Help With PMG Update - HTC Sensation

Hello-
In the AHRD thread there is a T Mobile patch for better signal and data speeds. I'm not having luck with it. It's slowed my phone down.
Any Suggestions on how to remove it? I restored my phone to a previous backup and I'm still having the performance loss.
(- HTC Sensation 4G (U.S. T-Mobile PG5810000 | T-MOB010) users can flash this (it's an additional link) for better signal and data speeds!)
Thanks for your help
Brian

I will try that when I get home
It was an additional link for a mod/patch that I opened in the AHRD thread- change log section.

thats because it is (the Inspire 4G and Telus DHD are the EXACT same device internally, externally, its only a difference of the logo, the telus one uses the HTC logo, while the Inspire 4G uses the AT&T logo on the back.
The higher build Radio from the 2.52 Korean build works amazing with the ril's from this/the 2.43 Telus build (which are also the same btw)
Never mind. Thank you.

i really dont understand whats going on here. i installed this factory rom to replace the custom rom i had. and after i flashed it and go into hboot, my phone is still s-off. can i please get a factory stock rom that will s-on and unroot? seriously.. why was this rom passed off as a factory rom when its really not? i dont get it.
Is this rom, suitable only for USA networks or it is suitable for the Europe also ?

It is pure stock. You have to s-on seperately before you flash this.

Flashing a stock rom will not remove s-off or eng mode. It's a separate process
Mind you - if you flash via sd method idk.....
Sorry for digging up an old thread, but I want some clarification.
If I run this, it will not unroot my device, just install the update and the AT&T bloatware?

[Q] Sensation XE Radio question

Hi everyone!
I recently got a Sensation XE on Vodafone AU and as many of you know, there doesn't seem to be a RUU available for this device.. I've searched all over XDA and there's nothing
I want to try my hand at the latest ICS ROMs, but am a tad nervous about doing so seeing that I will have to flash to the latest firmware / radio and I don't have a RUU to bring me back to stock if something goes wrong..
The stock radio used by the phone is 10.58.9035.00P_10.15.9035.02_2.
I was wondering:
a) Would it be possible to do a backup of my radio using fastboot (I believe nandroid / CWM recovery doesn't backup radio); and
b) Will flashing the radio of the same version number on the thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1178143) ... essentially bring me back to stock radio? Vodafone AU's Sensation XE supports the 850MHZ WCDMA/3G frequency .. will I lose this by flashing the radio from this thread? Is this thread only for Sensation or Sensation XE?
Sorry for the questions, I am really stuck!
Thanks!

a.) No, I don't think you can backup the radio.
b.) Yeah by flashing that radio you should be back to stock and it won't mess up your frequencies. Looks like the radio is for the Sensation and Sensation XE but do double check.
Before you go about installing ICS just do a nandroid of the stock ROM and keep it in a safe place.

k0zmic, thanks heaps for the reply! I really appreciate it, because I do want to have a crack at ICS, but am a little scared there's no fall back option for me atm lol ..
How do I check whether the radio is compatible with Sensation XE as well? I know that they are essentially the same phone, but apparently there are small differences like underclocking?

Hey dr3wster, I had a look in the following thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074559
and the file factory directory (towards the bottom of the list) has a VodafoneAU ruu in there, I have downloaded and kept this safe for myself as I too have a Vodafone AU Sensation XE Handset.
Hope this helps.

Just flash a different radio/ril combination. There's a big thread with them all in the dev section

Do not get 4g service after flashing to ARHD 6.7.X on 4g sensation tmobile

I know I am a NOOB - please feel free to flame me, as I probably deserve it. I bought a perfectly nice and working Sensation 4G t-mobile phone. When I bought it stock and all (running ICS) it supported 4g connections. However, once I flashed to 6.7.X with the latest firmware 3.33 universal from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767
I then rooted, and then I installed 4ext recovery, then I did a super wipe, and then I then flashed to 6.7.X with beats audio and all was fine till I realized that I had no 4g access anymore :crying:
All I get is either an E or an H on top of my bars. Once in a while when I drive around I get a 3G - but no 4G anywhere. I called t-mobile support and I checked the coverage for my area and I am in prime 4G land!
So, was I not supposed to flash to the ROM or Firmware? I then tried using this radio as that was suggested at the end of the ARHD setup:
- HTC Sensation 4G (U.S. T-Mobile PG5810000 | T-MOB010) users can flash this for better signal and data speeds!
That did not help
So, what should I do start all over? I really want 4G. I can use wi-fi just fine, but that is not what I bought this phone or service for - please help!
Thanks,
David
I ran the same Rom for 2 months with 4G service no problem.I used firmware 3.32.maybe try going back the f/w 3.32. Hope that helps buddy!!!

