Hi
This is a compatibility package for the Asus EEE Pad Slider SL101. It should be flashed with CWM on top of an ICS ROM that is compatible with the TF101.
Confirmed working!
If it fails, don't panic. Just flash the ICS ROM you were using again. If this is your first custom ROM on the Slider you should be able to go back to stock.
Don't use this with Honeycomb ROMS. If this one works I'll create another one for Honeycomb but I think someone already made one.
It should work perfectly with CM 9 and AOKP.
NB: the official update zip on the Asus website for the TF101 is fully compatible with the SL101.
Changelog:
v1.3: replaced updater binary
v1.2: replaced corrupt zip
v1.1: fixed updater script
v1.0: initial release (based on V9.2.1.17)
Features
Most of the TF101 ICS ROMS will work with the Slider without this but these files change some device specific settings:
-sound should be better (both speaker & headphones)
-battery life should be better
-support for more keyboards

interesting, when I try to open the file on my computer, I get the error, "the archive is either in unknown format or damaged" Maybe a bad upload? I've downloaded three times now
I think it was indeed a bad upload, I replaced it
I may not understand the purpose of this, but this package contains 100% the same files as ICS update for TF101. So what is "SL101" compatible here? Every ICS TF101 based ROM have already those files.
Or maybe it's only for CM?

The official update file contains these files and so does your ROM but these files are not included in some custom ROMs like CM9 or AOKP.
Asus uses one single update file to update the TF101, the TF101G and the SL101 and I even found something about the TF300T (not released yet).

No I meant the headphone jack *and* the speaker

Ok, will look into that. Btw, you don't need to flash this if you're running stock ICS for TF101
A question: I having sound issues, it becomes mute and I have to reboot the device to get the sound working again, also having a little instability... is this update fix the mute sound problem?
thanks!

I don't think so. It tweaks the settings for the sound processor. Sound should be more clear with this.

Yes, the stock ROMs for the TF101, TF101G, SL101 and TF300T (not released yet but I found related files in the source) already include all the files needed for all these devices. It's meant for custom ROMs where these files are deleted from the source.
Example: you don't need it in Android Revolution HD because they are already included.

INSTRUCTIONS
1. Take all necessary backups (just in case something goes wrong)
2. Download the CWM flashable zip from one of the links below
3. Flash the zip via CWM
NOTES
1. There is no proper working DSP Manager until we have CM.
2. I have tested this package under XXLQ9 firmware and have encountered no problems at all.

Why this will not work:
- The libs and binaries are compiled for the NEON instruction set which we don't have. (This will be a problem maybe, I'm checking it now.)
EDIT:
I didn't check the first lines of the file. Sorry for misleading. The mentioned line '/dev/block/platform/omap/omap_hsmmc.0/by-name/system' is just unnecessary but doesn't cause any problems.

I will forward that to the dev. However, there has been at least 1 other user which reported it as working. In the test build, DSP was installed and working but verry buggy.

Forwarded. Can you suggest a proper sound test method to check if it's somehow really working or is just an impression ?
Well, the original zip gave me 'status 6' error in CWM. (because of some bad formatting ('line 1 col 56: syntax error, unexpected BAD')). If anybody of you know what is the problem pls let us know.

This one http://j.gs/1S6F has the test build updater-script. This one is another package done with the sample cwm zip : http://j.gs/1S6I - if anyone else can confirm as working I'll add to OP. These ones should at least give no errors in CWM. I cannot do much unless the dev joins this discussion.
Here is a modified version of the zip. Flash and let me know guys. I flashed and it went thru successfully. Could not check Megabassbeats features. Feeling sleepy. If working fine, ask the OP to update the post with this zip.

Looks like with a permissions' fix, your package works, however I need at least 1 more person to confirm before pushing it to the OP.
I've recently returned my phone to stock nordic ics + latest ardadat kernel and cannot notice any difference in sound quality. I'm pretty sure mbb is not working on our phone.
Everyone is in love with AOKP and some of the other ROMs and kernels around here, but I didn't want or need everything that was added in to them. So, being that Android is open source, I decided to make my own. If you love a lot of customization, pull down toggles, and having everything (kitchen sink included), then this probably isn't going to be the combination for you, so you can save yourself some time and just look elsewhere. My ROM is close to stock AOSP, with a few extras added in that I wanted to help with usability without being over the top. If you like the stock JB experience, but feel that it's missing just a little bit, then this combination may be for you.
To go with the ROM, I put together a mostly stock kernel as well. The kernel is based on the same source as the CM10 kernel, but I've added in a few items and removed stuff that isn't really needed for most users. The GApps are also packaged in, so only one package to flash to get everything you want.
NOTE: I only have a GT-P3113 to test out my ROM on. While this should work, it has the potential to not work. They will be labeled as Alpha until someone tests them and verifies that they work. I'd appreciate it if someone tried them out and reported any issues. Please include as much information as possible when reporting problems, such as screenshots, logcat information, etc.

