Have you check on Storage Setting ( Settings > Storage > SD card) either the SDCard already mounted (if mounted it will show Unmount SD card if not it will state mount SD card).
If it mounted and you have Custom Recovery try boot to Recovery and try mount and see if it working on Recovery. If not it maybe your cable/micro SD card/computer have problem.
If it not working check the ROM page either they have support this feature or not, or maybe you have to reflash the ROM again.

I think it was the shizilon v41 I flashed and maybe picked something wrong. Because a reinstalled the from and it back working. Kinda strange. I don't know what happened really. But I fixed it. Thanks

No diskdrive
I have the same problem.
I am on Android Revolution 6.6.3. and have been for quiet some time. Never had any problems. Until a few days ago all of a sudden:
1. The pop up option for charge or diskdrive dissappeared when plugging in the cable
2. The icon in the drop down menu has also dissappeared
The strange thing is:
- The phone however IS charging.
- I tried a different cable; same result
- I tried 3 different computers (winx64, winx32 and apple) same result
- I did the total disassemble (remove battery and sd card) and reassemble
- I can acces my SD card in my phone; it is working ok
- Settings are set for automatic connect as diskdrive
- I did not install any app that has to do with performance of SD card or stuff like that
Don't know what to do anymore: anobody got a clue???

For the first time something like that happened to me the other day... What I did was change ports, then I wiggled the USB connections, mine were not connecting as they should, once I did that it finally recognised it, but I think it's in the cable..... So after I reconnected and wiggled port connections it poped up. Tells me I need a new USB.again........this is my second USB I'm a short time. Sometimes they go bad. Perhaps this is your problem too? Fiddle with it and see if connection is the problem. Hope this helps in some way
Good luck

[Q] SDCard Will not mount on computer

When I plug my phone into the computer it actually shows up as two separate removable discs. The SD card is removable E and the phone is removable F. Hope this helps.

Make sure USB debugging is enabled. For whatever reason, on both android phones I've owned, my computer could only pick up sd cards with it enabled.
Second thought, if you're using a custom kernel, sometimes it can break USB. I remember morfic's kernel broke it back when I used Bionix 2
I had this problem a few days ago after I flashed the Trigger 2.3.4 gb rom coming from Ultimate 2.2 froyo rom..When I'd plug in my usb and try to mount the SD cards the phone would say the cards are mounted (even the icons for apps installed on the sd would go generic as if they were mounted) but the drives wouldn't show up on my pc for some reason. I never had that problem before so it drove me nuts until I finally got it resolved but for me it was multiple problems..Like the guy before me said always make sure usb debugging is turned on and this may or may not apply to you but if turning on usb debugging doesn't fix it get the LG update tool and install the drivers from inside there because they are the most current ones..I thought mine were the most current because I even redownloaded the drivers on LG's support site but those aren't the most current ones. Anyway hope this helps someone avoid the nightmare I went through!
Sent telepathically using the new "Mind Control" app on the market...Didn't believe it worked until I tried it myself!
Try a different SD card?

[Q] Cannot Mount SD Card: Recovery or ROM?

I just updated several things on my Sensation. First, I updated from Energy Oct 18 to Energy Oct 22 ROM; second, I updated from Stock Kernel to Bricked v1.4; third, I updated from CWMR 4.0.1.4 to CWMR 5.0.2.0.
Everything is working fine, except for the fact that I can't figure out how to mount my SD Card when connected to my computer via USB right now. After rebooting after updating CWMR, I wanted to install Amaze camera v7.
I can't figure out why I can't mount the disk drive because I didn't change any settings. I have USB debugging enabled, and even in "connect to pc" when I set the default connection type to "disk drive" nothing happens. I also tried unplugging the USB cable and plugging it back in, but I still can't get the phone to bring up the prompt asking how I want to connect (and before you ask, I have it set to "ask me about USB connection type whenever I connect my phone to a PC). What do you guys think the problem is? Is it CWMR 5.0.2.0? If it is, I'll gladly change over to that EXT4 Recovery.
Remove you sd card and return it back to the phone.
It sounds like a problem with the SD card. As said above, try removing it and reinserting it.
Or if you have an SD carrier for it, try using that to read it in another reader and format it.

