Well when you do a factory reset and anything else you'll lose all of your information but it can be very easy to recover. If you added a Google account to your phone then your contacts will be backed up and your apps redownloaded and anything on your SD card will stay there. All of the stuff from the Google account will come back after you have added the SAME Google account to the phone during setup which is done when you flash a new rom.

Well I'm not too sure, especially with your phone but this is what should happen, reboot into recovery, do some wipes then flash the roms and reboot, if it comes up with a problem DURING the flashing then redownload the rom. If the case is that your phone doesn't boot fully then the problem is that you are using the wrong firmware because you are using a Rom with a different android version. If this didn't solve it then try asking in the sgs2 forums because I don't know too much about your phone

First, boot into recovery. Not sure how it works on the sgs2 because I'm running an Incredible 2, but it should be by holding the power and volume buttons if you can't get there from ROM manager.
Second, wipe data/factory reset.
Third, wipe cache partition.
Fourth, advanced/wipe dalvik cache.
Fifth, mounts and storage/format system.
Sixth, install zip from sd card.
Seventh, install gapps if it isn't in the ROM.
Eighth, reboot.

First....update Clockwork
then...wipe data/factory reset (in Recovery)
then...wipe cache partition
then...flash it once more and if it does not work try re downloading the ROM because there is a possibility some important files are corrupted...

All of which was available by doing a search ^
You can also add try a different rom to the above list.
I have done all on that atleast twice. I had just redownloaded the rom last night

this is a ext3/4 rom Is your sd card formated properly? If its version 6.6 ( the latest) try using version 6.5 first as this will format the sd card for you.. back up your sd card first just to be sure you don't lose your information. in CWM mount the sd card and copy to computer.. Hope this helps.
Already stated previously but worth another try. Install another ROM, maybe one that is almost stock. Then try Coredroid again.
I also suggest you ask in the Coredroid forum. Good luck.
Ok thanks ill see what i can find out over there

are you flashing through rom manager or cwm ?
I have the same issue, i used rom manager, did the wipe.. and its just stuck on the animation loop.
If anyone could help, it would be appriciated.
Thanks
Found it.
Thanks
Got it going, I did a recovery, then updated with coredroid v7.0.. Works very well.. no problems here.
By the way, I'm digging the new layout.

Okay so basically it wont boot up it says HTC quietly Brilliant and just sits there.I would just install a new rom and what not but it acts as if the sd card wasnt there.I click install zip from sd card and the screen changes (to follow through with the command i assume) but then just goes black.I have tried factory wipes and stuff but I read that I need a stock rom.I dont care if I need to re-root I just need a stock rom to set it back to the day I bought it.
EDIT" ok so i realize now that I literally deleted my entire sdcard EVERYTHING gone completly not even directories

Have you got CWRecovery? If you have, flash any custom ROM then flash any stock
RUU, but before you can do that, you need to SuperCID your device.
If you have CWRecovery and you have made a backup of a previous ROM, just restore it.
Hold volume down and power and factory reset, or as stated before if your rooted go to cwm factory reset or restore previous rom

well unfortunately I dont have a CW restore because I was trying to wipe the phone completely (to get a fresh start).I noticed that I can fix it with ODIN somehow but it says I need a stock rom.So ur saying grab any of those Pyramid_RUU roms and it will work?

If u supercid with all ones you can flash a ruu.exe and it will bring ur phone back to life.
You don't have cwm or u just don't have a restore Rom?
Are u rooted or s-off?
If so put this file on the root of your sd card:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=3XJEHM9A
Boot into recovery and flash and u will.have the newest cwm, than boot into recovery, than factory reset or download a rom of your choice and flash
You should be fine now.

if i'm in stock froyo, and i want to flash a GB MiUI rom!
should i flash a froyo kernel or a GB kernel?
If your on GB you Need GB! NEVER mix you'll get bootloop
Big Dog Infuse I997 ICS CatyRom
but i'm in froyo and want to upgrade to GB.. still confused
Read. Search. All of your questions have answers on here.!

Only the kernel thats in miui can be used to run miui. If ur on froyo and u want to install miui I believe all u have to do is be rooted, change recovery to e3 modded recovery, install cwm. After that boot into recovery. If its ur 1st time booting into recovery you'll have to select reinstall packages two times then it will boot into green recovery. Do a backup then wipe data/factory reset, and wipe dalvik cache. Then flash miui. Restart ur phone it will get stuck at the Samsung boot screen. Pull the battery. Start ur phone holding both volume buttons until the buttons on the bottom of the phone light up and let go. U shud boot into blue recovery now and then reflash the rom reset and bam! Miui goodness! I would use SMS backup to backup ur texts and backup ur contacts onto ur SD just in case. I would say backup ur apps with titanium backup but I don't believe that you will be able to restore those app without manger problems. I'm unsure of that tho. I believe that's all right. U should checkout one of the miui threads and they'll tell you everything u need to know. Plus it'll stop other people on here from getting mad that u didn't read. But im a nice guy and I'm just letting you know. Also Galents update to miui is coming out today get it from their website!

Hey Guys,
so I've been a lurker on the forums and on reddit for months now. I decided to root my phone today (was on 2.3.6) and flash the CM9 Alfa18... So I did everything as explained in the step-by-step guides. I wiped all data/factory reset then flashed CM9...
On reboot, my phone is stuck on the Google Logo..
I can get to ClockworkMod Recovery v.3.0.0.0 but I don't know what to do from here on to get my phone working again
I tried wipe data/factory reset to no avail.
Can anyone tell me what to do now?

thats an old clockwork recovery. you need either clockwork recovery 5.x.x.x or the latest twrp recovery. try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=988686&highlight=recovery
OK sounds like a bad download. Redownload the rom and within clockwork mod u can mount to your computer and transfer files. Put the rom on your SD card and flash it again make sure u re wipe everything see if that works.

K so I thought it was a bad download as well so I downloaded Nexus MV 2.12.25 with GAPPS_ICE_4.0.3, and flashed again!
WORKS!!!
Thanks for your help guys. I think my problem was the outdated Recovery, or maybe bad CM9 download. Maybe both? lol
Thanks again!
Your CWM version wasn't compatible anymore. Had the same problem. Glad your phone works again.
