My vote go to LG optimus 2x . Fills all your requirements

Don't get that phone too many problems. Get the galaxy nexus if on contract or wait for the new evo/htc one X or galaxy s3
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk

I recommend the Asus Padfone, greatest versatility of any mobile device, with massive battery power and a Krait S4 core. LTE version coming later this year.

Get Samsung galaxy s 15

Get the Nexus S, pretty hackable.

you can get a nexus one off contract for $299
on contract, you can get anything
generally nexus' are more supported by the community

I'd say the new Nexus or RAZR MAXX. Both current top of the line and hackable.
The push for the MAXX is obviously the ridiculous battery life. How awesome can your phone really be if you only get 6 hours of battery life when it's finally able to do everything you want at the speed you want?

galaxy note! i love the big screen and i'm in the process of customizing it like crazy.

LG Optimus One is very cheap and perfect for overclocking (If you are into modding your phone). Without the mods and overclock the device might be a bit laggy compared to high end devices but it is still good. The phone is about 2 years old now so it is very cheap today.

Why, what kind of problem I have it, and no problem

htc Desire S is a very reliable phone.

Another vote for the nexus line.

What ever you do, just don't go to verizon.
Why you ask, video will tell all: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDxJoGv3FLA&feature=channel

You should get the samsung inspire 4g it got some new no scraches or nuthin.. intrestd

Both the galaxy nexus and sgs II will stay active for a very long time but hack friendly would be galaxy nexus, can be unlock by just using 1 fastboot command and you can also lock it back as easily. Will also get OTA updates of new android version very quickly. It will most likely be my next phone, only 1 problem it does not have a sdcard slot and only 16 gb of internal space for everything..

nexus is good....

hi,as the title says which phone should i get next ?,i already have a sony ericsson xperia neo and was thinking about galaxy nexus and galaxy note !,should i wait for the new note maybe ? or the new nexus ? or go for one of them ?,thanks
If you need one now buy the note, if you can wait if say wait some interesting things due out within the next 4 to 5 months, iPhone 5, windows 8 phones, new Nexus, maybe new Note, new HTC note type device maybe, new Sony phones and such. Should be an interesting 4th quarter for new releases in time for the holidays.

iam afraid i have a limited budget and these devices gonna be somehow expensive for me,isn't the pure experience on the galaxy nexus better than the note ? i know they all get custom roms,5.3" is a big brick performance wise, which is better ?

Note is the better device simply because of its size. It's a beast and still performs well using the enxyos cpu. If the size isn't an issue the note would be my preferred device from your options. Pure Google is fine but can get boring after a while at least with the note you can still get the pure Google experience via custom roms. It's been upgraded to ICS as well so even better.

It first of all has to be carrier specific weither you prefer 4g, speed, or truly unlimited data. I have been with both Tmobile, version, and sprint. Overall I prefer sprint for the 3g on day to day and since they just got LTE I plan on staying. The viper looks amazing as does the EVO LTE. I would stay away from the windows phones unless you plan on rooting it into an android phone but make sure there is some decent development first. Overall I love android and will never go back! Samsung and HTC make great devices I've had from both but look at cnet and engadget for reviews they haven't steered me wrong yet. Good luck!!

Definitely you'll notice a difference. Dual core are very fast, especially galaxy note, even with stock firmware they fly. Gets better if you root.
If you really want to,get the galaxy note. Very good phone.Otherwise, galaxy s2 is better than nexus in my view.

aha the thing is their is an offer in one of the shops here where i live, the nexus is for 430 $ new and unlocked and the note is for 550$,is the note worth the 120 $ difference ?
Size matters?
I would go for the note if you are not afraid it is getting to big. I think the note is worth the extra $120.
Galaxy Note! is very fast

Bigger screen at same resolution, faster processor, that pen,if you want you can always put vanilla android cause of awesome development on the note, plus it will be way more fun to play games with.

Nexus, Note or S3, Just Can't Decide. Help Me Decide.

