Hi,
I just bought new Xoom 2 and I have 1 dead pixel. Is it enough to put the tablet on warranty repair?
You have to check with your warranty papers.
From what I know, you need a percentage of pixels to be dead in order to issue a refund/replace.
Something like 7-8% .
Just like monitors & tv sets.
That would be entirely too high of a percentage. Usually it's like 3 or more dead pixels, or 2 connected. Are you sure they are dead though? If they are just stuck (dead pixels are black, stuck pixels stay red, green, etc), then you should be able to just find a flash .GIF file or even an app that flashes all the colors to get it fixed.
This must be a stuck pixel, is only visible when screen is black or very dark. Am I able to repair it just flashing this place with gif image?
edit: now I have 6 stuck pixels, the rest are smaller, I probably didnt see them :[
Return it to where you purchased it or send it in, that's unacceptable. While you're at it...just take back the Xoom 2 and get a Xoom.

My nexus one fall from 2 meters high, instantly showing green horizontal lines. The screen still recognizes my fingers. When locking/unlocking and rebooting still shows green lines when it have to (booting animations etc).
The repairing service told me without even looking at my phone that they have to change display+motherboard=189€
I think it's only a broken display easy to change, about 30€ on ebay. I already take it apart to see display version.
Do you think it's only a broken display or more? I don't want to waste 30€ for nothing.
(I don't know if this is the right forum, sorry if not )
Hello!
Please help me to fix two (maybe there are more, I haven't noticed yet; but I hope there aren't any more) stuck pixels on my Cynus T1's IPS display. One pixel is somewhere at the top of the screen and is blue when the screen is black and... is dark when the screen is blue. Another one is always white and located somewhere on the right side.
I tried to fix these pixels by running JScreenFix with maximal brightness. Overall this app has worked for... errr.. 3 hours with regular pauses when I wanted to know whether these pixels have been already fixed.
So JScreenFix did'nt help. Maybe run it for more than 3 hours? BTW can other pixels get stuck because of this app running and display working for a long time.
Another idea I have read in one forum is to... freeze the phone in a refrigerator (previously putting out acc, cards and sim). It is claimed by some people that this method will help to free stuck pixels.
To say more, currently my phone is in a refrigerator. I hope this won't at least damage more pixels... Or should I run and get it out of there??
So, what can you suggest?? I repeat: screen is IPS type....
I think my nexus 5 may have a dead/stuck pixel bunch. It is in the navigation bar on the bottom left corner (see picture) and it bugs the heck outa me. it did it out of the box but im only just now noticing it. only shows up on solid black background (hence the nav bar) and on a few other certain solid colors. it isnt terribly visible when im in is on a multicolor image, but its annoying. i dont really want to have to return it as i may be waiting 4 weeks for a replacement!
i guess i could wait til they restock then call about the issue and get a replacement quicker? If anyone knows any fixes, im all ears. Tried rebooting, changing brightness, and running a dead pixel fixing app for about 10 minutes

dead pixel is dead pixel and no fix for it
all apps that named dead pixel fixer is fake they might work for stuck pixel but not for dead one.
however the black/white means dead pixel
stuck pixel will show a color.
:good:
i was given an xe and it has a few dead black pixels that look round, i have noticed lately they seem to be getting disapearing slowly, its like a round pencil rubber size, i thinking there not dead at all, i have been using an app called dead pixel detect and fix, it there any way of speeding up the repair, i thought black pixels were not repairable
You maybe in luck

I have read a few users have use this method with success. Usually these dead pixels are caused from dropping phone.
Sent from my HTCSensation
i didnt try the freezer fix, but what seems to be working is dead pixel detect and fix app, before i start the app i gave the phone a vigorous shaking
the dead black pixels are slowly going away after a few weeks of doing the above, now it's turned to what look like a full stop .

update.. no more dead pixels yea...
If anyone of you had a dead pixel on the screen? After 2 months in the middle of the screen appeared a black pixel . Refer guarantees ?
LOL! Screenshots dont show the dead pixel men! kkkkkk
you have to take a photo with another phone or camera directly of the screen of the phone and not take screenshots!
Yes yes im see that after few minutes when create this thread:> omg
When i bought the phone, from the very first use it already has 2 black dots. Automatically sent it for repair ( they change the battery and the display with the frame). It was good, but now again in the edge of the screen 2 black dots. The display is almost total crap.
