[Rom-Dev] (3-31-10) DarchDroid v2 | Testing release

Hey guys, I'm been trying to port Aosp 2.1 onto our heroes too. I've got most the stuff to work, except camera. If someone wants to tag along and help, that'd be great. And now that i finished porting aosp 2.1 mostly i can now officially give it a name
I have to give credit to jnwhiteh over at the modaco board for giving me a platform on which to work on, gbhil for the kernel. maejrep toast flipz quietcblongs and gang who work on the 2.1 sense build and aosp for getting a lot of the functions such as data and radio and sensors to work. Without all these devs, this would have never been possible

*Quirks*
Launcher2 does not render properly due to missing mdpi graphics and flexible layout (the 3d rollout effect)
Gallery3D graphics get 'messed up' slightly if you switch orientation. Either one works.. just switching messes it up.
This is still a developmental release guys, i cannot guarantee you will not run across bugs not listed in the what works/what doesn't list

current testing - moved system apps to data to free some space for system memory, major benefit for a2sd users. cleaned and polished rom. very more light weight than before. added backuptool.sh, so you'll need to flash google ****s before flashing this rom
v5 - fixed SU whitelist, lights under hard buttons work, a bit more polished of rom with less holes in it. Last to be of gsm hero source
v4 - Based on Cyanogen Framework, OpenGL ES Lite is added for improved 3d gfx, no more live wallpapers due to it depending on openGL ES 1.1
v3 - Multitouch is added, wifi
v2.5 - sensors work
v2 - radio, BT, gps, and sms now work
v1- it boots! that is all

Chuggy and Slow? You gotta be kidding me? its going pretty smooth and fast for me. And I think thats how the Nexus wallpaper should work, it does random shizz at touch. idk though becuz i've never seen it really at work. hmm, ahh well. Thanks for showing interest.

Is this really necessary? It seems like you just injected the english translation patch over the rom. I'm sure everything else is still broken.
Regardless I've been working on fixes for most of these issues and also have found some other bugs you will have in yours so might as well check this post out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8301953&postcount=3

Hmm...I had the lockscreen phone and messages working. Didint have a problem with it at all. If i remember correctly, it actually pulled up a different phone dialer when you used the shortcut, than the one on the home screen (odd). The one problem other than the obvious, was all the audio went out on me, just out of the blue, including mic, music, phone, speakerphone and anything else dealing with the audio input and output. But a shutdown and restart fixed that.

still not working for me. I'll give it awhile. gonna flash the newest king kernel over this. I get better performance with those for whatever reasons.

They do work. You have to press and hold on the icon and slide to unlock and it will open the app.

I was able to get rotation to work by flashing the boot.img from an old version of avalaunch I had laying around. Does anyone have v9 or the droid x port? These boot images should fix a few of the issues that is happening.
I got wireless to work as well using the evolaunch boot.img and kernel modules.
And I give up on this... there's no logcat so fixing bugs is like wondering through a maze blind.

For those of you that are experiencing significant battery drain, Please download system tuner pro and under clock the cpu while screen is off and while your in a phone call. Open systemtuner pro>cpu>auto>Presets>very aggressive
systemtuner pro>cpu>auto>boot settings>screen off = as low as you can get it, same goes for in call, set govener to conservative.
systemtuner pro>cpu>auto>bootsettings> apply all scripts at boot. Also If you can turn off 3g/4g when your in a area with bad signal. With these steps I can get almost a day and a half out of my battery with moderate use​.

it only changes the DEFAULT LED color. Apps may override it, and most do.
attempted to fix freezing clock yet again
fixed wifi icon being cut off
fixed color multipliers being doubled
new gamma ranges from -100 to 100 defaulting to 0
your kernel (if it supports gamma tuning) might have a different default, so just keep that in mind (60 was the previous default)
fixed small icons when airplane mode & wifi are enabled
added shortcuts to toggle torch & toggle navbar
that means you can add these to nav bar as regular actions or long press actions, click “Custom app”, scroll down to “System UI”, toggle nav bar & torch should be there.
You can also add these shortcuts to your desktop. They do NOT work correctly from the lockscreen, yet.

Notes (read them!):
this change log is differences between build 34. If you’re coming from M4, you’ll need to read all the change logs from the builds between M4 and M5 (THERE ARE A LOT!)
When you flash themes or mods or kernels, keep in mind that they can change almost any aspect of the ROM and introduce bugs and inconsistencies if not properly packaged for AOKP or not properly updated for Milestone 5.
If you experience a bug after flashing a mod/theme/kernel, do a NANDROID (so you can return to it after testing!), re-flash AOKP and wipe, then test to see if the bug still exists. ONLY THEN REPORT IT TO THE BUG TRACKER.

