[Release] Stock FRG01 Deodexed + Extras

What is it? FRG01B, Deodexed, Rooted, Busybox, Stock Kernel + Extras
(Special thanks to Cellzealot for the leak!)
Where’d it come from? My Droid World
Why? I like clean and simple roms. This rom should be a great base to build on, theme or just run as an everyday rom. Going forward, any themes and kernels made for FRG01B or compatible with FRG01B will work for this rom. (You may run into trouble with the Mms.apk since I pulled it from CM, see FRG01B – Stock - Deodexed, no apk mods at all)

What I did…
System Stuff:
- Fixed the market sync problem (All apps show up in market as 2.1-update-1)
- Installed busybox V. 1.16.2
- Stock kernel – Defaults to 600mhz but can be overclocked to 800mhz, also allows for wired & wireless
- Added notifications & ringtones from N1, DX and the Droid of course
- Removed unnecessary scripts from xbin
- Added wifi scan tweak to save battery life
- Added build name & base under About phone
- Removed weather channel logos from news & weather widget

All the traditional apps are all included. I only removed Google Goggles and the VM stub

- Modded launcher (removed 60+ jpgs and added new ones)
- Download Crutch Lite (allows the download of any file type) (Kanged the idea from Team Chaos)
- File Manager (from the motoroi system dump, allows you to manage files on the sdcard) (Kanged the idea from Team Chaos)
- Updated Messaging App (Credit to Cyanogenmod) (includes tons of options including black background and different led colors)
- Rom Manager (Thanks Koush!) (Rom Manager Premium!)
- Wired Tether (Project Site)
- Wireless Tether (Project Site)

As you can see I didn’t do much, but if you want a really clean stock 2.2 rom with the latest stuff, then this is what you want.
Clockworkmod Instructions: Place file anywhere on your sdcard, boot into recovery, select install zip from sdcard, choose zip from sdcard, and select the appropriate zip file.
SPRecovery Instructions: Rename file to update.zip, place on the root of your sdcard (meaning not in a folder on your sdcard), boot into recovery
Wipe or not? It is my recommendation that everyone wipes data & cache no matter what build they are coming from. Also, you should only use titanium to re-install apps without the data. It kinda sucks to re-enter all your info, accounts and bookmarks (especially with all these leaks) but in the end, if you run into problems you won't wonder if it’s because you didn't wipe data/cache.
For those of you that want to push and pull files to the droid. I did not edit the boot.img so before you type adb remount in adb you need to type adb root, wait for it to connect and run as root, then you can hit adb remount.

Do I have to wipe my phone? Or can I leave it and just download it?

You can grab the downloads from Droid forums in the droid hacks section or google frg01 extras. The first link should be it. Sorry again about the lack of links. I will see if I can get an admin to let me post them.

I love it! It is a beest combined with things like black notification bar and Spare Tools. HTC IME download here doesn't work but getting it from another source creates beestly ROM! Thank you!

- metiCkModV4.3 with Black notification panel (based on the Pl3x rom version)
- Completely based off of FRG01B
NEW!! - metiCkMod - Dark Glass - Update.zip - This is a FULL rom with a modified Smoked Glass theme port. As most of you know, I didn't create the original theme, that would be Adamz. All credit for the theme goes to him. he obviously worked really hard on it when he compiled it. This rom has a metiCkModV4.3 base, a blackbar notification panel and smoked glass widgets. I purposely didn't port the blue color scheme and the htc sense icons. I like the vanilla android base much better. There may be some things I need to theme that I didn't get to yet. If you see anything let me know. Questions, concerns, feedback? Post it up in this thread. Enjoy and thank you Adamz for your excellent work! If I get enough request I will port the whole theme for people to enjoy.

Hey, is there an update that will stop the bootloops? I had to restore to when I first installed this. I also lost my 3G connection. Please fix ASAP!

Thanks, I'll try this out tomorrow. With so many roms coming out in the past day or two, this is the only one that has caught my interest.

It seems to work good it just my 4G is acting up. Don't know if it is me or the ROM

This is a pretty fast rom. I'm liking it. but why is the sync notification on all of the time, even though i turned synching off?

Make sure you fill in your Google account information when it runs through the setup wizard on FIRST boot. If you don't do that, and put it in later, the sync notification seems to do this. I've run into it on many roms.

I can make another version with it included. Just the dialer or Contacts as well? Both are attached here from AOSP if you wish to replace them yourself. You will need something like Root Explorer to make /system RW and replace the files in /system/app or use the following commands
adb remount rw
adb push Phone.apk /system/app
adb push Contacts.apk /system/app
adb reboot
If this is a common want, how far do you guys want me to take it? There is also Gallery3d and a few other AOSP apps that I can drop in here.

I always setup my accounts information from the first boot setup screen. Still running in to the same sync isue.

[ROM][CWM][KD1] GingerClone v2 (AospMod) Update2 + TMW v3.0 ROM/Theme [9.2.11] - PDT

This here is a fast, slim, and VERY stable Froyo 2.2.1 ROM Based on the KD1 firmware for the Sidekick 4G. This was built with the idea of making the Samsung software functional with as little Touchwiz as possible, knowing how much samsungs overlay on android can bog the phone down and this ROM is proof of it. I've taken a lot out and themed what was left.
With that being said, most touchwiz/Samsung specific crap is removed. This is an AOSP clone so there is extremely minimal bloat and any unnecessary apps you don't expect to find in an aosp ROM most likely isn't in here.

