Actually i switched b/w Stock, AOSP, Paranoid, CM10 Nightly...
but i can't decide which one to stick with... so i decided that i just need fastness and smoothness...

You tested all these but didn't notice any difference? Then what does it matter if we suggest you something?
Want fast, smooth and stable? Don't need any extra feature? Then stock. Why look elsewhere.

I'm not saying that i didn't notice any difference but actually i tested all these over a month... so i don't actually remember the best one.. i'm just confused.. also i was looking for the community's opinions... what in your opinion would be the best... well correction stable is not for the matter... FAST AND SMOOTH IS ALL I WANT And so i am looking for a combo which gives me that..
thanks !

Try my rom...
Or any other cm10 rom with bedalus kernel...

If you're just looking for smooth, stable and minimal features: Rasbeanjelly with either trinity kernel or bedalus kernel.

Try stock rooted with marmite kernel or latest aokp with the same kernel.

This. Much faster and smoother than stock plus it has a few extra goodies.

[Q] Kernel in AOKP

Hi everyone,I have a sensation xe.
I flash the Bricked's kernel, because the sweep2wake is very cool. But after i flash the kernels into AOKP, everything goes well expect the wifi.I also try RCMix's kernel, and faux's kernel, but same the result.
How could i use the phone without wifi!
I need to flash a kernel for AOKP with a feature like sweep2wake, and the wifi should be work. Can someone help me?
English is not very well, but i try my best to write these
I believe Faux has an AOSP kernel. The ones you tried are Sense based, which is the problem.

I know Faux put Sweep2Wake in his Sense versions. I am spoiled with it as well, you might shoot him a message or post in the thread and ask if a future release for AOSP will have Sweep2Wake.
suggestion, I'm on aokp since build 32...don't use custom kernels, is better with the stock one...more stable...I use it at 1ghz and is ****in' great! no lags at all, even gaming
there is no sweep2wake kernel for aosp at the moment, just wait

Any good rom and kernel for gaming?

Right now, im on jellybelly rom and its stock kernel and the games runs smooth without overclocking. Since it is discontinued, i am looking for another rom that runs good with games(without overclocking like my experience on jellybelly) Any gamers here can give me an advice?

Try out codename 3.0.1
Closed, I would advise you give a few roms a try, there is no such thing as a "best" rom or kernel for anything, a lot of it depends on what you need or want out of a rom, and your personal setup.

[Q] Stable ICS Rom?

I was just wondering which ICS rom was most stable, also fast and smooth, and if the video on the camera works?
Thanks-

Thats a negative. If you want smooth, stable, fast, and working hardware acceleration, stick with CM7 ROMs.

Someone else may steer you in the direction of the most stable CM9 ROM, but with every CM9 ROM, something will work when something else doesn't.

why not 1.9? isn't it supposed to be more stable?
I've tried hellfire 1.9 and it was stable which is ICS but I wanted something more.
My favorite is paranoid android cm build 12 its fast and stable and you can change the DPI.

I was setting v1.9 but error call. I can't hear anything when someone call me.
Now, i using Genesis rom, quite stable and save battery
Why you dont try CM10? i was using paranoid but i was having a Battery Drain problem, but its the same problem that i have on stock and CM9 also... i think that is an specific app but i'm to lazy to discover what is....
Now i'm running CM7 last nightly and Stock kernel, modded like 3.0 LG U.I and is fast, stable, beautiful... And the best... Everything works well and 16 hrs of battery at normal use (even playing, and listenin music)...
Yeah, the cm10 hackfest variants are stable outside of HWA/battery drain/gps/video/bluetooth audio/MMS-Data issue...so...if you don't want to use chrome, don't take videos, don't need bluetooth audio, and don't care about charging your phone once or twice through the day then the cm10 hackfest builds (paranoid android, kashmalaga, original cm10 hackfest) are great options to play with. I'm just waiting for the source to drop so our boys can polish off a nice stable cm10 build for us...tony, benee, and all the rest of them have done some amazing work with the little they had to start with.
I only have Bluetooth and video issues on that rom.... but every g2x is different...
Of course without counting the 7 hours of battery that you have with no use hahahaha

