I have S-OFF, I'm coming from a Samsung Galaxy SII so I'm not quite sure what to do with it but I know its a big deal on HTC devices. I know quite a bit about ADB and some Fastboot commands and I'm willing to help the community out in any way that I can.
For starters, My phone is USA T-Mobile phone.. not sure if there is a drastic difference between models or not. Hopefully if this is important we can do something with it and jump start HTC One S development.
Also just a general question.. can I root my US model with the rooting procedures in the development section?
I have extracted the hboot file and posted it here

You appear to be the first person with the U.S. T-Mobile model. I'm curious if you could confirm the 3G bands? There seems to be conflicting details with some FCC documents suggesting 850, 1700, 1900 and 2100 while other documentation does not mention any of the ATT bands. The former would suggest specs being defined in preparation for the merger and would certainly make sense. Any insight is appreciated.
How'd you get a USA T-Mobile model? It only says HTC on the phone, T-Mobile is usually pretty adamant about getting their name up there. Unless you have a testing model or something, in which case you could really do a LOT to help us out with development.
Check out Paul's thread on rooting your One S:

Good luck! I'm jealous!
How would I go about checking that? On the GS2 it was *#2263# in the dialer but on this phone it says invalid mmi code.

This is good stuff here.
I like the direction this going to
but just to make sure: did you turn S-OFF yourself or did you get your test device with S-OFF?

ummmm you're not even in America. So why would you have a T-Mo Sensation 4G anyway? Maybe this is Troll bait.
No one cares anymore. It's easy to fake this statement.
I have Sensation 4G T-Mobile, I did revolutionary's S-OFF, then installed the RUU to stock T-Mobile, and it went back to look like a normal Bootloader with S-OFF still in place.
So I repeat, no one cares.

Hey guys. I have a hboot 2.xx and htcdev unlock with s-on. So I wanted to s-off to flash a new radio. But I have to downgrade.
The guide tells me that if my phone is unbranded, then I wouldn't have to make a goldcard. And they said that the phone is branded if you see the provider logo at bootscreen. I did have vodafone at bootscreen but I flashed fallout. So does that give me unbranded? I have a vodafone desire s from the netherlands

Your phone is still 'branded' I think. (Flashing a custom rom doesn't 'unbrand' it physically as such...)
Best test is get into FASTBOOT USB, and type in cmd:
Code:
fastboot getvar all
Let's see what it returns. Pay attention to the CID and Misc_version bit.
And why do you want to flash radio? It doesn't *really* give you much performance improvement in real life + gives you risk of (unrecoverable) hard brick if things go wrong. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
If you just want to 'debrand' fully I think you need to edit the CID.
It's still usually safe to make a goldcard anyway, in case you get into trouble (it doesn't hurt to use a old 2GB card that just lying round gathering dust.)
i prefer unbranded, but i dnt think it really matter when ur custom ROM'd up
Hey guys,
I'm wanting to revert my One S to stock but for some reason I can't find a 1.84 Rogers RUU, only 1.7 and that one isn't working. Does anyone out there have one?

HTC one s is not available from Rogers but is available from Fido which is owned by rogers. Rogers RUU works on Fido HTC one s. But I have also updated my Fido HTC one s to 1.84 so the 1.7 RUU doesn't work anymore ( it worked before i updated my phone). Anyone has 1.84 RUU for Rogers?
I also need the 1.84 RUU PLEASEEEEEE

If it's not in the shipped rom thread then it most likely doesn't exist online. You gotta remember that RUU's aren't released publicly. They are leaked from the company.
If you could either change your CID and use a newer RUU or downgrade your hboot and flash the rogers 1.7 one.
Football, who started the DEV thread at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1543588 may be able to help out.
If the RUU isnt in the file factory list on his post, he may still be able to get it for how, however you many need to work something out with him to obtain.
He has been most helpful in finding me some Bell mobility RUUs which may now get posted to the file factory link too after I worked out an arrangement with him.
If he can help be sure to thank him too!
Cheers,
AKToronto
So I'm with FIDO and had the same issue. I only have a 1.7 RUU. I got it to work by using the HBOOT downgrade method. I answered in this thread :

Fourth post down.
:good:
Still haven't found the RUU... I actually emailed HTC and they said Rogers should give it to me if I ask. So I may try that, if that doesn't work, Football said he has the 1.84 RUU that I could buy from him.

I too am in need of a rogers RUU, having bricked by htc one s using the 1.7 RUU. Will the 1.84 RUU work on a phone that has rec'd the JB update?
I did try the bell one, but got a carrier ID error. Anyway around that to make it flash to a Bell device?
I need that,too

I cannot flash my language to phone after service exchanged motherboard, because that ROM is GDR2 (older), that means bootloader stops me everytime.

Hi,
I have an European Carrier specific HTC 8X and would like to unbrand this device
Two questions:
- Is the official ROM HTC_Europe_2.00.401.03 still available anywhere (this WinPhoneViet site seems not to have this file anymore)
- Will this unbranding process work with bootloader 175731?
Thanks for your answers
