[Q] Backing up purchased software keys? - Samsung Infuse 4G

I have an old infuse that is no longer used as a phone but makes this great mini-tab/MP3 player. So what I am saying here is that I don't always have internet access.
Ok so I try this demo of a cool wizzbang new app on the market via WiFi. After playing with it I discover that I just can't live without it. So I buy the full version, it downloads the key and then BAM! I have the full version.
Now I want to make sure that if something happens (phone needs restore/reset etc) I can just sideload the key and app back into the phone even when I DON'T have net access. That means I need to be able to install the key back when I am not near a wifi hot spot.
How do I backup apps and keys that I buy from the market to my PC and/or external SD card for safe keeping? I looked in the directories on the phone but couldn't find where these keys are to make a backup. They just "magically" go somewhere. The phone is rooted if that helps.

Purchase Titanium Backup. I UAE it to back up all my apps...even have used it to restore my titanium backup key.

Best $$ spent Tibu..

I played with the demo version of TB but couldn't figure out how to find and save keys. Is there another way such as with root explorer or something like that?

You would need to find the files that controls it. Maybe an apk. But in the end most keys connect to the internet to make sure its a valid key and if it cant then it deactivates the key. So even if you back it up it may not stay working.

I have used TiBu to backup and restore apps and license keys many times. Works like a champ.

so i have 70 apps on the x10, assume i lost the phone? how can i back up x10a? like the iphone all you have to do is connect it to itunes, how can i do that on x10? what apps?
as far as i kno your market downloads follow your account, so if u lost your phone, get a new one use your same account and clickk downloads in the market and it should still show all your previously downloaded apps. i think.

Lets Golf 2

I actually like and paid for this app but since rooting and installing GummyCharge I don't have it and can for the life of me figure out how to get a working copy. I could use some help.
Thanks,
Brad
Did you pay for it through the market or through the app?
Through the App. I can't find it listed on Market. Couldn't find it in V-Cast Apps either.
Try going to the game's website (http://www.gameloft.com/smartphone/lets-golf-2/) and logging in with whatever info you used during the purchase. They should have a record of it.
Even if I bought it through Verizon? It was billed to my Verizon Wireless account.
The developer should still have a record. They had to be the one to bill it to verizon and had to have known what number to bill to

The record of us buying it isn't the problem, the problem is that with the rom(gummy charged) it's taken out and also it's not in the toolbox, I want it too, I paid for it, I got my media hub back from the toolbox, but I can't find let's golf 2 either, maybe I can find an apk somewhere.

I have the exact opposite problem you have. I can't seem to get rid of it. Every time I uninstall it, it reappears in my settings>applications>manage applications list (but not in the apps page where you run everything) I can't actually play it though... and I don't know where the apk would be.
couldn't you pull it from one of the stock roms around. Isn't there a a full odin leak?
You could always just google around and find a lets golf 2 apk file...it shouldn't be too hard honestly.
I did find a copy and installed it. the only problem it didn't fit the screen. I don't know how to pull a file from a ROM.

You're not the only one with that problem lol. I've flashed roms, restored apps, and then go into manage apps and am like WTF! that wasn't on my phone when i created the backup.
I have the opposite problem as you, I want to get rid of it. I uninstall it but every time I reboot my phone it comes back...any suggestions? Already tried deleting it with titanium pro and still came back.

same problem here, thought i deleted it yesterday, but back again today?????
Bump. Just wondering if anybody has figured out how to delete this app - no matter what I try it keeps reinstalling itself. On gummy charged 1.91 EE4, with pbj kernel. I have tried tb uninstall, uninstall from task manager, freeze in tb. It is really annoying. Thanks for the help.

I have a thought. Go into System/App folder. See if it is there. If not look in the Data/App folder. I believe the name is something like com.gameloft.android.GAND.GloftLG2P.ML-1.apk. If it is rename it or delete it.
I deleted it out of the dalvik cache, the /data folder and the /preinstall folder. After a reboot, this is what shows up:
http://db.tt/UTtW58Y
(dropbox as I don't know how to use the forum app to upload photos)
I can't find it in any more folders....it's super annoying...

