The equipments with AMD Radeon and chipsets Intel will be able to benefit from acceleration for OpenGL's hardware. The system simulates a card SDCard by means of internal storage and the external devices USB and SDCard is mounted in an automatic way on having been connected in the route/mnt/USB. Also it offers support for ISO hybrid images. Android-x86 4.0 RC1 he has an assistant of installation in way text and supports the systems of files ext2, ext3, ntfs and fat32. So you want someone to help you turn what is essentially a brick into a product so you can then turn around and sell it to them?
Damn this guy is clueless, dude android is not a cab that you can simply install on any wince device lol, it requires a lot work, for example someone would have to make a linux kernel for it, then drivers, after that make sure all these drivers work in userland android, not to mention your going to run into a LOT of problems and issues along the way, anyways like i said android IS NOT A CAB, so i would recommend selling all does "tablets" and buying there already loaded android counterpart.
Rafyvitto
Im not clueless i just got the idea about it being quite simple from reading another thread on here about install android onto the 7inch version of this APad and changing the roms on them, all i basically want todo is to put the same google android that the Apad 7 uses onto my Apad10 because they are basically the same except for the 10" screen.
It's not possible; not with your skill level at least. Return it and ask for an Android version.
Does the asus transformer support using an external dvd drive? I tried connecting my external dvd drive to my transformer to watch a movie on disc but not sure where to go or what to do next.
Dead topic revival, but wanted to give the OP some information.
The asus transformer does not support dvd drives out of the box. Two things need to occur before we can watch dvd's on our transformers. The first is a custom kernel with drivers for external dvd drives and the correct file system support (this may actually already be built-in, but I haven't tested to find out). The second is a method to decrypt css on dvds.
Linux has a library that can do this written in either c or c++. In theory this can be ported to the Android eco system. There are existing questions about the legality of the library commonly used on linux for this decryption. In some countries it is definitely legal, in others, the courts have not tested its legality. I would also be willing to bet that a few companies (like the one behind powerDVD) will create dvd software with completely legal decryption in the hopes that Android users with 3.1+ will buy their software for dvd playback.
It is very possible that we will be able to get dvd playback at some point, but it probably won't happen for at least another few months. Best bet for now is probably linux (either chroot if that has access to usb, or dual boot).
External BluRay would be great
Device recognised, no filesystem mounted
If anyone (like me) found this topic by searching the web: My LG DVD drive is recognised on my Transformer. I can see it listed as Usbdisk1 under Storage in Settings. Mounting doesn't work however, so I suppose the biggest issue here is the filesystem (either CDFS or UDF). The drives LED flashes a few times when I try to mount it.
I copied my DVD movies to an external hard drive, connected the drive to the Transformer through the USB port on the keyboard dock and it worked perfectly without a problem.

I have downloaded a Windows CE emulator and have ground my way up the learning curve. (I am a Mac person!)
I have managed to install and run MioPocket and ceFFM, in the emulator and on the actual unit, but after reading some negative comments I am reluctant to continue with MioPocket on the unit.
The navigation software is NavNGo Igo8 and I am happy with that. I only made one alteration, to get it to switch to map view at start up.
The in dash unit works well in the modes I have played with. The radio is good in country NSW (Australia). The CD/DVD player works. The bluetooth syncs with my Samsung Android phone and I have loaded the unit with my address book.
My only complaint is the in the iPod interface.
It connects to the iPod well and the interface allows you to select by Genre/Track/Artist etc. The only problem is that the pop-up screen listing the Tracks/Playlist does not stay on screen for long enough.
I have found the software that runs the iPod .... called iPod.exe.
I can not find any way of changing the settings.
Has anyone got any ideas?
Windows CE Emulator
I used an emulator to get on the learning curve with WIN CE.
It is at google code.
Here is the address. Being a nooby I can not directly quote the address.
Roadrover
Reverse engineering of RoadRover software and new tool creation
URL: code dot google dot com / p / roadrover
The emulator comes in two versions. One with a fake GPS unit interface with non-functioning buttons (skin). The other is plain cooking variety Windows CE. In English too. Unlike the Russian ones floating around.
Does anyone have one of these ?

I have a chromecast... I wonder if this will supply all of the chrome cast functionality plus access to all of the other android apps... $129 is nearly 4 Chromecasts for one of these. Well there now exists an android stick with trusted support behind it.
Not that the other providers didn't provide support, dell is a large company with lits of resources.

