Hi guys..
m kinda new here in the forum..
i recently flashed my milestone to cynogenmod 7..
im having issues with the camera..
it always crashes every time i take a picture.. and it starts to hang and then reboot..
i tried different camera apps from google play.. still.. crashes and reboots..
and if i use the flash..
after i press the camera button to take the picture..
it keeps on flashing and flashing and then reboot follows..
any idea about the cause of this??
Did you use any script or optimization, or change any memory parameter? Also: did you try with an empty SD card?

Try using SD Speed Increase to set the cache size between 1024 and 2048 kb. I had the same problem, but now have mine set to 1024kb and no longer have this problem.

Class 2 SD Card might be the reason for this. Try to remove or change another sd card and see if it is better.

i gave up fixing my 1st milestone.. i decided to get it back to eclair.. even froyo 2.2.1 manifest same problem..
thanks for giving me some ideas on how to deal with it..
i did the abovementioned instruction..
i empty the SD card... and i think its not the SD card.. my SD card is from lenovo.. and i believe it would not be falling as class 2 SD card..
im thinking and convinced it must be hardware problem..

I used to have that problem with my old sgs4g so i sent it back and got a new one. My new one did it once but then i rooted my phone amd flashed a rom amd it stopped. One thing you should do is uninstall ROM manager it doesnt work on our phone so dont use it.

Well not sure about your camera issue but anything you did with rom manager may have issues. Rom manager does not work with the sgs4g.

try this, get sdbooster from market and set your sdcard's cache to 128k. Now try recording.

Froyo camcorder used to give just "Write error" message. Newer GB ROMs gives a message saying that SD card is not fast enough.
Flash memory write speed may decline over time comparing to freshly formatted card. I think it has something to do with erasing memory blocks to prepare them to be overwritten. Plus our class 2 card is not the fastest for sequential writes.
On the other hand full HD MP4 stream is only about 12Mbps or 1.5MBps, so theoretically any SD card that can sustain 2MBytes/sec write speed should do.
My card (original class 2) measures about 6 to 10 MBytes/sec (don't think it's real) with SDTools and 3-4MBps with Antutu (more real). At one point the write speed fell down and I started to get camcorder failures. I had to do full reformat to make it work again. I also used 32KB cluster size during formatting, it makes the card a little faster but sacrifices some space.
3 months ago to now, so I do not understand why does XT720 often crash and see black screen when install a new app (app >5Mb). I installed both in 3 ways: installed from the market, copy the app to memory card and install, install from computer with ADB. All that is hanging black screen, press the power key but the screen didn't open. And i have to remove the battery to reboot! I also tried a lot of Cook Rom also will get results like that.
Do the other android users have encountered this situation? And do you know the cause or how to fix it not? Hope for your help!
Regard!
I never had this problem maybe you should try hard reseting you phone.

I encountered this in other ROMS (Specifically using Khal's MIUI). I thought it was my SD card. But when i updated to CM6 I havent encountered this issue at all.
Btw, you can try booting with out the sdcard and see if that will get you to your home screen.

Thanks for your suggest, i was try to format SDcard or flash to CM6. But it still happend
What about factory reset
Formatting won't solve your issue (for me it didn't). It is not software corruption of your card's filesystem. It is your kernel getting stuck writing large amount of data to the card, and can't drive it. You can observe it when installing large APK, or taking photo with max resolution, or record HD video. Sometimes overclocking/overvolting may help you, try that. The best solution is to get a class 10 SD card ... their speed matches up the data written and known to cause less lockup.
I've already posted a thread on this awhile ago, with no luck to finding a solution! Randomly my apps get uninstalled without me doing so. I don't relize its even fond till I to use the app and its not there. Has anyone ever heard of this happening and how to fix it. Or a setting that could be causing this issue. Been happening for awhile now.
Any help would be appreciated and thanked
I have never heard of this happening before.
Question, is it just recent apps you may have installed? Do apps you install go missing after a reboot?
Have you done anything... "interesting" to your phone? (rooting and recovery are interesting, just in case you need a metric)
The only times I have seen something like this is when apps automatically get installed on sd card. after a reboot, they weren't moved correctly so they "magically disappear". Check if they are on sd, card

You can also try going to recovery and fix permissions and then reboot
I've never heard of such an issue of applications automatically uninstalling themselves. So, you download an app from the Play Store, then reboot, and its gone? You should try a factory reset / returning back to stock, thats what I'd do.

I've had this happen to me too. I couldn't find the app icon and when I tried to reinstall it asked me if I would like to replace existing application. As someone said before it can be an app2sd issue.
Sent from my SGH-T769 using xda premium
I personally have never had that happen with my Blaze. Every app I've ever loaded on there stays.
I know this might be somewhat of a longshot but if you're saving your apps to your microSD card you might want to either check out the card to see if its corrupted. That might be the problem.

