[Q] G2X USB Tethering RNDIS Driver ISSUE - T-Mobile LG G2x

This will definitely seem like a repeat thread but as far as I can tell this specific issue has not been solved.
I have a rooted lg p999 so g2x or optimus 2x using clockworkmod.
I am trying to use USB tethering to use my phone internet connection on my computer (my computer does not have a wireless card).
If I am correct from what I have read I first download and install the lg united usb drivers package.......DONE
Next I plug in my phone via USB to my computer and some things should pop up and install.....SEMI DONE
One device LGE Android Phone does not install any drivers because it says it cannot find them.
To solve this I have tried downloading the tether inf file but that does not work as a driver for this device. (possibly i cannot find the correct inf file online?)
Next to solve this i tried manually installing remote ndis drivers from a list of network adapter drivers as mentioned here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1120552
but when I get to network adapters nothing is found.
For the record in device manager LGE Android Phone shows up with the ! under other devices and only the onboard network card shows up under network adapters.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

What ROM and kernel do you have?

If you are running an ICS based rom, the upgrade to ICS broke USB tethering. if not then we will need more info.

[Q] Used G Tablet

Hello,
I just received a used g tablet I purchased online.
From what I can tell the tablet has Vegan v1.0.0B5.1 installed android 2.2.
Here are my problems upon turning on the tablet. Cannot connect to wifi, starts then disconnects.
Plugged in the usb cable , tablet not recognized by laptop does not see it as a separate drive.
should I return this G Tablet or is there a way to fix this.
The previous owner told me he wiped the tablet to get all his info off but i think he went about it the wrong way.
Any advise?
In order for the lap top to recognize the device you will need to download the driver for g-slate to the lap top

Can anyone point me to a link with the driver, I am having no luck
Okay, I found the driver,
If anyone can post directions on how to get the driver installed on windows 7 i would be greatful
If you talk about adb driver then here is the link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10385457&postcount=1
Using adb you can have access to android os from your laptop. But for your tablet looks like USB disk your don't need driver. When you connect USB - android will ask : do you want to activate USB share?
You tap yes and your laptop will see internal sdcard as USB drive.

[Q] Re-installed LG Drivers and now can't access SD Card on my comp

Earlier I uninstalled the LG drivers I had installed and installed ones I just downloaded from their site. Now my computer won't detect my internal or external sd cards.
The driver I installed was LGUnitedMobileDriver_S498MA22_WHQL_ML_Ver_2.2
Did I do something wrong and id there a fix for this?
Hey there, if your on cm based or aosp or stock, go into settings-applications-developrment and check USB debugging

I'm on the CM7 release candidate. OS is Vista. USB debugging was already enabled. Here's what happens - when I run the LG driver installer is says it was installed. When I plug the phone into the computer - same cable and port that always worked in the past - a little icon shows in the systray that says the driver installation failed.
Uninstall g2x via pc then unplug from port.
Uninstall any lg drivers.
Do not connect phone.
Google g2x lg drivers vista or search xda or maybe someone can provide the link. Install drivers. Ensure USB debugging before connecting phone.
Also use different port.
I had this issue as well.
The drivers from lg itself didn't work for me. This what I did. Works fine.
I'm running eb ics

