Is better Brainmast Black Cm9 rom or other roms as PixelRom,PlayRom,PoolVoice..? i can't chooise. I would a rom where there aren't bugs , slowdowns and the battery during a lot also i would a rom that when i take a photo or open apps/games does not slow down or it blocks. Thanks for attention.
Why i search a best rom ? Because next week i travel .
Try Gummy orAOKP
Nexus S (GSM i9020a)
GummyNex (9.0)
Air Kernel (3.45)
OC 800/100 (Lionheart)
Live OC (100 -Noop)
v6 Supercharged
I'm currently using brain masters black v1.2 with air kernel 3.9.5, the black and white ui definitely was the first thing that interested but the phone performs very well, quick and the battery life improved after swapping out the cm9 kernel that came with the rom, stock settinga

What kind of battery life are you getting? I'm also using BM's CM9 with the packaged kernel and today I got 15 hours total from full charge to 4%, about 4.5 hours with screen on at 80% brightness and 5 min screen timeout. Also using a 1440mAh battery.
It's fine for what I normally use my phone for, but if I can squeeze more battery out of it I would love to give it a shot. Could you also post the link for the kernel you used?
Which is the best between Playrom + airkernel 3.9.5 / PixelRom 1.72 + airkernel 3.95 / Black CM9 v 1.3 + matrix 18.5 or air kernel 3.9.5 ... ???

Okay I'm planning to buy this phone and decided I am going to use CM9, just wondering what kernel I should use stability and performance is key, I don't mind battery life I can cope with charging every night as I do this now with the worlds worst phone (iPhone 3G) fully charged this morning (8:00) now 30% (17:15) all I've used it for is a little browsing and at most 2 and a half hours of music at mid volume and sent a few texts. So to wrap this up what kernel would you recommend stability ranks higher than speed but speed is important battery mind I can cope with as long as it is better than my iPhones :') If anybody already has CM9 post some screen shots :')
either franco or glados will give you the best of all worlds (performance, stability, battery). i'm not partial to either, i just flash whichever was updated more recently.
Trinity kernels
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
I'm sticking with Franco's since it's done wonders for me on GB.
Using it on ICS now and it's stable and fast.
Greetz
i haven't try ICS yet, but in GB i suggest FRANCO , it's damn good
about battery , it happens to all smartphones ...
only you thing you can do for hard usage is buy an extra battery or extrenal power , thank god our phone's battery is replaceble not as iPhone which is UNreplaceble...
I like mathkid. I used franco on gingerbread but i feel mathkid 11.5 ics is better on ics

Hmmm, what's it like on the performance & stability side?
i think franco's kernel is good ..
Franco Kernel hands down.
He frequently updates his kernel usually on a weekly basis as of now and contains all of the power saving tweaks (Lazy Govenor, DEEP IDLE, BLX, TouchWake Live OC ... this guy is good) created by the creator of the GlaDOS kernel Ezeekel.
He does not have any debugging tools running in the background (as other kernels do) for optimal performance.
Hello I am wondering whats the best kernel for battery life on CM7 would it be faux or stock? And plus can I just install the faux Cm version start at 1.0 ghz to 1.4ghz, so by overclocking it means it will have less battery life? Could I just install that kernel and leave it at 1.0 ghz? And is the faux kernel better than the CM7 stock in terms of battery and what about performance?
New to this stuff!
Thanks people!
What CM7 are you running? It makes a big difference. Also, battery life is different for every person. So to say one kernel is better than another is based on your use. Now I did notice a difference in battery life and performance when I flashed Faux's kernel. But best advice? Wait a couple days on stock, see how it is. Then flash Faux's or the any other kernel(as long as it CM7 based of course), to compare the results. Of course when your comparing make sure your phone usage is the same, or as close as you can get it

Ya. I flashed the DS OC/UV v.0.4.8 first but like faux says the battery readings were crazy, going up and down all time, I didnt know how much battery I had left. And this was after I calibrated my battery of course. Im using the CM OC/UV v.0.4.8 kernel and its great! Great performance and awesome battery life! Right now I got 38% left with moderate to heavy use on 10 1/2hrs. I posted a few screenshots of my battery use using Battery Monitor Widget Pro. I couldnt post the battery use one cause I rebooted my phone a couple times changing my theme. It reads like 2hrs on battery instead of almost 11. Also I posted a Antutu benchmark score as well. Try one see if it works, no two chips are the same, if it doesnt, he's got 4 different kernels. Plus there's the other kernels that I havent tried yet. Hope this helps!
Overclocking will reduce your battery life but increase your phone's performance. Use an app like SetCPU to choose your clockspeeds and voltages. I don't recommend messing around with voltages until you're much more familiar with over/underclocking.
I've used faux's kernels off and on and never been able to get my G2x to be rock solid stable versus the cyanogenmod kernel but it certainly did increase my battery life by a noticeable amount. Right now I'm running the Trinity ELP kernel and undervolted it even further and I've had absolutely zero issues. If you try faux and don't like it, give Trinity a try.
I prefer Trinity ELP or Faux DS versions if I am in battery savings mode depending on the ROM I am using.
Hello,
What is your best Rom which have a good battery life?
Thanks!
you need to try yourself, because it depends on your kind of usage.
however, you can look around the forum, there are some very nice threads benchmarking the different roms/kernels/governors/etc...
For me it's nuhetri-reloaded + Air Kernel 3.4.5 using smartassV2+noop scheduler
This is my current set up (check signature). Its been the best so far with battery. I can leave my phone off for 6 hours and loose 1-2%. The performance is pretty damn good too, very smooth and quick
Nexus S (GSM i9020a)
AOKP (Build 27)
Air Kernel (3.45)
OC 800/100 (Lionheart)
Live OC 105
Seems like air kernal is quite popular atm.

