It's their webpack data the same as tmobile?
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/catalog.gsp?cat=1083044
1gb of data for $40, no thanks. I have two lines each of us use 1gb/mo. That would be $150 plus tax per month. Curren t bill is $120 plus tax for unlimited data, 400text, 1600mins and 5 my favs.
Check out simple mobile, unlimited for $60/mo.
No.... hmmmm I wonder if these people have a walmart plan:

If I go to Walmart to buy the Sensation, can I just add a line to my family plan for $10/month and never use the line? Wouldn't that be easier and cheaper than buying outright? Right now I pay like $165/month for two lines, unlimited everything.
T-Mobile has add a line for 10$
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
So is there anything wrong with my theory?
My understanding is that you can't just add a line...
In order to qualify for the full discount, you need to add specific plans that REQUIRE DATA. If you look at any of the smart phones on-line now, you'll see that you can't just add a $10 line if you select one of the free smart phones.
Is this accurate?

When I added a line for my friend's Samsung Vibrant last year they required the data plan in order to get the subsidized price on his phone. I don't imagine its changed but you can always just ask them in the store.
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
So here's what's gonna happen: if you have an unlimited even more or even more plus, your add a line is gonna cost you around 30 bucks if I'm not mistaken. The phone requires a data plan, and since your account has unlimited everything, they'll just leverage that.
The other scenario would be that it would cost you 20 bucks. 10 bucks for add a line, and 10 bucks for 250mb data (new line only). And no, your not required to use that line, and you don't have to cause they don't really care.
So, I think you *might* be better off just buying the phone out right.
I hope that helped!

you all are missing the simple math...add a line for 10$ = $240 for the 2 year contract plus the purchase price of about 150$ so total would be $390 plus the headache of the data plan...or just wait a couple of weeks and you will see them of craigslist for $350..and no possible headache to follow

Aren't you contradicting yourself? Isn't the headache of the data plan making it more than $10/month?

Bump........
Hey guys. I was snooping around in the G2X threads and found a thread talking about an Android Preferred data plan. You can get 5gb for only $20 instead of $30. I heard that it uncaps your data also. People have reported no throttling also. I called up and asked for the Android Preferred Plan and I got it. Even if it doesnt uncap data, im still saving $20 a month (2 lines). The rep told me that it reset my data usage for the month. Awesome!! Give it a try guys!

I can confirm this, i've done this on 3 lines already.
Oh ****. Time to save some more green. 20 bucks is 20 bucks that's a half tank of gas. Love it.

They just told me this is only for loyalty plans and is not available for Classic plans. Can anyone confirm this?

Yes they lied to you.
I have a 6 year old family plan with 5 lines and we all have the pref android plan.
Then again we also have free myfavs, free unlimited wifi calling and 9.99 unlimited messaging. Just make sure you get routed to retentions when you call in (say cancel at the prompt)
Sent from my myTouch_4G_Slide using XDA App
Thanks guys, I called retentions and they added the feature to both lines. The only catch with the Classic plans is that it is a required feature, meaning you have to keep it for two years. No big deal, just renewed last month anyway.
the 2 year contract is pretty much a moot point if the merger/takeover goes through, i think if it does we'll all be able to get out of any contract ETF free.
Even if AT&T says they will guarantee existing pricing, I know that they will force me to change to something more expensive or leave since they have nothing that comes close to price with what I am getting now (5 lines with all those features for almost $200 WITH taxes). AT&T will tell me to hit the road
It seems as it is truely unlimited and not 5GB. Either way, it's better than the 2GB I was stuck with before.
My plan gives me 5 gigs for $15... Its two lines for?$99 or something with 2 gigs, for my line i pay an extra $15 for 5 gigs.... So what plan are you guys on where $20 is cheaper?
Sent from my myTouch_4G_Slide using XDA App
The classic plan. Also the new android plan only comes with 2GB of unthrottled data. No thank you.
Sent from my Supercharged MT4G Slide Running Undead's Senseless ROM using xda premium
So I'm paying 25 per line right now. Supposed to be unlimited but caps at 5 gigs. I don't have a contract. Is this going to be the same thing but $20 instead?
Sent from my mt4gs
Wow thanks guys. I called them today and was like give me the plan. The woman was like that just for loyalties I can't add it. So I asked he to transfer me to who can. Then kissed ass when reached that department and was like. I appreciate it and thanks for your time. In the end it all worked out.

Last time I renewed it was $30 for the "unlimited" Android data plan that goes to EDGE after 5GB.
I am calling them today and see if I can get that plan too. I am on the two gig unlimited plan right now. I went over last month and it slowed down so much it was almost unusable. Don't want that to happen again.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using Tapatalk
Just got off the phone with them and it was a no go for me. They said that plan was not available to me. I even spoke to retention. I wonder if is because I just like two weeks ago signed a new contract so they figure they got me locked in no matter what.

When in doubt or met with resistance, just politely say thank you and hang up... then call and get another customer service rep.
I have 2 accounts with tmobile, one has 5 lines and was there since the voicestream days, and my other account is brand new (2 months old) and i was able to switch lines on both.
Hmmmm OK I will give it a try again tomorrow. They may just give it to me just to keep me feom calling again. LOL

Got my Sensation for $25 with a 3 year contract. Unfortunately in Canada we have to sign a 3 year contract to get a good deal on a phone. 3 year contracts are not allowed every where else in the world.

I got mine as an "out of box special" (review model) from Handtec. Cost £351 including shipping. At the time, that was about $500aud. Compare that to signing up for a 2-year contract with the most expensive telco in the country, costing around $2k all up, and it looks like I got the bargain of the century.

I know Canada's cell phone industry is messed up like that.
Payed $150.00 brand new in the box with no contract
Just curious, what do you guys do, I was thinking about somehow opening another line on my family plan for the razr. Sounds like it would cost the extra $40 per month? Doubt I could keep the unlimited data.
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk
You could always do that and just use the line as a backup or something.
Generally whenever you open up a new line, it's a brand new activation and adhere's to the carrier's current policies which means no unlimited data for it unless you activate the phone under your own line that has unlimited data.
I don't know how it would only cost 40 bucks I added a line on mine for my gf an it pretty much doubled the phone bill its almost 200 a month now.

This thread leads me to a question. I'm currently on a family plan with my cousin. It's only us 2 and she's the account holder. She has a 2 year contract on her iPhone 4 and so do I with my TB. If I were to purchase a Droid Razr for the insane amount of whatever it costs without a contract, and want to make that one my everyday phone, would it be possible to keep our current unlimited data plan? Or would we have to sign another 2 year contract for the both of us and lose our grandfathered unlimited data?

If you buy it off contract it doesn't renew or change ANYTHING on your current plan, so you should be able to keep unlimited data when you activate it.
