[Q] Desire HD ROM, enable H+?

I'm running MDJ's ViVO Sense v.2.6 ROM, and it is obviously made for the Desire HD. I know that the H+ in the notification bar only appears on Inspire ROMs, and I would like to get that in this ROM.
Also, I did a few speed tests, and I'm getting REALLY low speeds. D/L and U/L are all under 1mb/s, when on Inspire ROM's they are over 1MB/s. Any fixes for this?

Um you can't add the H+ bro. The H+ is cosmetics only as of now. H+ on the Inspire means its fooling u. I flashed the stock ruu and saw this H+ and said I had it. Yet I was hitting same speeds as I was on hsupa. If u want the H+, flash attn1's stock and rooted Inspire rom. Its quite nice

The difference between H and H+ is purely cosmetic. Most custom ROMs only have the H icon.
In some markets, most custom ROMs run slow. Check out id10terrordfw's thread for the speed fix, or alternatively my APN thread listed in my sig.
No disrespect intended but try using search next time, these issues have been discussed ad nauseum.

Idk about what others say. But I was always told H and H+ is the same thing. Ive done reach 5mb down n higher on just H.

To settle this dispute, HSPA+ = HSDPA/HSUPA (its the same thing there is no difference). If you want to get the H+ on a desire hd rom pull the rosie apk it will not be themed from an inspire rom and push it to a desire rom. If that doesn't work then you will have to edit the frame work from a desire hd roms rosie.apk and pull the images from the inspire rosie.apk.

-test version right now 2 is the first one, but when more come this will be important and just call them by there name (might even give them funny pepper names too depending on how saucy i feel)
-if your using FR or not and your settings for it
-exactly how to cause the problem and or what is FCing

i was hesitant on posting it because i didn't think people were going to take me seriously esp after the whole kifno gingersense fluke. but man people flocked to that thread, i was also happy to see more development going on instead of just CM7 for everything and i thank everyone who has helped along the way whether a noob or, nifiniteFX or il duce or idogxx

about an hour into running this rom I started to sign into various accounts and then I got this ... I didnt get to run fix permissions yet

im uploading a new test build with the apn fix tazz posted yesterday he was pretty sure that was the key, i downloaded his rom and compared the changes its uploading now, i also will be uploading a format all zip that i have been using for a while now

i thought it was 691 and capped, either way my phone cant handle higher than 691 thats why i use that one

Yeah its 691mhz, the kernel number is 589 lol. Deca numbered all his releases remember?

There were something around 30 releases IIRC. My fave was #43 uncapped.
EDIT: Hey in your OP you say GPS doesn't work, it works (haven't flashed salsa 3 yet) but the nav app itself fails on 3D, just fyi.

Kyle, I was using the #589 uncapped and it worked well. The problem would be for those phones that can't handle more than 691.
I was having some issues with mild salsa 2. I did a logcat for a problem app that won't open for some reason ( it's a skeeball game), but I realized that it was the mild salsa-jm. #2 froze up on me a couple. Well give #3 a whirl.

My guess is the app has 3D textures.

hey kyle,, here is another fix for u to try for gps,,,,, if fixed navagation screwing up for me and now i can dl maps from the market and no issue
place this file http://www.multiupload.com/7MVUEW99QM in libs folder
then replace
libdvm.so
libnativehelper.so
with the same from a working hero rom ,,, hope this helps ,, it did for me

Need Some Testers [Team Inferno]

Hey guys, i live over in the Mytouch 4g forums, and i am part of Team Inferno. I am a Rom/Kernel/Modding dev on Team Inferno and we want to branch out and support other devices. My mod can support all HTC devices but i need testers to...test it haha. My mod adds governors without modifying the kernel. I currently have support for all sense versions, ICS AOSP and AOKP in Desire HD, Inspire 4g, and the Mytouch 4g. Its flashed on top of any sense, Aosp or Aokp rom. No kernel is included in the package nor is a special kernel needed for the mod to run.
Edit: Just saw the second half of the post, great! Just tester or head tester?
Tester=tests
Head Tester= A bit more, all other testers report to him/her and he/she reports to me. In turn, i give them information that they disperse.

