I'll install Launcher Pro on mine and let you know what I find out... could you remind me the SGS2 resolution, please?
I can confirm that it's not working on Launcher Pro or QQLauncher, while it is working on GO Launcher EX and ADW with any resolution. Now I have only to undertand why... I'll test something and let you know as soon as I can! Thanks for the feedbacks!

On Launcher Pro Plus and my resolution is 480x800.

Ah ok, I found the mistake. Apparently, LauncherPro and QQLauncher base themselves on the DPI value of theI got it working on the Dual by changing the layout of the widget so that it scales with the DPIs and now it works. I'll make it work on SGS2 between today and tomorrow. (Delay due to work time ). If you get to any other device onto which is not working, let me know the device and I'll fix it

Thanks for making this! The thickness of the lines making up the box are a bit too thick. It should be more like 2px wide as opposed to the 5px or so you have now. Otherwise it is awesome!
Oh yeah, it also should not go all the way to the screen edges. There should be a gap on each side.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
I made this image with desktop visualizer if you would like to use it. It is pretty much pixel perfect (well as close as you can get considering it is scaling from 1280x720 to 800x480).
I had to cut out the mic icon so it has a bit of dark line around it still. I am trying to find a vector to use. Might have to draw it from scratch. :/
Here is a better version! (the image is there, it is just invisible cause it is all white on a transparent background)
Today I found an App for that, Do You know its name?
Didn't work on nexus s 4g running latest stable cyanogen mod release with stock adw. I know your working on it so I'll just hold out for the update. Widget looks great.
What is this widget called on the market?
Epic Life, Epic Phone... It all makes sense to me.
Outline of the search bar is too thick and it's not working on my Nexus S.
Hello everyone,
and thanks for the feedbacks! I posted a new version on the market, with a thinner outline and I tested out on SGS2 as well. For the Nexus S... I hope it works, if it doesn't, just post something here and I'll fix it. Looks like Samsung likes to mess around with DPIs, but now I found out the way (I should, at least) and I should be able to fix it for every device you want to
I also inserted a gap on both sides and studying if to put a gap even on the top... what do you think?
Thanks for your future feedback!

Just installed it from the market and it looks great. No problems or errors, running CM7 w/ launcher Pro on the MyTouch4G.
Love the Tiwiz App, but when You have adw+ the app "ice cream sandwich (theme)", the search bar looks a bit better. However: Good work!
Please provide landscape support. When you look at it in landscape mode the search widget is very small
Epic Life, Epic Phone... It all makes sense to me.
I was thinking that I bet the SPB Shell 3D Launcher would be GREAT on the Note. It is expensive. It is up to $14.95 now but isn't your Note worth it ??

I saw already a thread about the spb I think it was in the general forum.

The thread is in the correct place now. You gotta go to college to figure out this theme I think.
Dont get it....i have tried it and it looks very bad...tiny icons and not good as shown in the video due to our screen resolution...may be they may update once nexus is out but as of now its unusable...

from the sound of things, you havent even tried to tweak it?
if you go into the home settings, experimental, you can switch between tablet and smartphone layouts. smartphone layout is what you'd want for our screen. the only downside is that smartphone layout reverts to a 4x4 grid with larger icons. hopefully they'll fix it in future. the only other issue is that due to the unusual screen size vs resolution, some of the widget borders arent placed correctly.
personally, i used it on my old motorola atrix, and now im using it on my note. i prefer it because it leaves me much more free ram over the course of the day compared to touchwiz, and it has the widgets that i like. it also seems to run smoother for me compared to launcherpro.
I have SPB Shell 3D on my Note and it works really well. If you are finding everything too small, you need to change the settings from tablet mode to phone mode - then it will look pretty much as you would expect. In the long run I actually really like tablet mode - it's pretty small but you can fit a huge amount of info on a screen. Overall speed and visual quality is great in either mode.
I'll have to admit that I don't use it that often, but it is a really sophisticated launcher......
where is that setting found ?? Tablet & Phone.
oops .. never mind found it !
@shEEEsh if you have latest spb shell
try menue,homescreen settings and experimental
i hope this right because i'm using german language settings

