[Q] titanium backup restore emails and sync - HTC Sensation

man ive been trying to figure out a way to restore my emails
everytime i restore them they never sync new mails
kinda hard to manually enter 5 email addresses every time i flash a new rom
i was wondering if any of you guys know the right way to do this and when i restore my mail data and reboot my mails dont sync
please help thank you

Never had this issue with Titanium Backup but I use only stock roms.
When I backup system data it keeps all accounts & Sync. Restored many times without re-enter all settings etc. which I agree could be a bit annoying.

[Q] Changing Primary Email Acccout?

i own a rooted epic 4g and my primary gmail account password got changed. now ive lost access to the android marketplace.
i looked around online and the only solution ive seen is to 'factory data reset'. i dont want to reset my phone, though. ive also tried going to my sync list and deleting my primary gmail but it wont let me.
does anyone know of an easier solution? if not, i suppose ill just do a nand backup, reset my phone, and then nand restore everything. or will that not even work?
please help!

update. i went ahead and did a nand backup, rebooted, factory reset, rebooted, input new gmail accound info in wizard, and then restored data. when i rebooted after that, it was still stuck on my last email. so that didnt work. im getting tired of this. someone please help.

Add a second account through Accounts & Sync, then delete the first account.
Or, when you restore (I'm assuming through Titanium Backup), don't restore system apps/data, just user apps.
Couldn't you just reset your Gmail password? Then, open the Gmail app - it should ask you for your password - and input your new password.
(from... Evo/MIUI/Tapatalk)
i did add the second account but when i go to delete my original email account, it says i cant delete it.
no, ive always used just the basic nand backup and restore. and i cant access the app store to download titanium because i need an functioning email account to do it.
yes, i tried to restore my password but apparently i didnt provide enough accurate information. i could only answer a select few questions i actually knew.
Go to Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications
Find junk with Google in its name, click on it, choose clear data. Wash, rinse, repeat until done.
Here's a link to Titanium Backup from my Dropbox: http://db.tt/K2lwLwm
Download & install it. Then, backup all user apps and data. If you've already done a nandroid backup, just do a factory reset or go into recovery and wipe & flash a new rom.
When the rom boots, put in your other Gmail account that you know the password for and that'll be your new primary Gmail account. You can then restore your apps with Titanium Backup.

just curious, will this delete all my numbers? i should write them all down just in case, though.

if your numbers are backed up and visible in your gmail contacts, you should be fine.

Cant update stuck on UCKD5 HELP!

As the title states my phone is stuck with baseband version I997UCKD5. Everytime my phone trys to get a update it tells me that it cannot connect to ATT servers. My phone is rooted, is this why its not updating or do I have a defective phone. I have tried to find the answers for with no luck so if someone could please point me in the right direction that would be great.
this is typical att. it is not the phone. can you connect to odin? if you can then backup your apps with titanium backup then use odin to flash gtg's rooted ucke3 package, then backup the new rom with cwm (just good practice). if the apps are wiped then use titanium to reinstall them. it is not always a good idea to restore system data with titanium but i dont think there are significant system changes to prevent hat from working, id try it then if everything force closes id wipe user data in recovery and try it again without restoring system data.
I had the same problem even when i was UNrooted. I rooted my phone and updated to that Infused ROM. I then used the [ODIN][UCKE3] Return to stock download to return to stock and then I had the new update. Everything turned out fine, I had no problems afterwards. I then proceeded to UNroot the device and a day or 2 after that I recieved a new update but alas my phone STILL cannot connect to the servers.

yes, backup just in case. i dont know if gtg's package wipes but it probably does, actually id bet on it.
sometimes if the firmware is different restoring system data causes issues, what that means is you would lose your call logs and things. but if the app+system data restore causes issues you can just clear data in recovery mode and restore app+data rather than apps +all system data.
do you have contacts sync'd with google? att? if not export the contacts to a v-card on the sdcard. then import after the flash. but i recomend the gole contacts sync if you have want to set it up, sometimes simply setting it up on the phone doesnt work the first time. but once it is working it will restore contacts to any android phone you ever own and you can edit and merge contacts from the gmail website to keep it organized.

sorry i think i miss read something, i thought you meant "incase" hand you lose you apps to backup with titanium which would imply it would be before but now i see it says "if" which implies after the fact, sorry if my confussion caused you problems.
so you didn't do the backup before the flash? and all that apps are present but some force close? is this right? just for clerification
if the apps are still there you may just need to clear app data, this can be done in titanium or in setting> apps > manage apps> all go to each app individually and clear data. this will lose progress on games but not usually much else.
you may prefer to use titanium, to get titanium to work go to settings> apps > manage apps > 3rdparty/downloaded scroll down to titanium and clear data (this wont hurt the backups they are on the sd card)
if that doesnt work and you have access to the market then delete titanium and reinstall it.
im about to be away from my computer, if this doesnt get resolved contact me through pm and i will get back to it tonight. i will make every attempt to keep whatever apps you still have.

[Q] Google backup or titanium?

so i have titanium backup..
anyway..just flashed my first rom....and when i booted the first time. i set up my google account. Before i could even get to titanium my phone was downloading all my apps and contacts from google.
Any opinions on googles ability to restore stuff? Im contemplating wiping again and disabling auto restore before i set up google. Is it worth it?

