I remember hearing something about using one with the fascinate. Can I use any remote? I'd like a lot if buttons for my emulators.

Someone has written a driver for it. Last time I checked, it wasn't free. But, I've heard it works. Never tried it myself. You can find it in the Market by searching wii remote.
did anybody try this on there fascinated froyo?

I intend to try with cm6. Just need to find a friend with a willing wiimote
OTB'd CM6 FTW
It works with AOSP based ROMs, there was another thread in this very forum about it... You need the app from the market by the way, you can't pair with it through settings.
Now that the 2.2 OTA update is out... Which BT gamepads/Wiimote will work?
Will we still have to root/load a custom ROM to get it to work?
I'd be psyched to go buy a Wiimote if it will work w/Fascinate now that 2.2 has finally been released (officially).
You still need to use an aosp rom, the ota froyo update still has the Touchwiz bluetooth stack which still doesn't work.
I really wish that you could just import the bluetooth from a aosp rom lol not that simple but still.
Honestly, you should try one out. The only things broken in froyo aosp roms are bluetooth calling, camcorder, and mms. Everything else works pretty well and aosp roms are so much faster than Touchwiz roms, just try out MIUI or Cyanogenmod 6.2, they're both amazing.

I tried it and loved it for a month, but eventually not being able to send/receive mms and the flash not working most of the time lead me right back into the community rom when that came out.
Will have to try this now that I'm on omfgb

Even the current beta don't have them anymore, you use the hardware buttons like on gingerbread (with some additional features).
Ics rocks, there are for sure some bugs and features left that should be added/fixed, but the beta is already my daily.

Yup am waiting for the camera to be working for the betas
as soon as it's done i'm gonna download and flash!
all the best to the devs
i know it's an early build still, but i seem to like it less every time i install it. Maybe a stable build will change my mind, who knows...
I like it. Would be my daily except I rely on wifi hotspot and USB tethering. When both work I can use as daily driver

I happen to really like the Sense interface. Having tried SuperKid's ICS beta4, I can say there are a lot of things that I like, but I would rather have a Sense ROM based on ICS.
Back to the GREAT Endymion v3.0 for now...

me too I was using ICS Beta for 2 days, and I noticed headphone didn't work in beta4r1 when I played music while I was waiting for the bus at station. but Play/next/previous buttons on the headphone works perfectly except for the sound playing from phone set.
Then I installed Endymion V3.0 in the bus But I really like the UserInterface of ICS , many features are still not working.. But I'll switch to ICS again when Headphone /mic is fixed..
That's nice ,realy ,i love ICS interface . Have problem but is best rom for ever . Thanks superkid .

I tried yesterday for a while with no luck. I tried fixing permissions manually but always got a parsing error. I ended up giving up after a while. It may work with some effort but it was not a simple install for me.

I read tonight it only works on ics. There is a function it requires to install that is not part of GB stock based ROMs. Not sure if it will work on AOSP based ROMs or not.

1. You need twframeworks .. obviously cause ICS AOSP doesn't support an assistant built in.
2. Two, all of the resources are dependent on new ICS frameworks.
3. It won't work on this phone no matter what we do. We don't have TW ICS.
We''ll probably get AOSP, but for this to work, we'll ned TW.
4. Jelly Bean, Android 4.1/5.0 will have it's own integrated personal assistant probably, which will be 100% better than S-Voice.
-reasons
-better hardware at the time
-better API
-android integration(you need to open your app drawer to get to S-Voice. which sucks)
Will this run for me on ics Rom ? Can I just install or no
Sent From My Rooted 3D
no
first of all, I doubt that you are using any form of a Galaxy S(IDK why you posted here)
you are probably using an Evo 3D or an Optimus 3D, and there are "no" chances unless you have touchwiz ICS, which "ONLY" galaxy S phones can have. I doubt it can be ported to other phones like Sense UI can.
in case you didnt read, i mentioned that i used to own a galaxy s 4g. i passed it on to a friend and got a nexus s. No TouchWiz, and the app worked ok after modifying the build.prop a little.
just wanted to share here because i really liked this community. I'm grateful to all the Devs that made my old 4g run flawlessly. So i thought i would share some love.. BUT i honestly had no idea it was an ICS only app... so sorry.
too bad. samsung has fix this leak so the one and only s III is only able to use it now.

If using apex launcher you can set it open by double tapping the home screen.
Hit menu then apex settings, behavior settings, and Desktop double tap. Select launch app and select S-voice.
I thought the double tap thing might be launcher related. I'm going to test Stock launcher vs Nova and see if that makes a difference.
Edit: No luck. Maybe it has to do with the S-Voice version..?
I tried installing it after connecting it via USB mode but it says "there is a problem parsing the package." My Samsung Galaxy S 4G has been rooted btw.

I installed hellfire 2.2 on my g2x. its awesome but..... bluetooth calling doesn't work. I have the march 2012BB. I'm using the fix for baseband. Anyone have bluetooth calling issues on hf 2.2? I get static.

Yeah I've been there, however I can't post this in thoes forums because I'm a new user. That's why I posted it in general. Was hoping other people was having the same issue. So far there is one post but he doesn't make any sense and I cant be sure that is related to bluetooth calling via earpiece. Looks like I have to go back to stock root 2.3.4 since no one can seem to get bluetooth working worth a damn on ANY rom.