How To Fix Phone's IMEI

The following instructions are to be used to repair your G2X/P999 phone's IMEI number if it has been changed to all zeros which can happen due to a bad flash. These instructions are not for any other phone. Your phone's actual IMEI number is printed on the box your phone came in and it is on a sticker located under the battery.
1) Download QPST
http://hosting.ecap-droid.com/Droid/GetFile/20?pf=eMUuB7sRvenLWq&pub=bxfo8sfkv6
2) Install QPST and pin it to the Start Menu
3) Download LG Drivers
http://www.lg.com/us/support-mobile/lg-P999
4) Install LG Drivers
5) In the phone’s Settings -> Applications -> Development -> enable USB debugging
6) Access the phone's hidden menu using the phone keypad (dialer), enter: 1809#*999#
7) In Port Setting enable CP USB (do not enable Retain ...) then press: OK
8) Plug your phone into the USB port and wait a few seconds until the USB drivers install.
9) Access the LGE Mobile USB Modem driver through Control Panel -> Device Manager -> LGE Mobile USB Modem -> Advanced -> Advanced Port Settings
10) Click on the box next to “Append to Log” so that a checkmark is in that box.
11) Click on: Query Modem
The window above “Query Modem” should fill up with (the following data is from my phone, your phone’s Revision may be and IMEI will be somewhat different):
“ATQ0V1E0 - OK
AT+GMM - 0
AT+FCLASS=? - +FCLASS: (0-1)
AT#CLS=? - COMMAND NOT SUPPORTED
AT+GCI? - COMMAND NOT SUPPORTED
AT+GCI=? - COMMAND NOT SUPPORTED
ATI1 - Manufacturer: QUALCOMM INCORPORATED
Model: 0
Revision: M6600A-SCAUTNZ-2.0.9720T 1 [MAR 11 2012 10:00:00] MP:TRULGE_08.09.02R_MDM
IMEI: 0127XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX (I’ve X’d out my IMEI for security reasons)
+GCAP: +CGSM,+DS,+ES
ETC…”
If that doesn’t happen, then the Port Setting has probably reverted back to “AP USB” and will need to be changed back to “CP USB” or the LG drivers didn't install fully or correctly or the computer's usb connection or the usb cable has a problem. Check the phone’s screen and see if the Port Setting is still at “CP USB”. If it’s not (back on “AP USB”) redo step 7. If the setting is still at "CP USB" then reinstall the LG drivers. If there's still a problem, it may be the computer's USB port or the USB cable.
12) Click on: View log
The phone’s current IMEI is listed in the information.
a) If the IMEI is the same as the original one, that means it hasn’t really changed from the original IMEI and it should be OK after the phone is reflashed with a .kdz update file. Flash the phone with a .kdz file by using the offline method.
b) If the IMEI is not the same as the original one, that means it needs to be changed back to the original one.MOD EDIT: IMEI changing is illegal in most countries therefore the instructions to do so cannot be posted on this site. Sorry for the inconvenience

I thought I'd put something useful together because there hasn't been much happening in the G2X forum due to everyone waiting for LG to release the SU660 ICS source code and, hopefully, the results of its application to providing ICS and JB for the G2X.

If everyone was as helpful as you there would be no hunger in the world, no homeless people, etc :good: I hope the knowledge didn't come from firsthand experience:silly:
(PS:best username evar. My last year of undergrad I got to use a System/360 Model 30 with 16k of core memory...the guy in charge was surprised I knew that a "coredump" came from early unix systems having core memory. Yes, he had to smack the memory to fix the bits:victory

Ok so I got another laptop, formatted the drive, installed windows 7. Downloaded the drivers you suggested in your first post. Everything went well but now it shows "unknown device" in my device manager. This only happens when CPUSB is enabled. However when APUSB is enabled its fine. So, I guess I need to get this sorted out but am uncertain if there is another driver to install....
Any suggestions..

Is your phone setup with "USB debugging" selected? It must be selected.
Do not enable "mass storage".
Then change the port to cpusb and keep the phone on that window.
Then plug the phone into your laptop and wait until all the drivers are loaded. Look at the phone and see if the port mode changed back to APUSB. If it did, change it to CPUSB again and wait for the driver to load.
If that doesn't work, try all of the laptop's usb ports.
If that doesn't work, change the usb cable and try all of the ports again.
This may help:

Ok, so I tried all of this on two different computers, both running windows 7 64bit. I tried the latest USB driver from LG, uninstalling the old ones from LG. Still the same result, error code 10. Followed the link you provided to re install the driver, same issue.
Anything else?

copy and paste this C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\ into your browser and press enter.
Is lgusbdiag.sys in C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\
Download lgusbdiag.sys from http://www.sysfreedownload.com/DownSoft/?softid=2020&pathid=0
Unzip it.
Right-click on the unzipped file and access properties and unblock it.
Install it in C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\
and, if lgusbdiag.sys is already in there, let it overwrite the file.
Reboot
Plug the G2X into your computer, etc.
Open Device Manager -> Ports (COM & LPT)

Nah didn't work. Went to a command prompt with administrative privileges, copied the file you suggested. Rebooted and plugged in my phone, still nothing. Just shows the LGE Mobile Composite USB Device driver under USB that I had to force the installation of.
Nothing under com ports or modems.
I also tried this on windows xp and it didnt work.