Usually I would take up the flame offer but I feel kind
The icons are just that, icons.
Example, if you flashed only the SystemUI.apk from the Tmobile ARHD ROM, the icons would say 4g because there are different icons for what tmobile sells as 4g as to what others class as H or H+
I think there is a flashable addon to enable the icons to the tmous ones in the 2nd post of ARHD.
3.32 TMOUS no joy
THANKS! for the idea! I tried it and 3.32 TMOUS is no joy still
Any other ideas? Must I really go to the 1.2.2 T-Mobile ROM to get 4G? I am using the 30 dollar pay as you go plan (100 minutes of talk and unlimited data - with capping), but I should be getting 4G!
Thanks again for all the help,
David
OK - sounds great...
Hello Jonny! Thanks! Now I see 2G I have not seen the H of old (or the 4G if I get lucky), will keep looking though.
Thanks!
David
Rock and roll
OK, it officially works! Thanks - I now see H/4G all I need to do is go to my backyard versus anywhere in my house - but that is all about the coverage - right? Not the radio in anyway - I would suppose.
Thanks,
David

[Q] Signals Issue - Looking for Reasons and Solution

I am recently shifted from MyTouch4G to Sensation4G and performed all preliminary steps i.e. S-OFF, Rooting and Super CIDing.
While searching for ROMs to flash.. i saw that my device's firmware also needs to be upgraded.. so i did a little search and flashed 3.33 universal from Kohr-Ah's thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767)
Now i am facing couple of problems..
1. First i installed DarkForest which required 3.33 however it wasnt booting up so i trashed it and flashed Team Venom's Viper which booted up pretty well and started using it. Anyone can tell me why darkforest wasnt booting up ?
2. I usually dont get very good network reception on ground floor at my home still Mytouch4g never lost signals but since i have moved to Sensation4g, signals' reception is very dodgy on the ground floor.. it comes and goes.. Can anyone help me by suggesting the best radio/ril for my handset or give me couple of suggestions so that i can hit and trial.. PFB my current radio/ril
RIL - 4.0.0037HMQ [2]
RADIO - 11.76A.3504.00P_11.24A.3504.31_M
Looking forward for input...
Hi there. With radio and ril it's very difficult to give a recommendation because we all live in different reception areas. But you can start with the generic Ics radios and rils and do some experimenting and see which gives you the best signal. Read the radios carefully and make sure their Ics and for your country. I also upgraded my radio and the generic Ics worked well. Let me give you the link for the radio and rils. Hope this helps out. Best wishes. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1202867 scroll down. And you will find the links to radio and rils. After you read.

I don't have a very good reception either. It's much worse than my iPhone. I have tried everything, from changing ROMs to kernels, radios, rils. Nothing changed. So my conclusion was that the Sensation has an awful reception and there is nothing you can do about it. Just live with it

Hi,
"GetRil" from the market may help you to find the best radio/ril combination.
I changed my radio and ril and I have five bars on H reception. It's really good. So no, not everyone has really bad reception. Mines much better than it used to be with new radio and ril. Hopefully you also will get positive results!

Hi,
Use "GetRil" from the market.
It will tell you the best combination for you.
Unless you live in the same place as realsis, then, his combination will not necessarily work on your phone.

hi unfortunately i can't suggest a combo for you due to the areas we live in are different but i can help with a place to start. I'm going to send a link for generic ICS radio and rils. on link please read instructions carefully and scroll down then look carefully and you will find the ics radios and rils link. try out a few and see if it helps. i was lucky, the first one i tried worked for me. also keep your old radio number so if you want to return to it you know what it was and can find it. you will flash the ril like a rom, however radio must be flashed differently. place the pg58img file at root of sd card. pull battery, put battery back in, press volume down and power, when it boots into boot loader it will recognise the pg58img file and ask to update. press power for yes. once the update is finished you MUST delete the pg58img file from sd card or in boot loader it will continue to try to update over and over. so make sure you delete it. Hope this helps. here is a link to radios and rils. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1202867
hope this is helpful for you.
