I am trying to get into developing kernels and want to start with the Xoom. Are any devs here willing to donate some time to help get me started? I learn best with hands on and peer collaboration rather then reading. If anyone would be willing to help it would be appreciated. PM me if you need any additional information. Thanks

Hello,
I am somewhat new to xda forums and Im glad to be here.
I wanted to ask for some help regarding developing android applications and programs, as I am somewhat lost in the beginning stages of the process. I havent successfully downloaded the correct programs in order to begin so I guess if someone could help in that regard. However more importantly I would like to know if there is anyone who would be willing to be my official dev. trainer/tutor to teach me the basics so that I can actually have a chance at developing something.
I know ive seen a no noobs section so I know pros must be looking at my post like "just another noob". But I am really interested in learning and I would appreciate someones help and guidance. Thanks and I hope someone decides to help.
First of all, no one will dedicate his time to teach you. some have work/school and other important stuff to do other than teaching you.. But im sure they can offer you a minute to post here the things you need to read and answer the problems you have..
maybe the first thing to do is to list down what have you already accomplished, like what you already read about programming, about android programming and such stuff..
so that people can point you to your next step. at this point it seems that you are totally lost and dont know here to begin, and so the pros who wants to help you..
goodluck and dont lose hope..
Hey Ladies and Gents,
I'm looking to start developing roms for the PC36100, but I need a little bit of help setting up my kitchen on my Mac. I was wondering if there'd be anyone who'd be willing to devote just a little bit of their knowledge and time to help out a fellow android enthusiast. I've been looking in just about every instructions webpage on how to do all this and none of them are just a simple thorough list of instructions... and terminal is kickin my butt over here!
Any help is appreciated!!
Thank you,
Creeping_death
thanks for all the views...now can anyone give a hand?
So I just starting working on AOSP 4.0.3 ROM that is posted in a different thread here and I am trying to add some customization to it but having a small problem. Should be fairly easy but I am not sure what I am doing wrong and was wondering if any of the advanced devs wouldn't mind helping me out for a minute
Private message me if you are willing to assist me and thanks in advance
you should use PM for this type of thing ...?
He's trying to. That being said... I'll close the thread for now. If any devs see this, please PM the guy.
I'm trying to find someone to work on an existing mod to port it to my particular phone. I've had no response to speak of in the sub-forum. And a guy who modded if for his phone wants to help but is probably just really busy.
So how does one find a developer for this sort of thing; someone with both the skill and the time?
just ask him the way or tutorial may be he will help you.or pm the developers who moded and intrested..
Maybe try offer them something in exchange for their help. It not need to be cash, but maybe you have some skills, that you can offer them.
Over the last few weeks we have been working feverishly at trying to make the switch from lollipop to Marshmallow. In addition, we have been trying to switch source from CM to Aosp. This has been a daunting task. We are working with a limited staff and are finding it to be a bit overwhelming. So why am I telling you this? Well frankly we have seen some great community builds of non supported devices being posted from all over the world. There are some talented folks porting our rom. Perhaps some of those folks may be willing to use their talents to help our cause? In the forums, we have seen some talented helpful users contributing to make OctOs better. Must be able and willing to develop and build for any/all devices we support. Don't worry about not having the device, we have plenty of awesome testers that will attempt to break whatever you throw at them lol. Also you must have your own build environment and stable internet. Serious inquiries only and please email us at [email protected]