I will look at the thread you posted here before too much longer. Are you looking to just see if this allows under clocking and over clocking when installed? Also it would probably be best to test this on stock kernels and not custom kernels to make sure it works as you want it to, you know without changes in the kernel. Most custom kernels have the clocking already in them so they may give false positive results.

This rewrites the custom kernel's OC. And includes my own OC settings which tend to give amazing battery life coupled with a couple scripts What i want people to test is
1. Will it actually flash
2. Is performance faster
3. Is battery life better

Ok that sounds cool to me, it actually will work out good for me as the ROM I am testing right now has had some pretty bad battery performance. Give me a little while and I will see if the file will flash for me via 4EXT Recovery. I am flashing the new test version of the ROM I am testing so I will have to do the set up and run some test before I can try to flash this.

Edit: I realized that I must have tried to flash the non-Sense version, the MADness v1.2.zip. I let my battery recharge to 100% again and I tried flashing the other INDIAN MADNESS.zip and it flashed. It did flash successfully and I will post a screen shot of my battery usage graph tomorrow sometime when I get to 20% to 10% battery level. And just so you know I am using RMS DX4 1.0.1 wich is Android 4.0.4 and Scense 4.0.

Ok, everyone, get an AOKP or Sense 4.0 rom. Then flash THIS. If you already flashed INDIAN MADNESS, test away! I suggest you subscribe to this thread because ill post new stuff here.
Instructions
1.Charge to 100%
2.Remove any OC apps, my mod has you covered
3.clear dalvik
4.clear bat stats
5. Flash
6. Fix permissions
7. Reboot and report back to me with some screenshots of the battery page!

BTW, the above post was version 2.1 so its MUCH more advanced

IF This isn't enough to hold us off 'till unlock I don't know what is!

Slowly but surely we r getting some serious upgrades without s-off or bootloader unlocked. Custom Roms are out now that dont use recovery. I'm scoring 5400 on Quadrant 2nd run with my Overclocked 1.8ghz De bloated, ultra fast rosie, de-odexed, zip aligned, advanced power menu, Free Tether havin themed HOX..This is for sure enough to hold us over till we get a real unlock!! Devs just started doing it like this...
It's only going to get better! Everyone wanting to return their phones because we aren't unlocked yet should think twice! What more do you want in the 3rd week after launch? Most of these new tweaks and roms have come out today. Wait till the end of the week and see how much better this is gonna be..

The devs are certainly doing a great job considering the state of the bootloader.
I'd like to see a CPU spy report of the OC module to see if it's utilizing other clock speeds effectively.

What about a Passmark Performance test? Those seem to be very thorough in their tests.
On my stock HOX I was getting somewhere around 2200-2300.

So, you get this beasty phone that beats all benchmarks, yet you can't do much on it, because everything is being FC...how ironic is that?

I personally havent had any negative effect of the multitasking issues if that is what you are referring to. If you are saying apps are FCing as in having errors, havent had any problems with that either. So what are you talking about? So far i can do everything i want to do, everything i was doing on my sensation which was OC'd to 1.7. it felt like a 5 year old device compared to this one. If it isnt working for you, return it. Its doing fine for me. Best phone i've ever used. The multitasking issue will get fixed. The International version is already significantly better with their first update. I stream music daily in my car and have never had the service stop. i also use minfree and v6superscript which both help the mt woes.

I tried messing around with Minfreemanager, but it ended up making my phone lock-up on a fairly regular basis, presumably because it couldn't get the free RAM it needed. Am I the only one having that problem? Are you on 1.82?

Yeah, I'm on 1.82. I've used both the mild and default presets with no issues. Multitasking is working a lot better now to point where it's not really bothersome at all.

I'm new here, I'm not trying to be snarky, I'm just seriously struggling with "multitasking woes" personally and there are so many saying that it "doesn't bother them," I'm trying to figure out if it's something that I'm doing wrong or they're doing right or what.

Welcome to XDA! I did have issues before running minfree. I could start a text message, exit with the home button, re-enter the app, and it would start over. Running minfree has resolved this issue. I'm not a big gamer on mobile, but I did test the before and after with Angry Birds Space. Before, it would completely refresh when exiting the app and re-entering, but now I can open several apps before it completely refreshes. It's not perfect, but has made it very tolerable. Also, I have either disabled or removed any of the AT&T or HTC bloat.

