .. so i supose thats not the problem .. but just in case.. im going to test it ..
im going to extract the rom "miuiportugal_OneX_2.9.21_Signed.zip" and build it with kitchen defaults
convert updater like it recomends on extract..
and convert again to updater in building like it recommends
just to see if the problem is in the kitchen or my changes

same problem .. same error ...
didnt change anything this time ...
just extracted rom and build it again with kitchen defaults
dont understand .. kitchen recognizes the device when converting scripts ...
maybe because the source rom its MIUI ? i tryed miui eng / pt / ch / rd .. and same problem ..
maybe java path invalid (\Java\jre7\bin) dont know if kitchen uses java ..
maybe cygwin version ?
lol .. what a strange thing ... do i need to change more files in kitchen ? i just downloaded the last kitchen release and applyed your mod ...
btw i founded this on changelog
Version 0.190 (March 26, 2012):
Change end-of-line characters in update(r)-script to proper format when building ROM. This gets done in case a noob modified the file with non-Unix compliant editor. Prevents 'Status 6' error when flashing ROM in custom recovery.
but it doesnt make sense because im not doing edits and i dont have < 0.190 kitchen

not give any script to kitchen for conversion, remove META-INF folder from original zip and let kitchen create a fresh updater..
It doesn't fix the converting problem does it, also very interesting you prefer removing meta inf en make a new one then just changing 2 lines in updater script, 2 workarounds in my opinion, anyway can u send me those 3 files i asked for cause i wanna fix this problem.

you are right .. but i prefer to create a new one because its less work, i have to remove the ui_print and other symlinks, so for me its easyer create a new one.
but the perfect is if the kitchen can make correctly the conversion ...
here it is what you asked
https://www.dropbox.com/s/7fd3kboz0htiur7/updaters.zip
it will be great if you can fix that.. if you need something from me just ask!
thanks
made another test .. but this time with other rom...
the kitchen converts the updater bad again but with other errors ..
this time it add spaces to lines
here is the files from the another test ...
https://www.dropbox.com/s/vim2rpgrgmij3j9/updaters_2.zip
the kitchen is all messed up when converting updater .. i think the best is to stick to the original updater dont make conversion and make manual changes on the end ..
and hope DSIXDA gets back to kitchen development, or maybe someone makes another kitchen and give support to it :\
EDIT: found some bugs when removing META-INF folder from original zip and let kitchen create updater by his own .. for example in MIUI rom some functions stop working ... like theme applying etc... i think kitchen jumps something maybe permissions .. when creating updater
for now, and for me, the best option is to let META-INF in original zip, and when extrating rom when kitchen asks to convert updater to update, dont convert, and after edit original updater mannualy and make the changes

You probably have a problem with mount points & update binary. Make sure your device is supported by kitchen else manually create edify_defs for your device or Replace update binary in kitchen cooked meta inf folder with the one from original rom and edit kitchen updater script - change the lines with mount(...........) in new updater script to look exactly like the one in original rom's updater script. You can search xda forum for more info on edify language used in updater scripts. Most of changes you need make in updater sript will be within first 5lines. You can pm me if problem but also post response here

Hi guys,
I just wanted to share you edited caller app from Lollipop leak (N9005XXUGBNL8).
It also works on official FW and even 5.0.1 Note 4 ports.
I didn't like the stock, so I "fixed" in my way .
I hope you like it.
Screenshots:
Changelog:
1. Removed orange/green caller banner.
2. Removed background on "Last spoke" and moved to left.
Download:
v1

v2 - Delay after call end removed
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ifpitp647i0ct5e/No_banners_no_delay_Lollipop_n9005.zip?dl=0
Install:
Put the zip in CWM/TWRP and flash it.
Warning! It's only for DeODEXed ROMs!
Enjoy!

Hi,
You can use it on official deodexed ROMs.
If you mean official Odex then probably you can use it too but need to remove odex file and ARM folder (if exist).

I confirm it works on odex rom too.. :victory:
Official one for sure.. No need to delete any odex file or arm folder-there aren't any to delete..
:highfive:
Please, can you revert back the background color of last talked info because as you can see in the attachment-user picture makes it hard to read the text without the background image..
Also, if possible, please replace the dial pad 'water drop' should with the file in the attached zip-it'll be SOOOOOOOOO great of you..
I hope you understood my request.. :fingers-crossed:
Hi,
Here is the modded apk.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/kcogmix32evozui/No_banners_Lollipop_n9005_TheTAMAS.zip?dl=0
I use only dark background pics so thats I made it white transparent.
About dial tone you need to change touch_ripple.ogg from SecContacts_Phone_OSup.apk
You can do it simple with Zip or Rar. No need to decompile (I think).

For some strange reason-this file isn't working..
I tried deleting, over-writing, cut-paste, wipe Dalvik cache, everything that I could think of.. Other person receives call but I don't get to see anything going on, on my end.. Used Flight Mode toggle to disconnect the call..
And I didn't get the 2nd parta your reply 'zip or rar'..

Hm.
Try this one:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/gn88vmti65jzrim/No_banners_Lollipop_n9005_org_last_spoke.zip?dl=0
For changing touch sound you need to go to:
/system/priv-app/SecContacts_Phone_OSup/SecContacts_Phone_OSup.apk
transfer to PC open with winrar and change the touch_ripple.ogg with yours.

It's working now.. w0.ot :victory:
But the latter part regarding rar/zip didn't.. It force crashes the Contacts app
Please check the attachments
The zip contains the modified apk and the related ogg file
Fyki, I don't know how true it is-I read on XDA long time ago that the sound files are present in the phone apk and not the contacts apk
I tried changing the files at that time too-it gave force crash too..
The reason why I'm still hopeful is because I reckon that zip/rar may not be the right way to do so.. :fingers-crossed:
@TheTAMAS
Try this:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/cxg7aka1cwlti0n/touch_sound.zip?dl=0
It's DeOdexed.
If you have problems remove the Odex file and ARM

There's no related odex file or arm folder but the icon isn't showing up (maybe it has something to do with compression type like best, store, normal)
Please check the attachment..
The app won't even appear forget force crash or running..
What ROM do you run?
Also please check the permissions on the apk.
Sometime it's not set correctly, that's why icon is missing.

Just a question, what is the method for reverting back to Echoe Rom v23 default dialer with full image? I have yours now which I really prefer, but I would like to toggle back just to compare the difference. Than you.
Just extract LegacyInCallUI.apk from your ROM's zip and replace in phone with correct permissions.

Thank you man.. Yours is by far the better option. I can't see how anyone can use the convoluted stock dialer.
