Lol that's a very big process without much use. Just format SD card and you're good to go.
Next time,You can also move all background Apps to internal memory and block receivers that send unwanted data and you can use more than 500 apps with a2sd without any freezing or restarting
Sent from my GT-S5360 using xda premium
To solve this we need to have a cwm recovery with proper handle of mount and format command in the updater-script
This concern happen when we flashing a new rom with out proper cleaning or wiping before we install a new rom

yeah all the steps are correct just don't restore backup
you even will not need to wipe anything just backup the data of the sdcard
@samo_gf
if you use android to mount your sdcard ext partition will not show up but if you will use a card reader that ext partition will be mounted
why can't I restore? so sad!!!! does that mean I have to install all my apps again?
you can't restore because no wiping is needed and for a backup purpose use titanium backup
Hi all,
I found that some of the Micromax a110 {on stock v1 and cynus T2} users are wondering whether they should swap internal/external sd card as their internal sd card is full with awesome GAMES data.
Here i will provide three ways to give Micromax a110 more space for gaming. Strictly for root users only.
1.Internal/External swapping
This mod will swap ur internal sd with external sd. Before swapping, backup the data on both sd cards to ur pc and manually "swap" the data from each other.
Then download and extract the vold.fstab and replace the one under /system/etc by using root explorer. Then reboot and enjoy.
d-h.st/LFT
2.Mounting script
If u want to store and run game data from external sd without swapping. Mounting script is a good solution to it.
This script will mount the game data path to your external sd. In other word, it tricked ur device for redirecting the games to load data from external sd instead of internal sd.
What u need are•Script Manager - download from market for free [https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...1hbmFnZXIiXQ..
•mounting script
Create a new script file in Script manager and type the following:
(I used the Android folder as example)
Code:
mount -o bind sdcard/external_sd/Android sdcard/Android
This is for gameloft
Code:
mount -o bind sdcard/external_sd/gameloft sdcard/gameloft
After creating these, u need to cut the files in Android or gameloft from internal sdcard and paste them to the new location on external sd. Leave the original folders empty.
Remember to set them "boot" and "su" and SAVE in script manager. Reboot.
Alternatively, u can use the one I provided or create it by ur own. Extract the MOUNT external.zip and put it into ur sd card. Open it in script manager and select "boot" and "su" then save. Reboot.
If ur ROM is init.d autorun supported, just simply put the mounting script into the /system/etc/init.d folder.
3. Directory Bind tool
This is an apk created by one of our forum members, slig. This is based on the the same mounting script method. U can use it for simplicity. All credits go to the creator.
Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...05&postcount=1
4.GL to SD
This apps created by tnslf2k is similar to the script I made and it is user-friendly. U can download it from https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...lzdGdsQXBwIl0.
For more details, see http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...53&postcount=1
That's all. Choose a way and play ur games