SPB is very nice. Very cool looking if nothing else. I've used it for a few weeks but I keep going back to ADW. Some of the swipe shortcuts you can do with ADW are just too useful to pass up and I like the ways you can customize the dock with ADW.
SPB Mobile Shell update
This launcher has been updated and now you can alter the size of the Android widgets!! It is a great alternative and it seems to make the Note even snappier all round, from responsiveness to opening and scrolling through the screens - a great alternative to TW!!
Some of the SPB widgets are excellent too!
Looks good but not worth the price IMHO.
Holy crap, its amazing
I'm using 1.2.4. Whats new in 1.5?

SPB widgets are awesome, but the downside is its still stuck on either 4x4 or 16x16. they need to give users a choice. i'd personally prefer either 5x5 or 6x6 with the resolution we have.
ah well, hopefully they'll update it soon since there are a lot more HD phones launching next year. although HD doesnt have as many pixels as our WXGA display, the extra features would still be appreciated. its nice to know theyve adjusted the scaling of the widgets to match our displays though, the calendar widget now displays properly.
oh and SPB manages ram usage a bit better than touchwiz from my experience. you end up with more free ram to play with.
I'm using spb in tablet mode and I think it's amazing.
Much snappier since the recent updates and I can fit loads on the screens.
Just needs a few tweaks like customization of dockyard etc and I'm very happy.

1.5 fixes the scaling issue (ie. text no longer pops outside of windows). it also adds more panels and improves panel management.
just dont update to 1.52. i just did. it adds support for android 3.x and 4.x but it messes up the scaling so text on some screens is small. the weather widget doesnt look as good in 1.52 compared to 1.5.
running in tablet mode and have to say this is the best launcher up till now i have used awd and launcher pro but spb is the best for me
They should offer trial versions.

Finally, a sense live wallpaper app that works on ALL ROM versions and looks perfectly replicated https://market.android.com/details?id=com.tribok.android.livewallpaper.sensy.lite
If you'd like the app and would like to support the developer plus get a nice ICS lwp clone included, check here: https://market.android.com/details?...kLmxpdmV3YWxscGFwZXIuaWNzd2FsbHBhcGVyLnBybyJd
The sense live wallpaper app was an idea I came up with and asked the dev about. We started talking and he decided to make it We just wanted a version that looked exactly like Sense (unlike a few clones that don't look like it or seriously outdated and resource-hungry) that actually worked without the sense framework. So here you are... I don't take any credit for this. It was all "Vectors and Pixels Indiegames". I'm just relaying the message because he is new here on XDA and has minimum posting abilities. Enjoy everyone! And don't forget to support the dev if you like it
Good stuff. I bought it to support the developer as it's really great. I'm probably going to use Mystic Halo still though
Played around for a bit - Wow it's fast and nicely done. Works perfect on m Nexus One. I would't mind seeing some more presets for the default ICS style with darker colours, or variations of blues, etc We need more tight programmers like this!
I've been reading a lot about the Note 10.1. Frankly, tablets are a luxury for me as I already have a decent desktop at home, and don't really like carrying more stuff than I absolutely need, when commuting 2 hours back and forth every day. And I already have the Note 5.3, which frankly is a little over rated for its s-pen integration.
But now I want the tablet, thanks to all the marvelous reviews and comments I've seen! One burning question which I have is games. I'm not a heavy gamer but there's one game which I really liked on the S2, which doesn't work on the Note: Adventures of Tintin. Can someone confirm whether this game can be installed and played in the gorgeous mode? Rather than the laughably ugly 2D mode?
Another question: how good is video editing on this tablet? I'm asking this in behalf of someone who's considering getting an ipad with imovie (spelling?).
Lastly, is it easy to create or edit powerpoint slides with the Note? Its fiddly on my phone, but I imagine it to be much better on a larger device.
TIA!
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-devers app
I downloaded it to my Note 5.3, backed it up and side loaded it to the Note and it comes up saying, device is not compatible with this game. Please request a refund. So it would seem it doesn't work on the Note 10.1
TS
Of course you can create or edit powerpoint as you like and its better on device have a big screen like Note 10.0 , and it come with Polaris Office preinstalled app , more easy