if you want a Gingerbread ROM then do koush's ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1091153
But if you want an ICS ROM then do SLIM ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1495652
Just dont mess with the kernel.... I used the GB rom awhile and now this ICS rom... both get all day life and I use about 3 hours a day of surfing the web, about 2 hours of playing music and some games. Both have great idles that dont suck up battery life. Just be careful of some apps that drain batteries.... so try then bareboned then try with the apps you want. There will be a difference so play with the ROM to see what is best for you and ur usage.
Just use the notification bar to turn off internet, wifi and gps when not used.
good luck
I get pretty good battery life with vhgomez Lota r1 + Matr1x cfs 17.5. Averaging about 15-16 hours with medium use(about 2 1/2 hours screen on time).
Usually at 200/1000 with Deep Idle and either SavagedZen or Lulzactive.
I must say...BuglessBeast is treating me EXTREMELY well so far...I start my day at 4:00am, I don't usually plug in to recharge until around 10:30-11:00pm....
Very good lifespan... before custom ROM, I was recharge before dinner almost every day.
I'm VERY pleased with this ROM.

Hey, Just wondering what would you guys say is the best rom for + kernel for battery life that also isn't stupidly slow.. Oh and by battery life i don't mean like upkeep time i mean like basing it on screen on time like what roms can get 4+hours screen on time?
Cheers
stock rom 4.04
Oh and what kernel is better for Rascream rom Trinity or Matrix cause i don't really know much about rascream as i just started using it.
I'm able to squeeze over four hours of screen on time from most ROMs providing I don't reboot and minimise my modem usage. I'm currently using Pete Alfonso's Gingerbread kernel and Blandriid 2.3.7.
But I keep trying alternatives...
Yeah Atm i'm using latest Rascream with TEUV kernel and not sure atm but battery seems okay?
The biggest battery eater is the screen so try brainmaster's black cm9. It's about the only thing you can do apart from obviously keeping your screen brightness at minimum is put your phone in airplane mode when feasible. Nothing else will make much difference.
For GB i have to say, Oxygen 2.3.2 with Matr1x 11.0
As for ICS, i've yet to come across one, I do, however have fond memories of aosp+
To supplement bedalus' post: to base battery life on kernel+rom combination alone does not tell much of a story. I got the most out of my battery when I - used a pure black and static wallpaper, turned off auto brightness and manually tuned down to 10%-ish, kept apps and processes at a minimum (reduced app drawer to a single page, mostly stock). To reiterate, kernel+rom alone give few tangible differences when comparing battery life, from personal experience.
I use Matrix Kernel v19 and CyanogenMod v7. 24 hrs with light use, 12 hrs with heavy use.
used to use milestone 4 with air kernel.
use the latest version of both rom and kernel and set 200-1000.
you will see the difference and if you want to save more battery after following as above, then reply me.
I haven't really noticed a difference between ROMs. As stated a few posts above, the kernel and ROM themselves will only give a few minor boosts. Black vs white screens makes a world of difference. I use the inverted browser a lot and a majority of my apps tend to have dark themes which I personally prefer. Daily use, 3 or so hours of screen on time with the phone off the charger for 12-14 hours. It all varies on how I use my phone though on that particular day.
Any ideas regarding on best kernel and best cpu governor for my Nexus S i9023 Stock Rooted ICS 4.0.4? TIA
I use my phone for gaming, GPS for driving and for texting
Have a look for the threads by bedalus! He tested almost everything there is to test and made the results available for for everybody!
Ps. I use smartassv2!
Sent while eating an ice cream sandwich in the matr1x!
I flash roms therefore i am!!
There is no "best" kernel. You're going to have to experiment and see what fits you the best for your needs. My needs are a phone that just works. I text, call, use GPS, listen to music and a ton of other stuff, with maybe a tiny bit of gaming. I use ondemand and never have any problems. Matr1x and Air Kernel both have many governors that should meet what you need out of your phone.

^true. experience it is the best way to find out which one fit you. for me, i use CyberGR v14 with Matr1x v21.5 (sometime Air v4.3); 100/1200Mhz Ondemand + deadline (sometime SmartassV2 + noop) with deep idle. With that setting, i can last through a day with semi-heavy usage (wifi & 3G off; 3 hours of non 3D gaming; 2.5 hours of music; couple phone calls and 50 - 100 sms) and still have 20-ish percent left when i get home (my work day is in the range of 12 - 13 hours). the performance are great, stable, and smooth. there're some freeze here and there (twice/week, not a biggie) but without it, i just can't feel like i'm using a rooted phone tho LOL. So go to this thread, and try 'em all, you can find something that fits you

i'm using air 4.3 + smartassv2 on cybergr... working smooth
Good choices for close-to-stock kernels are simple kernel by Terry Hau and thalamus kernel, but even if you want to run stock, you don't have to have a stock like kernel. Try them all, see which ones you prefer. It doesn't take long to flash a kernel. You could sample them all in a day!
Air Kernel - governor ondemand - CPU min. 200 Mhz, max 1200.
