I have been using the stock weather widget ever since I got my Nexus S. It used to work great an update all on it's lonesome. But now it will not update. If I click on it and open the weather, it will show a different temperature than what it shows on the widget. Then when I hit back to go back to my home screen, it's updated with the new temperature. I've had it not update for more than three days even unless I manually open it.
I thought maybe it was LauncherPro+ with the resizing of the widget, but I removed it and added it back to the home screen at it's original size and I still have the same problem.
Did you ever figure this out? I'm having the same damn problem.
Same problem here, but mine is with the whole Genie Widget. News also is not updating or even showing at all sometimes.
Did anyone ever figure this out? It's still not updating for me. Seems like only when I'm on WiFi it doesn't update.

It hasn't been working for a while. The only way to get it to update is manually.
Check the background data and GPS,and it will work fine

I bought Sensation 2 days ago, and saw these strange lines over the Winamp widget. It was only in the space which was for the Winamp widget, and after I removed widget, the lines were gone.
That happened twice, and the similar lines appeared on the "show me" widget, which was "factory installed", so the problem is not Winamp probably.
Should I return the phone now, or wait to see will this become permanent?

Can you force this to be happening? I dont believe they'd take the phone back unless you can prove the fault...
Anyway, I'd give it a go and see what happens, if it gets any worse, you can always request warranty repair, for as long as the phone aint rooted etc.
EDIT: Looked at the pic you posted again, it doesnt seem to be HW fault, its more likely an SW issue... well, obviously 2.3 aint ready for this resolution, I hope devs reacts soon so this can get fixed
If it was the Winamp widget only, that'd be the problem, as I'd say it wasn't set up for qHD, or configured correctly etc
Move either of the widgets that have the issue to another part of the screen, then another homescreen. Just don't keep it in that physical rectangle area of the screen.
I dont know how to force that error again. I would like that it was a software, its easier to fix, I think.
When I was moving the Winamp widget, those lines were moving with the widget.
Same issue here, mostly comming up on the google search widget and the getting started button, restarting the theme solves this for a while.

If it moves with the widget, it's likely to be a software issue
This happens with a lot of widgets which cannot stretch or scale properly to the qHD screen.
The fact that the lines move around with the widget and then disappear when the widget is removed clarifies this.
Obviously one of HTC's own widgets is unable to cope too.
Might also be related to Sense 3.0. Have you tried the same widgets with a different launcher?
I havent try with the different launcher, because I cant force those lines to appear again. It only happened twice. Winamp widget works perfectly for now.
I have the same issue, with AudioGuru's widget. When i removed the widget the lines are gone!!!!

Clearly, this + the lads arround, this is a SW issue only, not optimised widget for such a big difference... more the qHD displays will be on sale, the faster we get updates... Also, maybe Google will release some update on Android 2.3.5 maybe that might fix most of the problems with the screen
I have to agree with the Software camp on this (though initially I thought for sure it was hardware)
When I look closely at the pic you have the lines start inside of the screen and end inside of the screen with a border of clean pixels before the edge of the screen. (Line is framed inside of screen) If the line went all the way across I would be still be thinking hardware.
If the problem is that the software is not optimized with qHD, then I guess I have nothing to worry about.
Thank you all for your answers.
U was shocked to see my screen is damaged but when i swiped to another page, gone. Tried moving the widget and the lines move too. So yes, its the widgets. On mine, its tweetdeck bar

this happened to me with the amazon mp3 widget, and i had 2 other widgets on the same page. it went away and never came back. that's the only "issue" i've had with this phone.
same thing happened to me with blue facebook app. i restarted phone, hasn't come back since.
Yep I've had the same issues, figured it was software issue due to the way it was working.
I did soft reset that clears it for while anyways.
Same problem here.
A way to fix them all without any reset or removing the widgets is to go into your app settings and restart the Sense app.
It will restart rosie and fixes all the widgets with lines.
Very annoying tho

Exactly!
Here is the video, how the line (this time only one line) is moving with the widget.
This one appeared after I played few 3D games.

So strange issue - the Facebook widget has a real hard time updating if at all. It may update every 24 hours sometimes it takes longer and sometimes not at all. I finally decided to uninstall Facebook and reinstall it. The app itself works perfectly including for now push notifications BUT the widget just won't work.
Just reinstalling it, the widget is blank and just says "Refreshing statuses"
What's odd is the widget and my account work perfectly on my G2X side by side so wouldn't that rule out a Facebook issue? I think it has something to do with Sense interfering with this. Anybody having a similar issue?
Bump. So is it just me?

I tried the widget once & it took forever its first time to load up
I did a quick search and didn't seem to find anything for 'crash'.
I've had my phone since the July 5th release date in Canada and since then it's probably crashed 6-7 times.
I can never tell what's crashing it (each time felt different).
once i specifically started noting what crashed it, one was in the middle of writing an email in the Gmail app when I hit backspace. Surely the Gmail app that came loaded with the phone isn't crashing it?
Another time I was just exiting an app via the back button and the screen turned black.
The other few times I don't recall.
Is anyone else experincing this? Is there any type of debugger or crash log for the phone? If no one else is experiencing this, it stands to reason one or two of my apps are crashing the thing.
I've got the Bell Sensation, too, and I'd have to say it's crashed about the same amount of times. Each time, I send the report to HTC. The app is called "Tell HTC", it comes up automatically in the notification bar.
One time it was the camera app that I was in when it restarted, another time I was viewing the calendar app. It's a phone that's only a few weeks old. Hopefully after the first OTA or two, the phone will be less buggy.
I came from a Motorola Atrix, and even after the updates, it would still periodically restart/crash. Boo.
This doesn't really help you, but just wanted to let you know it's not just your phone!
My phone has only the camera & screen issue, when battery is to low and I am capturing my sensation restarts. also sometimes I have some lines on screen. but my phone never crashed yet, I have it since 25 June...
Seems like it's mostly the T-Mobile and Bell variants that have the most issues.
Solved! It looks like the culprit was the Smooth Calendar widget...

I've had a really bizarre problem that started a couple of days ago. At that time I was rooted on the stock ICS. The first thing I noticed was that the keyboards would stop working. They'd come up, but no matter where I tried using it - GMail, Dolphin, Talk, etc - no text would be entered. The kayboard keys would flash and the autocorrect fields would populate as if I was typing normally though. This happened with both the latest Swype beta and the stock touch input. The only fix was a reboot which would help for a little while.
The other issue was the clocks not syncing up. The clock widget on my homescreen would show the current correct time, but the clock in the notification bar would be stuck on any given time for up to hours.
Here's the weird part. These issues survived a data and cache wipe and the install of a different rom. I'm now using ViperS 1.6.0. Could this possibly be a hardware problem? Nothing unusual happened between it working fine and the problem starting. No new apps, no water exposure or drops, etc... The closest thing to a cause I can think of is that some app that I had and reinstalled today was updated a couple of days ago and the new version is doing it...
Any other ideas?
