So aside from getting 25 GB free and the phone coming with DropBox pre-installed and maybe uploading a picture or file to DropBox from the OS. Is there any REAL integration of DropBox in the device? Can you say attach a file from dropbox in your email now? Or perhaps, open say a text file from your DropBox and edit it "in place"? Or maybe edit a photo that's stored in your DropBox?
Sorry if this sounds like a real noob question, I'm just trying to understand how "integrated" DropBox is.
Actualy you only get 23GB for free, the other 2gb are the dropbox standard!
Attaching a file from dropbox to email works, but only with the htc mail, not with the gmail app!
Edit: it doesnt attach the file in the email, it just generates a link to the file and insert it as link
Guess we'll have to wait for Google Drive to see some real cloud integration

I had a Nexus One previously and, at the time, I didn't know what DropBox was. It turns out that all of my photos were automatically being sent to my DropBox even though I hadn't registered on the site.
Now I've got a Galaxy S and I've noticed that some photos taken with this camera are uploading to DropBox as well. What's making photos upload? How come not all photos from my Galaxy S are uploading? And how do I access these photos on a PC, as I haven't registered with my email address on the site?
Edit: I've also just noticed that I can't delete photos from my dropbox on the phone, long-pressing only gives me an option to view details or set as wallpaper.
Are you sure your photos are being uploaded to DropBox as in www.dropbox.com and not just to your "My Dropbox" folder in Picasa?
Upgraded to HC 3.2.1. No complaints. Like the new Supernote app. Just wondering why it and all the other note apps in the market have an upload option to dropbox, google docs, sugarsync, etc, but when you try to upload it says that feature is not working yet (or something similar). I've tried all of the tablet note apps and they all give you the same message, uploading ability, but won't work yet. Supernotes is the same way. What's up with this? Must be something in Android that isn't yet available. All the developers have put the feature in their app, but waiting on the technology to catch up to implement. Frustrating cause I love the Supernote app, but really need to upload to take advantage of cloud storage. My workaround is to use QuickOffice HD which handles uploads to Dropbox, Sugarsync, and Google Docs. Works great, but is more for documents and not notes.
That's strange.
I've never had a problem with any of the note taking apps saving to dropbox.
I just did a supernote test and a paint note and a regular note uploaded to drop box just fine.
might be a dumb quest but do you have qdocs app on your tab? Others have had this prob but also did not know you needed to have the app on the tab for the upload to work.
Are you referring to Google docs?
I don't know what qdocs is....I don't have that loaded on the TF.
No problems sending Supernotes to Dropbox here. Sends it as a JPG. Sends to Google Docs just fine too.
Would be nice to have background web sync of supernotes, but the Android based Sharing is great for the moment.
This app is a real product differentiator... I hope Asus have some more planned.

I think what he means is, do you have the apps for evernote, dropbox etc installed on the tablet, as the share to function wont work unless you have the apps for the options installed.
Regarding Supernotes: I tested again. What I find is you can upload a .jpg file but not a text file. It says that the text upload feature is not available yet. Such as, save the note as a .docx file and try to upload. It will not work. So, if you got text document files to upload, then what am I doing wrong??
I need text file upload for work stuff. .jpg does me no good in sharing work file notes between computers. I use the TF to take notes in many work related meetings. The text format is most needed for mobility.
Yes, I have Dropbox, Sugarsync, Google Docs, etc. loaded on my TF. I have yet to find any note app that will upload a text based note to any of these formats. Am I missing something? Also, what is "qdocs"? I can't find that app on the market.
Thanks.
sorry for the confusion...yes i meant Google docs
I can upload as text file tho on mine....Google docs.
EDIT..my bad that was a doc I only used keyboard on in supernote and it was evernote which it uploaded as a txt to.
Thanks for clarifying.
I only use drop box... no google docs.
I guess this thread is borderline Q&A and borderline Apps so I will just go ahead and post it here.
I am looking for an Instant Upload service for my photos and videos. I previously used Google+, but i have heard different things about size limits. What is the best Instant Upload service that will upload the full file and not compress it, etc? Also, is there a way for pictures to be automatically deleted once it is uploaded to the cloud? Or, will I have to go in and occasionally delete the camera folder?
Thanks

Dropbox does instant upload. You will have to delete the photos physically on your phone though.
Foldersync. It'll do not just media but whatever. A lot of flexibility too including deleting from the phone after upload, etc. Supports multiple cloud services. Been using it since I got my hox, it's a must have app with the limited storage.
Sent from my One X
use dropbox myself works fine
ubuntuOne and dropbox have been the best 2 ive used.
Ok i have a 100gb Dropbox account.

You mean, so it uploads to Dropbox and then removes the file from your phone? I've never heard of something that would do that.
You can use Dropsync to make your phone act like the desktop version of Dropbox, i.e., whatever you put into a specific folder will automatically sync to a folder on Dropbox.

I can easily attach a PDF to a draft gmail from drive using my galaxy nexus on 4.3 android. I can no longer do this since upgrading to the nexus 5?
I click attach in gmail, browse to drive, but my PDFs are now all greyed out on this new phone. Only images allowed. I really need this functionality. Any help very much appreciated. Thanks.

I have the same issue. You can't attach any thing other than images from a cloud service like Google drive using the Gmail app. Attaching local files that are on the phone works. This new integration with Drive has broken this.
Thanks for replying Kayno. I wasn't sure if it was just me doing something wrong.
A workaround is to open the PDF using drive and then save it to the phone, them use a file manager to attach it.
It was much easier to attach direct from drive though. Hopefully the app developers are on it.

Hope they fix it as I do like the new file picker integrated within gmail but that's no good if we cant attach any files other than images and videos.
Another work around is to attach your drive account to a file manager like Solid Explorer which works very well with all cloud accounts like Box, drive and dropbox. Save your file from there to your phone and then share it as a gmail attachment. I know this is also not ideal