Ok, Just installed EaglesBlood's 2.3.7 with the March 2012 BB fix. Same thing. I guess it doesn't matter what rom it is. The bluetooth problem is the same. Will not work when trying to call. Very dissapointed with all the roms i've tried so far. Very frustrated.
Its a known issue with all ROMs that have been fixed to work with the new BB, the only ROM not experiencing the issue are 2.3.4 OTA based ROMs.

I've tried Hellfire Sandwich ICS. Same thing. Doesn't matter if its GB or ICS. Like the prior poster above states, its that damn March 2012 BB update. It's a pain in the butt. I really want to get off this stock rooted 2.3.4 rom. Hellfire's Pheonix 2.2 rom is so awesome! Love the ICS look. HFS is awesome although it has known issues still (1.8) and it suffers from the blue tooth thing. Bummed I had to rip both of them out and go back to stock. I sure hope somone comes up with a fix for it. So far T-Mo's stock 2.3.4 based roms are the only ones working.

Is anyone else having this problem? As much as I love CM10.1 and etc., I keep finding myself going back to say CleanRom. Does anyone have perfect stability on a 10.1 rom? I lose data, then get that fixed. Then I lose GPS. Just a hassle!

I find that TW roms are more stable, and after going from beans b7 to cm10.1 I find cm boring and lacking in many software areas. However, it is still a great ROM just a matter of personal preference

I've been on aosp pretty much from day 1 and don't ever see myself going back. Sure some of the betas and alphas had issues, but I've been on aokp milestone 1 and have 0 issues!! Everything works, and I get over 4 hours of screen time per charge.
Not too mention the unbelievable amount of tweaks that an aosp ROM allows you!!
The only thing I miss is the TW camera, not that the aosp is bad.

Is there a milestone of 4.2.1 from Aokp? I'm on a linario build of cm10 and I must say its really nice. Everything works and the battery is insane. The other day I was at 45% and had 16+ hours. I was not getting that good on any TW ROMs.

I'm just the opposite. I'll try out a TW ROM, here and there, but I always end up going back to Baked BlackBean. I have had no issues regarding data, or GPS, with Baked.
There is a milestone for cm10. The 4.2 ROMs are still in beta mode. I have been running cm10 m1 for weeks and everything works perfectly. Like I said 4+ hours of screen time plus all the customizations make it too hard to go back to anything TW based.

Not trying to be a jerk but when people say everything works perfectly and I go into said ROMs thread only to find bugs it annoys me. Can we please work on stating that "it works perfectly for my needs". Right in the first post it points out to possible issues with GPS, call volume, music players, tethering and bluetooth.

Not trying to be a jerk, but you said it yourself "possible issues" it doesn't mean that everyone will have issues. We all know that ROMs behave differently on different phones. What I stated was accurate. CM10 M1 works on my phone with no issues. GPS, call volume, music player tethering and Bluetooth all work with no issues.

Same with me. CM10.1 is great, but if I need to use my phone in an emergency, I want to know I have a phone to rely on. And tethering doesn't work (At least I think it doesn't work).
no issues with cm10.1 on vzw gs3 but..
I have a rooted vzw gs3 which i ran the stock tw root with 4.2 for awhile, and then switched to cm10.1 and i haven't lost any of the features, but my question is how do we move apps 2 sd in that rom? i have looked and poured over the forums and have found that the devs fixed that , but no guide on how to do it? can anyone help me ?:cyclops:
samsung gs3 rooted running cm10.1
galaxy tab 7.7 rooted with tw for now
retired - original droid, droid x, droid inc, galaxy skyrocket, motorola xoom, galaxy tab 1, and forever rip, ipad and iphone 4s (apple bites!)
I'm sticking to CM10 for now. The 10.1 builds have too many bugs for me. As for right now, I'm pretty happy with CM10.

I may be lucky but I haven't experienced much of the problems people claim in CM10.1. I doubt I'll ever look back at TouchWiz-based roms.
Personally, I've never used CM on any of my devices, I've always used others. For instance, I ran stock unrooted Touchwiz on my S3 for a couple months, then I switched to Liquidsmooth, I had that as my daily driver for at least 6 weeks, but the FC's and data dropouts were too much to bear so I went looking for another ROM, I installed Mean Lean Jellybean Machine Build 4 and loved it, so once Build 5 came out I switched to that, and have been on it ever since! I think I'll be staying on this ROM for awhile.

TouchWiz is actually an awesome oem skin for Android. It gets unfairly attacked because people think AOSP/CM must be better.
My personal experience: after rooting never used cm10.1 went straight to finding a good rom. Used executioner 2.5 liked the feel, speed, and battery life. Felt very stable. Tried cleanrom but started experiencing some bugs, switched quickly. Currently im running superchargedwiz rom kyjelly and it seems very stable i closely compare it to executioner 2.5 although im not getting the same battery life as i was getting on executioner but supercharged is very smooth. If i can figure out ktweakers kernal that came with supercharged, i know its possible to tweak it just right to get the right battery settings. My suggestion if your looking for a good rom to play with try one of these 2.