[Q] best kernel for nexus s

hello..ive come from lg g2x forum..there we dont have more of the options for roms and kernels...and coming here is like getting lost in the wolrd of roms and kernels
i know these kind of topics are never appreciated but some pointer wud be much appreciated...
need just smoothness and speed...thats it..dont care about battery..also i thought nexus s has project butter implemented but it isnt that smooth..
anyway some help please ...
what android version?
oops sorry... cm10.1
Try Marmite for smoothness and stability, or Trinity, but i'm not sure that your phone can handle it (no voltage settings!)..
Marmite is probably the best choice
Marmite is the way to go bro~
It is better to be hated for who you are than to be loved for what you are not
If you are looking for project butter, try some of the 4.1.2 ROMs. The 4.2 ROMs are still maturing and aren't that smooth on Nexus S.
Marmite latest version is a good kernel.
Sent from my Nexus S
Matr1x kernel overclocked to 1.32 is smooth and stable
thalamus kernel is smooth and snappy, really stable, but less features
The majority of these forums seem to prefer marmite, but I only tried up to 7.1.3, before switching back to matr1x, so I couldn't tell you.
I really think it depends on the rom you are planning to run. Each kernel works/reacts differently with each rom. Usually if you read through the threads for a specific rom you can get a good indication of which kernel works best for it and which setting in each kernel give the best performance. JMHO
which kernel...
which one works better with my nexus s (jellybam 5.1.0)
matr1x vs cm10 vs marmite

I personally prefer Marmite, it works really smooth on my Nexus S, especially when using Jellybean!
AW: [Q] best kernel for nexus s
As you can see everybody preferes a different kernel! I rly like matr1x!
I suggest you try out yourself wich one is best for you! Also try different settings! I use row io scheduler and smartass v2 governor...
i tried almost latest, stable, weekly and nightly roms (like jellyshot final, rbj, gamerz rom,cm10.1 stable, hellybean, slimbean, xenonhd, carbon, PA, thinking bridge, miui, avatar and jellybam
with the different cfs, bfs, vodoo, non vodoo, stable and weekly kernels (like air kernel, matr1x, trinity, devil kernel, marmite, zxenz kernel vta2 kernel) and the best kernel for me (crespo) is marmite 2nd to the best is devil kernel.. and marmite 8.7 bigmem is working best in any rom..
now im testing the thinking bridge latest rom with these kernels.. XD
Not really kernel related, but since I am running marmite v8.7 bigmem, I just ran quadrant & I've only gotten a score of 2046. Other scores were 2033 & 1991, idk how others seem to get such high scores. I've just recently pretty much started fresh due to my phone having problems, so I am in the process of restoring some of my backed up apps.
Quadrant is crap, run antutub instead.

My wife's phone is100% stock and still has small bugs, freezes, and other issues.. So a 100% stable jellybean is a myth.. Carbon tests faster than Gamerz, but isn't as smooth.. I am using Thinkingbridge and am nearly as fast as Carbon, but haven't had any bugs (yet).. The latest Devil kernel is fast and stable at stock speeds, but I find over volting it when over clocked is better than stock voltages (on my phone).. At stock voltage when over clocked I have had random reboots, but not when over volted... Marmite is also fast, but I haven't found a stable over clocking method for it.. Both deliver good battery life and performance on any compatible rom...

@Setting.Out so u recommend carbon and devil kernel? And about random reboots yes i got that alot on slim rom but gamerz rom not much so u know how to avoid that?

Don't use your Nexus S as if it's a Galaxy Nexus. It's a 2010 phone.

Each ROM is different and reboots are caused by tons of possibilities either kernel or ROM, and overclocking and using tweaks/mods only increase these possibilities...
I've tried Carbon but have had a couple bugs in previous builds.. I'm testing the latest Carbon and it feels nice and no issues thus far
Thinkingbridge is fast and stable and I had no bugs or other issues..
And yes, Devil is my favorite kernel..
Also if you use devil tools or similar app, you can overclock the devil kernel to a fairly stable 1512mhz (live oc 108%). Not recommended for long periods of use!

i mean what is better than gamerz rom and fast and stable FOR LONGGG USE like till key lime pie is out whats the most stable and fast rom and what kernel to use with is
try jellyshot with marmite. i have tried every rom and for me is the fastest and most stable rom
Jellyshot + marmite 7.3 is 100% stable but does not have many mods, carbon + marmite is very fast and has a lot of mods
I was just using the old 4.1.2 Hellybean with a current Devil kernel and the experience was very nice, stable and smooth.. the battery life was also quite good, averaging around 20 hrs with 5 hrs screen time!!

bottom of the page.. Enjoy
I tried countless ROMs, Kernels, Tweaks and Mods, and i have to say that im most satisfied with ThinkingBridge (SB4) and Devil Kernel (3.0.71) plus Final Script (3.1) from "The War Against Obscurity" thread posted by Setting.Out. Its clearly subjective; many people, many opinions. But you surely have to give it a shot!