In windows 7 it is not there. Should it be on WindowsXP? I assume both.
If this is what I need, how do I add it?

Yes, both are the same.
That means the driver didn't load. There's something wrong with the driver loading.
Manually installing the drivers may work. After you connect the G2X via USB then set the port to CP USB, what happens? Is there any beeping from the laptop? Does a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark appear in Device Manager -> Ports (COM & LPT)?

[Q] [CM10.1]couldnt find drivers when usb tethering

i can use usb tethering when i use android 4.0.4,drivers are ok.but in 4.2.2 computer cant find modem driver.
same here
anyone?
Hi! Me too
I've downloaded this driver http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=445436 and fellow the instructions.
Next I've downloaded the reverse tether app (search in Google Play... but I've downloaded the full apk )
In this configuration: usb connected with usb tether and debugging activated.
and the app shows me "Usb is not connected".
Also I've tried deactivating the debugging, but the problem continues.
I have Windows XP SP3.
PC-side:
Appears a RNDIS driver, I've installed it following the instructions of the first link.
But the system asks me about a device called HTC.
Where is it? How can I get usb tether?
Thanks in advance
PD: In some web pages some people say that in CM10 the usb tether isn't functional.
anyone got other workaround?
cm10.2 too, oh my...

OnePlusOne not recognized by ADB/in Android Debugging mode after update to YOG4PAS3JL

Hi,
I have a very serious problem with my OnePlusOne (64GB) after updating to version YOG4PAS3JL. Since the update, ADB no longer recognizes my phone.
It doesn't depend on the computer I'm using, I have tried to use my phone on 3 different computers (Windows) that I use on a regular basis and none shows my phone with the command adb devices.
Connecting via MTP is no problem, but when I enable Android debugging with USB, my phone will not show up in Windows Explorer.
I have also attached a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and a HTC phone, both are recognized by ADB.
If I change the mode to MTP, it will show up as portable device called A0001 in the windows device manager. If I switch to Android Debugging, it will simply disappear and not show up
as "other device" or usb device without driver. So I can't even reinstall Android ADB Interface, it also doesn't show up in the Device Manager any longer. If I try to install a driver for my OnePlus One when it is in MTP mode, it will also only allow me to install MTP drivers (no possibility to install the previously so fine working Samsung USB drivers).
I have literally tried every solution out there I have found, from unplugging and restarting my phone, using different USB ports, using different USB cables, reinstalling Samsung USB drivers (didn't help as phone did not show up as unrecognizes device any longer), uninstalling Google USB driver, adding OnePlusOne to the .inf usb driver file myself (which mostly resulted in an "no compatible driver was found in this folder"-error), installing fastboot (didn't change anything), universal adb driver setup, pdanet, using USDBDeview, removing drivers with the bacon root toolkit to removing mtp files from the inf folder of windows to prevent MTP driver installation, but nothing worked
I would prefer to go back to the version before YOG4PAS3JL, where ADB worked fine or install a different ROM, but I have seen that every guide states that you need to have ADB to install a new ROM. As my phone is not rooted and I can no longer use ADB with my phone, I'm basically pretty stuck and don't know what to do I'm pretty desperate after two days of trying to solve this problem without success and would be so thankful for any suggestion what I could do.
Same situation...let me know if you find any solution.
Same situation here. Anf I guess this might have a link with my lack of internet connection while tethering.
Did any of you tried the USB or wifi tether? Does it work?