Yea it isn't in there. I have never had thus happen with an app before. I deleted my titanium backup of it also. I guess I will just try and ignore it....

permanent delete of lets golf2
Has anyone figured out how to delete this game yet? Like other people the game just keeps coming back after I reboot. I'm sure there are other more important issues out there but if anyone knows how to get ride of this game I'd appreciate it.
Thanks
Update - downloaded root explorer from the market
1) goto preinstall/apps
2) Delete the game
3) reboot
4)Delete from your backup aswell
Looks the game has been permanently removed. found the info on android central post by noobsickle

if you buy the pro version it will allow this. i was leary about the 6 bucks at first, but after flashing a few roms and going through the install process a few times, i realized it was worth every penny
purchased the pro version worked like a magic.
TiBu Pro, the best $6 I spent in the Android Market.

I've ended up wasting a lot of money in the Android Market, but the 6 bucks I paid to unlock the full potential of Titanium Backup was well worth it.
Titanium must be selling well then.
Best decision I ever made was buying TiBu when I realized I was going to be flashing alot. Also, My Backup Root works well and is free. Only downside is it's slow, compared to TiBu.
interesting thing is that now I got the gingerbread flashed, i dont expect the flash rom amny times, however, in order not to forgot everything i did, i started documenting what i did. because searching for sea of scattered information on the web is pain.

i have used TiBu hundreds of hundreds of times, to restore my apps, and such. and only ONE time (just the other day actually), it randomly requested the confirmation for each install. and it was quite irritating, bc im not used to having to confirm them all. but it hadd never done that before, and has yet to do it again. not sure why..
nice thanks for the help

Anyone else having issues with Titanium PRO key not taking

Hmm Downloaded 6.3 Mike Rom. Did superwipe so I lost my Titanium backup.
Now I paid the 5.99 back when I had my HD2. But have had to use Aptoide to get the pro key as Maxim can not verify my purchase last year. Not trying to get it for free. I love this program. But its the point that matter. I PAYED FOR PRO!
Well another member here early on showed us on a thread about a program called Aptoide that you can backup your apps on other devices for.
I have used it for about 4 months since not being able to get my key from the maker of titanium. Again I am not cheap! its the point!
Well now on this version of ICS rom I try to load my APK for Titanium and the APK for Pro key. Install fine. But then says FAILED KEY GOOGLE MARKET. So are we being spied on now for using non market applications.
I guess I will spend another 5.99 and lock and key my email confirmation of key purchase. Just kinda make me mad I have to buy again.

The way the 'key' works is that it's a text file that the dev sends you and then you place it on the root of your SD card. When TB opens it then see's the license and the pro features are unlocked.
Did they do away with that method?

Yes they changed it. I had that one! Now its a file. But they want me to buy it again. I have been able to download it since last year on Aptiode. It has worked no problem. However now it still is there and on this site. However when you install the PRO key it says FAILED KEY see GOOGLE CHECKOUT. odd. I give up, I even turned off my data and it still fails.
Use LuckyPatcher, works for me

[Q] Best way to backup game saves/data?

So I have a rooted Asus Transformer (TF101), and I have several games on it that I've made quite a lot of progress in. I was wondering if there was some sort of app or something I could use to back up the save games/data across device reformats. When I went from JB 4.2 to JB 4.3, I thought I had used Titanium Backup correctly, and ended up losing nearly 2 months of progress in several games. Does anyone know if I need to have the Pro version of TB or if I just used it incorrectly? Or even another alternative?
I used Titanium backup (free) several times and never had any issue. Make sure to save apps+data and if device is rooted it should work. Some software for pc (such as Moroboro) can backup data but it don't always work, and this one is pretty invasive.
You can just backup the app data with google in sync settings
I use titanium also
Hmm... I'll have to give it another go after work and class then, and check out the google syncing, thanks for the replies.
another question, somewhat related:
Is it possible to use TB to restore saved data to a non-rooted device if I decide to switch the games to something else?
Titanium backup
