[REQUEST] Default theme for Froyo Beta4 by Z

A default theme is what it would look like after a fresh install
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
the default theme, if i'm not wrong, is the android stock theme. which is the one, in my opinion, every rom should include as default, or at least, as an option (cm 6.1.3 from wolfbreak is awesome, but i don't like the theme)
i think you can get it reflashing the rom

Why don't you just extract the framework from beta 4 and use it on wolfs cm6.1.3
Or install beta 4 and add Cm settings, then add apps etc from wolfs rom?
Just a thought
Sent from my X10i using XDA Premium App
Thanks for the reply guys. Maybe I should have been more specific. I'm currently using Z's freeX10 beta 4 and the thing is I don't want to reflash every thing or else I'd need to customize everything back to the way it is. Too time consuming haha. Basically I want it because when I installed another theme before, some aspects of the theme remained on my phone even though I installed another theme. I'm not sure how to get rid of them, so I was hoping the default theme would get rid of them. I'll attach pictures to this post in a few minutes to show you what I mean. And yeah, I did try to extract the framework from the beta 4 but i failed miserably, It didn't let me install it through recovery
EDIT: attached pictures from phone. basically I really hate that youtube icon and I wanna get rid of it and revert it back to the normal one.
You wont be able to install framework through xrecovery, you would have to swap it using root explorer and change permissions, reboot then it should be fine
But make sure you copy the framework that was on before just in case anything happens, and/or backup using xrecovery for safety

[MOD of ROM]Frayo v1.1 - 1/12/2012 (FroyobyLaszlo mod)

Ok here's my little FroyobyLaszlo mod. YES ITS A TERRIBLE EVIL WINZIP
Pretty much all the credit should go to him (Laszlo) for this ROM!
Once I start doing some more advanced tweaking then I'll be able to give myself some credit without feeling guilty
Pretty much the main new feature is that you can customize what system apps to flash.
Changes:
-complete
~in progress
Code:
~1.2
~system mount as rw on boot will become an option
-1.1
-system mounted as rw on boot
-customization(install.txt)
*So all those apps I removed can now be customized if they install or not
-updated LauncherPro to latest version 0.8.6 as of 1/9/2012
1.0 (from froyobylaszlo)
-edited update script, made the installation a bit more detailed and informative
-removed calendar
-removed onscreenkeyboard (faster! use your slide out keyboard!)
-removed livewallpapers picker
-removed text to speech
-removed protips widget
-removed voice dialer
-added stock sounds and fonts
-added gmail
-added youtube
-changed bootscreen
Download:
1.1 - ROM: http://www.mediafire.com/?unp8qba8pp7rqas
Install Config: http://hostfile.org/install.txt (rightclick>save as...)
1.0 - ROM: http://www.sendspace.com/file/o2auyh
Install Instructions:
First of all you need to have radio 2.22.27.08/2.22.28.25 & hboot 1.33.0013d. Instructions on install are here.
Then you should partition your sd like so:
swap (i really recommend it) somewhere around 120 plus/minus 50mb...im being very approximate here...it depends on how much space you're willing to give up
ext4 (recommend it too) depends on how many apps you want...512mb will probably be enough for most
Wipe your phone with a superwipe. Then do all the wipe options in recovery and do "repair ext"
Download the needed files.
Open up install.txt with your favorite text editor and edit it to what you want to install. Default is everything install. Don't add any extra spaces or anything to the file. Only change "yes" to "no" and "no" to "yes".
Copy frayo-signed.zip and install.txt to the root of your SD card.
Flash it in recovery.
Once its done reboot and follow onscreen instructions to sign in and stuff (or you can skip).
Now here are some settings you need to set:
If you have sd-ext partition:
Settings>Extras>Application>Allow moving
Settings>Extras>Application>Install Location>Sd-ext
If you have swap:
Settings>Extras>Performance>Swap
Recommended:
Settings>Extras>Performance>Lock Home in Memory
I don't recommend changing CPU settings
To fix black clock in notification bar:
Settings>Extras>User Interface>Reset UI Tweaks
I really recommend you turn off market updates, the new market is too slow:
Open terminal emulator.
Type
Code:
su
pm disable com.android.vending.updater
If the market manages to sneak in an update before you do this go to Settings>Applications>Manage>Market>Uninstall updates
Reboot and Enjoy!

I STRONGLY recommend not mounting /system as rw unless there is something vital that needs to be written, then remount it to ro.