The dell marketing seems to be focused on the work environment, and this need to connect a mouse and keyboard.
But yeah, I'd like to know too if it does what Chromecast does. Can I watch movies and cast from my smartphone? Can I mirror display?
I have purchased one of these and using it for entertainment and work. You have to create a Dell Client Connect Manager starter account and setup users there first with rights. Right now I have XBMC running on it plus netflix, hulu, citrix receiver for work and few other apps. Google play store showed apps to be not compatible with this device so I installed 1market store where I can download the same apps as the Play Store.

You can probably use Cheapcast (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=at.maui.cheapcast) in order to achieve what you need it to.
I have it too, with netflix the video sometimes pauses, the subtitles go out of sync and never catch up. It comes with Android 4.1.2 and the apps on play store are very limited, you can install more with 1market but some of them will not work.
Also the mouse and actions have some lag, it is not as responsive as my nexus 5 or 7, when you type sometimes it take almost a second to show the letter you typed.
I'm still looking for a way to change the resolution in my [email protected] monitor it doesnt look as windows, it's a little blur.

Mine shows only 2.9GB storage, there are 8GB advertised, how many GB has yours?
Has anyone had any luck seeing if there Is a way to get around the first setup so I can use it as a normal android Stick without a Cloud Connect Manager account?
For those that have used the Manager account to get a User set up. Does it become useless after the trial is up or is it not needed once an account is made?

Hi,
yes, I just installed another launcher via adb, thats all. google-apps (play) are already installed.
And it looks like you can uninstall the cloud connection manager via settings as well. I did not try it yet.

Dell Cloud Connect (HDMI Android) in Hotels
I have a Dell Cloud Connect, which I was hoping would work (as Dell proclaims it will) as a smallportable device to put my work desktop (via RDP) onto the TV in my hotel room - a potentially extremely attractive feature for those of us who travel a lot.
The first hotel I stayed in (San Jose, CA) had a TV with the requisite HDMI ports. I tried it in both but there seemed to be so much installed with the hotel entertainment systems (OnCmmunications and LodgeNet) that the option to choose the Input was unavailable (or had been made deliberately unavailable); I was not able to change the Input. Has anyone else found this? (One word of warning: I am no TV expert so it is possible I was being dumb.)
On return home the Dongle plugged straight into a projector and an HDMI-equipped Monitor with minimal problems. On the monitor and projector all looks a good except for the hassle of Cloud Connect.
In answer to the question above about whether you have to use the paid CloudConnect, Dell has told me "We do have a Starter version that is available. However only the 14-day pilot (pro) edition is what we send out for piloting purposes. We can however convert your pro edition to starter upon completion of the pilot." I believe the Starter Version is free and supports up to something like 15 or 25 devices.
I just got one of these. I've never owned an Android device before. I was considering rooting it. Does anyone have any advice in that regard?
Dell cs-1a13
2016 Thread Resurrection
It is not necessary to signup for Cloud Client Manager(CCM) to configure device if you select skip button during setup. However signing up for CCM does get you a newer build from Dell. My setup has a resolution issue that make all control you usually see on Android not visible. Which make setup a bit tricky. This issue will continue until resolution is setup correctly. To skip CCM setup move mouse to the bottom of the screen to select skip button that may not be visible. You can address resolution issue by opening the Application drawer, hidden in the top right due to resolution issue. Once the appdrawer is open Select AppUpdater to get all stock applications updated. After update device should now have an application named "ResizeScreen" which should address resolution issue. Not sure if this application only appears in new build downloaded as I did not find the application drawer until after I updated build from Dell.
Ensure to enable "Test Touchscreen support" in Developer options in setting to unblock applications you download that are blocked due to dependency on this setting. I was able to gain root with KingoRoot tethered root method, APK method failed. The KingoRoot SuperSU installed forces portrait resolution on all root privilege request, not good for a TV setup. Supersu I downloaded from Google Appstore works right but it seems KingoRoot SuperSu supersedes it. Devices is a little under powered compared to current Android devices, but It may still make a nice little HTPC. CPU is the same as a Samsung GS2. I am trying to figure out how to get recovery working on this device. I am wondering if I can just flash the same recovery as GS2 or will I need to compile recovery specific to this device? Hi
I have an USB Flash Drive Duo and i want to use it with an FM Transmitter in my car but that FM Transmitter doesn't recognize my flash drive .
I tried different formatting options (FAT32 / exFAT / NTFS in combination with different allocation unit sizes) but it still doesn't work. Could it be just because my flash drive has support for Android devices? (In fact i think that should be even more helpful for small devices like this...) Or does anyone knows how can i make it to work ?
How big is the flashdrive? Some devices can't read anything over 2GB. (My old mediaplayer used to do that.)