NOT ALL DEVICES ARE MADE EQUALLY! Some device still have KNOWN bugs!

p4: Galaxy Tab 10.1” -- no camera, rotating device causes a slight flicker, potential touch screen issues.
supersonic: camera works, panorama mode & video camera does NOT
galaxysmtd: I have read that it’s GPS doesn’t work 100%
inc: I have read that some people experience device instability and reboots. No one on the team has an incredible to test on, so we can’t confirm or deny this exists.
p999: g2x - browser crashes while switching to landscape, video recorder does not work, USB tethering does not work
p990: O2x - gps does not work at all, video recorder does not work, other potential inconsistencies, potential ROM Control FCs if language is set to anything other than english
pyramid: sensation - 480p video recording is broke (720, 1080 work fine), usb tether does not work
tenderloin: no camera
MAKE A NANDROID
highly recommended: wipe data/factory reset in recovery - absolutely required if coming from another ROM or AOKP that is running Android 4.0.3

As most of you know HTC has recently announced that they're going back on their promise to upgrade the Desire HD to Ice Cream Sandwich. Nice...hardware acceleration is working. Are you using qcom_display from CAF or something else? And is there any way to verify that Project Butter's features are functional? (triple buffering and vsync)

anyway, i dont see why its a wired question. camera works on ICS, and if im not wrong ICS and JB are pretty the same about drivers, so maybe camera does work.

I think project butter will take effect if hw acceleration works, so yes, it does.

I saw changes to hardware_qcom, so audio is now in qcom_audio, not in qcom_media if I'm not mistaken...

App should work on any CM 10.2 based ROM. Install as system app to avoid crashes. Clear Gallery's data in application manager after installing.

Frame rate setting now shows all preview-fps-ranges supported by device
Added 288p, 240p and 144p profiles support (i9505 shows only 240p)
Added custom profile (EXPERIMENTAL). You can enable it in [Settings] > [Video quality] > [Custom], and change it's settings in [Settings] > [More options]. If you can't start recording, check these settings first (for example, AMR NB audio codec can't be used with sample rate higher than 8kHz).

Improved Polish translation
Now you can set your favorite frame rate :laugh:. Auto restores AOSP setting. Yes, 60 fps works, but (at least on i9505) it changes only shutter speed, video is still encoded in 30 fps. I think it needs to change media_profiles.xml (/system/etc/) and/or graphics driver.
SOURCE CODE: Source is available at https://github.com/M132/camera-mod. Feel free to modify or include it in your rom. Credit would be nice, though .
KNOWN BUGS:
Some videos are encoded in ~16 FPS (CM 10.2 only)
Preview freezes after taking picture with rear cam (CM 11 only)
[highlight]If you report a bug, please, post also your settings and part of logcat or screenshot from CatLog app, that's describing the error (it's usually tagged with AndroidRuntime). I'm not a wizard, I don't know what causes these random FCs .[/highlight]

Please feel free to take a moment to read the first post and see that its for cm 10.2 based ROMs, not touchwiz...

I know, but i little hope it works.

@hardcore90 It may work on Touchwiz with some modifications. Please post a part of logcat (or screenshot from CatLog app ) that's describing the error, so I can fix it . It's usually tagged with "AndroidRuntime". Why would you use it on Touchwiz anyway? It has already amazing cam, with constant 30 fps mode .
@jakemog I will make CM11 version when i9505 gets stable build. Actually, you can use CM10.2 version on it, just like me :laugh:. (Backup and delete camera AND gallery apks from /system/app before installing)

Thank you . It seems like CM's camera uses CM-specific function to enable Samsung's Zero Shutter Lag. Unfortunately, I lost CM10.2 source and I have to redownload and rebuild it to build gallery app, so I will release fix tommorow.

It's probably error log for another app. Could you scroll to the top of it, and then take screenshot in landscape mode? It should look like this:
Notice "Process: com.android.gallery3d" on 2nd line.

Dont u think i have to rename the apk to ''gallery2.apk'' ? Maybe this is the trouble

Damn, freezes for me too. I didn't notice it because I was using front cam. I will try to fix it, but it may take some time because I don't even know what causes it. Tried renaming, still freezes .
