[Q][KERNEL] Best compromise between stability and performance - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Which kernel i have to choose? I tried a lot of them but now I'm a little bit confused
The only features I really need is BLD and Voodoo Sound, I don't need overcklock... which one do you recommend? Thanks in advance
PS I use MIUI if it matters

Best Kernel for MIUI?

I just flashed the latest MIUI 1.9.2. I like it so far, but the flash wiped my netarchy kernel with one that is incompatible with Voodoo.
So, which Kernel is generally regarded as the best for MIUI for battery life, audio, and well, everything?

Im using the trinity kernel and it runs great. Smooth, fast and great battery life...then again ive only been on MIUI and trinity kernel for about 2 days lol
I'm running netarchy kernel and it runs really good. Also bugless Pete and matrix are also very good for me. Just test them out and see what's best for you

Ive tested a few. Lucid is my favorite It totally depend on your needs tbh
Bugless pete kernel is the best , as BrainMaster himself uses it in his rom.

I personally use Trinity TUV10 - for me the best kernel.
BuglessPete's is included only because some people can't boot Trinity, and BP kernel is better then the stock one.
But TUV10 is the best - my opinion.

Thanks. I may try your MIUI out today. So you recommend TUV10 over TUV11?

[Q] Best Kernel for ICS on G2x?

I've recently flashed to an ICS rom, and I am now trying to figure out what the best kernel is to run with it (I'd really like to see one that maximizes battery life.) If you are running ICS, would you mind please posting what ROM you are using and what Kernel you have along with it. Also, take a second to explain the pros and cons of that Kernel so we may all make more informed decisions as we prepare to potentially flash one...
Thank you kindly!

it does appear he did....thanks for that! ...and I'm still up for any other suggestions floating around out there.

Mr. Apocalypse uses Harsh's kernel for Genesis. Owain uses Harsh's kernel for his ICS build. x0xhellx0x uses Faux's kernel for Hellfire Sandwich. I think you can use those as starting point. I like Morfic's Trinity kernel because you can OC to 1560.

Everyone is. NVIDIA has yet to release ICS drivers... so there is sub optimal video on all ICS builds.
We await the official release.
i would recomment the harsh kernel 1505 oc i love it smooth nice battery. i'm against faux it's good in battery and fast, but when you try doing too many stuff it starts hanging

[Q] Kernel in AOKP

Hi everyone,I have a sensation xe.
I flash the Bricked's kernel, because the sweep2wake is very cool. But after i flash the kernels into AOKP, everything goes well expect the wifi.I also try RCMix's kernel, and faux's kernel, but same the result.
How could i use the phone without wifi!
I need to flash a kernel for AOKP with a feature like sweep2wake, and the wifi should be work. Can someone help me?
English is not very well, but i try my best to write these
I believe Faux has an AOSP kernel. The ones you tried are Sense based, which is the problem.

I know Faux put Sweep2Wake in his Sense versions. I am spoiled with it as well, you might shoot him a message or post in the thread and ask if a future release for AOSP will have Sweep2Wake.
suggestion, I'm on aokp since build 32...don't use custom kernels, is better with the stock one...more stable...I use it at 1ghz and is ****in' great! no lags at all, even gaming
there is no sweep2wake kernel for aosp at the moment, just wait

You tested all these but didn't notice any difference? Then what does it matter if we suggest you something?
Want fast, smooth and stable? Don't need any extra feature? Then stock. Why look elsewhere.

I'm not saying that i didn't notice any difference but actually i tested all these over a month... so i don't actually remember the best one.. i'm just confused.. also i was looking for the community's opinions... what in your opinion would be the best... well correction stable is not for the matter... FAST AND SMOOTH IS ALL I WANT And so i am looking for a combo which gives me that..
thanks !
Try my rom...
Or any other cm10 rom with bedalus kernel...

If you're just looking for smooth, stable and minimal features: Rasbeanjelly with either trinity kernel or bedalus kernel.
Try stock rooted with marmite kernel or latest aokp with the same kernel.

[Q] Kernel to use with Wind P999 on Froyo 2.2?

Hi
I am with Wind Mobile and have gone back to the Froyo 2.2 rom which came originally installed on the phone due to GPS issues with all of the other roms.
I am actually pretty happy with the performance and stability except the amount the battery lasts as compared to other roms.
Could someone recommend a kernel I can use with the stock froyo rom to get maximum battery life without compromising on stability.
Thanks in advance

Yup, I thought you had to have root to flash other roms.
I just wanted to know people's experiences especially those who have used another kernel with Wind Stock Rom. Or if you know of a kernel which is stable with most roms and will likely increase the battery life? I have tried Trinity in the past with CM7 and it was pretty good... would that likely work?
Thanks

Well, some times depends on your phone sometimes it does not like some how kernels.
Try using Faux thats my first choice sorry devs but thats my chose, and if it gets laggy (slow)
Try using Trinity, thats my second chose, its pretty nice but like i said depends on your Device, its strange on how phones reacts on the custom kernels defferently .