[Q] SD CARD Not Mounting

Im using Virtuous Quattro RC2. I cannot mount my usb in the Rom or in Recovery. My SD card works fine within the mobile but when i connect the usb cable, it only charges and does not show any notifications to connect.
ADB also does not connect.
I tried an app on XDA somewhere which supposedly fixes the problem but i still cant connect. Please help. Really need to fix this !
ps - Tried full wipe and re installing rom.
I don't know if it will be the same, but I had this problem before with a few other ROMS and ended up with a reply/fix as in this thread;-

[Q] USB, Disk Drive, & Linux

Last night I tried to transfer a file via my Inspire and Lubuntu. Phone was set for disk drive. When I hooked it up I noticed the phone said disk drive, but then switched to charge only. When I went to set it back to disk drive the option was not there. The only way I could get it to come back is to re-boot. Any ideas of how to fix this?
I'm just starting rooting myself have you tried turning the USB debugging on

Are you using a stock ROM. It was a bug I experienced as well on my linux box with my inspire. It somehow didn't mount the SD after a disconnect but mounting it via settings gave me the option again.

I did tick the USB debugging but no luck.
Yes I am using the stock ROM. Please explain what you did regarding the settings.

Sorry for not responding sooner. Under settings, there should be an option for Storage where you can view the space left on the phone and the sd card. At the very bottom there is an option to mount or unmount. Basically, disconnect the Inspire from the PC, allow the sd card to automatically mount itself. Then the option for "unmount" should appear. Unmount the sd card and then click mount again. This worked whenever I experienced the bug.
-EDIT-
*Technical Info*
The reason that rebooting "fixed" the problem is because the stock rom's shutdown script unmounts the sdcard and then mounts the sdcard after booting up.

[Q] Hardware-only way to get into USB Mode?

Long story short, my phone incurred water damage as a result of going into a pool, and after using rice to dry it out, the phone works perfectly, with one exception: the touchscreen doesn't work at all, and I think it's permanently broken. It still displays everything (my lockscreen, background, notification bar, etc...) but I can't slide to unlock or touch the buttons or anything. I used the System Information screen from the bootloader menu (I rooted using Ace's guide) and that said "TOUCH PANEL-fail". I have insurance through SquareTrade, so I'm not worried about the phone itself, but I'd like to get my data off of it.
When I plug it into my computer using the USB cable, the computer recognizes that I plugged something in and other computers automatically detect the drivers and install them, but I can't get my phone to show up in the file system where USB drives and other things normally show up (Computer or My Computer). My friend told me that there's a hardware-only way to switch into USB mode on an iPhone, and I was wondering if there's a similar trick to do it on the Inspire. If there were such a thing, would I be able to use it to get all of my data off of my phone? Is there a way to switch the Inspire to USB mode through hardware alone? If so, how do I do it?

You could boot it up into 4ext or cmw and enable usb storage from there to transfer files off of it. When off, hold power and down on your volume until the boot menu pops up, then boot into recovery. within recovery has your option to enable usb mass storage mode
I tried that and couldn't find a menu option that worked - I tried going to "mounts and storage" and then "mount USB storage", but it said:
AHK ClockworkMod Recovery v4.0.1.4
E:Unable to write to ums lunfile (No such file or directory)
What did I do wrong?

You could try this....

Maybe this is just thinking outside the box... but since you are mounting the mass storage device you are trying to get data off the micro SD Card. Couldn't you just take the micro SD card out? That's all of your data. Then if security is your issue run the following commands in adb. This will make your phone unbootable. So I am not sure if that will mess with your insurance claim.
adb shell
su
format SYSTEM
format DATA
format CACHE

haha I'm not quite that clueless - I removed the SD card and got all of that data off, but I want to try to get anything that's directly on the phone off as well. I'll look into both of those methods and let you guys know if either of them work, thanks!
in recovery just create backup, it goes to sd card..
then on your new indentical phone just restore.
DJ_MiX, I think that sounds like a really good, easy solution - would I be able to restore the files to a different phone? I'm thinking about getting the Galaxy Nexus as a replacement, but I'm open to getting another HTC Inspire if it would be the only way to preserve all of my data.