I know this isn't the place for this question, but : I know changing bootloaders (if it were unlocked) means you won't get updates from AT&T, but does rooting have the same side effect? Or can you still receive OTA updates from AT&T after rooting?

That I'm not sure about, but you can run the 1.82 RUU again which will remove root and the tampered flag in the bootloader.

With being overclocked to 1.8, how is your battery life?

How's everyone like the new Rom? I don't suggest it at the moment.. Its just a preview and this is just the most stable one out of them all.. Trust me O_O Basically only 1 thing is changed from JustWorksTechnology is the sense 4 clock but I already have many other stuff working on it.. This is just a "preview" for now.. Sorry for quad posting but an update will be released soon with new widgets.. This isn't really taking the Rom out of preview, it's just giving it a small update. Also there will be more Sense skins.. By far this is one of the best Sense Roms with signal..

Can I port this amazing Rom to the EVO LTE?
And what do you mean by this is the best sense 2.1 Rom with signal? NewSENSE, mikG, S.S. don't have signal anymore?

No see I try a lot of Sense Roms and they always go into roaming so I just tried this one and it has to be the best with staying out of roaming. It will go into it here and there at points but it has to be ONE of the best with that.. Im not saying it is the best.. Thanks and yes you can port it..

I think that signal is more dependent of physical attributes rather than software or ROM. I appreciate your work man. I see your actively contributing the community, and I don't post much but thanks for your work. I usually get ignored after my posts, but I would like to say that in the ROMs Drob mentioned, there is an option in the tweaks to set the phone to Sprint only under roaming. It prevents the phone from going into roam. There's also the option for Roam only. Just thought I would share that since you are having roaming issues. Also latest PRL updates help. Can't wait to try this ROM out when you get a final release. Looking for a new daily ROM.

Thanks for liking my Rom, I've noticed that stock android, when you roam you can still make calls but, on sense you can't and could you send me that method? Thanks!! Also my PRL has been updated, I have no upgrades on towers in my area for next 6 months sadly.. Where I used to live, they have 32 upgrades or something like that. Kinda made me mad but o well I enjoy my evo shift Thanks again!

It doesn't roam because HTC and sprint don't want you to know you are roaming. Adding the1x icon is mod we add to let us know our real signal strength...

I searched it on google and couldn't find it, is it something inside the Rom that could messed around with?

It just uses a 1x icon that switches when you drop out of 3G to edge data network like cm7/cm9 roms have. I thought data had nothing to do with cellular reception but IDK. Kind of like how you can activate a phone with no data plan?

You did to edit a file in the systemui.apk to show the 1x/3g indicator. You then decompile the classes.dex file and search for something called htccdmastatusbar.smali file. You change a line or two from 3g_cdma to 1x, then recompile and pack it back up and push the apk back to the phone...I guess you could also insert it into a new rom then flash.

I don't know anymore, my head is being poked with a stick by android.. I'm tired of listening to android.. (not freaking on anyone) I've got to take a break for quiet a while because I haven't been hanging with my family a lot lately and that's pathetic and stupid of me.. I'll check in every 2 hours or so but I got to "chill" with this android stuff. I don't wont to loose my loved ones Btw this is based off of JustWorksTechnology's Rom read first lines of my OP.. Thanks and preview2 will be uploaded probably tomorrow It does have a mytouch widget and some more themes

You don't know what kernels are in your sense roms? I understand completely about taking a break, but please take into account that kernels are GPL and must remain open source with a public link on the threads if your using a custom kernel. If your using a stock kernel like cm7 or whatever it may be you don't have to provide anything because they have their own github repo's. Thanks for your work for android and I must also take a break for awhile.

There are plenty of good kernels you can try if the devs let you add them to your roms. Strapped and x99percent are two that I know of that have their kernel sources in order and public.

Thanks lol uploading preview 2 right now but I don't think anyone cares for a dev like me O well.. For those that do appreciate me I'll just dev for them :| I've seen sense Roms open and get more comments and support then rather me and probably more other devs. I have a friend that has the same issue but I'll just upload and dev later..