Ok first of all, You DONT want int2ext script. Cause even after that ur internal memory will be eventually filled to max while u have I dont know 200 MB free in sd-ext What you want is d2ext+ script as it is really stable. To use it on MIUI just download it from this link:
www.xda-developers.com/android/cronmod-gives-users-options-of-a2sd-d2ext-int2ext/
after that open the zip file with winzip, go to system/etc/init.d and copy 40d2ext from there to your desktop. Next, open the flashable rom file (The MIUI Rom .zip) via winzip and go to system/etc/init.d and paste the 40d2ext file from your desktop and close winzip. It will ask to save changes. Save them ! Lastly just flash the new modified rom if you are worried about lossing your achievements in angry birds just before doing this make a backup of your apps using titanium backup. Enjoy
Hello,
So the Whatsapp application currently takes up about 10 MB of data on my phone. All of that seems to be on the internal memory and not on the SD card even though I've rooted the phone and moved it to the SD card. How can I reduce the application data? I don't even need whatsapp to take a backup of all my messages.
Basically, I always have only 15MB-20MB of free internal memory. How to get more? I only have Twitter and Whatsapp installed. I've rooted the device also so I can delete anything/move anything to SD Card. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Crazysah
Hey there ,
In order to solve your doubt I need a few answers :
How big is your partition ?
Which script have you used?
Which ROM are you using ?
Here are some possible solutions :
With respect to whatsapp only.. you can delete / clear all your chats from the menu. You can delete message backup by first uninstalling whatsapp deleting the message backup on your SD card ( Whatsapp folder on sd card ) .. and reinstalling whatsapp..
If you want to increase your internal memory :
I think you will have to create an SD-EXT partition.. ( assuming you dont have one cause you havent mentioned it). You will get a guide On this post. Check partitioning of SD - Card.
If you are on Stock ROM you will have to create a FAT32 partition and use Link2SD and transfer your apps to your sd partition.
If your on a custom ROM it is recommended to create an EXT partition (for eg: EXT 2,3,4 ) ... and install simple2ext or Mount2Sd or similar such apps..
Depending on how big the partition is you wont face any problems and you can install as many apps as you wish..
I hope this solved your problem.
AFAIK, Whatsapp currently does not support App2SD methods..
Means you have to keep Whatsapp in the internal memory only..
You can use some sort of script to substitute/increase internal memory, as akshat said..
I m using link2sd on cyanogen 10 by sakindia
I have linked whatsapp and it works
I have 80 mb free internal memory with 15 installed apps like Facebook temple run and subway surfer

I'm not sure how big my partition is but I have 1.8 GB total space on my SD card. At the moment, I only have 16MB free space on internal memory.
I am using stock ROM but I have rooted and installed SuperUser and Link2SD.
I just want more internal memory. Period. That's all I care about. If this means installing a custom ROM, I'll do it. If this means partitioning my SD card, I'll do it.
Just tell me which is easier and better for long term.
Thanks,
Crazysah

I would suggest you try out a custom Rom and with an ext partition it will work well. Partition Upton 2 Gb and use a script. That's what I do and have had no issues with it... Check out the sscript threads or iinstall the apps in the previous posts. I have also mentioned a guide there.. Gives you the info about partitioning..

Okay. Which custom Rom do you recommend? And should I do the partition before or after installing the custom rom?
What all do I need before installing the custom rom? Is it easy?
Anyone at all?
Sorry been a bit busy..
I recommend you install cm9 build 11 ... Its a pretty good ROM to start off with...
1 backup all your apps/ data with titanium backup or similar apps.. ( do not backup system apps and data only backup user apps )
2 download ROM from cm9 thread and copy it on to your sdcard .. ( preferably don't put it in any folder )
3 reboot into recovery ( turn off phone .. Remove battery and put it back in
4 press volume down and power simultaneously and enter bootloader
5 using power and volume rockers select and enter recovrry ..
6 using power and rockers select factory reset and then go to mounts and storage wipe cache boot data and system.. ( DO NOT WIPE YOUR SD CARD / EXTERNAL STORAGE )
7 Go back and go to advanced and wipe dalvik...
8 then click on install zip from SD card...
9 select cm9 build11 zip and flash
10 reboot and enjoy your ice cream sandwich 4.0.4

I have download both the Rom and Gapps from the forum links.. But unable to complete the Installation process on my own.. Please help...
I used the free ROM manager from play store. I completed the first step of making the recovery using the Rom manager but will installing the rom something went wrong and phone was stuck in the boot logo so i rebooted the phone and restored it... after restoration my entire Secondary partition was left blank. I opened Link2Sd to view the partition its shows 2nd part not mounted... when i click on recreate mount scripts and select the fat format that i used for it it shows a error msg as "Mount scripts can't be created Mount:Invalid argument". Please help me installing the ROM and make Link2 SD work. Also i want a secondary partition to stay at 2 gb. what should i do to complete the process safely using the ROM manager?
Create ext partition of card. Not fat32.
Put ROM and gapps in card. Wipe everything everything except SD card. Flash ROM. Flash Gapps if needed(cyanogen).
Wait on first boot.

Your recovery(the official recovery by Rom manager) doesn't support ext partitions.
Change recovery.
Everything should work.