Google backup works just fine for downloaded apps and contacts, so why bother?
Well for me this didn't work. I did some wipes now but the Google backup functionality never worked for me. Therefore I always use TB.
well this is the first time ive flashed a custom rom. Was running stock for the first few weeks of root.
The first time i flashed and set up my phone google didnt do anything
Was having some probs so i decided to wipe and reflash...the second time google went crazy and started dowloading everything from the market.
I always use Ti Backup. In my experience, Google backup doesn't always backup and/or restore all my data and I end up uninstalling and re-installing through TB anyways.
If you choose to go the TB route, remember to force a re-do of all your backups (or at least of user apps) before wiping data and flashing a new rom. That way you'll ensure having the most current data from your apps when you re-install.
Also if you want to only restore from titanium, just skip the google sign in setup, and uncheck the restore from google setting. Go to the market and download titanium restore all the apps and data, wifi and bluetooth settings only. Restoring system data from an old rom or stock rom to a new one may bork your system.

Yes but make sure your phone wont autosync. When you skip the setup that should also skip the autosync as well. Just in case go to settings, accounts and sync and make sure autosync is unchecked. Sign into the market and get titanium backup. If you have a rom like coredroid, it may already be included. Check your particular rom for details.
Well I used titanium after I reflashed. I restored all user apps. System data is where I'm confused cuz there is so much data. I'm thinking contact sms Bluetooth settings wifi settings and sense desktop are what you would want to backup. Most of these were in green type.
However..... After restoring I still noticed multiple copies of friendstream and a lot of weather apps which all seem to be the same thing. I dlfeel like I got a bunch of dupes

[Q] Flashing ROMs & Titanium Backup

Hey guys
I've recently rooted my 9023i Nexus S and am currently running Codename Android 1.4.0 with the included Kernel.
I did flash and test Matr1x kernel and one other which I can't remember the name of but in both cases I went ahead and reflashed the ROM to get the original kernel back as I felt the phone became unstable and sluggish after a while on the custom kernels.
I use Titanium Backup to backup and restore my apps and system settings which worked beautifully when I was just flashing the same ROM again, but I am wondering if I would like to try a different ROM (would be based on ICS 4.0.3 or 4.0.4) if I could restore my apps AND my system settings with Titanium Backup?
I have seen around here that I should only restore apps and not system settings when going to a different rom which I totally understand, but I would love to be able to keep my call logs, sms, contacts and especially Email (Exchange) settings between ROM flashes.
Is this possible?
Thanks!
I never really liked Titanium Backup, but you shouldn't have an issue, I believe. You should never lose your contacts as long as you are signed into Google. After you flash a new rom, sign back in and your contacts should be there. As for system settings, I have no idea. Wifi settings, etc shouldn't be a problem. Go ahead and try it. Thats what Clockwork Recovery and Titanium Backup are for. If it doesn't work, then restore back to what you had. Its best to learn from trial and error.

Thanks, I did do it like that the first couple of times when I flashed a rom, but I really like not having to redo the exchange settings and resync all my email and exchange contacts (all of my contacts come from exchange, none from Google) and also not having to resign into all of my services (Facebook etc.)
I guess I'll just do some tests and see how it goes

That's the answer I was expecting
But do you think it's ok to manually restore some settings, for example email settings, rather than doing a batch restore on all settings?
I see a backup in Titanium Backup for Email 4.1 and Exchange Services 4.1 which I assume would include all my emails and settings, right?
You could try restore data only on those. If you get a bunch of force closes .....
The emails are stored on the email server. You log into Gmail/Hotmail/work .. the emails will sync.
If you want to screw with it. Make a current Nandroid of your system. Restore what you want. Screw up ...restore Nandroid. Works... smile
Thanks guys
Tried it yesterday, didn't work
One other question... When restoring apps+data after a flash do you sign into Google and then restore or do you restore and then sign into Google?

Correct me if i'm wrong but with CNA you need to flash Gapps manually. If you don't flash it, you wont have market or anything, so you wont be able to sign in will you?
What i do is just leave google apps alone and flash my user apps. Then when you flash a rom, flash gaps, sign in, then restore user apps.
Yes it's a bit of a pain to reconfigure gmail etc, but most of the data is synced online so it shouldnt be too bad.

[Q] Need access to Google keep notes backed up with Titanium

Hey guys,
I've recently changed my rom to slimkat and I had some important notes that i stashed in my google keep. Luckily i have a backup of the app and data on my titanium from when i used to run that version of google keep on beanstalk.
I've tried restoring the app on my current slimkat rom, but it wont let me. Whats the easiest way for me to retrieve those notes?
Cheers
Mubs
google keep notes are backed up with your google account, you dont need to backup the data using titanium backup.
log in to https://drive.google.com/keep/ and sign in with your google account. does the notes appear? if not then you will need to set auto sync on your phone and make sure keep is synced.

Google keep should be synced across your devices.. ? Check https://keep.google.com/
If your notes are there then they've been synced and syncing to your new rom should be fine. If they're not there then either you didn't sync it and now would need to restore the app's data rather than the whole app.
Thanks for the replys.
I've tried that and my old notes don't appear. Maybe I didn't sync them using Google before.
Whats my next option? Ive also gone and installed keep off play store. Now that I try to uninstall it using titanium it says failed to uninstall apk file. Come to think of it, its doing the same thing for all the system apps.
If you really need those notes, you may have to reinstall your old ROM, restore the data and sync properly. And restoring system data between different ROMs is often a bad idea.
I managed to sort it.
I installed a fresh copy of keep but had the data transfered over from titanium backup.
I still have the problem where I can't delete system apps though. Can anybody advise on this?
Cheers
