I'm basically a full noob to all of this, Ive got an i9100P S2 running ICS 4.0.4
baseband version: I9100PBVLPB
build number: IMM76D.BVLPC
I want to know HOW to root my phone and or update it to android Jellybean.
basically I dont know anything about rooting or updating apart from using samsung kies which i used to update my phone from Gingerbread to ICS. What do I need to do? thanks.

I've a samsung galaxy 3 (Apollo) i5801.
I had flashed it using odin downloader to ugrade it to un-official froyo firmware.
Now that the offcial update is out from samsung, Is there anyway i can get the offcial update??
When i connect my phone to kies it tell me that i'm already running the latest firmware version.
I want the official update and would be really grateful if someone could help me.

Flash to version that came along with phone and then you can upgrade via kies
how to get original version
hey, i had flashed using odin and do not have a back up of the original firmware version.... can you tell me how to get the original firmware version so that i can install it back?

I have purchased my SAMSUNG GALAXY S GT I9000 from poland last year. Now i live in india and i want to update its firmware.
The details of the phone are as follow,
MODEL NO: GT - I9000
FIRMWARE VERSION: 2.2
BASEBAND VERSION: I9000XXJPP
KERNAL VERSION: 2.6.32.9 [email protected]#1
BUILD NO: FROYO.XWJPF
I Took the phone to samsung service centre but they denied to update it saying the phone is from Poland and it cant be updated in INDIA.
So is there any way that i can update the firmware of my phone?? Kies is also not working.
PLease tell me the way out. Will be very thankful..

Go to samfirmware or Samsung updates.download latest firmware and flash it.instructions are given there.
hi i have samsung galaxy s3 unlocked version (no carrier) from uk..iv been trying to upgrade 4.1.2 from kies and ota.. on ota it says im already with the latest update and in kies i just doenst show upgrade firmware...im living in canada...i downloaded kies from uk website...and i knw 4.1.2 is out for uk unlocked versions..help? i dont want to root or flash this thing

I was rooted and used Kies to update, then re-rooted again.
