Is there any way to record or do a screencast of the Xoom with decent frame rates, I want to create a demonstration of an app I developed specifically for the Xoom. ShootMe is not available on HC and even that was restricted to 10fps. Anyone know of a way?
Thanks XD

i have searched and searched but i have turned up nothing. i know there is no video editing app for android. Is there anyone out there working on one. im sorry but i love my nexus very much. the one thing i wish i could do is record a 720p video add my youtube intro to it and then upload it to youtube. without having to connect to my mac convert video to mp4 then edit it in imovie then export it the upload it to youtube. i have thought about buying an itouch just so i could use it as a camcorder that have video editing. as you can see im not asking for much. im sure there is plenty of people that wish androids could do this.
Main things i would love to see
video splicing
transitions
thats all. i wish i knew how to program for android because i think this would be an amazing thing to bring to android.
I would like to know as well.
I'd also like to have this.
I already post this question but it is still unanswered :'(

I was interested in this too... even if I could just rotate the videos I rrecord by 90 degrees, that would be a huge help!

I'm curious to know if something like ffmpeg could be used? And then add a GUI afterwards?
Is there any cloud based application that can be used since we have flash and maybe let us upload your data and edit it there and redownload?
Sense as if that might be the least intensive work-wose unless someone has a native app everyone seems to have missed.

Hey all, there's a thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=830781 to port the LG Optimus' video editing app over to the Nexus One - apparently it's mostly working on the Vibrant already.
Hi everyone is this possible? I have a picture file that moves which is a knock out video. Can I run it in my phone background as live wallpaper? If so how?
Thanks
You can use a video file as a live background using "Video Live Wallpaper", which is available from the market. It is a free app and works reasonably well with anything I have thrown at it (including video you shoot with the built-in camera). Hope this helps.
hey guys. when I got my Evo I asked this same question. I was recommended Transformers 2 and Avatar...and I was given specific bitrate and resolution to put into Handbrake and I ended up with amazing looking videos that the Evo could play without any hiccups.
I moved my same Avatar movie over to the Xoom now and it doesn't look quite as good (obviously).
what resolution and bitrate (or handbrake specific settings) do you recommend, and what movie do you recommend, to really blow me away when watching it on the Xoom?
thanks
download moboplayer from the market and see if that helps.... its free
Well, the xoom settings I use are actually very similar to the ipad. So use that as a base and then just tweak it a little.
just do a simple search on "Video" and you will find any treads with tips and info about Tegra2 and movies. This has been talked about plenty.
I use Dvdcatalyst to convert my videos, or VidsOpt v0.2.1 - Fast MP4 Muxer/Converter

1280*720 is what will look and fits best because your screen is 1280*800. Just download some 720p mp4 videos.
Here you have some samples that you can use to show off

What is the best, lag free way to record me android phone's screen? Would the Android SDK be the best, or is there a neat program out there?
since you are rooted, there are many free apps in the market for you to choose from. personally, i've used shootme, but that's been a while ago.
Solved! I ended up finding an app for $2.99 called ScreenCast. It records with NO lag at all and SUPER high quality, I highly recommend!
There is a free version, however it only records up to 30 seconds of footage, so it is like a testing version.
SCREENSCAST!
Ah, didn't know you wanted ability to record video playing on your device. Glad you found something and thanks for sharing. I'll have to check it out, too.
ShootMe has screencasting available. It disappeared from the market, but I have the apk if anyone wants it. It was/is a free app.
I'll note that the fps are pretty low on ShootMe, don't know about the app you mentioned.

Just wondering if there is a way to record screen-protected apps since the well known option was scrcpy (https://github.com/Genymobile/scrcpy)
Can anyone think of anything else?
This applies to Android 12 and probably 13 too
There seems to be no way around it. I ended up using Bluestacks/Nox and record it with PC app.