Thanks for the replies. I'm kind of sad about Tintin not working on the 10.1. May I know of it runs in the"gorgeous" mode on your 5.3?
Yeah, you're right about editing ppts, it should be a lot easier on a larger screen.
Now I'm just waiting for thoughts about video editing.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
Wow, that Tintin game downloaded over 830MB of data into the phone to even play.
anyway, I honestly can't tell if it is in gorgeous mode. I don''t see any mode setting anywhere. It looks like it is. lol

I'm shopping for a new tablet and I'm considering the note 10.1. Best Buy currently has them for $350. That seems like a pretty good deal.
My question is, is this still a good option? Are there good, solid, stable ROM's out there?
Is there anything else I should know. It seems like this tab has the ability to be pretty good.
Thanks for any input you have.

You'll find no other device at the same level with Note 10.1 at that price range

I really like my note. If you want the Spen then it is absolutely great. I take so many notes on it for school and it is extremely convenient to be able to multi task during lecture. Really i use this more than my laptop. I turn off wifi (sometimes the tablet) at night and with use at school (like 2 hours a day) for notes i can get a few days out of it sometimes a week, it depends on how distracted i get during a lecture and play games Anyway, I am really glad i got this tablet. If you dont think you will use the Spen then go for something else because it really is the biggest reason to get it. And IMO it is pointless to get this tablet to install CM10 or PAC on it, because the Spen doesnt work as well after that if it even does work. Message me if you have other questions, i will try to reply...
Thanks for the replies. I wen t ahead and bought it. But if anyone else want's to throw in their thoughts on what's good and what to avoid that would be appreciated.

There are many ROMs to choose.
ARHD (that I use) is close to stock ROM.
Boeffla kernel is enhanced kernel with OC feature.
Install Boeffla Config if you flash Boeffla kernel.
Flash Noozxoide if you want sound enhancement.
Boeffla kernel also features Boeffla Sound enhancement.
Choose a case wisely before buying one.
Strong magnetic field may "damage" wacom digitizer.
For apps....
I use 2 Office suites: Quickoffice by google & AndrOpen Office
Quickoffice is an Office suite for offline & cloud (an office suite that was bought by Google)
AndrOpen Office is a ported version of Open Office (a full office suite that was a default office suite in Linux)
Linux default Office Suite now mostly is Libre Office, a fork of Open Office.
For S-Note alternative I use LectureNotes & Write
LectureNotes is Bitmap based & Write is Vector based.
For navigating I use Waze.
Very usefull to avoid traffic jam & in some country it can show you the nearest & cheapest gas price too.
That's all for now.
Just ask if you have any questions

And for some "play with my device" thing you can use AccuWeather for weather forecast, Android Tuner for some infos and tunning your device,
Moon+ reader for reading an e-book and e-magazines and best app I ever seen is Lux Dash for automaticaly brigtness and so called Night filter -
it's useful when you are using your device in night or dark room and everybody knows after while eyes crying and even headache can appears,
so this app according your location recognize if in your country is NIGHT or DAY and night filter is for your eyes safety.
More here: Lux Dash Lite
Have great time with this great "pet" :highfive:
I just got one last night and its pretty sweet. Walmart had them for $275.00 as a heads up. I have a note 3 and a nexus 7 but so far im really liking the large screen and spen use.

I got a grey one yesterday. Came from a Nexus 7 and a short stint with the Tab 3 8.0. Still adjusting to the size if it, but loving the speed and spen. Deciding if I should root or not.

It's not nearly as sharp as a full HD or UHD/Retina display, but I've had zero issues wit it, and I do quite a bit of reading and stuff on it. I wouldn't worry about the screen unless you're really picky and willing to put more money into a nicer screen.
