Hello all.
Today mine optimus froze at LG logo screen for no reason, and its been like this no matter what i do.
I already updated it with the LG update tool on the emergency/recovery option, it downloaded a 368mb file and flashed into, but when I turn on the phone again it get stuck on the logo anyway.
I can't get into recovery mode either (vol down + 3d+ power), it ALWAYS get stuck on the LG logo.
Then I also tried flashing as mentioned here showthread.php?t=1540163 , it completes all the process but again when I turn the phone on it get stuck.
Anyone hane any idea? I'm about to throw it on th toilet
I had the same problem, deleted the drivers, tried again. Somehow it worked after a few tries.
I'm about to flash with the lg emergency /recovery for the 12th time haha.
I don't see how I will get anything diferent from the other tries.
I have the same problem after installing a Thiaiz rom.
Can you explain step by step how you recover from this issue?
Thank you
Are you sure you are flashing it right? Anyway try this.
Step 1
download
V21a from here:
http://content.wuala.com/contents/caroceiro/optimus 3d/roms/ORIGINALES/V21A_00.kdz?dl=1
or
V21d from here:
http://content.wuala.com/contents/caroceiro/optimus 3d/roms/ORIGINALES/V21D_00.kdz?dl=1
Step 2
download this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=887870&d=1328537753
Step 3
make sure you have installed your lg phone drivers before continuing to the next step
Step 4
unzip LG_KDZ_FW-Update_OfflineFix.zip
you will find a filename Automatic Offline Procedure.vbs
run it
if everything runs ok it will take you to the upgrade tool if not it will probably show you a windows script host error
if that happens try running it manualy from folder
LG_KDZ_FW-Update_OfflineFix
KDZ_FW_UPD_EN
KDZ_FW_UPD.exe
as soon as KDZ_FW_UPD.exe select Type: 3qct and PhoneMode: Emergency
select your downloaded kdz file , now you should take off you battery , press volume up and power on the phone , connect the usb cable and after 5-6 sec release the buttons and put the batery
Press Launch software update
It will take some time to decompress the files but if everything is ok it will start.
You will see the progress with various messages the last message ends with 0
That should do the job..
I will try this again but the links are incomplete!
Did it again, got the 0 on the end but still stuck at lg logo when booting it up again.

One correction: LG has removed v21D from their servers almost 10 days ago.
As I post above, I had the same problem.
The only way to solve it was go to the local LG support.
They verified that the phone (it was been rooted by me and the custom CWM installed) was in the warranty period and, without any questions in 2 days they put the phone in my hands as new with the acual gingerbread firmware. No costs for me.
Good service!

Yes. Lisboa/ Alfragide/Parque dos Moinhos. The assistance agent is "Mobile All" indicated to me by telephonic LG Client Support.
As a reason for the problem I said that when turned on the phone just don,t started staying stucked at the first LG screen.
EDIT: I had no CG till now.

OK i fixed the links although you already found the KDZ files.
Ok try this
remove your usb cable
remove your battery
insert battery again
press and hold volume down button
press power button
(you dont have to press 3d button thats for CWM Recovery)
after 8-10 seconds it will show you LG logo
release the power button and then the volume button
It will take you to the recovery menu
select yes
then again wipe EVERYTHING
ALL 4 OPTIONS
you can move with volume up and down and with menu key you run the commands
Good Luck
Got my fingers hurting after so many times i've tried it already.
Still stuck at lg logo.
I'm starting to think it is a hardware problem of some kind.

Just flashed it again without the battery. It wen't all the way through 100%, didn't stop at 6% to put the battery on =/ guess what... Didn't work.
I will try it again to see if I hit the 6% stop. Worth a try.
I'm pretty sure I'm not skipping any step. I do uninstall every single time the LG drivers. Its pretty annoying.
Trying on a diferent computer right now.

Hey ppl. I have a really BIG problem with my G2x and I was wondering if you could help me out. I ran the LG Mobile Support Tool to update my G2x to 2.3.3. After the process, my phone is stuck on "S/W Upgrade Please wait while upgrading..."
I tried using to LG Support Tool and it's saying that I'm running V21e
I can't boot into recovery. All I get is "S/W Upgrade Please wait while upgrading..."
Before doing this I had done a backup through the recovery. How do I get it to bootup?
Any advice and assistance would be greatly appreciated.
I have the same problem! Stuck on "S/W Upgrade Please wait while updating..."
So pulling the battery out, unplugging the USB and pressing vol-down + power doesn't boot to recovery? Did it freeze at 4% or get all the way through and now you're having this problem?
I'd suggest shutting the phone completely off and trying to root it again using NVFlash: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1054492&highlight=nvflash
I think that's the only real option if you can't get into recovery. I'm not guaranteeing it will work, but it's worth a shot.
If you can get it rooted again and get back to CWM, flash 2.3.3 using this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179748 instead of LG's awful garbage updater.

