Applications Safe To Remove (Note) - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Themes and Apps

with permission from our able moderators i am reposting this file which lists applications/apk which are or maybe safe to disable/remove/freeze via TB...
please feel free to add anything else...and for the advanced users, a flashable zip for removing and also reinstalling them would be a great help
Spreadsheet of Applications
ps...the list is from the sgs2 threads but most of them appear as well on our device
thanks to

I uninstalled abunch of stuff through Titanium Backup.
Will I see a speed in performance or longer battery life?

Great post! Thanks

probability would be more battery life as these are the usual suspects for wakelocks or just for removing bloats

If these aren't actually active and running services/processes, probably won't do anything.

indeed...but it helps especially when you are using TB or Root Explorer...at the least you would know what this app does...is that app running and consuming battery...rooted phones would get the most out of this list (kinda biased actually )...this goes well with betterbatterystats and cpuspy...looking for wakelocks and rogue apps and bloats that run but not everyone uses...
btw this is an open thread so everyone who've done their own removals can add to the list...

ps...mods may i request for a sticky if permitted...thanks

Great Post mate!!

Thanks for the info...I hope it will help to enhance the over all of the performance..

Did I see quite similar things here?

If not, maybe I can generate a script based on the list in this thread and get my Note 'cleaned up' automatically.

Samsung Push
I noticed the Samsung Apps app installed a Samsung Push service that seems to run all the time. I removed it, and it got installed again next time I went there.
I had to disable its receivers (listeners) with Autorun Manager instead of removing it.

personally i removed all samsung bloatwares as they did nothing for me ...besides those services they offer are all there in the play store (msg, social network, email etc) without the wakelocks or background apps running...but in case id have the need for them then i can always pull them out from the original zip of my custom rom build just in case

This is a very use full post thanks again

I agree, but there are sometimes good deals and freebies in the Samsung Apps store. It just annoyed me that going there reinstalled this push app every time, so I effectively disabled it instead.

Startup Cleaner.

Hey peeps, thought I'd drop off a thread and see whatchayall think. It's a startup cleaner program. Seems pretty decent and could be a good app for people like me who hate crap like fring running on autostart, etc. =P
http://www.appbrain.com/app/com.bright.startup2
Tried it, nice find.
Uninstalling market updates first is getting to be a pain!
This app works great! Stopped all sorts of apps from starting up! Good stuff, thanks!
**EDIT**
Only killed them once the phone was booted completely. Didn't do a logcat to verify this at first.
Haha, actually I noticed what it does is just kill the task that starts up. It doesn't PREVENT the task from starting though.

Should be something like startup auditor then. Actually preventing apps from starting up would require a rooted phone with the autostarts app.

Yeah, could there be a chance someone in the community would be able to mod the app to do so? Not sure if the dev is reading this here. Lol.

I think the dev is probably trying to cater to non rooted users as well lol. Not 100% sure of this, but stopping apps from starting up at all should require a rooted phone.

ICS Perfection

I have been here reading about the glitches folks are having with the ICS leak such as shutdown-reboot freeze, freeze on mms deletion, battery consumption and others. I am happy to say that I have not experienced any of these glitches, other than the contacts tab missing from the phone app (and thats is not even technically a glitch). I have been resistant to flashing any of the new CWM Roms because this original oneclick version runs so perfectly for me. Is there anything from my phone that the Devs might want to look at to help narrow the cause of these issues that others are having?
Same, no issues here. This is the first leak that I have had no problems with.
Same here no issues except for shutdown :-(.... Im trying to fix though
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using XDA
First flash I had no home button, second flash (current) my home button is a little laggy, all the other buttons vibrate isntantly but home has a very slight delay, doesnt really affect anything. everything else seems to work, except google wallet for me.
first flash was perfect, i borked it trying to import AOSP pieces haha
second flash was no home button, factory reset fixed that, still have the reboot problem though.
sometimes when i use rynga or viber i loose the incall sound so i have to restart the phone to fix it.. and i use them but then i loose the sound again

So when deleting txt messages it doesn't forceclose on you either? You must be the only one cause its happening to everyone that's reported issues with the release.

Nope, no FC on deleting mms or sms. I will make a screencast video to show the normal operation. I was hoping that maybe some files in my phone would be useful to a dev to get it fixed for others. The only thing I have done to it other than install basic apps is to root and add GO Launcher with ics theme.
Can anyone confirm that tethering (non-AT&T approved) is working with the leak? That's the one thing keeping me from upgrading from the GB from I'm on.

Is this better? And to be clear, I never said it was a "fix" or "workaround" in any way. Read the OP, and you will see that this is the one click method install with no mods other than root and Go Launcher. I stated it worked on it's own correctly.

Scott, thanks, lol. I am SO tired tonight. I edited. Now could you edit it from your quote please? Thanks again.
I have done some further reading and noticed the people not getting these problems are the ones such as myself who did no kind of wipe before using Odin and oneclick solution to upgrade from GB to ICS. I did no wipes only because I got ahead of myself accidentally. Maybe this time it paid off for me. Has anyone looked into the possibility that it is the initial wipe process causing the issues that are being presented?

So I watched the video, and since I had this problem was skeptical. I noticed you used delete threads from menu. I was def getting force close when long pressing and hitting delete thread. I tried it your way, and it worked fine. Then I tried it with long click and it works now too. Problems that fix themselves, don't get it. But I'll take it

Err not to stamp on your parade but there are other better keyboards out there like Swype or swift key. Not to mention last I heard GO usually packages their apps with a lot of intrusive ads and spam. Also the fact they collect and sell info

It let's you disable apps that you can't through the application manager, so yes it's very useful. And that's not even considering the benefits of having a UI tool with backup/restore app list and batch operations.

I finally got a chance to try this but I just saw it needs root. That kinda ruins it for us verizon users since we cant get root. If I could root I'd just use titanium backup to freeze them or remove them though this is a nice way to do a bunch all at once.

Getting rid of samsung apps

Hi just got this phone after a year of the Moto z force. There are several apps built in which don't allow to be disabled or uninstalled such as the Samsung calender. I was hoping there is a way to get rid of this using something called adb however I've never used this before. Would really appreciate if someone can post a link and point me in the right direction to rid these apps from my phone including a list on what is safe to remove.