Hmmm...won't hurt to try
How it works is it copies everything at first...then it scans the install.txt and for every "no" it deletes the app
Not sure if recovery will give errors for the file not being there...
Won't hurt to try

Everything else is exactly like froyobylaszlo...
So I assume if cmtd didn't work with froyobylaszlo it won't work with this...same with papago
I cannot do any deep development because my linux installation is being odd right now...

Also I may make a separate update.zip for customization that will allow you to edit the install.txt without a pc...hmmm....

Huh actually I wonder why?
All I really added was the customization and...oh it might be the launcherpro update...
Hmm...anyways
I got linux set up and might start modding a bit deeper
I wanted to make my own ROM from source...but cm6 source is broken apparantly
Maybe ill start from bare froyo android source
Now I kinda regret giving this the name frayo...I shoulda used it for my full rom that I might make later
Oh well anyways...give me things I should add...I'm running out of ideas

if your going to make an aosp rom do a gingerbread, froyo never has been too perfect for the g1. granted there are a a few out there that run pretty well (laszlos and im sure yours) but the devs seem to get 2.3 working a hell of a lot better then 2.2 on the g1s
frankenbread?
Ill see...
I just think gingerbread will be too slow
I'm actually compiling aosp froyo for the g1 right this second
Just to try it out
And I think my computer might not be powerful enough to compile gingerbread...well I don't think so but that's what the android source site says
According to the android source site id need a lot more RAM...
We'll see, because I also don't have enough space for the gingerbread source, and I don't want to repartition my drive right now because activating windows was a pain already last time
Sent from my HTC Dream using Tapatalk
heres a theme i made that is similar to the Cianbread theme from theme chooser, make sure you back up the rom just incase it bootloops..

ICS Request!

We all know theres the beta ROM of ICS on the web for the 2011 Xperia range, but you need a Phone with a unlocked bootloader, but im thinking, could someone pull out the apps (browser, music, widgets, launcher etc) & theme files (systemUI, framework-res etc) not affecting the actual base of the system but how it looks & feels & put it in a ZIP FILE for use through ClockworkMod Recovery on locked bootloaders... I know theres ICS themes & stuff but their just stock apps with different colours (blue & black) & different icons....
If its any help I found this in the Development section - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1431608
I really like the Xperia Play forums, but most of us are limited as we have bootloaders that cant be unlocked :/

The Framework Is different and its based on a different Kernel so no if it was that easy then what's the point in having a Unlocked b/l
ICS Apps just dont work with GB. Thats the point.

They still would need dependencies that GB doesn't have, and they'd still require a higher SDK build than GB has. You or someone knowledgeable can try to strip off the ICS dependencies and rebuild the APK to make it compatible with a lower SDK number. That would be one hell of a lot of work, which would only make sense if there was really no way to get ICS in our device, but fortunately it's not our case.

[Q] Sense 3.6 themes

Hi,
I was looking around the themes & apps section and I found that the themes available are all definitive themes to flash through recovery.
Are there any themes that you can install and choose from personalize menu?
If not, why don't?
I would prefer to install as many themes as I want and change it from the corresponding menu when I want instead flashing and having compatibility problems...
Thank you all!
If you want to use phone's personalize menu then u need to install skins as APK file. Themes are completely different thing which you have to flash it via recovery because theme will change all your system UI which you can not change normally.

Yes, I know.
I just want to understand why nobody does this type of skins. HTC only has 8 of them, and here at XDA I can't find any.
It would be nice if themers use this functionality that HTC give us, like people do in Cyanogenmod.

Doesnt work on my phone, mytouch 4g, running ViperTouch 2.1.3
Got it working but didn't do anything. The only thing available at the moment is winter board. (I understand just came out a few days ago or so) seems to do the same thing as theme chooser in any custom launcher but with the fact that u have to restart every change like in iOS. But didn't apply any theme.

Cool, but with mine, the winterboard doesnt see the cydia app and continues to ask me to reboot.
I think the rom i am using has been modded in a different way all together.
Last time i flashed a boot animation with CWM recovery only to see that it didnt work. So i guess its the rom.
About the boot animation it might have been a flash able zip for aosp based ROM. Sense ROMs have it in a different location. U don't need to flash it u could change it manually using a file explorer. I don't remember where exactly its located but u can Google boot animation location sense ROM and then just delete then copy paste with the correct name

It could be a problem with sense. Try a AOSP rom.
Okay.