It went all the way through.
I did the battery pull and pressed Power + Vol-Down and it didn't boot into recovery.
Same issue.
I've been working on this since about 1:00 PST.
I've tried 32 bit laptop. 64 bit desktop.
When I had initially got it going after about an hour, it basically had gotten to the "download" tab and constantly got stuck a 4%.
I have never had root on the phone, no custom roms or anything. Just a $543 brick.
Called LG was told to "Pull the battery and put it back in". Seriously? You guys had me on hold for 5 minutes and wasted 15 minutes of my time to tell me that?
Then I was told by the same guy if that doesn't work there are no other current workarounds other than sending the phone back to them.
No thanks.
Then I was live chatting with an LG guy named Jorge at the same time. He told me we needed to hard reset. Told him can't do that because the "S/W Upgrading" screen will just flash back after a power plus volume up hold. He said he believes we're having issues because it is so new, they seemed to have been blind sided by this. He said that they think that everyone was trying to update at the same time, possibly suggesting server overload.
Anyway, I've tried multiple computers, multiple USB ports on each. Multiple USB cables, and I even tried using a KDZ file that apparently housed the entire update. But for the life of me, I have no clue how to flash a .kdz file.
Any suggestions are MORE than welcome!
Thanks guys, and good luck.

I'm at the same place. I have CWM installed and can access it. I've flashed different ROMS and tried to restore my old one. It all works, I'm sure, but I can't get past that S/W Update screen to find out!
Sorry guys, wish I could help more but I'm stumped. I'm sure there are people on here smarter than I am who can figure this out. It seems to be a widespread problem so hopefully someone will figure out a fix. Damn LG s/w updater. This isn't the first time it's bricked phones.

2. if i try to boot into recovery i get "s/w upgrading"

I did the exact same thing to my phone the other day. Then install the new rom via clockworld after its done.
But if you installed the 2.3.4 then don't update to any rom besides the kwes 2.3.4 because anything else you won't have audio or anything while in call there is no fix for it yet besides using kdz to downgrade.

if you're unsure of the APX drivers set-up you have a more basic guide here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056847
Remove the battery.
Plug in your USB cable to your PC.
Hold Volume Up and Volume Down at the same time keeping them held down.
Plug in the USB cable to your phone. (Keep the buttons held until Windows detects a new APX device.)
Open Device Manager in Windows and you should see "APX Device" listed with an error icon.
Right click on the APX device.
Select 'Update driver software'.
Select 'Browse my computer...'.
Select 'Let me pick...'.
Select 'Have disk'.
Browse to directory you extracted the *driver* software to: One-Click-G2x-recovery-flasher-09-23\APX.
Accept any warnings, including the big red alert (you may need to disable UAC).
Now in Device Manager under 'USB Controllers' you should have an 'NVIDIA USB Boot-recovery driver for mobile devices'.
If not, uninstall the driver, reboot, rinse and repeat.

I don't think you're booting the phone up into cwm the right way.
Lol do this:
Make sure phone is off. While the phone is off hold down the volume down button.
While still holding volume down, hold the power button.
Continue to hold BOTH the volume down and power buttons. When the SECOND LG logo appears, let go of both of the buttons.
And no offense, but if you're not comfortable with modding your phone... you really shouldn't do it or ask someone else who knows what they're doing to do it.

That script is perfectly fine and didn't hurt your phone at all. It states that it will wipe everything out even the rom you were previously on. So when the phone rebooted it stayed on that LG logo because it didn't have a rom to bootup.
At that point a quick battery pull and reboot into recovery was all you needed to do.

Try flashing the stock recovery thru the one click nvflash utility and leave it off for a few min. Then run the g2x batch cleanup tool and see if it then let's u boot into the recovery. (By holding down volume - when hitting power on)

Ok, so then its safe to assume that you rooted your phone first? Then you set up your phone by using nvflash so you can use ClockWorkMod (CWM)? Then booted your phone into recovery and tried to install ICS? If not done in this order then thats your fault. If you did it in this order then you missed something.
A common mistake is trying to install a ROM via CWM while the phone is running. When you do this the phone restarts and gives you the error triangle with android underneath it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1039985 Tells you how to do as well as provides links to everything it doesn't.
As for recovery they provisded the right link. Follow it to the "T" and you'll be ok.