Strange, I have a copy I got from there a couple of weeks ago. Now I'm wondering why it's been removed? I flashed it on mine after I downloaded it.... shows in about tablet as JOP40D.US_epad-10.06.1.14.4-20130329
Maybe (hopefully) they're getting ready to release an incremental update to fix some of the issues with the last release (broken permissions on the Bluetooth library equals non-working Bluetooth, seriously? Did *no one* bother to test this before release??).
That's what I'm assuming as well. After the numerous issues that arose after release, I can only assume they retracted it in order to fix it.

The funny thing is that it works for most people - and if you read the updater-script, there is no obvious reason why it could fail setting the correct permissions.
The release code was still there this morning..hope a fix comes soon. The Asus loader sure doesn't seem to like widgets. Crashed a lot with dual battery widget and the flip clock I use fails to update the battery status. Makes me think there is some bug with the battery status in this release.
Hello :- 1st post from newbie... :fingers-crossed:
Background :
Asus TF101 - c4/2012 - S/n starts with BC0K..... - with dock, working but reboots every 10 mins, lots of non-responsive apps, slow performance.
c120 apps installed - for whenever I need them. Frustrated by about c20 that run that I didn't start up - I don't need them until I need them....
Task killers kill some but some just restart... ...so decided to root and load Cyanogen for more control over apps, esp. permissions, and hopefully improved performance.
My skills : - newbie to Android dabbling, but used to minor registry tweaks and driver installs in Windoze, and programming many years ago in DOS, Basic, IPL2, and even Fortran (yes, really ). Never got into OO stuff....
Rooting and Flash so far :
Tried Chanxxxx's routine but couldn't get it to work.
Tried Asus unlock routine - doesn't work on TF101 any more.
Tried ViperMod but most image sites and mirrors are smoke and dust. 1 image found wouldn't unpack - corrupted.
Finally found PERI v0.42 which worked after many attempts in fixing adb drivers and out of date server problems.
(Only one site thread mentioned turning off Asus Synch on the PC and the tablet too...).
All very frustrating, esp. given the age of most of the threads and links - but I'm persistent, if nothing else..
... ...am I the last human bean on the planet who wants to root an old TF101?
So, now got :
Rooted OK
SuperUser OK
TWRP 2.5.0.0 under the hood - came wth PERI routine (thanks Thing o Doom).
Cyanogen 9.1
Loaded CWM ROM Manager but when I ran it it said I should stick with TWRP installed already (?) - so I did.
So I used TWRP to flash Cyanogen 9.1 and GAPPs.
Now running fine apparently - first day - still need to reload all apps...
Issues
Q1) - Since tried to use PERI to install TWRP 2.8.1.1. over current 2.5.0.0 - replaced the 2.5 recoveryblob with the 2.8 blob.
- renamed 2.8 blob, also tried changing batch file to suit other name - but all failed.
- pushes ok with push command, but dd to of mmcblk0p4 fails - permission denied.
Any thoughts please on why permissions have changed?
- I didn't include the md5 file from 2.8.1.1 - as 2.5 didn't have one anyway.
- what could have changed to stop me replacing mmcblk0p4 ?
- I did run TWRP 'Fix Permissions' - though not really sure what that does....
- is my approach too simplistic and other skullduggery required?
[- Didn't use TWRP 2.8.1.1 install that came with it as I don't know how to run it. Noticed that the script referred to Busybox which I don't have].
[ Have installed Android SDK but no idea what to do with it ...].
Q2 - Has anyone tried Cyanogen 10.x on a TF101 - I see there is one but it was a Nightly?
- if you did, is it stable?
- what would be the main benefits - presumably JB improvements?
Q3 - New Problem - MSD and SD slots both report 'Damaged SD Card' when you pop one in - and corrupt it. So when I put it back in my Windows PC card reader it is unreadable and needs reformatting. Does it with Micro slot on tablet and full sized slot on keyboard dock. Just tried brand new SD card and banjaxed that.
Both USB slots are fine and don't corrupt the USB flash drive.
Could it be :
- TWRP setting? - TWRP doesnt let me mount the ext SD Card - but probably because it sees it as corrupted?
- CyanogenMod 9.1 issue?
- Other something in the stack that can be fixed with an adb push or...?
Thanks
TF
Hi there !
The tf101 is an old device , and Asus have took down the download links for the factory files i believe now. I do have a copy of it on my tf101 sd card. Do you want me to upload it for you ? .
When all of these reboot problems and app crashes started , do you think anything specific caused it ? And has your device always been like it ? Also , why did you need to replace mmcblk0p4?
I personally think it is a kernel problem . All cm nightly buids are pretty stable in my opinion ! So there is nothing to worry about there. Be aware you will need to flash a new twrp build if your planning to install lollipop although lollipop is v e r y slow in my opinion.. So don't bother . Anyway i hope that this info has helped you , and if you could give more information i will be happy to help further. Please click like on this post ! It means alot

I have it already from the Asus site, thanks - but it doesn't work anymore. Asus have disabled the backend server bit that lets it continue to run the tweak on the TF101 apparently.