Help, my phones up for renewal now and for once I'm not running out to upgrade. I'm on SGS2 at the moment from a HTC Sensation XE from a Nexus 1 and I just can't make my mind up.
The HTC One X doesn't appeal because I use my phone a lot and do a lot of traveling on business which means I generally have to buy a Mugen battery. I also have an expensive 32gb SD that I'm not ready to throw in a drawer just yet.
The Nexus I I had was the most fun for flashing ROM's and that is essential, but the Galaxy Nexus feels like a bit of a step down from this phone and the previous and I want a big screen as I use it for office and email a lot.
A real head wrecker.
Helpppppp!

Between the Nexus and the S3, the S3 is a better device (best processor, screen, overall experience). You might end up waiting a bit longer for official Jellybean or other future updates but that's a compromise I'd be willing to make. If you really want the precision note taking ability the Note is probably the best choice.
Yeah, that's pretty much my thinking too. My heart says go with the Nexus but my head says go with the S3. The Nexus would probably annoy me because I'd root it within minutes and put Jellybean on then get fed up at no Flash support, and the Galaxy will frustrate me by not having stable CM9 due to all the new hardware....and the Note is just a fat S2. Grrr, why don't Google time their Nexus releases with my phone contracts.

Flash works just fine on my Gnex running jellybean.
get a S3, it may look horrible but its worth the while,
its like chuck norris
Buy an off contract Nexus test it out and if you like it when the new Nexus phones are released use your contract renewal to get that .You don't have to use it right away
i think the Note 2 is coming out soon, but I wouldn't recommend it anyways
Hmm, I can see it isn't just me that would struggle with this decision. I think its a toss up between the S3 and the Nexus, but searching the internet has given me a headache as I believe the One X is actually excellent in battery, and Sense 4 is good because I had it on my Sensation. The Note 2 is intriguing too, if its the same spec as the S3, but I could be waiting ages for it to hit the UK vodafone shops (when is it due for release anyway?).
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
I also what to buy a new phone, and I'm thinking about waiting for the Note 2 because I love that huge screen, but don't want to buy an "old" phone.
Also, the Note 2 should have a slightly bigger screen with an higher resolution.
Shortcomings
When I am in this situation I always ask for the weak points of each phone. A chain is as strong as its weakest link, so that is what one has to look for.
The Galaxy Nexus has no SD card slot, yet only 16 GB of built-in memory. That is an incredibly stupid design decision, in my view. The thing cannot hold a candle to my old Nexus One with 32 GB.
Other phones have a battery you cannot swap. That is even more stupid, as the battery may only live for a year under heavy use, and I always carry a spare, in case the one in my phone runs dry, which it regularly does when I travel or move around a lot on foot and cannot recharge. Hence these phones are just as useless.
Unfortunately some idiot designers come up with ever more ideas to render a phone worthless, so you have to be very wary. Articles with news about phones are useless too, because they concentrate on the strong points of each phone and neglect its flaws. The journalists write worthless stuff and leave out the useful information.
Can anybody think about other value-subtracting features of new phones? GPS flaws seem to be widespread, as are design decisions that turn a mobile phone into a regional phone that fails when you travel.
Which is the company that makes fewer mistakes than the others?
I'd personally recommend the nexus because you always get first updates
Everyday use + modding = Galaxy Nexus
Everyday use + media (storage and screen) + gaming + modding = Galaxy S3
Everyday use + media + modding + gaming + really big screen = Galaxy Note
In terms of power: Galaxy S3 > Galaxy Note > Galaxy Nexus
The Nexus gets updates first, but the international S3 (and Note) will get updates quickly as well. Just don't get the carrier variants.
I think s3 is your choise and the batery of this phone is much better than any other smartphone, and for the other spec.of this phone i have no words.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
I'd say S3. I own the i9300 (international) and it's great!
Thanks guys, that really is useful. I think on balance it has to be the S3 then. Didn't realise that the Galaxy Nexus didn't have an SD slot, madness, that rules it out with the One X.
The note would be nice but the old one is just a fat S2, and I have a thin S2 and a TF101, so it's not worth wasting an upgrade on that. I will ask Vodafone when the new note is coming, but failing that, I'm going to have to plump for the S3. Does it have a fixed battery though, because that would be a deal breaker really considering all the travel I do. I often munch through a full Mugen battery let alone the stock ones.