What is TouchMIUIwiz v3.0 [AospMod] ?
its Exactly the Same ROM as the GCv2 AospMod, without the gingerbread theming. ALL theming from framework to icons are TouchMIUIwiz v3.0 but has same apps from GCv2 AospMod, not more, not less. The Boot animation is a Normal M Logo, and the shutdown is the same as TouchMIUIwiz v3.0. This would be for anyone who likes the lightness and feel of gingerclone v2 and want the look of TouchMIUIwiz. They have the same tweaks and all apps are up to date. All lastest updates are included as well. Anything left if themed like TouchMIUIwiz v3.0. Also, its a ROM not a flashable theme.

Install Instructions
Instructions - NOTHING NEW, if you know the drill then go ahead and install.
- Put zip file in your /sdcard
- Reboot into cwm recovery
- Wipe Data/Factory Reset
- Wipe Cache Partition
(Optional but recommended to prevent any minor issues)-Wipe Dalvik Cache from advanced menu in CWM
*Now before you Flash, Only if you are on the orange CWM, (Not RED voodoo CWM from Bali) if on red CWM ignore the mounts/unmount part*
MAKE SURE YOUR MOUNTS LOOK LIKE THIS: (Go to mounts and storage from CWM recovery)

- Now its safe to Flash the .zip
(AGAIN IGNORE UNLESS IF YOU ARE ON A RED VOODOO RECOVERY) after you flash, go back to mounts and storage and make sure your mounts look like this

AFTER THE ROM BOOTS, i Recommend letting it sit for about 5 mins without use so cache and stuff builds back up, then log into google from gmail/market or someway, let google sync for 5 mins then reboot again. then you will have your Sidekick 4G in the best state its ever been

this rom by far has the smoothest feel to it, and the green color plus AOSP is definitely a nice theme.
the rom is a nice change and especially if you like v1 of gingerclone you will love this.
i reccomend trying it out i haven't noticed any bugs yet.

another thing even after reinstalling all my apps 20 of them which go onto the system not the sd card(not moveable) i still have 350mb and with other roms i had less then that when i installed the rom!

How did you get that score on Quadrant? I'm only getting 1100ish...

That's odd. With this ROM I haven't gotten too much below 1600, I get 1700+ average on quadrant but I get 2100+ when overiclocked at 1.152 Ghz

yep I did, and I've done it before with success, but not on this ROM for some reason, it either just stays white or causes Search to force close when I try to use it.

Does this rom include google talk or include it in gapps?

Try to delete the one in the ROM named "com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox-1.apk" then reboot. then push the one you want to system/app

Any permanent fix soon for the softkeyboard? It resets when the phone is resetted. And gapps cm10 is needed correct? And is there going to be a fix for auto rotate when you open the keyboard without having to have auto rotate on?

ok this is just my initial release. i have a few bug fixes up sleeve that i have not tried yet. so i should be able to fix auto rotation and keyboard. for gapps just use the ones from cm10 thread or any gapps made for JB i personally use a 4.2 varient

I flashed after I had the ROM flashed. But if you haven't flashed ROM already you probably could flash when doing ROM and gapps. Optional: all that is in the fix is a framework-res.apk. if you replace it in ROM before flashing should be ok also

Hmmm. Unable to get it to boot on mine. I'm using CWM 5.5.0.4. Do I need to update that? I install your listed packages but just stuck at MIUI screen. *this is my late night opinion/guess**
If this uses cm10 kernel and modules in theory that could work, as long as the updater-script don't wipe boot partition.

This is a stock, rooted TW 4.3 rom based off of the recent ML1 update. It does not contain a bootloader or modem. KNOX has been NIXED too. ThePagel was able to grab the .tar which made this possible. Go throw a huge thanks his way.
First build was packaged in all of it's bloated glory. Just wanted everyone to see what all the update had to offer....minus the locked bootloader...lol
Second build, I did some debloating to see how much we could trim this thing up and still meet everyone's needs. Good thing I posted a .zip of all of the apps I pulled out, huh. One man's bloat is another man's treasure.
This time, I'll leave it up to you. I rebuilt it with Aroma to allow everyone to choose what apps get installed.

To Install:

FAQ
Q: I took the update, can I install this?
A: Sorry, your bootloader is now locked and currently there is no method for installing custom roms.
Q: If I install this can I go back to any other rom?
A: Yes. This is just a custom rom like any other rom that you have flashed. It does not have the ability to lock your bootloader because none of that GARBAGE is included.
Q: Will this update me to the newest modem?
A: No, the modem is not included though it is highly recommended that you update to the ML1 modem (flash modem only, no other firmware).
Q: I know that I'm still on the MF1 bootloader but I flashed this and now I've got a big yellow triangle and it says something about unauthorized software. What happened?
A: You forgot to unlock your bootloader. Now you need to Odin back to MF1 and then unlock it with the Casual Tool.
Q: Will the Xposed framework mods work on this rom?
A: Several people have been using them with varying results. Load up a few and let us know how they work!
Q: Will google wallet work on this rom?
A: Yes. See here for instructions.
Q: Why does my flash go off when I receive a call?
A: It's a glitch in the update. See here.
Q: Why is my battery draining so fast?
A: Here's a couple of reasons that have been discovered here and here.
Q: Why am I showing to be connected to 4G and Wifi at the same time?
A: Either use TiBu and freeze "Caller Name ID 1.14.10" or your favorite root explorer and delete Canid.apk.

First boot will ask about fixing recovery. Subsequent reboots will ask to fix root. Always "just say no"....lol.

Thanks for this guys! It's my late Christmas gift. I have been waiting for TW 4.3 and held when the stock was released. It didn't take long! I bet those guys that went with the OTA are wishing they would have waited a few more days.

Need that modem or your 4G is gonna suck. The RIL don't match 4.1.2 Modems.