It just got progressively worse 2014-2015 until I abandoned it as unusable. Sometimes it would stay up for a few hours... ..but not often.
The PERI routine, as with some others, replaces it for some reason - is it a whole partition?

I thought CyanogenMod 10.x was JellyBean, no? - I believe from some thread I read somewhere that the TF101 can't go beyond that?
Cheers.

Hi there,
The factory images is not a "tweak" as you described it , and require no backend server to install(as far as I'm aware) because I have installed stock rom without internet before , which would not connect to any backend server you are describing .
Try using easyflasher instead of peri to do flash stuff to your device. I have never had problems with easyflasher in the past.
Type katkiss lollipop tf101. There is a lollipop build for the device , although I don't recommend it
If you are still unable to get things going, don't hesitate to send me a private message , or email me at [email protected] , and Il assist you with anything like installing the apx drivers for your device if you need the help !
---------- Post added at 12:50 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:47 AM ----------
Does stock rom work ok on the device ?
Do you have the stock kernel or modded kernel?
This will help isolate the issue between the device or the software.
Please hit thanks on anything in my profile that you think could be useful to you sometime ! It only takes a moment , and it means alot !

Kat kiss is running g decently on my eeepad once I have over cclocked to 1500 mhz. Still a little slow but not to bad for an older device. Also if you want to install the new twrp you can just grab the zip file and flash it in the twrp you already have and follow the instructions and it will be updated from 2.5 to 2.8
Edit: yeah never mind I see what your saying I just downgraded to katkiss 4.4.4 and it's running so much smoother

Good to know that your device is running well

Hi there,
The factory images is not a "tweak" as you described it , and require no backend server to install(as far as I'm aware) because I have installed stock rom without internet before , which would not connect to any backend server you are describing .

Ah- crossed porpoises - I meant the ability to run the boot unlocker tweak (not the KitKat ROM image) - unlocker still available but disabled at Asus server - which it has to reference to note your CPU #, according to posts on various forums...... - solved by Peri now.

Try using easyflasher instead of peri to do flash stuff to your device. I have never had problems with easyflasher in the past.

I'll try it next time I need to flash something from the PC, ta.

[/COLOR]Does stock rom work ok on the device ?
Do you have the stock kernel or modded kernel?
This will help isolate the issue between the device or the software.

I'm not planning to use a stock ROM - I wanted to try out Cyanogen - as may also get a phone with it on.
- so the kernel is whatever came in the CyanogenMod9.1 pack.

Thanks - I'll look at that later - once I'm sure it's all stable now on all fronts.
Hi everybody.
Master frami2 developed some test builds for P6210 and P6200 here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74384877&postcount=39
Need testing and reporting. I will do it ASAP and return some feedback. :good:
Thanks.
In the first flash it was very laggy, but after reflash it gone smoothy
I'm already testing in my tab 7 plus p6200
smooth and everything works fine
except
- Picture in recent apps type not showing
- Portable Wi-Fi hotspot not work
- Bluetooth not work
Thanks and Great Job!
Attempting LineageOS13 in 2020 - Can't find TWRP 3.0.2 P6210
I was looking to use this LineageOS build to breath some new life into my old GT-P6210. I can't seem to get a hold of a TWRP 3.0.2 P6210 tar. Does anybody have an alternate to Android File Host? Anything from Daniel_HK just keeps returning:
"OOPS! no mirrors found."
I tried it with CWM 6.0.4.5, but it hangs on:
deteced filesystem ext4 for /dev/block/platform/dw_mmc/by-name/FACTORYFS

It eventually times out and says:
ApplyParsedPersm: lsetfilecon of /system/lost+found to u: object_r:system_file:s0 failed: Operation not supported on trsnport endpoint set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed
E:Error in /storage/sdcard1/lineage - 13.0-20171024-UNOFFICIAL-p6210.zip

@galoneta and @Wachicamo it sounds like both of you had success with TWRP 3.0.2. Hopefully one of you still has a copy saved somewhere? Maybe on your SD card still?
I've been able to track down all the other required packages: lineage-13.0-20171024-UNOFFICIAL-p6210.zip, BETA-SuperSU-v2.52.zip and open_gapps-arm-6.0-pico-20171118.zip.
Hi.
My tab plus "died" some time ago! Sorry I do not have this files backup anymore! Maybe some other user ?
Good luck!

I was working on rooting and installing LinegeOS 13 in my 6210, and found some of the files in this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2538507
Keep in mind that I have google play not running so I may need to sideload that. Good luck.