This has happened to me, too. Just yesterday I noticed my facebook app was nowhere to be found.
I am using the latest dknight rom with Go Launcher. Other than the Go Launcher, I have not tweaked anything else, nor have I moved any apps to the SD card.

I know that problem, too. But this's happened in the past. What've I do ?
Odin stock ROM, reboot. Odin Recovery, reboot.
After that, unmount USB Storage in Setting. Try to format USB storage ( do it 3 times ) and mount again
Power off. Go to recovery, do exactly everythings in erikmm's thread. Reboot and the issue are solved
If this problem happen again because App install in SD Card. Try to unmount SDcard and factory reset
You guys have "strange" Galaxy S Blaze 4G.

Hi. May i ask you if your problem soumds like mine? Where ur apps are? in the phone memory or on sd? I install some application via the play store and after a while, an hour sometimes even a day those app will disappear by themselves , and i'm not talking about the icon but the full app, and in the meantime a warning came out from the navigation bar saying "the app xxx has been removed" because if your problem looks like mine the solution may be the same. Note that one of mine apps has been saved on the sd. In case your problem looks like mine can u please tell me the step you've made in the most easy way. I have to translate ur information in italian language and i want to be sure to understand the whole procedure.
Thx. P.s. which is the erikmm tread u r referring to? May u please copy and paste it for me?
hiya i wonder if any1 can help!
basically my phone was telling me my sd card had been removed (no big deal i thought, this seems to happen to my phone from time to time since running this ROM (bruce2728's cm10)).
i can usually either remove the sd card and put back in, or the same with the battery to get it working again. but no matter how many times i try it wont work. also when using this ROM (and before this problem) every time that i try to enter storage from the settings menu, settings force closes.
so completely out of ideas i tried doing a wipe and trying again. now u see im fairly new to all this and that seems to get touted as a way to fix some things, so i thought id give it a go.
but now my phone wont get past the white with green HTC logo, its been sat like that for about an hour! and in recovery it just says that it cannot mount sd card!!
i feel im firmly up **** creek. is there any way to fix this? perhaps a way to flash a ROM without using sd card to a phone that wont boot up?
i feel i might need to flash a new bootanimation.img as i changed this from the default in the ROM, could i also do this without an sd card or a phone that wont get past HTC logo?
i hope there is someone out there that can help!
thank you in advance,
Max
I would install ARHD from Mike1986 it seems to help resettle the device running a sense ROM. Make sure you follow his instructions using ext4 and super wipe

The recovery won't pick up the SD card? That is very odd. Do you have any others around to test with?

I'm assuming you've tried pulling the battery, unseating the sd card, reseating it, putting battery back, and going to recovery right?
If that doesn't work I'd suggest trying to read the sd in card in a PC... is it readable there?
All in all you can get to recovery so you arent that bad off, just need to figure out what's up with the SD.
Yes I can view my SD card on both my PC and my tablet :/ but when I boot into 4ext it says problem mounting SD card, may take longer without. Then when 4ext loads I can't manually mount SD or browse for zip file. You think this is more likely a hardware issue with my sensation?

On your PC, copy all your files off your SD card, format your SD card (makes sure the filesystem is set to fat32), and then just put 1 file on it, a ROM, and see if the recovery detects it. If that doesn't work then you can always try using a different SD card.

This isn't part of your SD card problem. This was a ROM bug that was fixed in the Jan 9th update. Any use of the storage menu from the settings on the late December to Jan 6th builds caused a FC.
So if you are using one of those builds, don't factor in th esettings FC in your diagnosis of the problem.
SD card ejections were also an issue on the Dec 21 - Jan 3rd builds if I recall correctly. I had one day where the SD card would just unmount and refused to remount. It was a problem experienced by only a handful of people and seemed to be very limited. Though if you can't mount in recovery than that's probably not the issue.
Also, you said you could press the SD card into the slot and it mounted for a second...
2 things on that note.
First, your SD card might be the problem. Maybe the contacts are worn out. Take a lcose look at it and make sure it looks okay. No corrosion, etc...
Second, the metal housing around the SD card...that can be mashed in slightly to put more pressure on the card. Take the card out and press the middle of that housing in. It could create enough force to hold the card in more securely. Be VERY careful with this option though.
Also, did you make sure another SD card got the same problem? If another card works, then your card is just f'ed.

Find the exact rom you were on and take the boot IMG out of it. Wipe your data and cache and then boot to fastboot. With the boot.IMG
In your adb folder do fastboot boot boot.IMG and see if it boots into the rom.

Oh. So the case is same as mine but I used Explode ROM.
What class SD card do you use? I believe its due to sd-ext conflict.
Try keeping more free space in the sd-ext or try with upgraded class sd card.
These are just my few cents. I ain't sure about these stuffs.
Sandisk class4 card. Its due to some app conflict. Guess lucky patcher is responsible