As of now, You may not be able to buy the Galaxy Nexus.
The note2 is rumored for a September release to try to take sales away before the iphone5 is released. Before it was rumored for an October release date.

looking for your opinion on new phone???

stuck to sprint and wifey needs a new phone her evo 4g wont charge any more and sprint wants 100 dollars to warranty it, so im just going to get her new phone since she qualifies for a upgrade, choices are iphone5 (yes i know this is a android site) evo 4g lte, samsung gs3 or note 2, dont know which one to get her, think the note 2 might be 2 big

S3 or Note 2. Note 2 might be too big, so you could get the S3 instead. I wouldn't get the evo 4g lte because it still only has 1 GB of RAM and with that bloat from Sense, its gonna take up quite a bit. The battery on Evo is also 100 mah smaller, and Sense drains battery pretty damn quickly too. I wouldn't get iPhone 5 because I know 2 people with iPhone 5s and both had issues with them (one couldnt get WiFi to work, and the other had massive battery drain.)
ended up going with the note 2 and she loves it!!!
it's so ugly though

I like this one not to big and not too small perfect in hand.

Time to upgrade, but can't decide on which one

Hey guys, I believe this is my first post.
I've had a Nexus S 4G since last March and Sprint is telling me that I'm eligible for an upgrade. My wife doesn't seem to want to get a new phone so I'm thinking about giving her my Nexus S and getting a new one for me.
I'm looking at the LG Optimus G and the Galaxy Nexus. The biggest thing drawing me to the GNex is it's fairly similar to the Nexus S, and I love that phone. Would just like the GNex for the faster processor and more space. The Optimus G looks interesting because it seems to be the CDMA version of the Nexus 4, but the glass casing and terrible LG updates are making me second guess.
I've also noticed the the development for the Optimus seems stale, maybe since it's so new. Where on the other side, I already know that the development for the GNex is huge.
Thoughts, opinions, flames, whatever you want to bring to the table, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks!

Okay, after some research and finding out that the Optimus G does not have a removable battery, that one is definitely off the table.
I seriously may consider the GS3. I just love the Nexus devices so much though. The GNex seems to me like a Nexus S on steroids.
I'll see. Gonna go look at some tonight and see what kind of deals people have. I know the old lady wants a GS3 so I may surprise her with one.
only android?
or you are looking for something else?
you cant go wrong with a gs3..and if you wanna root and mod it,this is the place to be with your gs3
bear in mind also if u plan to use LTE support, different country, uses different band and make sure u get the right phones, i got an LG optimus, and my provided provide a different LTE band... suck...
go for Galaxy Nexus you won't regret it.
Well the galaxy nexus gsm version is the best phone I used so far. But I heard bad things about the CDMA version such as potentially poor signal, much slower official updates compared to the gsm version and less battery life. Don't forget the Galaxy Nexus will have the widest variety of third party os roms such as firefox and upcoming Ubuntu and Tizen.
The Galaxy S3 might be a better choice if you don't need as cutting edge roms and updates though. It has excellent camera, microsd slot, longer battery, slightly better screen and beret sound quality (either the us or international version). I'm disappointed with the built quality though and the Nexus built is definitely better even if not great. Also you should read the thread about many people getting sudden death issue with their 16gb S3 due to failed nand, but I guess you're okay if you have sprint warranty.

I've been seriously thinking about it, I have the S4 now and its really nice. But design wise i felt better holding my HTC ONE XL.
Also i use it for music and the sound card in it is garbage, anything over halfway and the base just distorts and ruins everything.
The G2 has killer audio in it and i love the way it looks with the buttons.
Highly thinking of selling the s$ and getting the G2.
I'll de waiting to see how the development community picks on it first though.
Thats why I switched to the S4 i figured development was always killer for the Galaxy line and my ONE XL was pretty weak on development.

NOTE 3 looks awesome so I will get that. Just not too sure of the leather or faux leather back.
I would not buy anything other than a Samsung actually.
It just consistently has the best chance for great development community support.
I'm not saying LG won't get support, but high end Samsung phones generally gets MORE support and FASTER than most other mfg's.
If HTC didn't put their hard buttons backwards , then they would be my second choice.