But the key issue was that CWM recovery was destroyed as well after nullifing thus leaving me in a stand still to do something. nvflash was the only thing left to recover the phone at that point which worked very well.
There is pretty much no way that after running either the One-Click or Cleanup Batch that he can't get the phone into CWM unless there is a hardware problem. This most likely means that the problem isn't with the scripts or phone, but with the procedure he is attempting.
Even if nullifier (which I don't think is of much use here) had wiped all partitions, the NVFlash will still pop you out of it and leave you with a working CWM.
So keep reading and keep watching videos of how to do it and make sure your drivers are correct. READ a bunch first.
And remember that he got here due to an LG software problem or issue with operation, not from trying to flash as a noob, so he knows he's in over his head right now.
Remember, we all had to start swimming somewhere and it usually wasn't pretty at first. Mine was a corrupted Motorola RAZR.
It appears that this is an older post, but if you are still having this issue, then maybe I can help. If anyone else finds this later, hopefully it helps them as well. I just did something similar and I thought I was screwed. I rooted my phone, installed a ROM (Hellfire... nice ROM BTW), then I got the nullifier. I installed the ROM before I ran the nullifier because I wanted to make sure the ROM worked. However, after running the nullifier, the ROM didn't work.
The only thing that I could get to show was the LG logo at the startup... no second logo (Blue LG), no SW upgrade... NOTHING. The phone wouldn't do anything else. Luckily, I wasn't the first to have this issue and they found the solution...
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1566681
Since you have already done other steps, I am assuming that you already have the drivers installed. So, the only thing you should need to do is download the ROM then install it by clicking flash.bat. The instructions on the page are pretty easy to follow.
No need to deal with the NvFlash until AFTER you do the above procedure. You will need to run it again after the above procedure because it puts it back in the original state (pretty much). The NvFlash will give you the superuser and Clockmod back. You should be good to go after that.

1. Take the battery off
2. Open the "lg update tool" make sure you open it with internet connection

Boot into recovery and do a factory reset first.
Hey, guys!
First post from me in this forum, although I have been searching for some things for some times.
So, the problem is that I had Cyanogenmod 7.2 on my LG P500 for couple months. And ROM was working ok, but there was some problems and I thought I should get back to stock ROM, because actually it was working better and smoother. So, I searched for stock roms for my phone, found one and started to flash. Everything flashed well, phone booted up and then wave of errors started to come. So I thought that it ain't gonna be usable and tried to install a stock rom through official LG Updater, which obviously wasn't a good thing to do. everything, downloaded, installed, phone booted up and I was waiting with hope that it will boot up (android loading screen at least was showing), but it didn't happen. After that I managed to power phone off with getting battery out and then I tried to fix everything with one tutorial I saw in this forum with kdz updater. but at the begging it couldn't connect with my phone and after that screen showd Emergency Mode. nothing I could do, again took out battery to power it off and now phones doesn't show any signs of life.
What does it mean (maybe my phones is same as brick) and what should I do?
I would appreciate your help.

Plug in the wall charger for about an hour, and then try the buttons - press power button+ volume up button + back button together
keep pressed all three for long duration (maybe 8-10 secs you see yellow screen with written Emergency Mode). Then you are in Emergency Mode.
If no screen yet, then bricked - only LG repair center option.
I have a LG Optimus 3D, and recently upgraded it to JellyBam. It was going great, besides the fact my battery life would be gone within 4 hours of it being in sleep mode.
So I tried to flash it with Promethius V1.5 21E & Promethius Kernel V1.5 though I messed up on the way. I am not sure what this is called, as I thought bricking it was when it was stuck on a boot loop, but I'll try my best to describe it. When I turn my phone on it does a good job and the LG boot screen appears, then after few seconds of that it goes to a white screen with random pixels everywhere.
I can't get into recovery mode to reinstall JellyBam and try to install Promethius back after that... just goes straight to the white screen everytime.
Is there any software that can wipe it back to vanilla software from the phone just being on like this? I am not even sure if my computer is detecting it though. I fear for my device
Sorry if this question has been asked a billion times; I googled this and couldn't come back with a problem exactly the same as mine.

Good idea
Yeah, I can't get that to work. Somewhere between step 5 and 6 just didn't happen for me... in the cmd window that the fastboot application opened, all went well until I hit the parts where it says Please remove the USB cable, and wait until the LG Logo on then reconnect the USB again. Shortly after it prints that out it says ' fastboot deviced (y/N) ? and press <ENTER> ' I type y and enter, and it repeats the same question over and over again... so I left it blank and pushed enter and then it asked for ' Do you want to replace MLO(x-loader) (y/N) ? ' Same thing happens here, I have to just push enter. Next question was ' Do you want to replace u-boot (y/N) ' and once again, I had to push enter. Once that was done it printed out ' ls: cwm/p920-*.img: No such file or directory Press any key to continue . . . " I push any key and it stops the fast boot. Nothing happened, still launches to a white screen and not that picture I see in the tutorial.
I am sorry I didn't state this before, when it comes to phones I am mentally challenged. It's probably the reseason it got bricked in the first place, I am trying stuff I really shouldn't. I don't understand most terms, and because of that tutorials are hard for me to understand.Though I did get Step 2 done, which was pretty easy. Another thing I don't get is between step 2 and 4, when do I put the battery back in? It says in step 2 remove it, and in step 4 remove it aswell.. but no where in between does it say put it back in.
Try answering no to fastbooting (phone can't boot now apparently) and yes to u-boot and x-loader. You already have recovery so you don't need cwm, so no to that one.
You are replacing/reinstalling the bootloaders by doing this, since they are 'corrupted' by installing an incompatible kernel.

If you are using my tutorial. it would be much better to post your question on the thread's tutorial.
Can you describe in details what's happening with a photo attachment on my tutorial please.
Any support is welcome there
Ah. Sounds as though omap driver needs to be set up so pc can see the phone. It seems Karim has you covered. Good luck dude!
